(This podcast was previously recorded and published on December 22, 2020)   Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Matthew 24 Jesus says:   29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:   30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.   31  And HE shall send HIS angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together HIS elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.   When the sun and the moon go dark and the stars fall from heaven, know that the coming of Jesus and the end of this present world is very close!   God keeps the solar system in place now but when God shakes the powers of heaven, everything changes.  The earth will be moved and the entire heavens will be changed by God and affected.   Notice the following concerning this earth:   Isaiah 13:13  Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of HIS fierce anger.   God gave me a dream in the mid-80's as follows:   The earth slipped on its axis.  People were very frightened.  The governments of men and the scientists and the religious leaders were meeting to see what might be done about this.  (Nothing can be done for it is God who has made this happen.)  A TV newscaster was trying to report the story on TV but he was so frightened that he just stopped speaking and stood up and left the studio.   What about the 14 plagues and woes of the great tribulation?   (Discussed on this Podcast)   *****   I believe these scriptures show us that the order of the end times will be:   * Many antichrist move into the churches as ministers speak perverse things, and the churches fall away from various scriptures.   (II Thess. 2:3-4)  This has been happening since the death of Paul.  (Acts 20:29-30) Thus the church divided into denominations.  Many antichrist doctrines are taught in the churches today. Many doctrines are opposite to that doctrine of Christ taught in the Bible.   Example: Mt. 5:32  Jesus says: " ... and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery." Churches teach another doctrine today and permit men to marry divorced women.  This is antichrist.   *  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.   * The great tribulation is sent by God:  (Revelation 8, 9, 16)   * Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: (Matthew 24:29)   * Then Jesus comes through the clouds and gathers the church to Himself.  (Matthew 24:30) ***   Specific information about the great tribulation:   God directed me to focus on the following:  1/3 of the earth as shown in the first, second, and third plagues.   Revelation 8:   6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.   7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.   8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.   10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.   (The concept I was given is since "the third part" of the earth was affected, the other parts of the earth might not even recognize the happening being the plagues of the great tribulation.  And many people in this world do not even know there is such as thing as the great tribulation.  They will look to science for answers.)   Example:  In 2020, great fires raged in the Amazon rain forest, and in sand island in Australia, and in California, destroying large portions of trees and land.  The people who lived in other parts of the world might be unaware this was happening.  Therefore some of the tribulations might go unnoticed.  (I would have missed both Amazon and Australia except for fact that I saw this listed on CNN on my Internet.)   Woe #4 when the sun and moon and stars go dark for 1/3 of the time will awaken everyone to the problem.   The primary situation showing the coming of Jesus is the shaking of the solar system by God for then comes Jesus.   So when the sun goes dark and the moon fails to give light and the stars begin to fall look up for your redemption grows nigh.

