It's Thursday, November 21st, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark European Christians faced 2,444 discriminatory incidents in 2024 Observatory on Intolerance Against Christians in Europe released a study this month entitled, “Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe Report 2024.” Christians faced 2,444 discriminatory incidents last year across 35 European countries. Those included 232 personal attacks like harassment and physical violence. The number of incidents is up from 1,029 in 2022. France, Germany, and the United Kingdom were hotbeds for discrimination.   The report noted, “A number of restrictions on religious freedom affecting Christians in Europe have been identified, concerning public prayer, religious manifestations, public expression of religious beliefs, religious autonomy, parental rights, and conscientious objection to military service and certain medical procedures.” 2 Timothy 3:12-13 says, “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” Poland decriminalized abortion Poland's parliament voted in favor of decriminalizing abortion on November 8. The left-liberal coalition of Prime Minister Donald Tusk supports the bill. He assumed the office last year. Tusk has already pushed for doctors to allow abortions whenever pregnancy is deemed a danger to woman's health, even mental health.  Hospitals in Poland are already facing fines for not performing abortions in such cases. Court orders Colorado to pay Christian $1.5 million In the United States, the state of Colorado agreed to a $1.5 million settlement in a religious freedom case. Alliance Defending Freedom helped Lorie Smith in the case. She is a Christian graphic artist and owner of 303 Creative. For nearly seven years, the state tried to force her to promote messages through her work that go against her religious beliefs.  Alliance Defending Freedom President Kristen Waggoner said, “The government cannot force Americans to say things they do not believe, and Colorado officials have paid and will continue to pay a high price when they violate this foundational freedom.” Johnson won't let Congressman pretending to be woman in women's restrooms Congressional Republicans are standing against transgenderism. House Speaker Mike Johnson announced a new policy Wednesday, banning men, pretending to be women, from using women's bathrooms. The rule applies to the House section of the Capitol building. Listen to Johnson's comments to reporters. JOHNSON: “A man is a man, and a woman is a woman, and a man cannot become a woman. That's what Scripture teaches. “But I also believe that we treat everybody with dignity. So, we can do and believe all those things at the same time.” The policy comes as Delaware recently elected the first openly transgender member of Congress. The Democrat seat will be held by a man who was born Tim McBride, who served as American University student body president, but now calls himself Sarah McBride. In Mark 10:6, Jesus said, “From the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.'” Texas Board of Education approves lessons on Christianity The Texas State Board of Education voted in favor of Christian curriculum on Tuesday. Board members voted 8-7 in the preliminary decision with an official vote scheduled for Friday. The curriculum in question is called Bluebonnet Learning. It includes lessons on the history of Christianity and sections from the New Testament.  Schools would have the option to adopt the curriculum with a financial incentive if they do. Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott said the lessons will “allow our students to better understand the connection of history, art, community, literature, and religion on pivotal events.”  Abortion Pill Reversal has saved 6,000 babies And finally, Heartbeat International reports the Abortion Pill Rescue® Network has saved the lives of 6,000 babies as of yesterday. Abortion Pill Reversal allows many mothers to save their pregnancy after starting down the path of a chemical abortion.  After taking the first pill, some women regret their choice and want to reverse it. That's where abortion pill reversal comes in. Using the natural hormone progesterone, medical professionals have been able to save 64-68% of pregnancies through abortion pill reversal. Jor-El Godsey, president of Heartbeat International, said, “Each life is precious and filled with promise and potential that, if not for tireless work of the [Abortion Pill Rescue® Network], might not have had that second chance. What a joy to celebrate this milestone of so many lives saved that they would overflow a concert hall!” Job 29:15-17 says, “I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. I was a father to the needy, and I searched out the cause of him whom I did not know. I broke the fangs of the unrighteous and made him drop his prey from his teeth.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, November 21st, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Wednesday, November 6th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Sudanese Muslims drove 34 Christians from their homes Morning Star News reports Muslims in Sudan drove 34 Christians from their homes last month. The Christians had come to the area after fleeing military conflict elsewhere in the northeastern African country. However, local Muslims demanded they leave since they did not want Christians in the area. One of the Christians said, “We are currently in a very bad humanitarian situation, as we have lost our shelter, and we have children, women and the elderly. And we have lost our livelihoods that helped us provide for our basic daily needs.” According to Open Doors, Sudan is the 8th most dangerous country for Christians worldwide. Pro-lifer reacts to prayer censorship zone around abortion mills Last Thursday, a “buffer zone” law went into effect in England and Wales. The Public Order Act 2023 bans people from “influencing” people at abortions mills. The United Kingdom's Crown Prosecution Service released legal guidance on the law. It noted that people could violate the law near abortion mills by offering counsel, handing out leaflets, holding Bibles, displaying images of babies, singing around religious pictures, and praying, including silent prayer.  