This week Woman's Hour has featured the Forgotten Children series about the impact on children when a parent is sent to prison. So what do the Government intend to do about the problem? Anita Rani speaks to Labour MP Jake Richards and Conservative MP Richard Holden about the possibility of cross party action on this issue. She shares childhood memories spent in circus cabaret wings, sketching and watching performers she now calls colleagues.  The episode also features Harley Mann, custodian of Na Djinang Circus, a First Nations led contemporary troupe. Blending Indigenous themes with Western circus traditions, Harley explores “identity” and how “failures", both choreographed and accidental, bring authenticity to circuses, blending superhuman feats with human vulnerability. Ending the episode is David Bates, Persephone's father and founder of La Clique. Walking down the memory lane of La Clique's past and its iconic Spiegel tent, the father-daughter look toward the future of circus and cabaret, celebrating its ever-evolving nature and its power to bring joy, and provoke thoughts. Dreaming of a circus life led creative director Brett Haylock to a life of performance, the co-creator of La Clique & Brunswick Picture House has a colorful story to tell

Et si la nouvelle scène du stand-up français s’appelait Instagram ? Il y 20 ans, pour suivre ou revoir les bonnes blagues d’un humoriste, il fallait un lecteur VHS ou une cassette audio. Oui un casse audio, tu sais ce truc en plastique, que tu mettais dans une machine… Mais tout à changé ! Déjà, a peu près tous les sketches du monde sont quelque part en vidéo sur Youtube. Et puis et surtout les réseaux sociaux sont arrivés ! Aujourd’hui Instagram, Facebook et Snapchat sont à la fois le tremplin pour de nouveaux formats d’humoristes. Mais ils sont aussi un outil de fidélisation et de bouche à oreille pour les têtes d’affiches de l’humour. Si Coluche et Charlie Chaplin étaient encore en vie, ils auraient un compte Instagram ! — Un produit d’appel quasi obligatoire dans la profession Marina Cars : « La popularité sur les réseaux sociaux devient un enjeu majeur, pour nous humoristes. Je me suis déjà rendue à un casting où l’annonce précisait ‘10 000 abonnés Instagram minimum’, c’est assez hallucinant » Wil Aime, Salomé je t’aime, El Hadj, Toni Life, Jimmy Labeeu Certains d’entres eux viennent de Vine, plateforme sur laquelle on publiait des vidéos de 6s ce qui est extrêmement court. La contrainte était donc d’être ultra dynamique et de maitriser le montage cutcutcutcut Vine était donc déjà adapté à l’usage mobile Après la fermeture de vine, ils ont basculé sur Snapchat, c’était l’outil parfait pour faire du tourné- monté. El Hadj, raconte par exemple qu’il mettait en ligne des vidéos sur Instagram tous les soirs pendant son service à l’hôtel. Et il est passé de 3500 à 350 000 abonnés en 3 mois. Quand elles fonctionnaient il les passait sur Facebook et ainsi de suite; Quand on écoute leur témoignage, ont comprend qu’ils se sont adaptés aux plateformes et qu’ils anticipaient la taille de leurs sketches en fonction ! —— Instagram, le myspace des humoristes Kader Aoun l’une des éminences de l’humour français. Créateur de la série H et du Burger Quizz. « Développer la carrière d’un artiste qui part de zéro en terme de notoriété, cela représente un investissement financier conséquent.  En misant sur des humoristes qui ont déjà un grand nombre de followers, on gagne du temps et de l’argent. Cela implique qu’il a la faculté de rassembler une communauté, de plaire et de générer une identification du public, autant de qualités essentielles pour réussir dans ce métier » —————— A l’heure où faire rire est devenu une activité qui fait rêver, l’application fait éclore une nouvelle génération d’humoristes affranchie des circuits traditionnels On vous présente ce matin 5 humoristes qui cartonnent Instagram. —————— Les humoriste ces nouveaux DJs Le métier d’humoriste est peut-être même en train de devenir avec celui d’influenceur, ce que fut le DJ dans les années 2000. Une vie faite de cool et de liberté accessible pour les plus jeunes. Et Instagram fait émerger des talents insoupçonnés qui s’affranchissent des pistons et des soirées de galère dans des cafés théâtres déserts. Avec un smartphone je peux me faire un public et entrer dans le panthéon des humoristes. Même si c’est éphémère. — Un format social media Attention, on est pas sur Youtube ! On est sur sur Instagram. On joue donc allègrement avec les moyens du bord et c’est aussi ce qui fait que c’est drôle. Micro sketch en mode selfie. Et puis il y a le format évidemment. Max 1 minute ! — Des Machines à sketch. Très différent des humoriste old-school de Youtube qui sorte