Today is a heartbreaking and terrifying day for Jews in America—and for anyone who cherishes the values of decency, freedom, and civilization itself. The cold-blooded murder of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim last night in Washington, D.C., has shattered any illusion that the hate-filled rhetoric we've been hearing was just talk. It wasn't. For those of us who have been warning that this kind of incitement would spill into violence, this is our worst nightmare come true. And yet we still hear people whispering, some quite loudly, that the Zionists had it coming. This was not random. This was the deadly consequence of a climate that has normalized antisemitism under the guise of politics. Some people think violent antisemitism is the result of the the war in Gaza. We know it's the other way around - the war in Gaza is the result of violent antisemitism. In this episode, which we recorded a few days ago before these horrific events, we sat down with Jonah Platt—actor, podcast host, and passionate Jewish advocate—to talk about Judaism, Israel, generational disconnects, and what it means to be a vocal Jew in today's climate. Check out his excellent podcast, Being Jewish with Jonah Platt. We cover the following topics:* From Hollywood to Jewish Advocacy* The Role of Family in Jewish Identity* What's Going Wrong with Jewish Education?* Jewish Students and the New Face of Antisemitism* Chabad, Cheese Plates & Jewish Hospitality* Why Aren't More Jews in Hollywood Speaking Up?* Fighting Disinformation & Misguided “Allies”In the end, Jonah reminds us: don't wait for celebrities to save us. We are done staying silent about this, and hope you can join us. Don't worry about being on the right side of your favorite Instagram influencer, worry about being on the right side of humanity. Kim St. Onge dives into the alarming rise in illegal street racing, reckless ATV riding, and growing safety concerns in Kansas City. Business owners are voicing fears, and many are pointing to ineffective crime deterrence and political inaction. The discussion also addresses police hesitancy to pursue suspects, urban crime demographics, and the challenges of enforcing laws fairly.

Clo reckons it's close to impossible for Chelsea, but Rach has cooked up a strategy that might just work. Most of us are getting it WAY wrong on Instagram. We think the goal is to grow a “big following.” But what if I told you that it wasn't just about a big number next to your name? Let me ask you something—have you ever felt like you're making progress in life, only to suddenly hit a setback and think, What the hell? I thought I was on the right path! Why is this happening to me?Maybe you've been training consistently, eating well, and then—boom—you get sick, or injured. Maybe you've been saving money and budgeting, then suddenly your car breaks down and eats up your emergency fund. Maybe your relationship has been smooth sailing, then out of nowhere, an argument shakes your confidence. We all experience this, and yet we constantly act shocked when things don't go our way. Why? Because most of us have been conditioned to believe that progress should be linear. That once we start improving in an area of life, it should be like stepping onto an escalator that smoothly takes us upward. We expect steady gains, predictable progress, and minimal resistance. But the truth? Life does not work that way.Progress is nonlinear. And if you don't learn to expect adversity, to factor in setbacks, you're setting yourself up for stress, frustration, and failure. This chapter dives into why we must stop expecting smooth sailing and instead build resilience for the inevitable ups and downs. Because adversity isn't the problem—your reaction to it is.References:“Make Changes That Lasts. 9 simple ways to break free from the habits that hold you back.”Dr. Rangan Chatterjee Brain.fm App(First month Free, then 20% off subscription)Discount Code: coachdamiensdCaldera Lab Skin Carewww.calderalab.comDiscount Code: CoachDLinks:IG:@coachdamien_sd@damienrayevans@livinthedream_podcast YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS6VuPgtVsdBpDj5oN3YQTgFB:https://www.facebook.com/coachdamienSD/
Well we missed a show and it seems we may have hurt the Leafs because since our last episode the Leafs have only 1 shootout win vs Utah and 5 losses, including Saturday night vs the Sens! The team has certainly struggled since the Trade Deadline, and we take a look at what may be going on in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. It's actually been an oddly positive year, with not too many ups and downs, but over this latest segment its sure been hard to pin point many note worthy performances. The new guys are getting acclimated, we're getting a couple back from injury, and some guys are just plain tired! Still there have been a few moments from the past couple weeks that made our Ladies Talkin' Leafs Highlight Reel, so we shout out, a bruiser, a finisher, and a play maker that is taking his game up a notch at just the right time! Then for the Third Period, since we haven't had a chance to talk to you about the Trade Deadline, we give our assessment of how we think Brad did, as well as address some of things we've noticed that are concerning as we get closer to the playoffs! There are a lot of narratives swirling around the Leafs right now, and we're crossing our fingers that they start to turn the ship around and get some wins. Winning the division has always been the goal, and with 16 games left, we are ready for the ramp up! Go Leafs Go! Stopping Things Going Wrong Inspired by the podcast Modern Wisdom and an interview with Tony Robbins We've got something in our day we really want to go well and we usually see it going wrong, get anxious and then it goes wrong just as you imagined. So let's change that by 'pre-framing' and imagine - 'How I would like it to be?' and using the same as above, get excited and curious, and have it just as you imagined. A 5-minute quickie reminder because we all need reminding. Hey, it's Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul. I don't know about you, but I have to say that some of my favorite holiday stories are about the various disasters that have befallen our family events—whether it was a totally raw turkey, or a power failure on Christmas Eve, or an easy to assemble gift that was anything but. Then of course there's the golden retriever eating all the dessert while everyone's in another room, or the natural tree that came complete with natural bugs, or the gift forgotten in the back of a closet. Or the time that I wrote “Mom” on the gift list for my children, then shared it with my mother-in-law and she thought “Mom” was her, not my mother, so the kids got two of everything.
