Do you remember Louie's ill-fated line of shirts called Louie's Big N' Easy? If so, you have an incredible memory. Wendy never had a line of shirts, which is probably why she found Louie so intimidating. I mean, technically Louie never did either, but at least he was close. Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode, the fabulous Wendy Liebman sits down with Ophira to talk about her unexpected adventure into stepparenting after falling head over heels for a man with two young boys. Wendy, who initially thought kids were about as appealing as a surprise tax audit, shares how her heart—and her whole life—flipped upside down when she met her husband. She dives into the joys, the challenges, and the occasional “What have I signed up for?!” moments of blending families. She describes heartwarming moments that solidified her bond with the kids, like when her youngest complimented her reading voice and the importance of being open and non-judgmental, especially regarding conversations around sexuality, fostering a trusting relationship with her stepsons. Enjoy Wendy's dry one-liners and also genuine reflections as Wendy proves that while stepping into parenthood might feel like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded, it can also lead to some of life's sweetest moments. Send us a Text Message.Wow! This was a fun show to edit, I found some old tapes of acts that worked for me back in the early 90's...many of whom you may not recognize; but all Hilarious! On this show, there are short comedy sets by: Jake Johannsen, John Henton, Wendy Liebman, Kevin Meany, Dennis Blair, Lew Schnieder, John Mendoza, Bill Hicks, and Alan Havey. Really, loads of talent on this show...Enjoy!Comedy routines about family dynamics and tight pants offer rich material for humor, as they tap into relatable experiences and cultural quirks that resonate with a wide audience. The announcer finds humor in the absurdity of celebrities like Prince and Michael Jackson, and he amusingly reflects on his strict parents disapproving of tight pants, adding a personal touch to his routine. His perspective highlights the comedic gold in everyday situations and societal norms. On the other hand, R. Scott Edwards brings a diverse range of personal anecdotes to his comedy, from shopping at Sears to his experiences as a taxi driver and secretary, often employing self-deprecating humor. Together, these comedians create a tapestry of humor that is both relatable and entertaining, showcasing their unique styles and experiences.00:17:19) "Absurd Family Rules: Big Pants Only"(00:20:15) A Dinner Date Evoking Nostalgic Memories(00:24:01) "The Comedy of Technological Fiascos"(00:29:14) "Quitting Smoking with Comedic Willpower Insights"(00:36:25) Amusing Encounters: Dating an Older Woman(00:38:39) Humorous Perspectives: Stand-Up Comedy Showcase(00:40:06) Diverse Stand-Up Comedy Showcase PodcastSupport the Show.Standup Comedy Podcast Network.co www.StandupComedyPodcastNetwork.comFree APP on all Apple & Android phones....check it out, podcast, jokes, blogs, and More! For short-form standup comedy sets, listen to: "Comedy Appeteasers" , available on all platforms.New YouTube site: https://www.youtube.com/@standupcomedyyourhostandmc/videosVideos of comics live on stage from back in the day. Please Write a Review: in-depth walk-through for leaving a review.Interested in Standup Comedy? Recently, Phil and David invited two of their friends -- the beloved stand-up comedian Wendy Liebman and her brilliant producer, writer, director and now podcaster husband Jeffrey Scherman -- to "Naked Lunch." Just days prior, Jeffrey's uncle Richard M. Sherman -- half of the legendary Sherman Brothers songwriting team along with Jeff's late great father Robert B. Sherman -- passed away at age 95. As a result, this "Lunch" begins with a spontaneous salute to The Sherman Brothers, and a discussion of their relationship to each other and Walt Disney, as depicted in Jeff and his cousin Gregory's acclaimed 2009 documentary, "The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story." From there, talk moves on to Wendy's illustrious comedy career and her relationship with Jeff -- and so much more. Wendy Liebman and Jeff Sherman Live on Game Changers With Vicki Abelson I could have talked to Wendy Liebman and Jeff Sherman all night and still have asked for more. What fun! With the advantage of knowing each other for some years, the conversation was animated, spontaneous, and effortless. We talked about the curse of Ventura Blvd and two life-altering