This week we're discussing every album by Donnie and Joe Emerson. The Emersons recorded one album in the late 70s as teenagers in a hilariously expensive home studio built by their father. The result was a charmingly rough collection of songs obviously written by kids. They quickly faded into obscurity until they were discovered in the 2010s and miraculously gifted a second life. I hope you're ready for a good time.Closing track: “My Heart” from Dreamin' Wild (1979)Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/everyalbumeverMerchhttps://pandermonkey.creator-spring.com/Mike's EP:Pander Monkey on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple,Mike on Instagram @pandermonkeyAlex on Bluesky @octatron3030Tom on Instagram @tomosmansoundsHistory Tom's stuff:Music on Spotify, ApplePodcast on Spotify, YouTubeSubstackWebsiteAlbums we discussed this episode…Dreamin' Wild (1979)Still Dreamin' Wild: The Lost Recordings 1979-81 (2014)

Halloween is on the way and we always do something different for it. This time we're doing a commentary for the 1987 vampire movie The Lost Boys! We even dressed in Lost Boys themed outfits for the Patreon vid which we will make available to ALL Patrons (even free ones), as a treat. The Lost Boys is an interesting comedy horror vampire film, it distils a LOT of really big 1980s style trends and yet it doesn't seem old fashioned or twee because it takes the viewer to the era and accepts you rather than keeping you at a distance as an outsider. You see punks, the surfer beach culture, metal-heads, new romantics and more. It's just a great showcase and super exaggeration of the styles. The movie starts off with the awesome Cry Little Sister theme by Gerard McMann which is 80s but also has a timeless creepy gothic feel, it's the perfect intro to the movie, setting the slightly edgy, creepy tone and coolness factor at the same time. But it also contains the perfect summary of the theme of film to come. McMann wrote the song after reading the script rather than seeing the film so he was able to get at the central things that are easy to miss with all the cool visuals: it's a film about families and loyalty. Two families compete for survival, one are the Emersons who have just moved to Santa Clara to be with their grandpa, the patriarch, the other is the vampire clan led by its patriarch. The vampire clan wants to absorb the Emersons, starting with the oldest son Michael, but youngest Sam doesn't want that to happen! Cry Little Sister is from the perspective of the Vamps alone though while the film is from the perspective of the Emersons. This is a fun, stylish movie and we had a lot of fun watching it all over again and doing this reaction cast! Comics even have a prominent place in the film with the vampire slaying Frog brothers working at a comic shop and using comics as a way of bonding with Sam as well as finding out how to deal with the vampires. Have a listen and maybe go and watch the movie again.

Hur lever man medvetet?

A sort of macabre Brady Bunch. Or like Peter Pan, whatever you like. Will the Emersons and the Frog Bros. be able to curtail their fiendish ambitions? What did the heck panel think of this week's movie? How in all that is holy can they improve upon the villain's masterplan? And which evil schemer will be christened this week's most diabolical?

In this chapter we find Lucy grappling with society and her own emotions. Her recent return from Italy has opened her eyes to a world beyond the confines of her sheltered life in England. She begins to question the values and ideals of her social circle, realizing that there are no barriers too high for her to overcome. Meanwhile, her fiancé, Cecil, also transformed by Italy, becomes increasingly irritated with the narrow-mindedness of their local society.Amidst a lively game of bumble-puppy with her family and Mr. Beebe, the local clergyman, Lucy learns that Cecil has found tenants for the nearby Cissie Villa. To her dismay, she discovers that the new tenants, the Emersons, are friends of Cecil's. This revelation leaves her feeling betrayed and upset, as she had previously gone through great lengths to secure the villa for the Miss Alans.Mr. Beebe, ever the supportive friend, tries to divert the conversation to protect Lucy's feelings. However, Lucy remains agitated by Cecil's actions, and in the back of her mind she is worried about that the Emersons moving to her neighbourhood are in fact the Emersons from her episode in Italy.

This chapter offers a vivid description of Florence, Italy, and its people. We follow Lucy Honeychurch and her cousin Charlotte Bartlett as they begin their trip in Florence, discussing the city's sights and smells. They are soon joined by a new friend, Miss Lavish, who takes Lucy on a walking tour of the city, introducing her to a more authentic side of Florence beyond the tourist sites. The chapter offers a charming and witty commentary on the superficiality of travel guides and the importance of experiencing a city through one's own senses.Lucy encounters the Emersons in the church of Santa Croce, and in the midst of the tour guides, tourists and locals, we get a glimpse of the complex character of the younger George Emerson, and his father's wishes for his son's happiness. For those interested in travel or literature, this podcast episode provides a delightful exploration of Florence, a city steeped in history and culture. Forster's writing captures the beauty and complexity of the city, while also highlighting the importance of immersing oneself in the local culture. The episode offers a unique perspective on the experience of travel, encouraging listeners to venture off the beaten path and discover the true essence of a place.

When Lucy Honeychurch and her aunt Charlotte discover that they have been assigned a room 'sans' view in the Florentine pensione, the Emersons come to the rescue. She quickly falls in love with the impetuous George Emerson, but back home in England her fiancee awaits her return. In the same way that 2008's Iron man kicked off a cinematic universe, this 1985 film brought about a Merchant-Ivoryverse, where the gentleman were impeccably dressed for dinner, the ladies prone to fainting spells and the poor, well, we didn't really talk about the poor.

// Podcast: Emerson Fittipaldi & Emerson jr. Fittipaldi This edition of the podcast Det ternede flag (The Checkered Flag) has a couple of very special guests. The double world champion in Formula 1, double winner of the legendary Indy 500 and champion in CART Emerson Fittipaldi has in 2021 been seen on the small, Danish racetracks. The reason for visits in the Scandinavian country is the living legend's 14-year-old son Emerson jr. The young Brazilian racing driver is a front runner in the Danish F4 championship - a championship that in recent years has attracted several foreign talents. In this podcast, we get to know the Brazilians' choice of Denmark as the place for the debut of Emerson jr. in race cars, why the small nation of Denmark is a good place to learn to drive a race car and how their experiences have been during the season together with, among others, Emerson's Danish team, FSP. And then, of course, we also get into a fraction of Emerson Fittipaldi's many stories from a long career with great results. Your hosts are Bo Baltzer Nielsen og Bo Skovfoged.

Patiesībā, es tiešām cerēju no sirds, ka šis koncerts izpelnīsies ievērību," atzīst "Sinfonietta Rīga" mākslinieciskais vadītājs Normunds Šnē. Savukārt grupa "Emerson, Lake & Palmer" radās 1970. gadā, bijušajam grupas "The Nice" līderim Kītam Emersonam apvienojoties ar agrāko ārtroka apvienības "King Crimson" dalībnieku Gregu Leiku un Karlu Palmeru no grupas " The Crazy World of Arthur Brown".
