In today's episode of Courage to Advance, brought to you by SparkEffect, Kim Bohr and Tracy Wik, VP of Business Strategy at Harrison Assessments, challenge traditional approaches to workplace stress. Drawing from decades of behavioral data and leadership experience, they expose how burnout often stems from unconscious behavioral patterns rather than workload alone. With 83% of U.S. workers suffering from workplace stress and 76% saying it affects their personal relationships, organizations continue investing in wellness programs and workload reduction—yet engagement and productivity still suffer. Why? They're treating symptoms, not causes.Kim and Tracy demonstrate how our greatest strengths—whether being extraordinarily helpful, highly empathetic, or achievement-driven—can become our biggest derailers when overused. Drawing from Dr. Dan Harrison's research on leadership paradoxes, they reveal how balancing seemingly contradictory behaviors is essential for sustainable leadership success. You'll discover:Why high performers unknowingly sabotage their effectivenessThe critical difference between personality traits and behavioral tendenciesPractical strategies for breaking the burnout cycleHow to develop a more expansive leadership repertoireDon't miss the special offer for listeners to access the Harrison Assessment tool, complete with a professional debrief. Today we're talking to Megan Rempel all about working WITH your cycle to get more done! Megan shares how she learned about “cycle thinking” and how it all makes sense once you learn it!She breaks down the four phases of our cycle by comparing them to the four seasons – spring (follicular), summer (auditory), fall (luteal) and winter (menstrual). We learn about the energy we feel during each phase and how we can work WITH that energy to feel more in alignment with ourselves.Megan shares how she plans her months based on her cycle. She starts by blocking off her menstrual phase in RED – no high energy activities during that time! Then, she blocks her ovulatory phase in green. This is when she knows she'll have the energy to do lots of things! From here, she shares how, as a woman in business, she uses the phases of her cycle to plan her calendar. It's her SUPERPOWER!She then explains how our cycle affects the foods our bodies need and crave each during each phase and how we can use foods to combat PMS symptoms. It's not surprising that here on the Feminine Fire podcast, we're NOT about the patriarchy and all the patriarchal BS that goes on in our society. One of those things is this idea of what it means to be “productive”.We live in a society that expects us to be ON all the time, to be showing up with the same high energy every single day, to go go go without much concern for downtime or rest.Did you know this is because our society has been designed around the male 24 hour hormone cycle? The expectation that we can all show up in the same way every single day is based on the way men's bodies are designed.NOT women's bodies. NOT menstruating people's bodies. The female hormone cycle is 28 DAYS or more. That means our hormones, our energy, the way our brain functions, looks different across the month. And we're trying to fit our 28 day cycle into a 24 hour cycle. It just doesn't work and to be honest, kinda fucks us up in all of the ways – physically, mentally, emotionally. But all is not lost. If you've ever heard of cyclical living and wondered what it is, or how to actually apply it to your life and business – then this is the episode for you.AND you're going to love my guest today – let me introduce my beautiful friend and past client, Jess Curreri.Jess is a cyclical business coach supporting soulful businesswomen to create business success, sustainability & spaciousness by tapping into the power of their cycle. She is passionate about supporting her clients to create impact & income with ease while living the lifestyle of their dreams, and to embrace a more feminine & nourishing way of doing business that gives them more consistency, energy, and efficiency plus plenty of time for rest & play.My aim for this episode is to make it super practical and applicable for you. So I ask Jess to give us some practical tools and tips to implement what she's shared. Tips that are so simple, so easy. Things You'll Learn In This Episode of Feminine FireHow your menstrual cycle can impact your life and business in ways that you might not even realise or questionThe four phases of your cycle and the business tasks to focus on during those times, including what this can look like if you don't currently have a menstrual cycleHow to balance external commitments and opportunities around your cycle Connect with JessFollow Jess on Instagram  Listen to the Embolden Podcast hereDownload the FREE Ebook: Release Rest Guilt to create space for your Success.Find out more on Jess's websiteResources from today's episode Stardust AppAlisa Vitti ~ Flo Living Dr Aviva Romm Want More?WebsiteInstagramDiscover your Goddess Business Archetype

What does the menstrual cycle have to teach us - about the nature of ourselves, as well as the importance of living in a cyclic manner? On the latest episode I discuss this with Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer, co-founders of the Red School, which is dedicated to restoring the power of the menstrual cycle and menopause. Via Red School, Alexandra and Sjanie are pioneering the emerging field of menstruality with a vision that menstrual cycle awareness and conscious menopause are prioritized in every boardroom, classroom and dinner‐table discussion on the planet. Alexandra and Sjanie are also the co-authors of two life-changing books: Wild Power: Discover the Magic of Your Menstrual Cycle and Awaken the Feminine Path to Power; and Wise Power: Discover the Liberating Power of Menopause to Awaken Authority, Purpose and Belonging. During our discussion we explore:  Alexandra and Sjanie's individual spiritual experiences growing up, and how each informed their current work with the menstrual cycleThe "exquisite intimacy" of the Sacred Feminine, as Alexandra refers to itHow honoring the menstrual cycle is a spiritual practice in and of itselfThe importance of making 1% shifts as we begin to bring cyclic awareness into our livesThe message and meaning of pain as part of the menstrual cycleHow menstrual cycle awareness can teach us to live in a more equitable, sustainable mannerShow Notes:If you'd like to know whose ancestral tribal lands you currently reside on, you can look up your address here: https://native-land.ca/My book, “Home to Her: Walking the Transformative Path of the Sacred Feminine,” is now available Womancraft Publishing!
