The Georgia Secretary of State's "timely" rollout of a "voter cancellation portal" isn't garnering many headlines (yet) but it should send alarm bells to anyone concerned about voter disenfranchisement and hackery. Hell, it feels like a "dinner bell" to people and organizations constantly challenging voters' rights. My guest - Marilyn Marks with the Coalition for Good Governance - explains what's so concerning about this. Oh, and Kamala Harris came to Atlanta to deliver remarks to a packed arena in downtown Atlanta. No big deal. Hear her speech and some "in the audience" audio, too, thanks to my buddy Calvin.
On this week's show we run down the top ten streaming shows of 2023 and give you ten cool automations for your home. We also read your email and take a look at the week's news. News: Amazon Denies Report Saying Freevee Is Shutting Down Sports Big Influence in Viewers' Platform Choice Get Ready for Another Netflix Price Hike This Year, Analyst Says Other: What REALLY Happens Backstage in Live Broadcasts - INSANE Adrenaline! 10 most streamed shows of 2023 According to Neilson Here are the 10 most streamed shows of 2023, according to Neilson, along with how many minutes that it's been watched last year: 10) “Supernatural”: 22.8 billion minutes 9) “Heartland”: 22.8 billion minutes 8) “Friends”: 25 billion minutes 7) “Gilmore Girls”: 25.2 billion minutes 6) “The Big Bang Theory”: 27.8 billion minutes 5) “Cocomelon”: 36.3 billion minutes 4) “Grey's Anatomy”: 38.6 billion minutes 3) “NCIS”: 39.4 billion minutes 2) “Bluey”: 43.9 billion minutes 1) “Suits”: 57.7 billion minutes viewed When it comes to original streaming shows, “Ted Lasso” topped the list with an impressive — but notably lesser — 16.9 billion minutes viewed. No other original streaming show cracked 15 billion minutes viewed last year. When it comes to streaming movies, Disney's 2016 hit “Moana” topped viewership minutes with 11.6 billion minutes viewed. No other streaming movie topped 10 billion minutes viewed. Combining the total viewership minutes of “Ted Lasso” and “Moana” brings you to 28.5 billion. That's less than half the total minutes viewed of “Suits,” a show that ended nearly four years ago. Ten Cool Home Automations Home automation has come such a long way since the Insteon X10 systems of the 1980s and 1990s. Today there are numerous systems available and just about all of us have some form of automation that we use daily. We pulled together 10 cool automation routines that you may want to try yourself. Have your lights slowly dim just before bedtime. I was a skeptic when I saw this as an option but when I go to bed I do some reading and having the lights dim as I do is a nice way to doze off. I started out with the dimming taking 10 minutes. I liked it so much I now start it a full 30 minutes before my “official” bedtime. Set the lights to randomly flash to make it appear as if you're home when away. We all have lights that turn on automatically. This takes it to the next level. You could define a set of routines that only work when you set a “Vacation Mode” on your system. Set up different ones for each day of the week. Flash your lights when your doorbell rings. This is handy if you are out in the garage, basement, or any other room where you can't hear the doorbell. Comes in handy if you are blasting music. For bonus points you can have your wireless speakers play Men at Work's Who Can it Be Now. Create individual access codes for kids, guests, and extended family members. Then, get a phone notification when specific people arrive home. Have a certain song play out your speakers when certain people arrive. Just like walk up music for baseball. It's fun and you know who just walked in or opened the garage. Install a sensor on or inside your mailbox that alerts you when your mail has arrived/been picked up. I also set a virtual light switch that gets set to on when the sensor goes off. That way if I miss the actual notification I can see that the virtual light is on in my automation app. I clear it when I get the mail. One button press turns on all lighting for a given room, floor or entire house. Great for when you are walking into a dark house or to scare away someone who should not be there. At night, when motion is sensed, ramp lights to 15% (just enough light to see, not to be blinded). Set your door to automatically lock after a set amount of time has passed. With most smart locks, you can pick intervals between 30 seconds and one hour long. Dinner Bell. Set an automation tied to a button that plays a dinner bell through your wireless speakers that dinner is ready. Can also just send out a notification if people are outside.

Producers are learning more and more about the specifics of raising beef on dairy cattle. It's offered a high quality product for consumers and a great financial opportunity for dairy producers. Carrie Mess talks with master's student, Alyssa Seitz, who's working on uncovering more information on what producers can do to continue capitalizing on this option. CheeseCon 2023 is wrapping up today in Madison. Charitee Seebecker was on hand Wednesday visiting with Marshall Reece, VP of Sales & Marketing at Associated Milk Producers Incorporated or AMPI. It's a cooperative familiar to dairy farmers, but not consumers. Reece explains how they're trying to change that with their Dinner Bell butter. Outside investors are getting more and more interested in the dairy complex. That's the word from Matt Tranel, broker/analyst with EverAg out of the Platteville office. He explains how that's impacting market flow and prices with Pam Jahnke.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) is well known in the dairy industry, but not as well known in grocery stores. Well that's about to change. AMPI has created Dinner Bell Creamery and produces butter which can be currently found in Hy-Vee and other local grocery stores. Marshall Reece, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AMPI explains what led them to create this new business and their Co-op Crafted mark. He says the Co-Op Crafted mark symbolizes great taste, because they combine the talents of hardworking farm families and skilled craftsmen to create award-winning dairy products. Each quarter stick of butter is wrapped in a flavor wrap that contains sayings from their dairy farmers to continue the connection of farmers to consumers further.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

