The initiative works by offering a platform where venues and artists can offer up free or discounted tickets to shows to 18-25 year olds that have signed up. MyGigPass has been put together by the Live Music Venues Alliance with support from the NSW Government; and in its early months is seeing strong adoption from both venues and punters. In this episode of Talking Sleep, host Dr. Seema Khosla welcomes Dr. Lee Neilson, Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Iowa and staff neurologist at the Iowa City VA specializing in movement disorders, to discuss his groundbreaking research examining whether obstructive sleep apnea represents a modifiable risk factor for Parkinson's disease. Dr. Neilson's ambitious study analyzed records from 13 million patients within the VA system to investigate whether OSA is associated with higher risk of neurodegenerative disorders and whether treating sleep apnea might help delay the onset of dementia. The conversation traces the research design from initial hypothesis through methodology, explaining how he narrowed this massive dataset and defined both OSA diagnosis and Parkinson's disease progression. On January 5th, 1981, Jeff Neilson returned to his home in Moore, Oklahoma, from a day of classes to find his wife of five months, Tracey Neilson, dead from multiple stab wounds. Over four decades later, Tracey's murder remains unsolved. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murder of Tracey Neilson. Tracey was a native of Texas who met and fell in love with Jeff at Oklahoma State University. Everyone who knew her said she was a loving and caring person. College student Tracey Neilson was murdered on her 21st birthday in Oklahoma in January of 1981. She was a bright student and a newlywed who had been married less than 6 months when she was killed.
