It’s time to put weird together, and make it even weirder! It’s not just my imagination filling me with anticipation, because we’re talking about none other than Rumiko Takahashi’s planet-rocking hit manga Urusei Yatsura! And we have plenty of cause to celebrate, because we have passed the first year anniversary of the manga’s republication by Viz Media! This is an exciting time to be a Urusei Yatsura fan, and no better time to officially cover it on the show! Long-time listeners may remember that I previously recorded a spin-off podcast called #LumSquad last year where me and my friend AC discussed the first volume of Viz’s new omnibus edition and explored some of the series’ history there. It’s time to put weird together, and make it even weirder! It’s not just my imagination filling me with anticipation, because we’re talking about none other than Rumiko Takahashi’s planet-rocking hit manga Urusei Yatsura! And we have plenty of cause to celebrate, because we have passed the first year anniversary of the manga’s republication by Viz Media! This is an exciting time to be a Urusei Yatsura fan, and no better time to officially cover it on the show! Not to mention we launched our Youtube channel early in the year, which finally surpassed the 100 subscriber threshold in November and continues to grow. It’s really incredible just how much we accomplished with the show this year even with our short hiatus, and we think 2018 is going to be an even better year for us. We have lots of ideas and topics for the show set and scheduled, as well as exciting projects we can’t wait to start working on. So there’s a lot to look forward to in 2018! Alternatively titled: Dr. Stockholm, Or: How I Learned To Stop Hating and Love Black Clover. ^ I was thinking of making that the episode title but I thought it would be too long. But yes, today's episode is all about the up-and-coming Shonen Jump hit, Black Clover, to celebrate it passing 100 chapters, two years of serialization, and an upcoming anime. Colton never continued with Black Clover past the first chapter, but since the start of the year, he's been working his way through the series in preparation of doing this very podcast. It was a tumultuous journey, full of ups and downs as Colton struggled to decide whether he enjoys or hates the series. And now, three months later, he finally has his answer. I won't spoil his position, but to quote a certain letterer, "Hooray for stockholm syndrome!" Who is this "certain letterer" I'm referring to, you ask? Why, she's only our special guest for this episode, the one and only Annaliese Christman, the official english letter for Black Clover and World Trigger in Viz's Weekly Shonen Jump, not to mention a ton of other Viz titles including Terraformars and Goodnight Punpun. In the face of Annaliese's excited cries of "BLACK CLOVER!" even the cynical, cold-hearted Colton couldn't help but warm up to the series.
