In Part 2 of this week's Next on the Tee, LPGA Hall of Famer Jane Geddes returns for a long-overdue visit, and as always, she brings her trademark positivity, incredible storytelling, and contagious energy to the conversation. Jane shares her thoughts on this year's Augusta National Women's Amateur and the Legends of the LPGA Tour. We revisit her first win on the LPGA Tour—the 1986 U.S. Women's Open—which she captured in a Monday playoff over Sally Little. That week was marred by apocalyptic chaos just short of locusts and the 4 Horseman. You'll hear about that plus how Jane arrived early for the Monday playoff and was sitting on her bag on the 1st tee before the USGA officials set up the tee markers. When asked what she was doing, she said I'm ready to play. Jane also gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how the Legends of the LPGA Tour came to be, reflects on last year's Senior Women's U.S. Open at Fox Chapel in Pittsburgh, and looks ahead to this year's championship in San Diego. It's always so much fun having Jane on the show, and I know you'll enjoy every minute of this segment.

In the heartfelt conclusion of our four-part conversation with 1993 U.S. Women's Open champion Lauri Merten, we explore life beyond the ropes and the journey that followed her greatest triumph. With sincerity and introspection, Lauri opens up about the challenges of balancing fame, personal relationships, and the emotional toll of a life in competitive golf. She reflects on the impact of her U.S. Open win—from newfound celebrity to the struggles of maintaining her game and marriage. Lauri shares stories of teeing it up with legends like Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman, and the unexpected honor of flying on Jack's private plane after a memorable Three Tour Challenge. She also discusses stepping away from the game at her peak and her transition into a quieter, more creative life as a gardener and decorative painter. We also hear about her emotional return for the inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open—dusting off old clubs, finding places to practice, and rediscovering her swing two decades later. Through highs and lows, her enduring love for the game and her authenticity shine through. As we close, Lauri answers our signature final three questions with honesty and grace, sharing what she might have done differently, where she'd take a career mulligan, and how she hopes to be remembered—not just as a major champion, but as someone who cared deeply for others and stayed true to herself. This episode is a powerful reminder that the stories behind the trophies are often the most inspiring of all.

Come and join the conversation with the incredible Marie Morice, Senior Women's Health Adviser. Marie is passionate about helping women in multiple areas of their lives! With a background in the corporate world for the past 25 years, Marie started her career in Sustainability, specifically finance and was eco centered in her approach, with an ethos to help businesses and corporations to be sustainability focused and drive change. Previously working at the United Nations (UN), Marie began to realise her own need for wanting to make an impact on a more personal level aside from the global one! Retraining as a life coach, Marie tells me how her business evolved, and she started to notice a common theme appearing with her coaching clients. It was then that she realised she wanted to niche down even further and went back to training with an intensive course at Master Level in intimacy and womens wellness. Fuelled by both her passions to help on a one to one basis and to be making a difference, Marie tells me how her focus for 2025 is to concentrate on the corporate space. Helping organisations to be providing their workforces with safe spaces to have open conversations and really help their employees. Marie gives me a fascinating insight into how she works, not only with private clients, but designing programmes for corporates that are all centered around womens wellness. A seasoned speaker, she has spoken about topics from global issues such a climate change, right through to menopause issues at work. Now bringing her expertise into the workplace, Marie is the perfect choice for corporations when it comes to having their finger on the pulse surrounding womens issues and how they can make sure that their female workforce feels supported. Determined to be at the forefront of changing the narrative when it comes to having previously taboo conversations, Marie tells me about her drive to make changes for women in their working lives. Whether that be through lunch and learn sessions, undertaking training programmes for managers, or offering long term support for private sector organisations, Marie is poised to deliver much needed support and fresh and exciting perspective! She opens up about the well known existing gap, whether that's pay related or lack of support in the UK, there's a shocking statistic that she shares, it will blow your mind! Drawing on her corporate experience, Marie can not only provide support for the employees, she is also able to see the impact on the business itself if these issues aren't addressed. Talking to me about productivity, it's clear that there's a glaring correlation between workplace wellness and company standing, no wonder she is so passionate about plugging that gap for organisations! Extremely well versed on her subject, we chat about the impact of our new government and what that means in terms of responsibility with womens wellness. We talk about the new policy changes that are coming into force soon and how she is working with leaders in order to make sure that they are compliant in implementing the new policies, and most importantly how they are going to make them sustainable and viable in the long term. Marie is extremely honest and opens up about her own experiences of the stigma attached to certain workplace conversations. She bravely tells me about an incident that happened to her in the boardroom, and only wishes that the work that she is now doing was available for her at that time. I think that's why she is so determined to make a difference, she has been on the receiving end of this stigma, has had her own struggles, and is steadfast in her mission to make womens health and wellness a key priority in the workplace. We chat about midlife, the importance of women not being overlooked and the impact that it has on businesses when this does happen. Marie is at the forefront of such important conversations right now! A true Yes SHE Can guest!