Isabel Vaughan-Spruce, director of March for Life UK, called the law a national disgrace. VAUGHAN-SPRUCE: “Today is a shameful day for our country. Buffer zones around abortion centers have been legalized with an unlimited fine risk for those caught waking the obscure rules they set out.” Conservative Christian groups spending more money in Africa Conservative groups are increasing spending in Africa, according to a report from the Amsterdam-based Institute for Journalism and Social Change. The report covered 17 U.S. groups most of which were Christian and known for opposing sexually perverted lifestyles. The groups included Heartbeat International, Focus on the Family, Alliance Defending Freedom, and the Home School Legal Defense Association.  The groups spent a combined $16.5 million in Africa between 2019 and 2022. Over the period, spending increased 47%. U.S. conservative groups' investment in Africa comes as nations in the continent have passed laws in favor of Biblical marriage and sexuality.  80 million voters cast ballots during early voting Voters in the United States headed to the polls yesterday for the 2024 presidential election. Nearly 80 million voters already cast ballots in early voting. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump both encouraged their supporters to vote early. Voters will also be deciding control of the U.S. Congress. Nonpartisan analysis suggests that Republicans are likely to regain control of the Senate, but they might lose control of the House where Democrats only need to win four seats. Daniel 2:21 says God “changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” Early election results appear promising for Trump Initial results are in and early calls have been made. So far there are no surprises. Ten states, including Florida, have been called for Trump and eight states have been called for Harris. Gary Bauer, the founder of Campaign for Working Families, wrote, “Kudos to RNC Co-Chair Lara Trump. Throughout the day, the RNC had a serious ballot integrity effort under way so that at the first signs of predictable Democrat cheating, we immediately went into court to correct the situation. “While the night is still young, Harmeet Dhillon reports that everything seems to be running smoothly in Maricopa County, Arizona. The big challenge is making sure people get in line so they can vote. “There is one troubling area where we still need more information. An alleged ‘tabulation error' in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has resulted in 31,000 absentee ballots being recounted. Election officials made this announcement without stating any results. This is the kind of thing that puts us all on edge. “Florida is the third largest state in the country and they are racing through the counting process. Donald Trump and Sen. Rick Scott are leading by nearly one million votes. In fact, Trump is reportedly up by double digits in heavily Hispanic Miami-Dade County, suggesting he may perform well with Hispanics across the country. “But how is it that Florida can count ballots so efficiently and will have their results in a few hours while much smaller states are saying it will take days or weeks?  It doesn't take weeks to count votes. It takes weeks to cheat. “A CNN exit poll found that the degree of dissatisfaction with the direction of the country is extraordinary, and that should help Trump. Commentators said this was a strong current Harris must swim against since she has been in office the last four years.” Gary Bauer made one final observation. “One exit poll indicated that independent voters in Georgia were breaking for Trump by high single digits.” David Axelrod: There is “no enthusiasm on the ground for Kamala Harris” Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union" this past Sunday, David Axelrod, the chief strategist of Barack Obama's two successful presidential campaigns, said that there is "zero enthusiasm on the ground for Kamala Harris in demographics that [she] most needs."  AXELROD: “The watch word of the day is humility here. When you have polls this close, you're not sure of anything, and it really matters who shows up, because these polls are not precise. “So, what I'm worried about is you're counting on some women -- who are independent, Republican women -- to come out and vote for Harris. Is that going to materialize? Is the gender gap going to be what you need it to be? “Are minority voters going to come out in the numbers, of African-American voters in particular, and are you going to get the margins that you want there? So, there are a lot of open questions. This race is filled with uncertainty today.” 114-year-old Pennsylvania woman the oldest in North America And finally, a Pennsylvania woman is now considered to be the oldest living person in North America. 114-year-old Naomi Whitehead lives in a senior care community in Greenville West Salem. She attained the status after 115-year-old Elizabeth Francis of Texas died last month.  Naomi was born in September 1910 and has outlived her husband and three sons. She's the seventh oldest person in the world and has 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 49 great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren. She said she's abstained from smoking and drinking and also credits good genes. She told New Castle News last year, “I'll live as long as the Lord lets me.” 1 Peter 3:10-11 says, “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, November 6th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Thursday, August 29th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Ukraine bans religious groups with ties to Russia Last Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky  signed a bill into law that bans religious groups with ties to Russia. The legislation targets the Ukrainian Orthodox Church which has historical ties to Russia. Ukraine has prosecuted over 100 of its leaders. Religion News notes, “Anyone concerned with