After many months of hype, the cryptocurrency market is crashing. Last week, the trading and lending platform Celsius Network paused all withdrawals, citing extreme market conditions. Another trading platform, Coinbase, laid off nearly 20 per cent of its workforce warning of a potential extended "crypto winter." Some $2 trillion in value has been wiped out. Today, how that wipeout has been felt by one cryptocurrency investor. Plus, an explanation of why this crash is happening now, and what could be next, from New York Magazine business and economics reporter Kevin Dugan.

Next, Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and we are hearing that it will be more expensive than in years past and also that there might be a turkey shortage. The expensive part is true, but there won't be a mass shortage of turkeys. Rather, it might be difficult to find the turkey you want. Last year, small birds were all the rage because of smaller family gatherings, this year is all about the mid-size birds. Finally, electric vehicle company Rivian Automotive just went public and is proving to be a very attractive stock netting about $12 billion on an $80 billion valuation. Rivian has had a slower and more deliberate approach to its rollout which will also be a good test of the meme stock craze that has lifted various companies' value. Join me and my co-host, Steve Fierros, as we chat with Kevin Dugan about giving back, educating, networking, and the importance of finding the right team. Kevin is the CEO of Altus Investment Group, where he has built a vertically integrated investment firm, including investment, property management, and general contracting. In this episode, he shares his strategies, beliefs, experiences, and pieces of advice. Networking and Building Great Relationships Business is all about the people and relationships you build. Your network can be one of the main reasons for your success. Networking is so essential because meeting other people will open more doors and opportunities for your company. And through these people, you will be able to learn, grow, and scale faster! That is why it is also important to bear in mind that although they can bring a tremendous amount of value to you, dealing with the wrong people might harm your company's image. Be cautious, take time in building important relationships, and look for people who are headed in the same direction as you. The Importance of Giving Back The beauty and power of giving back should never be underestimated. While doing this can also be good for your emotional health, the impact you could have on other people's lives can be greater! No one has ever reached success without receiving help from other people. And yet, some of these people do not like to give back and want everything to be about them, unlike Kevin Dugan and his team, who are big believers in giving back. It doesn't always have to be about money. Volunteering, helping, educating, and providing value are great ways to give back! You do not have to be rich or the smartest person in the room to start doing this. Just imagine that other people would be able to reach bigger and life-changing opportunities because of the help they received from you. However, this shouldn't make you feel arrogant but more humble. Why? Because you must realize that in a certain period of your life someone has done this for you as well. These investments did not achieve their potential due to poor management, operational inefficiencies, or outdated materials causing rents to drop below market values. “Income seldom exceeds personal development.” -John Rohn Today we talk INVESTING… in yourself, others, and of course, business (real estate). This is the first interview of my second PodMax Live event! I will have two more casts coming out after this one all focusing around money. You know how passionate I am about the dollar- how we earn, spend it, and invest it. Conscious consumers are a must in 2020!! Kevin is an all-around investment expert, so I am excited to welcome him on T&T to discuss the importance of investing all the way around. Kevin, like many of us, changed majors a few times, landing with a Biology Degree from UC Berkley, but really revealed entrepreneurial soul when he read the book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, by Robert T. Kiyosaki. Kevin has a wealth of experience in the real estate industry, focusing on building communities and teaching the keys to long-term wealth along the way. He specializes in low income communities and leads all personal and business initiatives with the idea of caring for people and paying it forward wherever he can. Money makes the world go round, for better or worse, so it’s great to know we have responsibility, heart-led businesses people leading the way, like Kevin. Learn about money early folks, it will make all the difference… knowing that everything that really matters cannot be bought:) Highlights: Paying it forward. Learning how to invest in yourself, others, and manage your money. Learn about money and learn early. Get to know yourself and know that all is right on time.
