Juggalo News Presents: The Carnival Grounds with Madd Maxxx and Reverend Television
On this episode, Maxxx and the Reverend discuss ICP's highest selling album of all time and their first ever platinum record, The Great Milenko. This album created the watershed moment in Juggalo history that brought the faces and sounds of the Wicked Clowns to the ears of millions of people the world over, ya boy Maxxx included. This album is very special to a lot of people, and remains in rotation for many Juggalos to this day. It has even seen a resurgence through TikTok where Hokus Pokus has become a viral sensation, introducing a whole new generation of listeners to the Clowns.
Violent J of Insane Clown Posse guests on this episode. Many would be surprised to learn that Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope's first stop on their entertainment journey was in the independent pro wrestling scene of Michigan alongside the likes of Rob Van Dam and Sabu. Which is why it was all the more fulfilling for ICP when, following the realease of ablums like Riddle Box and The Great Milenko, they were invited to perform on screen in both ECW and WWE (formerly WWF). After getting in substantial ring time with WWE, ICP made their way to WCW where they would wrestle alongside Raven and Vampiro on Monday Nitro and WCW Thunder. With a quick stop in TNA (now Impact Wrestling) along the way, Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope still run their own professional wrestling promotion, JCW / Juggalo Championship Wrestling, at events like their blowout music festival The Gathering of the Juggalos.

Enjoy An Album with Liam Withnail & Christopher Macarthur-Boyd
The fourth Joker card in the initial Dark Carnival mythos created by Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J, 1997's THE GREAT MILENKO went platinum even as the record was pulled from shelves by a skittish record company. Protested by social conservatives, the Insane Clown Posse pleased their army of juggalos with a sixteen-track opus bursting with puerile skits, chintzy carnival beats, gross-out humour, inclusive vibes, and guest spots from shock-rock icons like Alice Cooper, Slash and Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols. Regarded by some of as the best album in the Insane Clown Posse discography, this week Liam and Christopher listened to it and now they're going to talk about it. Featuring hot takes and cool digressions on everything from South Park, Motown, Eminem, religion and the novels of Bret Easton Ellis. All that plus Secret Posho, Unhinged YouTube Comment of the Week and an eye-opening edition of Tattoo Woohoo/Tattoo Boohoo. Enjoy! Check out the Patreon! Here it is. What better way to end the year than going all in on the Insane Clown Posse. Yes, we cover their wrestling career. Yes, we look at their feud with Sharon Osbourne. Yes, we look at Detroit hip hop of the late 80s, early 90s. But most importantly, we look at The Great Milenko. There's also a beautiful Christmas gift for all the Bacio Death Trip listeners! Have a great holiday season and we'll see you in mid January. Woop woop. xoxo

