Catherine, David and Matt were live after a couple of late night five-setters as Grigor Dimitrov's feel good run went on and Alexander Bublik ended Frances Tiafoe's hopes. How much regret will Tiafoe have after failing to take any of his nine set points in the third? And just how far can Dimitrov go? It was also a huge day in the women's draw as former champions Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina were both beaten. We discuss Alexandra Eala's extraordinary performance to beat Swiatek and the impact of her win in The Philippines, as well as Elise Mertens holding her nerve to beat Rybakina. Who can capitalise the most from those upsets? In part two we cover the rest of the day's results, including Madison Keys beating Amanda Anisimova in her first match on Centre Court, Flavio Cobolli winning despite losing a 6-0 opening set, Arthur Fery's fifth set tiebreak win over Zizou Bergs to keep British interest alive, and Marta Kostyuk's best ever run on grass. Back from our first trip to Roland-Garros, here is part 2 of our RG mid-tournament wrap, this one focusing on the tennis we saw, the happenings on-site, and how the chaotic first week played out more broadly. What's it like to watch a tournament unfold in person while it's already being branded online as chaotic and/or horrible? Well, sometimes your priority is just your next water refill. We'll tell you about players we sought out (Swiatek, Rybakina, Medvedev, Vacherot, Jodar, Tiafoe, and more). We'll take you through the experience of watching Naomi Osaka's walkout and the surreal collapse of Jannik Sinner as it unfolded on Chatrier. As we always do, we'll dip into the messier moments, like the Korpatsch-Wang dust-up, the monumental PR stumbles of Rafa Jodar, and Vallejo's misogynistic bag-fumbling. Jimmy drove down to have dinner at Nan Ban Kan, and record a fresh episode of the podcast. Jannik Sinner wins his first Indian Wells crown, which was the only Masters 1000 hard court title missing from his resume. Having only played 2 tournaments so far this year it was nice to see the young Italian play some of the best tennis of the year. Aryna Sabalenka also broke through to win her first IW title after being runner up in 2025 to Andreeva. She played an instant classic vs AO champ Elena Rybakina in the final winning 7-6 in the third. Daniil Medvedev is back playing some of the best tennis of his career and is back in the top ten of the ATP tour. Med played a great match beating Carlos Alcaraz in the SF and almost pushing Sinner to 3 in the final. With 2 titles on the year already it seems like there is more positive things ahead for the Russian. Elena Rybakina has been one of the best players in the world the past 9 months. The AO champ played some amazing tennis to get to the final and was up a set and a break on Sabby before things turned around. In what has to be one of the best matches of the year the two biggest hitters on tour blasted away for 3 high powered sets. Sadly someone had to lose, but something tells us these two will play more important matches down the road. All that plus more on a new episode of the Advantage Connors podcast.
