In this podcast from his series looking at some of what's new and notable in iOS 15, Thomas Domville Shows us Live Text, a feature that allows you to quickly recognize text and select, copy, paste, and lookup in both the Camera and Photos app. Here's how Apple describes Live Text: Live Text uses on-device intelligence to recognize text in a photo and allow users to take action. For example, users can search for and locate the picture of a handwritten family recipe, or capture a phone number from a storefront with the option to place a call. With the power of the Apple Neural Engine, the Camera app can also quickly recognize and copy text in the moment, such as the Wi-Fi password displayed at a local coffee shop. With Visual Look Up, users can learn more about popular art and landmarks around the world, plants and flowers found in nature, breeds of pets, and even find books. Live Text is only available on devices which have an A12 Bionic chip or better. In this podcast i am talking about a subject and that subject is What sorts of technology do I use to interact ? I am going into my answer for this question and I am talking about what technology I use and what I use them for. I talk about my iPhone XS Max 10 I talk about my MacBook Air I talk about my Amazon Alexa I talk about my google home and I talk about my iPad Mini pro . I go into what I use these things for and what I use the most when interacting.
Does the iPhone 11 perform better than an iPhone 10 XS Max and iPhone X when using WiFi 6? What about a PC upgraded to use WiFi 6? Is it worth it upgrading your network to WiFi 6 (802.11ax)? In this video I show you the performance of multiple devices - iPhone 11, iPhone XS Max, iPhone X, iPhone 7 and PC - when using a Netgear Nighthawk AX6000 RAX80 Router. Is wifi 6 better? I think so based on my tests. I am getting over 800 Mbps on a iPhone and over 900 Mbps with a PC. I think that is good performance! However, this is in a test environment - your results may vary depending on where you position the WiFi access point or router and what interference you encounter (thick walls, metal etc). You also need devices that support 802.11ax such as a Galaxy S10 or iPhone 11. Without Wi-fi 6 or 802.11ax support, you may not see much difference in your tests. ======================== Menu: ======================== Overview 0:01 Spoiler results: 2:41 Is is worth buying a wifi 6 router? 3:52 Technical content start: 4:40 Unboxing: 4:57 iPhone 11, XS Max, X, 7 Wifi 6 testing: 9:10 PC WiFi 6 network card testing: 12:58 ======================== Devices used: ======================== Netgear Router: https://amzn.to/2RzHwIB WiFi card: https://amzn.to/3aLpX01 Please note that links listed may be affiliate links and provide me with a small percentage/kickback should you use them to purchase any of the items listed or recommended. Setting up an iOS device can seem like a daunting task, but with the simple wizard and these directions, you can get through it!

In this episode, I first do a quick followup to some information about the new iPhone XS Max camera since my last show. I still have some issues and I found an article which explains some of the "anomalies" I've been seeing. Then... I get to talk to a couple of friends about photo walks. Both Mac Sokulski from the Shuttertime podcast and previous guest & friend, Mark Reierson, talk about our experiences with photo walks and how to best take advantage of them when you're able. It was a great late night conversation with a couple of good friends about a great photo activity. Show Links: Miks Media ShutterTime Podcast Mark Reierson Halide App blog Photowalks on Meetup.com

Episode 82 and I've got nothing. Well, almost nothing. A definite off-the-cuff episode though I do manage to chat it up for nearly an hour about the new iPhone XS Max and its camera. There are some nice things about it and one thing that looks like a serious flaw. Listen to what I've found out about it.

The most remarkable thing about the iPhone XS Max is that it doesn't feel huge. It's all relative, of course. And surely Apple's old guard would have scoffed at the notion of a 6.5-inch display. But time marches on. Seasons change and so do minds. Temperatures increase, superhero movies pile up and screen sizes increase, unabated. Much of the perception no doubt comes from the rest of the industry pushing the limits of human hands and pants pockets.
In the 92nd episode of the iPhone Life Podcast, Sarah and Donna weigh the strengths and weaknesses of each of Apple's new smartphones: the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. They'll also discuss how the Series 4 is making the Apple Watch an invaluable medical device.
David Woodbridge and Heidi Taylor join Jonathan Mosen to talk Apple Watch series 4, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
