    Ivy Insights

The Intentional Parents Podcast is a refreshing and insightful resource for parents seeking wisdom and guidance in raising their children to know and love Jesus. Unlike other "Christiany" parenting podcasts, this one stands out as authentic, non-judgmental, and genuinely wise. The hosts, Diane and Elizabeth Comer, along with their husbands Phil and Brook Mosser, share their experiences and offer practical advice rooted in Scripture. This podcast has been a blessing to many listeners, providing encouragement and support in the challenging journey of parenthood.

One of the best aspects of The Intentional Parents Podcast is its authenticity. The hosts are not afraid to be vulnerable and share their own struggles and shortcomings as parents. This creates a relatable atmosphere that allows listeners to feel understood and encouraged. The episodes are filled with wise insights, practical tips, and biblical wisdom that can be easily applied to real-life parenting situations. The podcast also features interviews with experts and authors who provide additional perspectives on parenting topics.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its focus on rooting everything in Scripture. The hosts consistently emphasize the importance of having a relationship with Jesus and seeking His guidance in parenting decisions. They provide practical examples of how to apply biblical principles in raising children who are passionate followers of Jesus. This emphasis on faith-based parenting sets this podcast apart from others in the genre.

In terms of weaknesses, one possible drawback is that some listeners may find the content too focused on Christian beliefs and values. While this may not be an issue for those who align with these beliefs, it may not appeal as much to listeners from different religious backgrounds or those looking for a more secular approach to parenting advice.

In conclusion, The Intentional Parents Podcast is a valuable resource for parents seeking wise advice and encouragement in raising children who know and love Jesus. It offers genuine insights rooted in Scripture, delivered by relatable hosts who share their own experiences honestly. Whether you are a new parent or a seasoned one, this podcast provides practical tips and biblical wisdom that can help guide you in your parenting journey.

In today's show, we discuss how our emotions are tools given to us by God. God values emotions and feelings, but we must have them in the right order. We discuss how parenting is a space where emotions come up often, not just for our kids but for us as parents. We go over six big emotions that arise within us and our children, and then we explore different ways to relate to these emotions. How long has it been since someone- anyone- poured into you? In 2023, over 600 mothers gathered together to learn, to worship, to grow, to encourage, and to be encouraged. We are still in awe of what God did! The Spirit moved, the Father spoke, and Jesus healed. It was so incredible that we can't wait to do it again! We want to invite you to join us October 3rd - 5th, 2024, for a three-day retreat designed to pour into you. We know the task of motherhood is both beautiful and hard, life giving and exhausting, and we want to create a space for the Spirit to refresh you on your journey. We will press into how motherhood gently leads us to spiritual formation, how relationships are essential for the journey, and how our connection with God spills over to our connection with our families. Come to where we live, in Bend, Oregon… a place of startling beauty, a place to come away from it all. Come with your best friend, your sister, your mom— come together, or come alone. This is a retreat for any stage of motherhood you find yourself in… from mothers of infants to grandmothers and women who hope to be mothers someday. There will be something for all of you! We all need each other! We truly believe that the greatest gift you can give your children, young and old, is your transforming self. It was Dallas Willard who said, “If you don't come apart for a while, you'll come apart after a while.” So come! Come apart for a while with us. Come, planning to be surprised by God, to find in Him the delight your soul craves.  Sign Up Today!

In today's Show, Phil and Brook break down what consecration means and what it looks like to live a life consecrated to God. They get honest about how it is so easy not to live this way and how we can push against the current culture to move closer to holiness. Life is hard, and we all find things that help us cope or soothe our pain, but it leads us away from consecration and brings us more pain. Brook and Phil squash any elements of shame in this process and bring hope through small, practical ways when we choose little acts of obedience daily. A common theme of this episode circles around the truth that when you give up more of yourself and live a consecrated life, you receive more of God's spirit, which helps you continue to live a holy life and receive His blessings. This work of consecration is so important because what we don't deal with becomes a trap for our children. It is our responsibility to stop sin and release blessings to our children. Mean girls are not just in the movies. Today, Diane and Elizabeth talk about bullies, in particular mean girls. Our culture tolerates a level of speech towards one another that we have never seen before, especially online. It's everywhere, from prominent leaders to our families and children. The culture our children are navigating through is tricky, and the method of killing them with kindness doesn't always work. Diane and Elizabeth share some wisdom about what to do if your daughter is facing a mean girl. What does it look like to follow Christ and also draw boundaries? How do we teach our daughters to hold space for empathy so they can see that there is a story behind each mean girl? And finally, how can we teach our daughters to forgive the mean girl or bully even if repairing the relationship isn't possible? We hope this conversation today will help you navigate the problematic relationships that your daughters will encounter at some point.
