It's been another long, hot day at Wimbledon with the fans on Centre Court and No. 1 Court. Join Joel and Kim as they discuss Sinner opening with some serious serving stats whilst Draper made light work of Baez who still hasn't won a tour level grass match since Eastbourne 2023. They also get to the bottom of the beef that broke Round 1 between Fritz and Perricard and just why their match was stopped last night and whether that was the right decision. However the seed exodus continued with last year's semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti and Halle champ Alexander Bublik suffering surprise defeats along with Alexander Zverev whose poor showings at Wimbledon continues. On the women's side, French Open champion Coco Gauff suffered another early exit at the hands of dangerous Dayan Yastremska. Defending champion Barbora Krejickova overcame a slow start against up and coming Alexandra Eala in three sets but two-time former champion Petra Kvitova made her final Wimbledon bow in defeat to Emma Navarro. It wasn't all smooth sailing for the Americans as recent Bad Homburg champion (and avid Call of Duty gamer) Jessica Pegula was dismissed along with Queen's semi finalist Qinwen Zheng. They also unveil the gang's Collect a Set predictions for the tournament and look ahead to Day 3 with Carlos Alcaraz returning against Britain's newest surprise package Oliver Tarvet.BABOLATBabolat are an official partner of Wimbledon and their Wimbledon collaboration collection is available to purchase now from babolat.com SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. Alexander Bublik - Wimbledon 2025 Player Interview for Media Day
It's Wimbledon Eve and Catherine, Matt and David are live from the grounds to get hyped. In Part 1 we catch up with some more press conferences, including a cautiously optimistic Iga Swiatek, coming off a decent week in Bad Homburg, and the player that beat her there in the final, Jessica Pegula. What do we think about their prospects at Wimbledon? There's also news from Madison Keys, and David details his exchange with Naomi Osaka about recent comments by her coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, on the “lack of stars” in women's tennis. There's also word on Joao Fonseca who is delighted to be here and Eastbourne champion Taylor Fritz. In Part 2 (27m58s) we discuss that order of play in more detail, running through the full schedule of matches and looking ahead particularly to Sabalenka vs Branstine, Rinderknech vs Zverev, and Fonseca vs Fearnley. In Part 3 (47m22s) there's a teaser for the bonus show for Friends of the Podcast, “TTP Meets”, our exclusive interviews with Alexander Bublik, Matteo Berrettini, Hailey Baptiste, Ons Jabeur, Beatriz Haddad Maia and Marketa Vondrousova, before we dive into questions from the live chat.Become a Friend of The Tennis PodcastCheck out our new merch shop! Catherine, David and Matt were back for their second live show with news from media day at the Championships. Part 1 – Men's Draw. We discuss what the top players said in press today, including Jannik Sinner's reluctance to state his reasons for changing his team right before a major tournament. There's further chat about the apparent “blind date” nature of the US Open doubles partnerships, and about a cheerful Carlos Alcaraz being beaten by Andy Murray – at golf. Novak Djokovic showed he's clearly still hungry for big titles, and we discuss whether a professional and mature Jack Draper is feeling the pressure to succeed on home turf. We've spoken as well to Matteo Berrettini, Alexander Bublik, and Alexander Zverev, and an emotional Dan Evans gave us a insight into the internal struggles that can loom over you at the end of your career. Part 2 – Women's Draw (36m28s). How long and dark a shadow has been cast by Aryna Sabalenka's post US Open press conference? We talk about how both Sabalenka and Coco Gauff feel about the situation now and their reactions at the time. There is concern about where Ons Jabeur is with her game these days, and fears about Emma Raducanu's fitness as well. But there was cheer from an unexpected encounter with Marketa Vondrousova. Part 3 – Results (56m49s). Jessica Pegula wrote herself into the narrative by winning Bad Homburg, beating Iga Swiatek. Is she now firmly in the mix for the Wimbledon crown? And there is huge news from the women's tournament in Eastbourne as Maya Joint defeated an emotional Alexandra Eala in a hard fought final, leading to a big Backhand List announcement.Become a Friend of The Tennis PodcastCheck out our new merch shop! In our first live show from Wimbledon in 2025, Catherine, David and Matt are here to dissect the men's and women's singles draws. Part one - Men's draw. We discuss Jack Draper's tough route which could involve facing Alexander Bublik in R3, Novak Djokovic landing in the top half along with Jannik Sinner, the news that Sinner has suddenly split with his fitness trainer and physio, the dream path facing Carlos Alcaraz in the bottom half, a potentially tricky two weeks for Alexander Zverev, and Taylor Fritz's grass court scheduling. Part two - Women's draw (33m03s). It looks like a tough road ahead for top seed Aryna Sabalenka. We cover the names which could stop her from going deep as well as Sabalenka's practice session with Coco Gauff and what that told us about their relationship after the Roland Garros final. There's also a bold Amanda Anisimova prediction, Iga Swiatek coming in under the radar for once, and lots of intriguing round one matches. Part three - Results round up (54m34s). We cover the intriguing Eastbourne final between Alexandra Eala and Maya Joint, discuss Swiatek's run in Bad Homburg in more detail, and look ahead to media day on Saturday.Become a Friend of The Tennis PodcastCheck out our new merch shop! Wimbledon! The Championships are upon once again with a lot to live up to after THAT dramatic finale at Roland Garros. Join the gang at Tennis Weekly HQ as they react to the men's and women's draws, dish out some dodgy predictions and unveil Collect a Set player picks. On the men's side, the question on everyone's lips might be will we get another edition of the Carlos Alcaraz - Jannik Sinner rivalry? Joel's not so sure and whilst Carlitos has been handed a pretty routine draw on paper, Jannik Sinner got some trick battles including a potential all Italian quarterfinal with Lorenzo Musetti, last year's semifinalist. Great British hope Jack Draper also got dealt a nightmarish draw with both his French Open conqueror Alexander Bublik and Queen's conqueror Jakub Mensik in his section along with Novak Djokovic who has been in the last SIX Wimbledon finals. On the women's side, can Aryna Sabalenka finally get over the finish line and win a Grand Slam title this season? In her way is a potential R3 showdown with Britain's Emma Raducanu or former champion Market Vondrousova who got the better of her recently in Berlin. French Open champion Coco Gauff also may have hoped for a kinder draw with a tricky opening against Nottingham finalist Yastremska with Rybakina and Swiatek lurking close by. The team also discuss prize money as Britain's Oliver Tarvet will NOT be allowed to claim his prize money of at least £66,000 due to still being in college in America. This week Erik and Aidan kick off the episode by discussing the pair of ATP 500 tournaments that happened this past week in Halle and London at Queen's Club. In Halle, the story of the week was Sinner getting upset by Alexander Bublik in the second round. Immediately, this loss has driven speculation about both Sinner's level on grass and his mental state after his loss at Roland Garros. On the other side, Alcaraz won the title at Queen's club for a second time, giving him even more momentum going into Wimbledon in a couple of weeks. The pair then discuss some of their 2025 predictions that they made at the end of last year, and look back at how accurate their commentary from that time has been through six months. Be sure to check back next week for another episode!