1. Dinner Bell. 2. Truck Driver Shortage. 3. Reverse What ?!?!
Healings. Miracles. Visions. Gifts of the Spirit. Casting out of demons. Raising the dead. Angelic Visitations. God's manifest presence. Signs and wonders are a special way God gets the attention of both the lost and the saved. When God stretches forth His hand to perform signs and wonders, the lost come running and the backslidden repent. God is a God of signs and wonders and when He pours Himself out, signs and wonders rain down. Often, signs and wonders point to specific aspects of God's character that He desires to highlight in a particular hour. Such is the case of this little-known revival in Indiana – whose pastor didn't believe in signs and wonders. As God's hand constrained the pastor of the church on the floor (so he wouldn't stop revival) signs and wonders broke forth all throughout their sanctuary. Today's podcast will bring every revivalist great encouragement! Turn it up! Take one step through the doorway and un-narrow your ears because our latest episode is waving hello! In this episode we explore four shockingly different They Might Be Giants songs off of their fourth album Apollo 18, and we are joined once again by Apollo 18 studio engineer Edward Douglas! Hey! Who's that commenting on The Guitar? Is it Jim? NO! It's LAURA CANTRELL, our special guest for this episode! Laura talks all about meeting TMBG and recording vocals on the song (her full interview will be released at a later date!) Then Jordan and Dave have been salivating, just waiting for the chance to devour Dinner Bell! Do the bell thing! Jordan doesn't want to change Dave's mind about Narrow Your Eyes...because they both agree! They discuss the relatable story in the song, which is only half as relatable as Hall of Heads. Is this our favorite one? Please don't try to leave...before enjoying this fantastic episode! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dontletsstart/support

WoW! News Podcast – Alastair & Clarisse tuck in to a tasty subject for World Food Day – how schools are finding ways to feed kids better, while also being kind to the planet.
What will school look like this fall? How do our school administrators make the decisions that will affect families with children and by extension, our whole community? Get the inside view in this episode of the Prescott Woman Podcast with PUSD Superintendent Joe Howard and Assistant Superintendent Mardi Read. Welcome to the Prescott Woman Podcast, the monthly audio companion to Prescott Woman Magazine. We’re your hosts Kelly Roberge and Charles Matheus, a curious couple exploring the rich array of talent, personality, and engagement we find throughout the Quad Cities. We dive deeper with the people featured every other month in the pages of Prescott Woman Magazine, discovering more about how they are working to make our community better. Our guests this episode are stalwart education leaders, Mardi Read and Joe Howard. Mardi Read graduated from UC Riverside with a BS in Environmental Science and worked in environmental consulting for 10 years. She moved to Prescott in 1997, where her father was raised and her grandmother was a teacher at PHS. Education and Prescott must be in Mardi’s bones, because she went on to earn her teaching credential and two master’s degrees - in educational technology and educational leadership. She worked for years in the classroom and as an administrator before becoming Assistant Superintendent of Prescott Unified School District. Joe Howard also has the education of Prescott kids in his bones. Joe’s father Jim Howard was superintendent of schools in Prescott for years. Joe has been the superintendent of the Prescott Unified School District for the last five years, guiding the district through budgetary, enrollment, and staffing challenges. Following his second year as superintendent, he received the prestigious Distinguished Administrator award from Arizona School Administrators. Joe and Mardi were very open and honest with us about the challenges of educating kids during a pandemic, especially considering the limited resources available and the rapidly changing situation. But they have come up with a clear plan that balances keeping kids safe while working hard to keep their education on track. There’s a treat at the end of the episode. Mardi, who’s clearly the historian of the pair, regales us with some stories about the early years of Prescott Unified School District, so listen for that. We think you will finish listening to this episode feeling more confident in our school administrators and more hopeful for the future of our kids. Avoiding the drive thru when life gets busy isn’t hard but it does take planning. I have my 3 step PSA for weeknight family dinner success. Step 1 P-Plan and Prep, Step 2 S-Set a Dinner Bell and Step 3 A-Always have a backup. Today we are going to talk about A- Always have a backup. A Backup is any dinner you can get on the table in 20 minutes or less with ingredients you have in your house. That may be your pantry, refrigerator or freezer. Identify 3 backup meals you can fix for your family and get the ingredients in your house this week. It is important to do it now because when you need a backup it is too late to go to the store. By always having a backup you can avoid the drive thru and get your family fed even when life gets crazy. You know that there will be days when things don’t go as planned, or days when you are just extra busy. You may even PLAN to use a backup meal on a very busy night. You can get the backup food in your freezer by making extra food one night and freezing it for another day. When you freeze food you want to consider how you plan to thaw them. I have learned that when I use a zip top gallon bag I don’t freeze it totally flat because the large square does not fit well in a bowl in my microwave. Instead, I fill it half full and fold the top half of the bag over the food to create a rectangle that fits in a bowl in my microwave. Some of my favorite backup meals: Chicken Tacos Taco Meat Bean Quesadillas Spaghetti Chili BLT Sandwiches Breakfast for dinner with Turkey Sausage or eggs and pancakes Pre-Cooked Ground Beef Cheeseburger Baked Potatoes

