There's a quiet unraveling that can happen in the name of doing it all. You wake up one morning feeling like a shadow of yourself—your schedule's full, your to-do list is long, but your soul feels thin. You're showing up, sure… but not from a place of wholeness. “Something has to shift”, you think. In today's episode of Let's Be Cleere, I'm joined by my dear friend Alyssa Joy Bethke—author, mama (now to four!), podcast host, and truth-teller whose life is such an example of what it means to steward what matters and learn to release what doesn't. Her newest book When Doing It All Is Undoing You has been an anchor for countless women feeling stretched, worn, and quietly wondering, “Is this how it's supposed to feel?”Together, we talk about the ache and glory of motherhood, the refining nature of life's transitions, and the sacred undoing that often comes before deep healing. Alyssa shares what it looks like to embrace slow rhythms in a world that tells us to run faster—and how rest, surrender, and small faithfulness are often the truest signs of strength.Whether you're in a season of busyness, transition, or simply trying to breathe deeper and live slower, this episode will meet you there—with gentleness, wisdom, and the invitation to lay it all down.✨ In this episode, we explore: • How undoing can be the beginning of healing • The myth of balance and the beauty of surrender • Her CRAZY, miraculous birth story of her fourth, Jayden (you won't want to miss this one!) • Rhythms of renewal in the thick of motherhood • Why your worth was never meant to be earnedThis one feels like a deep breath. A reminder that less really can be more, and that you're already deeply loved right where you are.More from Alyssa Joy Bethke:

The Everyday Bible Study | January 13 | A Miraculous Birth
Message from Dave Brown on December 29, 2024
The birth of Jesus was a miracle in more than one way. Between the end of the Old Testament and beginning of the New Satan's attempts to destroy Israel and the line of David prior to Christ seemed to escalate. This message tells some of the story what happened to Israel during those years.
Continuing our advent sermon series titled 'Christmas Foretold', Pastor Myron shares from Isaiah 7:1-16, a sermon titled 'The Miraculous Birth Foretold'. If you need support or encouragement, or would like to learn more about how to begin a relationship with Jesus, please reach out to the church or email help@hhachurch.com.
Luke 1:26-38. The Miracle of Christmas and the Invitation of Faith
Luke 1:26-38 The miraculous birth of Jesus Christ was brought about by the mostly unlikely and miraculous means and circumstances. This Christmas, allow the wonder of His birth transform your understanding and your life by producing in you the miracle of new birth and life that He came to give you.
Luke 1:26-38 The birth of Jesus wasn’t just a historical event but a divine intervention that changed everything. Jesus’ birth brings light to the darkness as it is a message of hope that promises new life for all who trust in Him. It shows us that God’s plans often come through the most unexpected people and places. This Christmas, we are reminded that the story of Jesus is not just a story but a life-changing miracle.
Luke 1:26-38 Throughout Advent we’ve looked at a number of miraculous births from the Bible that culminate with the most miraculous birth of all: The Birth of Christ. In this Christmas message Pastor Matt shares that the birth of Christ at Christmas is the miraculous birth for us all — the only requirement is to have faith like Mary.
1 Samuel 1:1-20 The birth narratives of Samuel and Jesus, while radically different in many ways, contain parallel truths about the person, character, and plans of God that when embraced allow us to face life’s challenges and opportunities with humility, confidence, and determination.
1 Samuel 1:1-20 We serve a God Who hears our cries and cares about us...so how should that affect our lives and how we react to Him during times of struggle and disappointment?
1 Samuel 1:1-20 The life of Samuel was during a pivotal time for the Nation of Israel as they transitioned into the time of the Kings. The providence of God in the life of Hannah, mother of Samuel, reminds us how the circumstances of life are all part of His plan. His plan included Samuel anointing Kings culminating in Jesus Christ and the redemption of mankind.
1 Samuel 1:1-20 After the age of the judges, which the miraculous birth of Samson represented, came the age of the prophets and kings. Here we meet Hannah, a woman full of grief because she cannot bear children who would later become miraculously pregnant. And her child Samuel becomes the prophet who will anoint the first kings of Israel. With the miraculous birth of Samuel the whole line of the great Hebrew prophets came into being — culminating in Jesus, the Prophet, Priest, King.
Samsons miraculous birth was an echo of previous miraculous births. It also foreshadowed the most remarkable miraculous birth of Jesus, the Lord, to a virgin. This sermon on Judges 13:1-25 was preached by Pastor Philip Thomas at New Life Fellowship Church, Concord, NC, on Sunday, December 22, 2024. This is a podcast from our Wednesday evening service at Abundant Life Family Church in Dodge City, Kansas. Join us to listen to Pastor Lydia Ames, Co-Pastor and founder of Abundant Life Family Church.
