Migrating warblers are heading back to our backyards and patches, and included among that wonderful diversity come the weirdo “winged” warblers, Golden and Blue, whose intermixed genetics have long been fascinating and confusing. We welcome Nick Block, professor of biology at Stonehill College in Massachusetts, as well as Matt Hale, professor of biology at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, the authors of an article covering the current state of winged warblers, published in the most recent issue of North American Birds to talk about them. Also, a Cuban dove is now the poster-bird for ancient biogeography. One of the most popular episodes we've ever had on It's All True? was when super popular Matt Hale hypnotised George. The outcome was hilarious. A must listen AND then watch the episode on YouTube.. So the team decided it was time to get Matt back on the show and this time Chezzi put her hand up to be hypnotised. A little skeptical at first, it didn't take long for Chezzi to fall deep under and the result was unbelievable. Even Grant who was sitting next to her throughout was shocked at how well it worked. So did Chezzi remember the experience? You've got to listen to the full episode to hear her describe what it feels like to be hypnotised and why she's now a believer! Divorce lawyers traditionally advised their clients to fight for sole custody of children, especially when their client was the mother. It's time to put that tradition behind us. On this episode of Divorce, Healthy!, National Parents Organization (NPO) board members Matt Hale and Don Hubin, as well as family lawyer and children's book author Kelly Chang Rickert, talk about the benefits of shared parenting. The NPO is responsible for issuing a https://www.sharedparenting.org/2014-shared-parenting-report (state-by-state report card) for the nation's first comprehensive review of child custody statutes as they relate to shared parenting. When Matt Hale began the Kentucky chapter, the state had a low rating for child custody laws. But in 2017, Kentucky passed House Bill 492, the https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48321 (Equal Parenting Presumption During Temporary Orders). The next year, in 2018, it passed the https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48320 (Equal Parenting Presumption for Final Orders), which mandates that shared parenting is the gold standard for a child's best interest. Thanks to these efforts, the state now recognizes and celebrates https://andrewfhenderson.com/2019/05/30/kentucky-becomes-first-us-state-to-have-shared-parenting-day/ (Shared Parenting Day) each year. It was NPO President Don Hubin who advised Matt on his dealings with the Kentucky legislature. “NPO is child-focused and research-based. We're trying to improve the system. We're trying to reduce the contentiousness of divorce,” Don says. In fact, the organization has more than 40 years of research to support their argument for shared parenting. Kelly Chang Rickert also has years of research and experience in her wheelhouse as a family law expert. Her passion even inspired her to write a children's book, “https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/two-adventures-with-mom-and-dad-kelly-chang-rickert/1137907252 (Two Adventures with Mom and Dad),” which encourages shared parenting. Is your fear of failure and your inner critic keeping you from pursuing your goals? One of the key ingredients for growth is being open to failure. In this episode we delve into the ‘Power of Probably'. Telling yourself “I can probably do that” instead of “I wish I could do that” changes your mindset on how to approaches things that are out of reach. Although you will prove yourself wrong plenty of times, by being on the other side of “probably” you will have far more wins and open up more opportunities. When you entertain the chance of failure, you remove its power. When you fail, you learn things in the process. So the next time you have a goal that you want to achieve, tell yourself, “I can probably do that.” TOPICS WE DISCUSSED INCLUDE: Intentionally putting joy into your day (6:51) Giving things a go (14:33) The Power of Probably (14:56) Positive visualization (16:37) Being open to possibilities and thinking outside the box (17:32) The pattern forming of your brain (18:23) Visualization (19:36) The inner critic (21:25) Belittling your inner critic (23:00) You don't have to be a victim of your thoughts (28:47) CONNECT WITH MATT HALE Visit Matt's Website CONNECT WITH ELAINA MULLERY HappyNurse.com.au Connect with me on Instagram and Facebook Connect with me on LinkedIn Subscribe to my Youtube channel

Matt Hale is usually entertaining us with some on stage antics BUT with stages closed he's still been able to find a way to enrich our lives with the free audio program he's released.
Matt Hale is my guest today. Matt is a Hypnotist and Speaker, and has never been the type for doing things the conventional way, By the tender age of just 15, Matt was already establishing himself as a radio and club DJ in the UK where he grew up. At 18 he turned down a university place offer to go club DJing in the Greek Islands!By his twenties he was rocking the airwaves as a presenter on a UK breakfast radio show. Then in the spirit of adventure, and a romantic encounter, Matt was prompted to move half way around the world to a new life on the sunny shores of Australia. Within months he’d landed a spot as a comedy writer in radio, eventually moving on as a highly popular producer and presenter for another radio station (winning 3 coveted national awards along the way), and later as a presenter for a popular TV travel show. Somewhere in the middle of all this, was a year of traveling the world as ‘Crap Elvis.’ Then an interest of Matt’s hit the spotlight and forever changed his life. Backstory: At Matt’s 21st birthday party there was a hypnotist. Ever since then he’d been fascinated by the idea of what the human mind could achieve if given the right environment and encouragement. Naturally, Matt being Matt, thought, “I bet I could do that” And so he did! Matt went out and found the best teachers in the world. He crafted, re-crafted and perfected the perfect stage presentation—earning rave review after rave review from audiences around the world. Now he takes attendees to new heights of productivity and performance with some clever mind hacks, and possibly make their faces ache from laughter! Matt’s favourite past-times are surfing, snowboarding and travelling with his partner, Kathryn. Matt lives in Western Australia. What goes on behind the scenes at one of English football’s best youth academies? Despite the struggles of the first team this Premier League season, Southampton FC are widely admired for their investment in youth development and not only is their first team specked with self-produced talent but their handiwork is evident across the English top flight as well as the England men’s national team as it heads into this summer’s Fifa World Cup in Russia. Back in February, the Leaders Performance Podcast was invited to the inner sanctum to chat to Southampton’s Academy Manager, Matt Hale, and his colleague Edd Vahid, who is the Head of Coaching and Learning at the Academy. The pair described the set-up at their Staplewood Campus on England’s south coast before explaining what qualities they seek in recruits between the ages of eight and 23. Also on the agenda that morning were: The creation of a vision and purpose in young recruits; The Southampton Way and being a 24-hour professional; Preparing young players for high intensity environments; Southampton’s provision of education and skills programmes; Why the club regularly refines its academy process; Previous Episode: Ep 23: Leaders Performance Podcast: Chris Weidman & Ray Longo Listen to the round-up below and subscribe today on iTunes, Stitcher and Overcast, or your chosen podcast platform.

Matt Hale of Divvi is the first speaker in the second half of the conversation we began last week. Divvi is a Sydney based decentralized energy market startup. The huge scale of residential solar deployment makes Australia a uniquely appropriate environment for this kind of solution. Secondly Luke Anderson, describes the dilemma of selecting blockchain as an appropriate solution to a problem. The Sydney Ethereum community is huge, possibly the largest geographically concentrated group of Eth heads in the world. It’s a geographical location well worth paying attention to.
