Dr. Amy and Dr. O are certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. This modality helps the nervous system attempt to achieve its maximum potential allowing your animal to function to the best of its ability. They will utilize a series of manual adjustments in an attempt to restore normal motion to the joints of your animal's body. The science of chiropractic care has discovered throughout the last one hundred years that misalignment of joints (subluxation), especially the vertebrae, adversely alters nerve function from around those areas. Altered nerve impulses leaving the spinal column can adversely affect the function of organs and tissues supplied by that nerve. This altered function can lead to pain, disease, fatigue, muscle weakness, poor balance, immune suppression, etc. Animal chiropractic is the art, science, and philosophy that releases the body's inherent recuperative powers and allows the body to deal with the relationship between the nervous system and the spinal column and its associated structures. Remember, the power that made the body heals the body, it happens no other way.

Do you enjoy selling Chiropractic? The answers to this question are all over the board. For those who never wanted to sell, we offer a different practice approach - the one Dr Gonstead used.
In today's episode, we will be addressing an age old question. What makes Gonstead, Gonstead; and when does it stop being Gonstead? This argument usually centers around technicalities and preferences, but let's look at it from a different angle and see what we might see.
There are many unsung heroes who go above and beyond for the Chiropractic vision, and Dr. Laurie Meinholz is one of those. This podcast is a song for her! Dr. Laurie is a Chiropractor in Decorah, Iowa. She provides management of neuromuscular conditions like back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and muscular pain. Laurie is a 2008 Luther graduate. While at Luther, she studied under Jane Hawley as a theatre/dance major. She then went on to pursue Chiropractic, graduating from Palmer in 2013. After graduation Laurie opened up her own practice. Laurie says, “In my chiropractic practice, I find myself teaching MF to my patients one visit and one concept at a time. I teach them simple things like how to fall properly, as well as body patterning and connections. Teaching these small portions of MF to patients helps them use their bodies more efficiently, avoid injury, and have less frequent visits to the chiropractor. I also use my knowledge of MF in order to care for my own body while working on others.” Dr. Laurie's grandmother was a patient of Clarence Gonstad, and Laurie found her way to a life of service through Chiropractic. She's in charge of the student community for the IFCO and also their Greenbook study group. She has assisted with Mile High for many years. In this episode you'll hear about: The only international chiropractic association focusing on the advancement of adjustment-focused care and defending the rights to practice on that level Our students - the future of chiropractic Ways to lift up the future of chiropractic How Laurie's grandmother told her she has to do what Gonstead did And so much more! IFCO's vision and their support of the Mile High movement has been a tremendous blessing. In this episode the docs discuss the case management of a patient with acute low back pain. These types of patients will typically have trouble walking and cannot function because of the pain they are experiencing. The Gonstead system allows our doctors to get results with these patients because of the precision in finding the misaligned vertebra that is causing the disc to herniate, and restoring its positioning without a lot of force. These cases can take time but with the right tools and an understanding of the condition, these patients can experience great relief without the need for drugs or surgery! There are a lot of important things for the patients to understand as they try to manage the pain at home between treatments. Growing up with a chiropractor dad, it was inevitable. I have been adjusted since birth and I want to share the importance of chiropractic from birth throughout life. Chiropractic changed my life and I am so blessed to help families achieve their health goals by removing interference from the nervous system and allowing the body to function at its fullest potentialSince I grew up in chiropractic, it meant getting adjusted before and after sporting events, when I had a headache, or whenever I got sick. I knew how amazing chiropractic was and, from a young age, I knew I wanted to help people in the same way my dad helped me. After graduating with my undergraduate degree from Kent State University in Ohio, I decided to live out my life's purpose and pursue my Chiropractic degree at Logan University. While at Logan, I wanted to learn to be the best doctor I could possibly be for my future patients. That's when I came across GonsteadChiropractic.I started receiving care from Dr. Jeff Lawlor for chronic low back pain. Not only did that improve, other symptoms that I thought were "normal" no longer persisted. This made me realize that chiropractic can help with so much more than just sports injuries, headaches, back pain, and neck pain! I knew I had to do whatever it took to become proficient at the Gonstead system. I have spent many hours shadowing Dr. Jeff and was a leader in the Gonstead Intern Program while in school. I also participated in a clinical rotation at Logan's Pediatrics Clinic, where I learned more about the importance of chiropractic care from birth.I am so passionate about Gonstead Chiropractic and I especially love working with the pediatrics population. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you and your family. In my spare time, I love being active and social. Jenna Kuiken has a congenital malformation of the hand, this has not stopped her from becoming a proficient Gonstead adjuster. The word movement has a number of different meanings. It could mean moving locations, moving your body (as in exercise), move the bone (like Gonstead), or being moved emotionally. A good chiropractor understands how to use all 4 parts of this word 'movement' to create a feeling in their patients, whether they are 3 days, 3 years, or 30 years old. From the time she was a child, Dana Lee Williamowsky remembers experiencing chronic migraines. When the migraine symptoms would come on, she would be confined to a dark room while her head throbbed and she lost vision from the pain. She was desperate for anything that would bring migraine relief. At age 13, she saw a specialist who put her on migraine medication. She ended up remaining on the migraine medication until age 32. At 32 she decided she needed to get off of it. Part of her inspiration was her mother being diagnosed with nonsmokers lung cancer. She was an artist, and had been around toxic paint chemicals most of her life. Within 10 months of diagnosis, she was dead. Around the time of her mother's death, Dana had a horrible back injury playing golf. She began seeing various orthopedic specialists and underwent 5 different surgeries on her back, hip and groin: none of them having any relief from the pain and causing other issues. It was a major life moment in which she knew she needed to take drastic action to reclaim her health. She decided to get chemicals out of her home and her life, heal her back pain, get off her migraine medication and finally get rid of her Migraines. Listen to Dana's amazing story to hear how she overcome all of these obstacles, the integrative therapies that finally did the trick and how all of this changed her career path as well. Episode 14: This episode covers the beginnings of chiropractic and why it has never garnered a lot of respect from the medical industry. Kim interviews Dr. Stanton Hom, who discusses the intentions of chiropractic, and how all of the body systems are so dependent upon the health and alignment of the spine. Dr Stan talks about his work with prenatal and pediatric clients, and how adjustments during pregnancy can greatly assist in the health of the baby. Dr. Stanton Hom grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles and claims to be a ‘global’ Southern Californian. His parents raised him with a balance of American and Asian culture which included a conservative approach to health and healing. Dr. Stan enrolled in West Point, where he studied Life Science and Mechanical Engineering. In 2010, he graduated cum laude from the Southern California University of Health Sciences. Dr. Stan has a whole family practice in Bankers Hill and specializes in Pediatric and Prenatal Care. He has also found a particular passion and skillset for kids with neurobehavioral challenges. Chiropractic techniques he includes are Webster, Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT), Diversified, OTZ, Biogeometric Integration, Gonstead, Cranial-Sacral, Activator, among others. Because of his diversity in training, Dr. Hom has a unique ability to adapt his technique to meet each patient’s need. He is also trained in functional blood chemistry analysis and for many families in his practice acts as a natural primary care provider. He prides himself on his compassion and kindness, his ability to connect with his patients.