Although the biblical character, Samson, has many faults, his birth reminds us in many ways of the birth of the Lord Jesus and of his herald, John the Baptist. As in the case of the Lord's nativity, Samson's birth features an angelic messenger, miraculous circumstances, and fear and trembling. Brother Luke Harriman uses this story to remind us to expect the unexpected this holiday season.
Samson 13 When God’s people are trapped in the cycle of their sin, God provides a saviour. In the birth of Samson we see a pattern that is repeated throughout the Bible that leads us to the ultimate salvation in Jesus. Samson was a flawed saviour, but in Jesus we have a perfect saviour who leads us to trust and worship Him.
Judges 13 As we go through the story of Samson's miraculous birth we will look at God's Timing, God's Purpose & God's Promises.
The miraculous birth of Samson points to the miraculous birth of Jesus in that both were special deliverers given by God to save His people from their enemies. The greatest enemies that we face (Satan, sin, and death) have been defeated and destroyed through Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection. Through faith in Christ, we are delivered from these enemies, resulting in great peace, hope, and joy.
Judges 13:1-25 Although Samsons birth and ministry were miraculous he ultimately fell short of the calling placed upon his life. Yet, as we look at how his birth and life parallel that of Christs we are drawn to the supernatural realities that where Samson failed Christ succeeded, and this realization gives us great hope this Christmas season.
Ignorance is bliss, or so the saying goes. But when God steps in to tear away the veil of ignorance in Luke 1, His people were in awe and marveled. In Genesis 17:15-22 God promises that Sarah will give Abraham a son. This means that the promises made to Abraham will not be fulfilled through surrogacy but through the almighty power of God, who is able to open the womb and give life as He wills. God will always see to the execution of His promises. Ultimately, He does not need man.
[00:30] Trump's Garbage Truck Presser (48 minutes) Ten days ago, Donald Trump gave the media the iconic image of him in a McDonald's apron handing out fries. Yesterday, he did a press conference from a garbage truck before his rally in Wisconsin, where he wore an orange reflective vest—in honor of Joe Biden's comment that Trump's supporters are “garbage.” Although Kamala Harris is outspending Trump's presidential campaign, Trump is effortlessly winning the attention battle in the media. Even Jeff Bezos admits that the mainstream media is a liberal echo chamber that most Americans no longer trust. [48:00] The Miraculous Birth of the Son of God (7 minutes) The true story of Jesus Christ's birth is filled with miracles.
[00:30] Americans Suffer While Media Insists Everything Is ‘Perfect' (39 minutes) After Hurricane Katrina, the mainstream media excoriated President George W. Bush for his government's response to the disaster. Today, the media propaganda complex insists that the government's inept hurricane relief efforts in the last two weeks have been perfect. Kamala Harris is attempting to inject herself into the hurricane relief discussion to rescue her failing campaign, but Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says she has no role in the process. As Kamala's “good vibes campaign” flounders, media outlets like CBS are doing their utmost to help her come across well in her media blitz this week, even heavily editing and restructuring her answers in a prerecorded interview to make her look more presidential. [39:40] A Miraculous Birth (16 minutes) The true story of Jesus Christ's birth is full of dramatic miracles. These miracles should motivate us to worship and rely on God, who has the divine power to work miracles.
You're going to love this family-centered birth story with Dr. Dekker's brother John DeYoung and his wife Krista DeYoung! On today's episode, Krista and John (who are graduates of the EBB Childbirth Class with EBB Instructor Chanté Perryman) get vulnerable and open up about their complex pregnancy and son Eli's miraculous birth story. In addition to facing a pregnancy with a prior diagnosis of Crohn's disease, they also had to cope with lockdowns during the pandemic, genetic concerns including an initial diagnosis of triploidy, a HUGE and abnormally low-functioning placenta, potential growth restriction, a 39-week induction, and placental retention that led to abnormal postpartum bleeding. In addition to being inspired by John and Krista's unique story, you will also learn about the emotional rollercoaster of confronting a fatal genetic diagnosis that turns out to be a false positive. You will also hear from John about how active participating in childbirth and parenting has been an incredibly healing process for him— as John was adopted as a child and had no known blood relatives before Eli was born. And don't miss the end of the episode, when you find out about a surprise condition that was the cause of Krista's placental abnormalities. Tune in for an empowering and insightful discussion that sheds light on the complexities of high-risk pregnancies and the role of evidence-based care in navigating challenging pregnancy and birth scenarios. Content Note: This episode discusses high-risk pregnancies, history of bonding difficulties related to being adopted, concerns about fatal genetic diagnoses that may result in termination, false-positive genetic diagnoses, medical interventions, the potential of losing a baby in pregnancy, autoimmune conditions, and abnormal postpartum bleeding. Although everything turns out okay for our guests in this episode, we recognize that not all pregnancies with genetic complications have happy endings. 1st Samuel 1 : 1-20
Luke 1:26-38 NIV 26 In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob's descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” 34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” 35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.” 38 “I am the Lord's servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/shcc/message
