#AskDrJohnWatts Different questions related to baldness, hair grafts, hair loss, hair transplant procedures and medical treatments for hair loss are being raised by patients now and then, including the followers of Dr John Watts, who keep flooding his series of hugely popular educational videos on his popular YouTube channel with queries related to different hair issues. In this video session, Hyderabad's noted dermatologist & trichologist and one of the Best Hair Transplant Surgeons in Hyderabad, Dr John Watts answers a specific query on Finasteride. He answers that increasing the Finasteride dosage than advised by the doctor will lead to the recurrence of the hair shedding phase. He explains the pros and cons of this issue. Dr John Watts answers all these queries in this video. So far, he has performed over 2000+ hair transplant surgeries successfully. Prabhas 123 asks: Sir, my dermatologist had advised me to take Finasteride thrice a week. If I increase the dosage to five times a week, will it increase the chances of a recurring hair-shedding phase? Please explain. Finasteride is a medication that works by blocking DHT, a hormone that can cause hair loss. It is an effective treatment for baldness, but it should only be taken with a doctor's prescription. You should never take this medication on your own without consulting a doctor first. “Usually, hair shedding does not occur when taking Finasteride. This is more common with Minoxidil users,” said Dr John Watts, while addressing the query of Prabhas. However, in rare cases, some people who take Finasteride may experience temporary hair shedding. This is not a cause for concern. He advised the viewers that if one's dermatologist has prescribed Finasteride to be taken three times a week, there is no need to increase it to five times a week. Even if your doctor has prescribed it to be taken five times a week, you can take it without worry as it won't lead to hair shedding. “However, you should never stop taking Finasteride unless you experience adverse side effects,” advised Dr John Watts. Advisory for Finasteride users: While Finasteride is sometimes known to leave adverse side effects when it relates to sexual function in rare cases, Dr John Watts advised the viewers to always consult their dermatologist or physician once in three months to update them on its further use or any side effects. However, he asked the Finasteride users not to discontinue using the drug unless advised by their dermatologist to stop it. “If one has noticed that baldness has stopped after using Finasteride, they must not stop using it on their own based on self-decision. It should never be discontinued especially by those who have a family history of baldness,” informed Dr John Watts. In this episode John and Kelly discuss the importance of setting aside time to think two times a week. But this isn't regular thinking. This is DEEP THINKING. Each thinking session is about 30 minutes long. First five minutes is just writing in your thinking tablet whatever comes to you. Then for the remaining 25 minutes approximately, figure out a question that you need the answer to. By virtue of asking yourself the question, you automatically trigger yourself into a deeper form of thinking. This is where the gold is. Then after you have written down the last thing you thought about, you draw a line. Then list the two or three takeaways and also the action steps. So that's how it works. Kelly talks about how transformative this has been in her business. It generated the wildly successful book club she incorporated. With John, he talks about how this deep thinking technique made him $6 million on one idea. John also offers a valuable tip on how to get into the alpha state, where people are most creative. To wrap up the episode, we hear from a friend of John's, Keith Cunningham, who wrote the book “The Road Less Stupid”. He works with Tony Robbins and he expands on this idea of asking yourself a question. About the Hosts: John Mitchell John's story is pretty amazing. A man of many talents, Frankie Grande is currently playing Victor Garber and Luigi in the Off-Broadway production of “Titanique”.