accidents pre-pandemic, readying these happy-to-be-home-together lovebirds for what lay ahead. We discussed PTSD, emotional trauma, panic attacks, acceptance, and healing. Armed with great ‘tude and an attentive husband, Wendy weathered what could have been a disastrous 14 months with grace and resolve. And, managed to be productive, as did her caretaker, who did basically everything, and I do mean everything for much of the time. Jeff also managed to stay productive. What the hell was I doing? Binging Netflix, eating crap, and well, this thing right here. We talked grandkids, dogs, masks, travel, theatre, vaccines, and how one Jeff took as a kid impacted musical theatre in perpetuity. We got a behind-the-scenes track of his doc The Boys, about his father and uncle, the Sherman Brothers, masterful prolific hitmakers, and their actual relationship away from the music and the biz. Wendy, a psychologist in the making, gave us the skinny on the seemingly random turn that turned her life around and led her exactly where she was intended to be. Her random, hysterical, off-the-cuff comments bring home the point. The woman was made to make us laugh. And boy did she. Jeff's no slouch neither. I won't tip my favorite line of the night, but I did just quote it with credit! They jointly filled us in on how they met. Cute, as they say in the movies. Their romance would make a great one. Jeff brought it home with a great Monkees story, how he and Micky became best of friends, and how he almost orchestrated TV history. I offered my history with them. Two uber Monkee fans, fanning out. You can catch Jeff's Doc, The Boys, on Disney + and Wendy's Too Tall For TV, on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Wendy-Liebman-Taller-TV/dp/B00IXWFON0 Time flew and we barely scratched the Liebman/Sherman surface. Today on the encore episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to Jeff Sherman, son of Robert Sherman or one half of songwriting team - The Sherman Brothers. Don't think you know The Sherman Brothers? Actually, I'm positive you do. They wrote some of the greatest songs every recorded for film and television. Such as? How about “A Spoonful of Sugar?” from Mary Poppins? Or “It's A Small World” – perhaps the most played song on earth? Or maybe “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” from the same film? See, you know The Sherman Brothers. Along with his brother Richard, The Sherman Brothers wrote some of the most beloved songs of all-time. They scored films and write songs for films such as “Tom Sawyer,” “Bedknobs and Broomsticks,” “The Jungle Book,” “Charlotte's Web,” “The Tigger Movie, “The Aristocats” and many more. Our conversation covered a lot of ground with the brothers as well as their father Al Sherman, also a songwriter as well as the career Jeff had in television on shows like “Boy Meets World” as well as his comedian & wife Wendy Liebman. So pull up a comfy chair, sit back and listen to your youth as we talk to Jeff Sherman for this week's encore episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast. Everyone has a story.

There's no denying the absurdity of the world we live in these days. It feels like each one is filled with intolerance, ignorance, and insanity. It can lead people directly to their local bar, oh wait, it's closed. What's left? Laughter. Over many centuries, humor has diffused tense and fraught situations, which is why we were so delighted to invite the wonderful Wendy Liebman, who has been making people laugh for decades, with her unique style of delightfully disarming and pointedly non-political humor.Wendy shares with us her views about the tightrope many comedians walk when it comes to the hyper-polarized world of politics. If you're concerned that we might have abandoned what you have come to count on, our normal helpings of GOP outrage, Trump-bashing, and of course Marjorie Taylor Greene, never fear, we've got you covered.

NEW EPISODE! Today's episode was a real pleasure for me, because I got to sit down with a friend and fellow comedian of mine who I truly admire, Wendy Liebman. The queen of the left turn punchline, Wendy has been in the game for over 30 years now. Despite that, she just now feels like she's finding her voice, because comedy is always an ever evolving process. We're also joined by my producer, Courtney, who's sitting in on her birthday! We talk pet peeves, musicals, and about how age is the one thing you can't really change. I love a deep conversation, and this episode is it. Give it a listen and enjoy!