au mieux une vidéo toutes les 2 semaines. Ici on est en ligne pour faire rire au moins un jour sur 2. —— Hakim Jemili Instagram > [@hakimjemili][1] > 556k followers La nouvelle sensation du stand-up à la française C’est pas un débutant, attention. C’est même l’un des pilliers de cette nouvelle forme d’humour issue des réseaux sociaux. Il est le fondateur du Woop Gang, un énorme carton sur Youtube entre 2015 et 2017. Et aujourd’hui c’est surtout sur Instagram qu’il oeuvre avec un style très à lui. Le garçon à une signature. Ce qui est très marrant d’ailleurs car dans ces sketches elle tape souvent des délires de voix un peu étranges. Sa patte à elle, Son truc à elle c’est de faire de la caricature de se mettre dans la peau d’une cagole, d’une star ou de nous faire des tutos makeup à la sauce exagération. Les séquences très courtes qui se succèdent, les vidéos bien dynamiques et l’incarnation de 2 personnages à la fois. Et ce qui la caractérise aussi beaucoup ce sont ces grimaces incontournable, elle tord son visage ! En Story, les backstages mais pas n’importe lesquels, sa vie, quand elle cuisine, elle nous raconte ce qu’elle fait « comme prévu grosse haleine de batard rapport à tout l’oignon que j’ai mis dedans » Elle a su appréhender le changement des plateformes Sur youtube en septembre 2014 elle postait déjà ses vidéos en format court (entre 45s et 1min30), face caméra. En 2016, elle faisait des montages grâce à momentica Son Instagram a débuté le 1er Février 2014 avec une magnifique photo de sa tête avant de dormir. Elle débute aussi une petite carrière au cinéma et on la retrouve aux marakesh du rire —— Marie papillon Instagram > [@marie_papillon_][5] > 42,2k followers Marie Papillon est tout sauf une humoriste. Elle est la fondatrice d’un studio photo qui s’(appel le studio Maurice Co-fondatrice d’un restaurant qui s’appelle le réfectoire à paris et l’une des organisatrice de l’évènement le Food Market. Bref, rien d’une humoriste. Oui sauf qu’elle est drôle à tomber de sa chaise. Sketch format instagram : Elle parle avec des objets, elle crée un personnage qui se bataille avec le rouleau de papier alimentaire, elle fait des voix-off sur des vidéos de ses potes… « Corine pâtissienne, c’est comme une musicienne mais avec des pâtisseries » — C’est athypique. Comme elle le dit sur interview Konbini, les réseaux sociaux lui permettent de « compléter, ce que les gens ne voient pas sur scène, ils le voient sur les réseaux et ça fait un joli rond » C’est son copain qui écrit une partie de ses sketchs et très récemment elle a buzzé (ce gros mot) sur les réseaux avec sa vidéo des paillettes. @kevindebonne > 115K Fait lui aussi du théâtre Juste avant de sortir elle a improvisé sur Instagram à partir d’un sketch préparé pr Kevin pour la scène. Comment quantifier le buzz ? Et bien en août son compte Instagram cumulait 500K et aujourd’hui il a pris 900k :) Son compte Insta c’est v vraiment plus des moments de vie, on y voir peu de sketchs car ce n’est pas sa vocation. Le compte entier est un backstage Une vidéo qui m’a fait mourir de rire Elle embête son copain qui dort et lui demande ce qu’il ferait si Eva Longoria venait le draguer. Très bon ! This week’s guest is cabaret star, drag artist and actor Le Gateau Chocolat. With a wealth of experience across contemporary opera, cabaret and theatre, his solo shows have seen him perform in venues from London’s Menier Chocolate Factory to the Adelaide Fringe. He has worked with the Olivier Award–winning circus acts La Clique and La Soiree and alongside acts including Basement Jaxx at the Barbican. On stage, he has recently been seen in Porgy and Bess at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, The Threepenny Opera at the National and Twelfth Night at Shakespeare’s Globe. He is currently starring in Effigies of Wickedness, which runs at the Gate Theatre until 9 June.

How are psychics able to convince the public that their other-worldly insight is genuine? Why do people insist on believing, despite the lack of evidence of an afterlife? Paul Zenon presents a potted history of what of what Harry Houdini described as ’the filthiest profession in the world’, and takes a look at their methods, past and present. Paul is possibly best known as a magician; after several series on Children's BBC in the 90s he became the pioneer of the UK's Street Magic genre, with a number of one-man C4 and ITV Specials. His career has spanned three decades and seen him performing for audiences in around forty countries while making hundreds of TV appearances as performer, presenter nd pundit; the latter relating in particular to his inside knowledge with regard to matters generally considered by the media to be 'paranormal’.