There is amazing brevity & clarity given the challenges in Crete! MAP Complex issues yet no long book is written - no second book is written (like Timothy). Final comments are aimed at RELATIONSHIPS — The challenges & The celebrationsThe damage of division is the distraction to discipleship! The Great Commission is the evangelistic pillar of the church. Division distracts from TRUTH from GRACE from LOVE as well! Remember that Timothy and Titus are more than Leadership Books (Pastoral Epistles). They are getting back to discipleship books, too! This is why the deceiver sows the discord of division. • Jesus - John 7:34; 9:16; 10:19 • Matthew 7:1-5 (see the sin in others) - legalism; lacking truth or lacking grace• What division is and what division isn't - Disagreeing is not division - Philippians 4:1-3 • A Corinthian Concern (not just a problem in Crete) - I Cor. 1:10-18; 3:1-9; 11:17-22; Romans 16:17-20; II Thess 3:14-15; II Timothy 2:24-26; III John 9-10; Jude 17-19 I. Psalm 121There are some connections with Psalm 91. The idea of shade or shadow in 121:5; 91:1. The word keep in 121:3, 4, 5, 7, 7, 8 is also in 91:11. The word foot is used in 121:3 and 91:12 McCann, 1181. The name LORD appears in vs. 2, 5, 5, 7, 8.121:1 From whence shall my help come?- The word help is m.s. and is used of God in Exodus 18:4; Deut. 33:7, 26, 29; Ps. 20:2; 33:20; 115:9, 10, 11; 121; 1, 2; 124:8; 146:5. The f.s. form is used in Ps. 40:13, 17; 44:26; 46:1; 108:12. “The question exposes his anxiety and sense of inadequacy” Laymen, 687. 121:2 My help comes from the LORD,Who made heaven and earth- Ps. 115:15; 124:8; 134:3; Jer. 32:17 The verb made is used 12 times in Gen. 1-2 to speak of God's creation of all things. “The thought of this verse leaps beyond the hills to the universe; beyond the universe to its Maker. Here is living help: primary, personal, wise, immeasurable” Kidner, 431. 121:4 Behold, He who keeps Israel- “Protection is a burning issue for a pilgrim who is travelling arduously and through lonely country” Kidner, 431. will neither slumber not sleep- contrast I Kings 18:27. The word slumber is repeated from vs. 3. “God is ever vigilant” Longman, 414. “This sentry never dozes on duty!” Laymen, 687. “In all paths of life, he is promised the ever-vigilant protection of God” Allen, 154. 121:6 The sun will not smite you by day- Gen. 1:16 The word smite is a word that often indicates to strike with violence- Gen. 4:15; Ex. 2:11, 12; 12:12. Sunstroke is “a real danger in the semi-desert climate of the Land of Israel” Alter, 438. “By day and by night are frequently used to mean ‘always' or ‘constantly' (cf. Pss. 22:2; 88:1)” Miller, 398. Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney  ...   Many churches today are teaching doctrines that are traditions of men instead of the commandments of God from the New Testament Bible.    This is antichrist in the end time church.  This is the apostasy that Paul said had to come before Jesus returns.   II Thess. 2:3-4  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;   4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.   "The falling away" are churches falling away from scripture.  When this happens the door is open for antichrist to come into the church and set up doctrines of men, departing from scripture which is the doctrine of Christ for the church.   For example:  The Catholic church teaches their followers to pray to Mary.  This is their "tradition" set up by men and not by God.    Jesus says:  John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.   In the New Testament Bible, we are taught to pray directly to God through Jesus Christ.   Philippians 4:6   Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.   Mary is dead.  She is sleeping.  She cannot hear you or watch over you.  No dead person can do these things.  Dead people are asleep.   Jesus shows us that dead people are "asleep".   John 11:11-14  These things said HE (Jesus) : and after that HE saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.   12 Then said His disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.   13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that HE had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.   14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.   Some church people in both Catholic and Protestant churches think dead people watch over them.   The Bible shows us that dead people are asleep.   I Thessalonians 4:13-17  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.   15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep (dead).   16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:   17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.   God watches over us.  Dead people are sleeping until Jesus returns.   In churches today, there are many traditions of men which are opposite to the doctrines of Christ in the Holy Bible.   * For writings on additional subjects, click here:  Jesus Ministries Exhortations Blog

Seraphim in thumbnail is by Shayne Swenson: https://shayneswenson.com/ _______ Fr. Seraphim writes: The most puzzling aspect of UFO phenomena to most researchers—namely, the strange mingling of physical and psychic characteristics in them—is no puzzle at all to readers of Orthodox spiritual books, especially the Lives of Saints. Demons also have "physical bodies," although the "matter” in them is of such subtlety that it cannot be perceived by men unless their spiritual "doors of perception" are opened, whether with God's will (as in the case of holy men) or against it (as in the case of sorcerers and mediums). A true evaluation of the UFO experience may be made only on the basis of Christian revelation and experience, and is accessible only to the humble Christian believer who trusts these sources. To be sure, it is not given to man entirely to "explain" the invisible world of angels and demons; but enough Christian knowledge has been given us to know how these beings act in our world and how we should respond to their actions, particularly in escaping the nets of the demons. UFO researchers have come to the conclusion that the phenomena they have studied are essentially identical with phenomena that used to be called "demonic; but only the Christian—the Orthodox Christian, who is enlightened by the Patristic understanding of Scripture and the 2,000-year experience of Saints encounters with invisible beings—is able to know the full meaning of this conclusion. In the Christian apocalyptic view, we can see that the power which until now has restrained the final and most terrible manifestation of demonic activity on earth has been taken away (II Thess. 2:7), Orthodox Christian government and public order (whose chief representative on earth was the Orthodox emperor) and the Orthodox Christian worldview no longer exist as a whole, and satan has been "loosed out of his prison," where he was kept by the grace of the Church of Christ, in order to "deceive the nations" (Apoc. 20:7-8) and prepare them to worship antichrist at the end of the age. Perhaps never since the beginning of the Christian era have demons appeared so openly and extensively as today. The "visitors from outer space" theory is but one of the many pretexts they are using to gain acceptance for the idea that "higher beings" are now to take charge of the destiny of mankind. Science fiction has given the images, ‘evolution' has produced the philosophy, and the technology of the ‘space age' has supplied the plausibility for such encounters. _______ Orthodox Wisdom is dedicated to sharing the writings and lives of the Saints of the Orthodox Church. HIS LOVE KEEPS US STRONG Our reading today are I Kings 4-5,  II Chronicles 2,  Psalm 101, and II Thessalonians 3.  We are reading from the New Living Translation. Love leads to service and generosity.  When we fail to experience the love of God we grow despondent, we become idle, we do not serve,  and we are not generous.  Working, serving, and giving become hard to do.  We want to take what we can get rather than give what we have gotten.  We can't give what we don't have. That is why we must experience God's love if we are to show love.  We must be filled and grow in our understanding and expression of his love if we are to give that love to others.  So Paul prays for us.   May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.  (II Thess 3:5 NLT) Do you know that you are loved?  Sometimes it's hard to remember that you are.  It takes patient endurance to hold firmly, to that truth. But we must hold to it.   But God's love is exactly what emerges from the Gospel when we look at Jesus and see what he has done for us.  Each day we need to open up our hearts to the Spirit's working in our lives. We come to His Word, day after day, to be reminded of who he is, what he's done, and what he gives us. And what we have become in him. Through His presence in us, we begin to be led into a full understanding and expression of the love of God.  We learn to patiently endure when it seems like the heavens are silent.  We know that this walk with Christ is a long obedience in the same direction.  He is with us and we can grow and experience His love.  Out of this will come a life of service, generosity, joyfulness and hope.   Let God grow you into a  fuller understanding of His love.