DAVID SWEET— Is our Guest Speakers today, but when I introduce David I must include David’s wife Lindy who is presently in Europe. David and Lindy are experienced ministers who specialise in both ministering healing and teaching how to heal the sick. Their ministry is accompanied by instant manifestations of healing. They believe healing is the ‘Dinner Bell’ of the gospel and they ring that bell at every opportunity. With a passion to see people saved, healed and delivered, David and Lindy’s prayer is that the word they teach is so simple that even the youngest child can understand it. They preach the Word of God with boldness and in demonstration of the Holy Spirit. David and Lindy were both born again and filled with the Holy Spirit on the 14th February 1984. They have been married for 47 years and have three adult children and three grandchildren. David and Lindy graduated from Rhema Bible Training Centre Perth in 1986. They have successfully pioneered and pastored several churches and are passionate about ministering the unconditional love and mercy of God and His provision of salvation, healing, deliverance and prosperity for all. In 1987 they established their first church in Alice Springs, outback Australia. After moving back to their home state of Queensland, they began another ministry under the name of Abundant Life Ministries Network which included pioneering and pastoring three churches, a Bible College and itinerant ministry through Faith and Healing Seminars which have resulted in many instant manifestations of healing. At present there are hundreds of thousands of copies of their, “How to get To Heaven” mini book in circulation in numerous nations. This book has proven an excellent evangelistic tool with many testimonies of people accepting Jesus after reading it. English copies are currently being distributed free of charge and ten translations are available for reading online for free at: www.heavenbks.net A more recent book by David and Lindy entitled, “How To Get Your Prayers Answered” is also in print in English and Urdu with copies distributed in Australia, Philippines, Indonesia, United States, United Kingdom, Pakistan and Africa. We thank Ps Tony of Rhema Family Church - Brisbane Australia, who has permitted us to copy this audio of David teaching at their Church a couple of weeks ago ...thank you Ps Tony.

This week's show is a special one — both in content and what it means for me as your host. I'm so stoked to bring you an interview with a band I love…. and it's the Quiet Hounds. We met up for dinner at Le Fat to talk about how they came together as a band, why Happy Hour at Nakato is amazing, a radio show that was hosted in the tower of Ponce City Market back in the 20s, and an incredible experience they are at the helm of… and that's Dinner Bell.Music provided by and all rights held by Quiet HoundsIntro Track: Quiet VioletOutro Track: ThievesFrom their most recent record, Characteristics of Living Things, 2017©The Atlanta Foodcast

Hope you're hungry for adventure, because this episode is jam packed! First, Nicole tries to clear up a misunderstanding about Louis XIV before both dudes swap travel horror stories in preparation for Erin's 15-hour flight to Japan. Still, their stories pale in comparison to the travelog of the Donner-Reed party and the trek they made along the Oregon Trail. An early storm, a jabroni tour guide and a bunch more bad moves along the way sealed this party's fate in the wild, wild west.

Molly Nakahara founded Dinner Bell Farm in 2010 with Paul Glowaski and Cooper Funk. She is an educator, urban agriculture advocate, and as a Ninth generation Californian, she has a strong connection to the Golden State. Molly’s original Californian ancestors were the Peraltas, a Mexican Spanish ranchero family that raised cattle on the green hills of the East Bay Area from El Cerrito to San Leandro. In the 1930s and 40s, Molly’s great-grandparents, immigrants from Japan, farmed green onions and lettuce in the Salinas Valley. Their children, Molly’s grandparents, moved to Berkeley following the internment camps of World War II and built an agricultural oasis in their urban backyard. Molly spent countless hours looking for earthworms, picking green beans, and spraying cabbage moths with water in their garden on Harmon St. Prior to farming with the Dinner Bell crew, Molly worked with the Alameda County Office of Education Project EAT to bring nutrition education and food production gardens to urban public schools. Along with many dedicated students, teachers and staff members, she founded the Tennyson High School Farm at Tennyson High School in Hayward, CA. She believes that food production is a wonderful way to connect people to the land that we all live on. Sponsored by Hearst Ranch.