Finally the chance to chop it up with Canadian basketball royalty, the former Women's National Team Coach, SFU women's dynasty, high school and all in between as we have none other than Allison McNeill with us for Episode 143! If for some reason you don't know Allison's story then let us remind you…..as a player- back-to-back Championships in both high school AND University, transferred to Division 1 Oregon, and played pro ball overseas. Life certainly changed for Allison when she made the move to Salmon Arm, where her and Bev Smith created a women's high school dynasty, from there her hoops life took off! Once playing wrapped up at the University of Oregon and a short stint overseas, Allison came back home and found herself in Revelstoke with a teaching and coaching job, knowing for a long time that she wanted to become a coach. From there she continued to develop her craft, watching the National team practice on VHS and in person, building her notes and helping grow the game anyway she possibly could. After she moved to the lower mainland and coached at a couple of high schools the job came open at Simon Fraser University, she applied, got the job and never looked back. The mid 80's and 90's “up on the hill” found fantastic hoopers and people come through the program, all while being Nationally ranked at the NAIA level along the way! Allison (alongside her lifelong partner and amazing hoops brain Mike) was then appointed the Senior Women's National Team job after a couple of experiences with the student and junior teams. She takes great pride in the time put in with the program, watching the women climb in the world rankings with the pinnacle being a trip to the 2012 Olympics! There were so many things that almost stopped me along the way, and my goal is to help stop the things that are stopping you from discovering what you are truly capable of! I sit down with Sue Wooster, the number one female senior golfer over 60 in the world. Listen in as we discuss her winning mindset and approach to the game! Fresh from the Senior Women's Amateur at Scottsdale, Sue talks about how she prepared for the championship a year in advance. She gives her insights into the importance of short game and successful putting, and reflects on overcoming her crippling self-doubt leading up to the tournament. Sue gets candid about handling pressure, and the emotional highs and lows of match play up to the moment she made it to her third final at a USGA Senior Women's Amateur tournament. She also explains how she maintains her swing speed and the role of the Stack System in improving her game. About the USGA U.S. Senior Women's Amateur: The U.S. Senior Women's Amateur is a prestigious golf tournament for female amateur golfers aged 50 and older, featuring both stroke play and match play rounds. We are back! And I'm spilling all the “T” on where the 2024 Creek Cup is and where our 2024 October Tournament will be hosted!! I sit down with Kathy Hart Wood, a New Jersey-based golf instructor and confidence coach who helps players overcome the mental obstacles that interfere with performance. We get into how our brains can be either our biggest asset or biggest barrier in golf, discussing the importance of effective instruction and how it can be tailored to resonate with different learners. “The fastest way to get better is to manage your mind first,” says Kathy. “Don't wait to become a certain handicap before you decide to work on your brain and how you think out on the course. Work on it now.” Kathy and I dive into her three biggest takeaways on caddying for USGA events: being prepared mentally for the pace of play, understanding group dynamics, and setting up your course conditions. Maintaining efficiency on the course is largely a matter of being mindful of time taken between shots and getting familiar with the personalities and play styles of slower players in the group. For USGA tournaments specifically, Kathy brings up the “one butt rule” which states that in a player and caddy team, only one person can be seated in the cart at any given time. This means if the player is sitting down, the caddy cannot. Violating this rule can potentially lead to penalties. On the other hand, it can contribute to cooperation, particularly in deciding who gets the single cart in a group. About the Guest: Kathy Hart Wood is ranked as one of LPGA Teaching and Club Professional's Top 50 LPGA Teachers. She is the creator of The Groove, a golf instruction membership site that offers a resource for golfers learning and improving in the game. Kathy is also a Confidence Coach who helps players overcome the mental obstacles that interfere with performance. She offers coaching in group workshops and individual formats.   T-Time After-Show with Kim Eaton  We discuss… How to deal with someone in your group who is playing on the slower side, in order to maintain pace of play. How strict the USGA tends to be regarding pace of play. Our thoughts on arguments over the single cart at USGA events. What players discussed at the clubhouse during stroke play and match play following Kim's round. How Kim's golf game changed following her recent injuries. Greenside bunker shots. How to qualify for the USGA U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Golf Championship.
