James Fishback (Co-Founder and CEO, Azoria Investment Firm) joins Chris Cuomo to explain the “Doge Dividend” — a proposal he created to give Americans a refund check from savings in government spending. Fishback lays out why he believes tariffs, deregulation, and investing in American manufacturing are the keys to rebuilding the middle class. He and Cuomo debate the legacy of Trump's economic policies, the cost of cheap goods, and whether bold proposals like this can break through to voters. They also discuss the role of AI in government, the opioid crisis, and the deeper tradeoffs of today's global economy. Source: fortune.com Trump Announces He Is Considering Giving 20% of DOGE Savings to Taxpaying Americans – And Slash National Debt Trump revealed on Tuesday that he's seriously considering a proposal to give 20% to every American taxpayer, funded entirely by the massive savings the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has accumulated. And another 20% of DOGE's savings could go straight to paying down the federal government's bloated debt. Fishback explained the idea as follows: Here's how President Trump's DOGE Dividend works: DOGE is targeting $2 trillion in total savings. Take 20% of DOGE's total savings ($400 billion) and return it to the ~79 million U.S. households that will be net payers of federal income tax4 in CY 2025 as a tax-refund check called the “DOGE Dividend.” $400 billion in DOGE-driven savings *divided by* 79 million tax-paying households = $5,000 “DOGE Dividend” check per tax-paying household. Trump: By doing this, Americans will tell us where there's waste. They'll be reporting it themselves. They participate in the process of saving money. So many of the men and women in this room, as an example, pay tremendous amounts of taxes. Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards. First, Dom welcomes in James Fishback, founder of Incubate Debate, America's fastest-growing debate league, onto the podcast after he penned a piece for The Free Press that investigates claims by the Left that progressive books are being censored in public schools. Then, Dom welcomes in Dave Brown, a longtime high school coach of many sports out in Oregon, who announced last week that he'd resign due to his refusal to support biologically male students competing with biologically female athletes. For years, James Fishback has been dedicated to formal debate as a competitor and coach. In 2019, James launched “Incubate Debate,” a nonprofit organization bringing no-cost, free-speech debate tournaments, workshops, and camps to students across Florida. The organization seeks to overcome economic hardship and increasing censorship in national debate events. In May, James wrote an article, “At High School Debates, Debate Is No Longer Allowed,” for The Free Press. He exposed the punishment debaters receive for “what they say and how they say it,” and the ideological constraints judges enact in tournaments. In June, James wrote a second article for The Free Press about tournament punishments based on debaters' comments on social media—completely unrelated to their debate performance. In lockstep with the rest of academia, ideas on the debate stage are being censored on the basis of “safety” and ideological conformity. Watch this episode on YouTube.

James Fishback, founder and executive director of Incubate Debate, the largest and only no-cost debate league in Florida. Incubate serves thousands of middle and high school students across the state, believing that open debate and free speech are essential. What's So Controversial About Patriotism?
As much as one-third of Congress did debate while in high school. Competitive debate is how future leaders are learning rhetoric and how to engage with issues. So it matters a lot that today's debate judges are promoting open racial discrimination, restrictions on free speech, and even the doxing of competitors' tweets and Facebook posts. Incubate Debate founder James Fishback joins Andrew to talk about the disastrous decline of high school debate, and the prospects for revitalizing it with a new alternative to the rotten national organization.Support the show: http://www.charliekirk.com/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Competitive debate veteran and veteran debate coach James Fishback joins Tim to talk about free speech, and at times the lack of certain kinds of debate in high school debate. James founded an organization called Incubate Debate in 2019 after serving as a volunteer debate coach in Miami-Dade county for two-years. Prior to that, he competed in high school debate for four-years in Broward County. https://traffic.libsyn.com/forcedn/shapingopinion/Hijacking_High_School_Debate_auphonic.mp3 James Fishback started Incubate Debate, with the goal of making debate accessible to students of all socioeconomic backgrounds and political beliefs. Over the past four years, James says Incubate Debate has helped thousands of students from all over Florida through its tournaments, workshops, and camps, all at no cost. But what caught our attention was some publicity James received when he spoke out on the issue of free speech and high school debate. According to James, there are some points you're just not allowed to make as a high school debater. But before we get into that, I wanted to find out more about James' own experience with high school debate and how it's supposed to be. Links Incubate Debate At High School Debates, Debate is No Longer Allowed, The Free Press National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) NSDA Statement on Its Policies (Link to Google Docs) About this Episode's Guest James Fishback James Fishback founded Incubate Debate in 2019 after serving as a volunteer debate coach in Miami-Dade county for two-years and competing in high school debate for four-years in Broward County. Both were incredible and eye-opening experiences, but ones in which he recognized tremendous issues that prevented many students from participating in and reaping the benefits of debate. In 2019, he started Incubate Debate, with the goal of making debate accessible to students of all socioeconomic backgrounds and political beliefs. Over the past four years, Incubate has welcomed thousands of students from all over Florida to its tournaments, workshops, and camps, all at no cost. Incubate is built on the principle of making debate easy to learn, hard to master. Through our proprietary debate formats (TownHall, Roundtable, Tribunal), Incubate is easy to learn: students get a basic understanding of the rules and processes fast, but it is hard to master because it demands a high level of skill, knowledge, and practice to be successful. Mastering Incubate's challenging, yet accessible style of debate requires dedication and a willingness to continually strive for improvement. NSDA Statement The following is the Editor's Note from The Free Press Article mentioned in the episode and linked-to above: "One day after this story published, the NSDA released a statement on Twitter, stating in part: 'Our judge training materials in partnership with the National Federation of State High School Associations provide best practices for adjudicating speech and debate, such as "Judges should decide the round as it is debated, not based on their personal beliefs."...Tabroom.com is a project of the National Speech & Debate Association, and its purpose is to provide a tournament management system for debate and speech tournaments worldwide. The 47,000 judge paradigms housed therein represent the opinions and viewpoints of the individual paradigm authors. Schools or other organizations that use Tabroom.com to hire judges are free to evaluate those paradigms before engaging their services.'"
In this episode, Michele Tafoya is joined by James Fishback, a former high school debater and debate coach, who wrote an article in the Free Press highlighting the ideological bias and censorship in high school debate competitions. Fishback's efforts to raise awareness about this issue have garnered support from both conservatives and liberals, indicating a growing recognition of the importance of free speech and open debate.
For the last decade, Dominique Fishback has been building up her resume with some stellar performances. In 2018, she appeared in the David Simon show Show Me A Hero. She parlayed that into a regular role on The Deuce. Then she played Deborah Johnson in Judas and the Black Messiah – a drama based on the true story of Black Panther Fred Hampton. The role earned her a BAFTA nomination, among other accolades. These days, you can see her on Amazon Prime's Swarm. It's a TV series created by Donald Glover and writer Janine Nabers. Fishback has the ability to command a fierce, brilliant presence on screen. She can be disarming and vulnerable in one moment, terrifying the next. Dominique Fishback joins Bullseye to talk about Swarm and Judas and the Black Messiah, and her love of journaling – a hobby that has helped her learn more about herself and the characters she portrays.
