On this week's Tuesday People podcast, we explore the power of kindness and giving. Too often, we hesitate—negotiating our time, effort, or resources before deciding to help. But true giving isn't about what we lose; it's about the love and connection we gain. Think back to a time when someone helped you—how that kindness made you feel. Now, carry that feeling forward the next time you encounter someone in need. Join host Mitch Albom and producer Lisa Goich as we reflect on the importance of erring on the side of generosity, the unseen ways it changes lives, and the words of Morrie Schwartz that carry on to this day, "Giving is living."  Learn more about your ad choices. I was listening to another amazing podcast from Mitch Albom and his friend / producer, Lisa Goich and it was all about wisdom. A great episode to check out, listen to it HERE.  It gave me so many ideas that I wanted to share just a few with you in this episode. One for sure that it reminds me to be a constant student!!  Lifelong learning is the way to go for sure. It reminded me about a story I shared with some students today from Michael Jordan being “aggressive to learn.” He was bringing up the importance of being coachable and wanting to learn, listen and be humble in learning and working hard. Great advice for life, not just sports.   Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coach John Daly.   Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being worked on too.  Please let me know that you are reaching out to me from my podcast.

Mitch Albom's Tuesday People Podcast comes through again!!  I've always said, Mitch would have been a great “teacher” - at any level. He became a great “teacher” once he got reconnected with his teacher, Morrie Schwartz.  This episode, Episode 209 - Find Your Vine (And Swing to a New Dream) really got me thinking about the importance of having dreams and goals and not necessarily accomplishing each of them, but realizing we become the best versions of ourselves when we keep trying to go after new ones. We become better along the way of trying to go after our dreams and goals.  This was a powerful one for me to connect with in the car & I hope it helps you too.

If it's Tuesday, it must mean that a new Mitch Albom “Tuesday People” podcast came out and I'm not even done listening to it, but it inspired me for today's show. Listen to “The Moments That Change Everything” and hopefully you will get inspired with what is shared on this episode from Mitch and his good friend & producer of the show, Lisa Goich.  My first thought about these “moments” in life, were the people that helped to change my life.  That is what my message is to you today - be a “moment changer” for others, just by being your authentic, caring, encouraging, positive, self.

Very cool morning today (not just temperature wise), where I found 3 connections to a message I wanted to share with you. First came a post that I saw on Twitter / X, where Bri Lewerke  (@brilewerke) shared a clip about how “The way Erica Wheeler is looking out for Caitlin Clark is everything.” It's about an older, more experienced player helping a younger player and where both of them put ego aside to be their best for each other and their team.  I then listened to Mitch Albom's “Tuesday People” podcast with his friend & producer Lisa Goich, and today's podcast Episode 202 (find it HERE)  where they talk about the more experienced actors helping the younger ones in the play about “Tuesdays With Morrie”.  Mitch makes a great connection with just about all the different play productions around the world, where the older actor (playing Morrie) and the younger actor (playing Mitch), develop this very strong friendship - exactly how it happened for the real Mitch and Morrie.  Wisdom being shared with younger people where it changes lives!  Finally, from the book that I read a passage from, every morning, “The Traveler's Gift” by Andy Andrews - comes the lesson on Wisdom.  It reminds us that we do get to choose who we hang out with and learn from, along with the importance the words from wiser people are often like raindrops on dry ground.  They help people grow.  So again, a very inspirational connection here with these 3 things (at least for me) and I hope you are able to draw some lessons to add to your life and the lives of others.

From personal situations like health or financial issues, to outside influences like politics, war and the economy - how do we stare fear in the face without filling our hearts with fear? Grief? It´s a bitch, and some of us struggle getting through it, like myself.  I´m joined today by someone who´s been there, and writes about it in a beautiful, reflective way. Lisa Goich, friend, author, podcast host, and director at the GRAMMY Awards, joins us to talk about her latest book, “I WONDER… A Guided Grief Journal.”   Lisa is wildly interesting woman with an amazingly eclectic career. She´s worked as an international touring stand-up comic for two decades, in addition to working in radio (where I first got to know her), and now as a director with the GRAMMY Awards, where she´s been for over a decade.   But it was a grief after losing her mother when she wrote her first book, a personal account into love and loss, and her latest book is already getting top nods from publications as a “must read”. As an aside, Lisa´s dad passed away last month, and she´s ready to talk about it.   Here´s a clip from our show. We get personal about life, grief, work, comedy, and so much more.   Please join us on #DeborahKobyltLIVE for this up close and personal interview with Lisa. And invite your friends, too❤️

Lisa Goich shares the story of being able to spend 14 days with her mother before she passed away and how she learned to process grief. Episode Discussion PointsLoved ones and others come as death draws near to usher loved ones to the other side. Why it is important to keep talking about loved ones after they pass—especially their funny stories. Processing death (especially when it is unexpected) takes time. Live life and tell people how much you love them! You never know how many lives you touch. How using a journal (whether it be Lisa's guided grief journal or a blank spiral notebook) can be a place to write down your thoughts or what you want to tell your loved one who has passed. Or you can talk to them as if they are in the room. Everyone goes through grief differently. Don't carry around guilt or “I should've called, visited, etc.” That won't help you. Put yourself in their shoes and choose to live life happily—because that is what they would want for you. Why it's okay to feel okay again after a loved one passes. Embrace wherever you are today in your grief journey. Grief is often like the game Chutes and Ladders. Have a list of friends names and phone numbers to call when you are struggling. You are not the only one grieving. Find a support group in person or online. You can also join Lisa's group: @guidedgriefjournal One of My Favorite TakeawaysLisa said, “We all grieve differently. We all heal differently." I love this thought. Too often we compare where we are vs. where someone else is, and that is such an unfair comparison because we are each unique and process things differently.