With Wimbledon one week away, the grass court season is in full flow so join Joel, Kim and Chris at Tennis Weekly HQ as they look back on yet another enthralling week of tennis on the tour.
Alexander Bublik a créé l'exploit à Halle.
In this podcast Ben's reacts to Alexander Bublik defeating Jannik Sinner in Halle. Carlos Alcaraz scraping through in 3 sets against Jaume Munar at Queens. Coco Gauff getting knocked out of Berlin Open early by Xinyu Wang. He also looks ahead to Sabalenka vs Rybakina and gives his prediction. ❤️ SUBSCRIBE TO GTL: https://bit.ly/35JyOhz ▶️ JOIN YOUTUBE MEMBERSHIP: https://bit.ly/3Fk9rSr

Down to one court, and the singles at Roland Garros becomes a rarefied atmosphere, to say the least. Just ask Mirra Andreeva, who melted under the pressure of playing a home favourite in Lois Boisson. Same could be said of Alexander Zverev, beaten by Novak Djokovic, while Alexander Bublik or Tommy Paul were never expected to stop Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz's inexorable march to the final.
Part one. We start by reacting to Alexander Bublik's extraordinary performance to knock out Jack Draper. Just how good was he? And could Draper have done anything differently? We then look ahead to Novak Djokovic vs Alexander Zverev as both men reached the last eight with ease. Part two (30m40s). The remarkable run of Lois Boisson continued as she beat third seed Jessica Pegula in an enthralling encounter on Chatrier. We discuss the experience in the stadium and how Boisson's game disrupted Pegula. But can she keep it going against Mirra Andreeva? Plus, let the hype begin for Coco Gauff vs Madison Keys. Part three (48m08s). We cover Jannik Sinner's routine win in the night session and the Day 10 order of play as the tournaments reaches the quarter-finals stage.Buy tickets for Tennis Podcast Live in London on Thursday 26th June at Shoreditch Town Hall. Brits, over and out. It's been another thrilling last couple of days at Roland Garros so why not join Joel and Kim as they take stock on all the Round 4 action in Paris. Jack Draper fell to a red-hot drop shotting maestro Alexander Bublik to bring his campaign to an abrupt end whilst Cam Norrie failed to match his Geneva performance with a straight sets defeat to Novak Djokovic who won his 100th (!) singles match at the French Open.Elsewhere, Iga Swiatek brought herself back from the brink with a hard thought three set win over Elenea Rybakina. Does it prove she is still the Queen of Clay or are there bigger tests to come? And in one of the stories so far, French wildcard No. 361 ranked Lois Boisson pulled off a stunning upset over Jessica Pegula to book her spot in the quarterfinals versus Mirra Andreeva. Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka also cruised through once again without dropping a set. Joel and Kim also give a midway Collect a Set update and it's a historic moment but not for the right reasons…PROPERTY HUB INVESTIf you're serious about property, head to https://propertyhub.net/start to take your first step.SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. It's the Roland Garros 2025 2nd Round Show... In Thursday's action, Henrique Rocha and Alexander Bublik each pulled off upset wins from down 2-0, against Jakub Mensik and Alex De Minaur Respectively. Blisters are the only concern for Novak Djokovic who's tennis was rather blistering against Corentin Moutet. In Wednesday matches, Casper Ruud was effected by injury in a loss to Nuno Borges, Carlos Alcaraz dazzled against Fabian Marozsan, Tommy Paul was tough as his truck in comeback against Marton Fucsovics, Holger Rune put in a disciplined performance against Emilio Nava, and Stefanos Tsitsipas continued his slide with an upset defeat against Mateo Gigante. 0:00 Intro 0:50 Rocha def Mensik 5:05 Bublik def De Minaur 14:20 Fils def Munar 24:00 Fonseca def Herbert 28:00 Draper def Monfils 33:50 Djokovic def Moutet 45:00 Borges def Ruud 48:25 Alcaraz def Marozsan 51:25 Paul def Fucsovics 54:50 Rune def Nava 58:28 Gigante def Tsitsipas Joao Fonseca and Jack Draper are set for a 3rd round blockbuster.