We may have the answer! Tune in as Nubs pontificates on ICP being a prog outfit…Toph makes a bold promise around the attendance of a particular event in the future…and the boys plow through this long and distinguished late 90's classic, riddled with humor and depth to the delight of all who are down with the clown. Enjoy!
Phil and Jake are joined once again by Efrem Schulz to rank rap group Insane Clown Posse, actor Gary Busey, and a third topic on the List of Every Damn Thing.Find Efrem on Twitter (@Efbystereo) and Instagram (@efbystereo). And keep on eye out for upcoming shows by his bands Death By Stereo, Voodoo Glow Skulls and Manic Hispanic! If you have something to add to the list, email it to list@everydamnthing.net (or get at us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook).SHOW NOTES: The only ICP song we really discuss is (of course) “Miracles”. The Great Milenko is a devil figure in the Juggalo cosmology - "According to the group's mythology, The Great Milenko is a necromancer and illusionist who tries to trick individuals into greed and other such sins. He takes out the worst in an individual and creates powerful illusions in an attempt to cause them to become hedonistic and greedy. An honorable individual must fight his magic in order to make it to Shangri-La." Horrorcore is a genre that was a big deal in the 90s. It's pretty much what it sounds like. Horror-inflected rap music. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony were initially extremely horrorcore. They had a song called "Hell Sent" about invading hell and killing demons. Looking back now it was inescapable, from the Geto Boys ("Chuckie") to Ice-T ("pulse of the rhyme") to the Gravediggaz ("1-800-Suicide"). It's one of those things you don't realize is everywhere until years later when it's gone. American Juggalo is a great short film about the Gathering of the Juggalos. You should watch it. Busey movies discussed include The Buddy Holly Story, Point Break, Under Siege and The Gingerdead Man. We also talk about his appearances on such reality TV shows as I'm With Busey, Celebrity Rehab and Gary Busey Pet Judge. The Rock is Phil's favorite 90's action movie. People get it confused with Con Air but it's much better. All three stars (Connery, Harris and Cage) go all-out. Jake Busey is Gary Busey's son, he looks like his dad. Starship Troopers is a Paul Verhoeven film loosely based based on the film of the same name by Robert Heinlein. It's maybe the best anti-war movie of the past 50 years but the general public really showed their ass by missing the point. Is Gary Busey in Lethal Weapon? You bet your ass he is. Please direct any complaints about our third topic to @Efbystereo & @thaddius_larue. From their Detroit beginnings in the late 1980s, it seems like horrorcore rap pioneers Insane Clown Posse have never gotten a fair shake from critics or the media. Despite helping trailblaze mid-Western hip-hop, earning a cult legion of fans over the years, and finding major success via their chaotic and rapturous live shows, the duo of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope have been little more than a punchline to the majority of reviewers, and have only just recently begun to receive reappraisal, over 15 studio records in.We at Jukebox Zeroes refuse to buy into the surface-level mockery however, and want to make our own assessment. On this episode Lilz & Patrick are re-joined by Jim Schultz (Rounding out our Old Men Yell At Cloud crossover month: "Old Men Yell At Lilz") to learn from Insane Clown Posse as outsiders looking in. And to get the best possible experience, it stands to reason that we'd want to review an album considered their greatest, thus we dive into a record beloved among fans, and one of several that helped put the duo on the map; 1997's The Great Milenko.Local Music Feature: Solo Sexx - "Love Sexx & Danger"#ZeroScience#JukeboxZeroes#MusicPodcast#OddPodSquad#PodernFamily#InsaneClownPosse#HeeHeeHeeHeeHaHaHaHa

The Amazing Jeckel Brothers by Insane Clown Posse. The Amazing Jeckel Brothers dropped in 1999, and dropped our hearts with it. After the success of The Great Milenko, Insane Clown Posse faced a lot more attention in the mainstream media—which brought more scrutiny and much more criticism. ICP struck back with The Amazing Jeckel Brothers, which features a lot more sincere anger and less goofy clowning. There are some good songs here, though, that are real standouts in ICP’s catalog. And Nathan manages to liven things up with a new library of sound effects. Listen along to The Amazing Jeckel Brothers on Spottify, if you feel like you have to. The Great Milenko by Insane Clown Posse. Cameron and Nathan continue to investigate the music—nay, the phenomenon—of the Insane Clown Posse, with their 1997 album The Great Milenko. Along the way, they digress a lot, ending up talking about mom’s spaghetti and other fine foodstuffs. It's not so much that they don't like the album or anything, it's more that they find it very hard to remain on-topic. This week we address an important question that's been burning at our collective American core since exactly 1989 - are we as a society, down with the clown? While they may get a bad rep, Juggalos are actually an inclusive group of killer clowns and hatchet touting ratchet babes. Granted u/itsyerdad, u/myfreeday, and u/dogboobes have never been to the gathering, and can probably only name 2-4 songs off of the Great Milenko, they've all gained respect and admiration for ICP's dedicated fanbase. Plus, with any luck, u/dogboobes's application to Mike's Sausage Castle will be accepted and she will claim the royal throne left vacant by ratchet regi, the most ratchet Juggalette in the world. Also, u/itsyerdad has a panic attack during Get Out.
