Road Trip After Hours w/ WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long and Host Mac Davis
Headlines sell tickets, but trust fills stadiums. We open with a frank look at WrestleMania's ticket slowdown and the plan to stage a future show in Saudi Arabia, asking the question many fans are whispering: how do you weigh spectacle against safety in a volatile moment? We keep politics off the table and focus on risk, logistics, and brand stewardship—because a global event only works if people feel confident showing up. That leads to a bigger point about what wrestling companies owe their audience: clarity, care, and a story worth the trip. Then we dig into the debut everyone's arguing about. A flashy entrance with no setup left the arena confused and hostile. We break down why a niche character like Danhausen can land big when the lore is seeded—and flop when the crowd isn't prepped. Debuts aren't just moments; they're payoffs. Without vignettes, teases, or a clear target like Dominik Mysterio framed weeks in advance, a pop becomes a question mark. We talk booking optics too: when budgets back surprises over proven workers, locker rooms notice, and morale matters. Great TV needs trust in creative and trust in each other. The mailbag takes us home with stories that show the industry's heart. Teddy shares mentors who shaped him—Harley Race, Eddie Gilbert, Kevin Sullivan, Jody Hamilton, Ricky Steamboat—and what it means to keep your head in the wrestling world while protecting your real life outside it. We make the case for a broader Hall of Fame lens that honors referees, managers, promoters, and trainers who build the ring that stars stand in. There's love for Demolition, a nod to Jazz's impact as a coach, and shoutouts to cities hungry for big shows. It's a tour through the business behind the boom: risk, respect, and the art of earning the pop.If this conversation hits your brain and your gut, tap follow, share it with a friend, and drop your take on the debut and the Saudi plan. Your voice is the final bell.Send a text

Chad jumps into two topics to open the hour: we discuss MASH and the great TV comedies with Alan Alda celebrating his 90th birthday today, and historical TV moments we remember most clearly with the explosion of Challenger occurring 40 years ago today.

This week, Dave and Reese are fueled by an Upside Down Old Fashioned and ready to defend our latest TV obsessions. Stranger Things hype, Thanksgiving chaos, kids recovering from questionable decisions, and a whole stack of shows we've genuinely loved… allegedly. We run through everything from post-apocalyptic hive minds to holiday Jonas Brothers joy, with a few questionable picks that one of us refuses to apologize for.Settle in, grab some leftovers, and prepare your queue. You're bound to find something here you'll want to watch next—and maybe a few things you absolutely won't.
Well, we are completely starstruck. This week, we talked with Cornell football legend Ed Marinaro '73—record-setting running back, NFL star, and fan-favorite actor. From Schoellkopf Field to the Super Bowl to Hill Street Blues, Ed's story has it all. He tells us how Cornell changed his life, why he turned down 30 powerhouse football programs for the Hotel School, and how a purple Porsche and a closet became part of his diploma story. He's funny, charming, humble, and full of pride for the school we all love! Google him—watch the old TV shows and movies, check out his Sports Illustrated cover, and relive those game films. His records are astounding. We loved every minute with him!Not sponsored by or affiliated with Cornell University

How Jeremiah transitioned from making a personal documentary to directing HBO Sunday night TV The evolution of his production company Public Record and his partnership with longtime collaborator Jeremy Yaches Why he treats every project as a holistic collaboration, bringing in his trusted team across all productions The importance of storyboarding, mood boarding, and detailed prep to allow for freedom on set Behind-the-scenes stories from directing pivotal scenes in Task, including a climactic car scene with Ruffalo and Pelphrey The philosophy of “best idea wins” and how showrunner Brad Ingelsby fostered deep creative collaboration How emotional truth and safety for actors are prioritized on Zagar's sets The unusual ways his acting coach (or “wizard”) helps foster intimacy and authenticity among cast members Why joy, kindness, and team spirit are central to Zagar's directing ethos Memorable Quotes: "The process has to be better than the product." "I never expected to make any money. So it had to be a fulfilling artistic journey." "If you're working with NBA-caliber people, all you have to do is make sure LeBron James wins the game." The cameras are rolling, and the medium on the television screen begins to speak. The things she hears, sees, and knows, they can't possibly be real, right? Surely, it's all TV magic. A plant in the audience, a little tip ahead of time, right? But the man producing the show knows better. He knows that the medium is the real thing. She's gifted in ways that defy logic; her magic is larger than what the camera can capture.Today, we speak with Ray Brune who produced the show Life Among the Dead, and learn what really happens behind the scenes with a psychic medium. What's up Bros?! In this weeks episode of the Valley, things are really starting to heat up. Jax brings Brittany into the bar so that she can finally give her input, although we think the only reason he did that was so that he could move the opening day up for football season... Meanwhile, Doute and Luke are still being cryptic about Michelle's secrets that could blow up her whole spot. Jesse tells Jax he'll be shocked if they make it even two more months without a divorce. Things heat up at Jax's mens hair growth product launch when they sit down to dinner. Doute is still on her moral high ground and starts calling out Jesse who is clearly in a mood. He lets us know that apparently his marriage coach had told him that his marriage is basically over. Jesse snaps and goes in on Doute. Things escalate waayyyyy too far as he starts to get aggressive and Luke steps in. Jesse ends up fighting his way through the masses in an attempt to get to Luke. This show is volatile, dramatic, and gosh darn-it it is GREAT TV. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