freedom of conscience and belief can find legitimate reasons to condemn criminal charges over opinions expressed on social media or from the pulpit, which has been the case of many Ukrainian Orthodox Church clerics jailed since the invasion.” Australia becomes hostile to religious freedom Faith groups in Australia have been calling for more protections for religious freedom. They warn that people are facing increased discrimination for their religious beliefs. A proposed Religious Discrimination Act would have protected religious freedom. However, the government announced it is scrapping the measure. It is even considering removing religious freedom protections in the current Sex Discrimination Act. Monica Doumit with the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney said, “It is disappointing that there remains very little protection against discrimination on the basis of religious belief or activity.”  New York censors abortion pill reversal information In the United States, New York has been trying to silence pro-life groups, like Heartbeat International, from sharing information about abortion pill reversals. In response, Alliance Defending Freedom is supporting pro-life groups against the state.  A federal court ruled the pro-life groups can keep sharing life-saving information as the case proceeds. The ruling noted, “The First Amendment protects Plaintiffs' right to speak freely about [abortion pill reversal] protocol and, more specifically, to say that it is safe and effective for a pregnant woman to use in consultation with her doctor.” Proverbs 24:11 says, “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.” U.S. fertility rate drops again The latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the U.S. fertility rate continues to drop. The fertility rate fell 3% last year to 55 births per 1,000 women aged 15 to 44. That amounted to 3.6 million babies who were birthed last year, down 68,000 compared to 2022. The fertility rate has been falling for decades, especially since the 2008 Great Recession. The rate increased slightly in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, but has continued to fall since then.  Male voters prefer Trump; Female voters prefer Harris The New York Times released polling data from battleground states this month. The poll noted a gender gap in political preference, especially among young people. Men tended to support former President Donald Trump, while women tended to support Vice President Kamala Harris.  Among people aged 18 to 29, women favored Kamala by 38 percentage points, and men favored Trump by 13 points. That's a 51-point gender gap, up from a 39-point gap when President Joe Biden was still in the race for the White House.  Tulsi Gabbard: Kamala Harris is “afraid to debate Donald Trump” Former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, who just endorsed Trump for president on Monday night, talked to David Webb on the Sirius XM Patriot channel Tuesday to explain why she thinks Vice President Kamala Harris is “afraid” to debate Trump. Listen. GABBARD: “Donald Trump's campaign and Kamala Harris's campaign agreed to this debate on September 10 to the same rules that applied during the Trump-Biden debate on CNN that we already saw. “Now all of a sudden, we're just two weeks out this debate that they already agreed to, and Kamala Harris is trying to change the rules. She wants it to be a debate where they allow the mics to be live the entire time, where she can bring her notes in to the debate with her, and where they will be seated for the entire debate. “President Trump's position has been pretty clear. Where he says, hey, look, we already agreed to the terms of this debate. We should stick with those terms, which is the same rules that he debated Joe Biden under. The fact that Kamala Harris is trying to change the rules here now, just days out from when this debate is supposed to occur, I think it, to me, it says that she's afraid. She's afraid to debate Donald Trump. Her wanting to bring notes into this debate reinforces what we already know to be true, which is she absolutely struggles if she is not using a script, if she is not using a teleprompter. “If she can't debate Donald Trump on the issues, on her record and his record, frankly, without notes in front of her and without sitting down, she's got much bigger problems!” Florida's law banning transgender procedures for minors given green light The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a Florida law can go into effect that bans transgender procedures. The law prohibits doctors from offering puberty blockers and body-mutilating surgeries to minors.  Republican Governor Ron DeSantis commented previously on the case, He said, “These procedures do permanent, life-altering damage to children, and history will look back on this fad in horror.” At least 26 states have passed laws to protect children from transgender procedures.  Chick-fil-A adds entertainment to menu Chick-fil-A has been America's favorite fast food restaurant for nearly a decade.  Now, the company is adding entertainment to the menu as it prepares to launch its own streaming service. The entertainment platform would focus on family-friendly content. Chick-fil-A's CEO Dan Cathy has previously spent millions of dollars transforming over 700 acres of farmland in Georgia. It's now home to the largest movie studio outside of Burbank, California.  100-year-long prayer chain launched hundreds of missionaries And finally, this week is the anniversary of when a Christian community in Herrnhut, Germany began a round-the-clock “prayer chain.” The community started after Count Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf opened his estate to Protestant refugees. On August 27, 1727, dozens in the community committed to pray in turns every hour of every day. The prayer chain reportedly lasted over one hundred years. The Moravian community went on to send hundreds of missionaries around the world, becoming the spearhead of Protestant missions.  