KEEP A FIRM GRIP Our readings today are I Kings 3,  II Chronicles 1, Psalm 78, and II Thessalonians 2.  We are reading through the New Living Translation. Stand firm and keep a firm grip. Paul says,   With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. (II Thess 2:15-17) Keep a grip on those things Where do you stand?  You stand firm in his love, and his grace, and his comfort. What do you keep a grip on?  You keep a grip on your ongoing experience of the Gospel, that is rooted in the Living Word, in Jesus himself.  He is the Good News. He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (II Thess 2:14) It starts with the gospel of Christ and it continues in the gospel of Christ.   The gospel is compared to the glory of Jesus Christ.  What is the glory of Christ?  For us, it is Christ in you.  He is your hope and your glory.  That's the Gospel, not just that Christ has died for your sins, as glorious and wonderful as that is.  But the Good News of the Gospel is that he has also come to re-inhabit you, to live in you, now.  This is the truth that we hold firm to, this Gospel of Christ in you.   It's so easy to let that life-giving truth out of our grip.  Other things will come and try to wrestle it from our hands, but we must not let it.  It may be religious things, even, or concern and anxiety about the end times.  That's what this church was struggling with. We must not lose our grip or move from where we stand.  We must not let our religious anxieties about whether we are doing enough, or the many ways we try to justify ourselves before God, move us.   We must hold firm to the truth that Christ has done a new thing in us, that he's made us new, forgiven us of our sins, and come to live in us.  That's where we are going to find that eternal comfort and strength and hope to move forward in life.   Remember where you stand.  You stand in his love.  Hold firmly to the truth of Christ in you.  This is Kingdom living.

Rob shows main philosophical assertions of Universalists: 1. God must love everyone regardless (despite the fact that God hates people too, Hosea 9:15), 2. Thus Universalism is a necessity for man's reconciliation 3. Therefore all judgments & punishments are remedial & restorative & the proximate means to attaining salvation 4. Concluding that hell exists only as some sort of glorified Purgatory that cannot be eternal & thus its purpose will come to an end. 1. Pluralistic Universalism teaches any kind of religion will lead to heaven, 2. Non-religious Universalism teaches that everything works out okay for nonbelievers like atheists, humanists or secularists for their good in the afterlife & 3. Christian Universalism teaches God will eventually save everyone one way or another (the famous author C.S. Lewis believed in this type of Universalism, see our video "Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis is a False Gospel & C.S. Lewis is a False Prophet Loved By All" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDUbq... ). 03:28 - 1. Jesus said of Judas, "The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.” Sometimes we hear that God hates the sin but loves the sinner. This is not true. A. H. Strong (“Systematic Theology,” p. 290) observes that God both hates and loves the sinner at the same time: “hates him as he is a living and wilful antagonist of truth and holiness, loves him as he is a creature capable of good and ruined by his transgression.” See Dr. Rob Zins, Th.M, Dallas Theological Seminary (website: http://www.CWRC-RZ.ORG)Christian Answers Website:  https://www.biblequery.org/   for more excellent teachings.

It is quickly coming into view in our time. The world is looking for a new savior; they are looking for a man of unpatrolled evil; an ultimate enemy that will emerge in the end time and take over the world. He will be a young man who will rise with supernatural powers to rise to power over the planet. He will set himself as ruler over Jerusalem and claim to be God. The Jews rejected Jesus Christ and they will receive him and he will come in his own name.
