After a recent new study done by Alex Kruge reveled that based on his reports that by the year 2030, 500 million new investors would be invested in crypto causing a estimated 44% up hike in the market. The long-awaited Ethereum Merge – the landmark protocol upgrade for the world's second largest cryptocurrency – completed at approximately 07:45 British Standard Time. While it will take time to flesh out how the markets will react, so far The Merge seems successful. At the time of writing, ETH is changing hands at US$1,600, largely unchanged over the past 24 hours. In the lead up to The Merge, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin reassured traders that it should have no real effect on prices, so no news is absolutely good news in this instance. Now officially a proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain, Ethereum is over 99% more energy efficient and is on the road to significantly increasing its scalability and network speed. As for Bitcoin, once again the US$20,000 price point has proved itself as a strong support line, with the bulls managing to stabilise the cryptocurrency after yesterday's rout. Without a strong catalyst, we should expect Bitcoin to trade fairly sideways for the rest of the week. The large-cap altcoins are seeing a bit of a lift post-Merge, with Solana and Cardano heading into the green and Polygon, Tron and Avalanche seeing incremental gains. Both Terras – that is Terra LUNA and Terra Classic (LUNC) – continue to spiral to the floor with heavy double-digital losses once again. Other poor performers today include Cosmos (ATOM) and Helium (HNT). Some negative price action in the decentralised finance (DeFi) market, with Lido, Synthetix and Curve all dipping. Celsius (CEL) is back at it having doubled its market cap in the past 24 hours. The native token of insolvent crypto lender Celsius Network is being held up by the #CelShortSqueeze Twitter campaign. #ProactiveInvestors #TheCryptoReport #Crypto #Bitcoin #Ethereum #Merge

The crypto markets held the line over the weekend following a bullish end to last week supported by strong equity markets in the US. Bitcoin managed to hit a three-week high of US$22,000 this Monday morning, although some downward price pressure is being observed at the time of writing. Worth mention is Bitcoin's market dominance, which rebounded above 38% after hitting a four-year low on Friday. Ethereum similarly held onto Friday gains, hitting its own three-week high of US$1,790 on Saturday, although this morning's reversal has been more pronounced, with a 2% drop bringing Ethereum's price closer to a flat US$1,700. The top-dollar network tokens including Cardano, Polkadot and Polygon followed a similar trend, although Solana outperformed by adding 1.4% to its now-US$12.2bn market capitalisation. Shiba Inu, the US$7bn meme coin, was one of Monday's top movers, having added 2.2%; more bullish still was Bored Ape Yacht Club's APE token, having added 6% to bring its market cap up to US$1.7bn. But the morning's strongest performer was easily CEL, the native cryptocurrency of insolvent lending protocol Celsius Network. Activist investors have managed to drive the token up nearly 15% to a US$371mln market cap through the ongoing #CelShortSqueeze campaign. In the decentralised finance (DeFi) space, Binance-based decentralised exchange PancakeSwap was the strongest performer, having added around 5% this morning. In comparison, Ethereum-based alternative Uniswap traded sideways. Total value locked across all DeFi protocols currently stands at US$59.8bn. #ProactiveInvestors #Cryptocurrency #Bitcoin #Ethereum #Merge

About: Dr. Glenn recently spoke with a fellow Vo, Dr. Chris Vo, known as the “crypto dentist.” Although the two aren't related, Glenn jokes that there are so few “Vo's” in the area they might as well be cousins.Chris is one of the founders of “The Crypto Dentist,” a two-man team run in tandem with his pal, Mitch. At the Crypto Dentist. Some people may assume crypto is a “scam.” Many invested have endured a “beatdown”—including Glenn and Chris. However, Glenn notes that many people continue to invest in stocks despite their volatility, yet they don't write the stock market off as “BS.” He knows it's important to remember that “these things are cyclical in nature.” At the Crypto Dentist, Chris aims not only to fill in gaps where knowledge is lacking but to combat the rampant misinformation circling the internet. There are many sources and people to avoid sharing ill-founded advice and even spreading scams. Chris values credibility first and foremost—“I'm a dentist, I have a reputation, and I'm trying to lead my colleagues.” Although many people may be interested but afraid to invest in crypto, Chris says now may be the best time to follow through. He illustrates the example of a mall in which everything is 80% off—would you go home and come back when everything's at retail price? “The time to buy is when everything's on sale,” Chris says, “Which is right now.” Although Chris has devoted himself to dentistry.” He grew up fascinated by technology; it is surprising to learn that Chris began mining Bitcoin in 2017. Glenn recalls the “dot-com crash,” and he notes that although the crash occurred, “that doesn't mean dot-coms weren't worth anything.” In fact, “what it showed was that the cream rises to the top.” That is, the strongest competitors made it through the fallout. As a dentist, Chris often sees his colleagues struggling to figure out how to invest. The Crypto Dentist's mission is to provide “basic educational courses” for those who are just starting to test the waters. He believes it's an effective way for dentists to build a passive income. That's not to say investing comes without its risks. Chris believes the best way to help offset risk involves investing in one of the “blue chips” of the crypto world—Bitcoin and Ethereum. Like all cryptocurrencies (and stocks, for that matter), Bitcoin “goes up, then down.” However, “on a long trajectory, it's going up.” That's why Chris thinks Bitcoin is the first asset dentists should invest in. Chris emphasizes that before anyone buys, they should know precisely what they're getting into. “I'll tell you what's not a winning strategy: buy high and sell low without conviction. That's what happens a lot,” Chris says.   Your security and ability to succeed are top priorities. That's why Chris is upfront with his clients about hard lessons he's learned from his investment journey. For example, Glenn and Chris were impacted by the recent decline of the Celsius Network, a sort of “crypto bank.”This isn't a criticism of crypto's potential, but Chris points out that crypto is an experiment “the same way the internet was an experiment… 15-20 years ago. When you turn to Crypto Dentist to learn more, you'll become better-versed in risk management. Chris emphasizes that “a balanced portfolio has high-risk portions of it and low-risk portions of it”—it's all about finding that spot that's best for you. The Crypto Dentist recently offered a course on all the basics for those making their first steps into the world of crypto. Keep an eye out for upcoming events (and possible upcoming discounts). Of course, you can always contact Chris by finding him in the Nifty Thrifty group or visit his website cryptodentist.net to learn even more! Learn more…According to Chris, what is to blame for the recent crash? And more!