Colossians 4:2 says, “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, August 29th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Katelynn Perry sat in her bathtub doing Google searches on her phone. Was there a way to save her unborn baby? She had taken the first chemical abortion pill that day and had decided she was not going to take the rest. After visiting Planned Parenthood, Perry says, she “knew that taking that first pill was wrong,” adding, “I shouldn't have let them influence me.” Perry already had four kids when she found out she was pregnant with her fifth child, and given the financial struggles she and her husband were facing, she had decided to visit Planned Parenthood to discuss her options. “When I tried to ask questions, they were kind of shot down. They weren't really answered in full,” Perry said of her trip to the clinic. “They used a lot of medical terms that I didn't understand.” After taking the first abortion pill at Planned Parenthood, Perry was instructed to go to her local pharmacy to pick up the other pills to complete the abortion, but she decided she wouldn't do that. Her Google searches led Perry to Heartbeat International's Abortion Pill Rescue Network website. She called the number and spoke to a nurse who told her it was possible that her baby was still alive and could be saved. The nurse connected Perry with a pregnancy resource center about an hour away in Lynchburg, Virginia. When she arrived, the first step was an ultrasound to see whether the baby was still alive. “We do the ultrasound; she still has a heartbeat,” Perry said of her baby. The medical staff at the pro-life center explained to Perry how the abortion pill reversal works through a 12-week hormone therapy. Today, Perry's baby girl, Aubrey, is just over a year old, healthy and “the sweetest little girl you would ever meet,” her mother says. Perry joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to share her story and inform other women that the abortion-reversal pill can save the life of the unborn. Enjoy the show! Hosted on Acast. Reprotection investigates abortion facilities that break state and federal laws, with the ultimate goal of shutting them down based on their own misdeeds. By partnering with Sidewalk Advocates for Life and Heartbeat International, Reprotection collects critical information to hold these facilities accountable within their own field. Missy explains that to successfully shut down an abortion facility, they must first determine if a violation occurred, who is responsible, and what the protocol for filing complaints is. Additionally, they need strong community support and the willingness of local agencies to enforce the laws. Despite the challenges, Reprotection's efforts have yielded results, closing facilities and saving countless unborn lives in the process. The Parking and Transportation Services department at Long Beach State is updating its GPS tracking system for on-campus shuttles on the Ride Systems app to give passengers a more accurate live tracking of shuttles. New studies on psilocybin, commonly known as magic mushrooms, outline its benefits as an aid to psychological health. Based on these studies, the cities of San Francisco and Santa Cruz are taking steps toward the decriminalization of psilocybin. Similar studies show the health benefits of other types of mushrooms, such as lion's mane mushrooms, which can improve the brain's neuroplasticity and protect against dementia. LA Metro is prioritizing upgrading its public transportation in anticipation of the 2028 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. According to Southern California Public Radio, around 360,000 people are expected to attend the sporting events each day. Because of this large crowd, LA Metro is planning to extend the operation hours of buses and trains, increase easy-to-read signage, expand existing metro lines and more to make the city as convenient as possible for visitors. California Attorney General Rob Bonta is suing two anti-abortion groups under false advertising and unfair competition laws for wrongly promoting what they claim are “abortion pill reversals.” The groups, Heartbeat International and RealOptions, are being sued because they assure patients that the procedure of reversing a medication abortion is allegedly safe and effective. The owners of a Bronx daycare were charged with the murder of a 1-year-old child who is believed to have died from opioid exposure at the facility. The owner could face life in prison if ruled guilty on federal charges of narcotics possession and conspiracy. She also faces state court charges of murder, manslaughter and assault. It's a post-Roe world and life appears to be winning. But even though the issue of abortion now moves back to the American people to decide, there will still be women who need help and assistance with unexpected pregnancies.Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life, says that there are a treasure trove of resources available for those who need them. They just need to know where to look."There is a pregnancy resource center movement with well over 3,000 pregnancy care centers, pregnancy resource centers, and so typically they are in your local community," she explains. "These resource centers will provide things like pregnancy tests or ultrasounds or STD tests or health care or diapers, formula, et cetera, housing even in some cases."There's also a well developed network to help with finding these resources, Mancini says."The two umbrella groups that you would definitely want to check out are Heartbeat International, which is in Ohio, but many of the pregnancy care centers are under their umbrella," she explains, "Then the second one is Care Net, which is based out of Northern Virginia, and they have a wonderful hotline."We also cover these stories:The Supreme Court rules in favor of Washington state football coach Joe Kennedy and his right to prayer.Justice Clarence Thomas suggests the Supreme Court should reconsider a prior ruling making it more difficult to sue media organizations.New voter registration data analyzed by the Associated Press finds more than 1 million American voters have switched over to the Republican Party.
