The Slamfest Podcast brings the premier rock concert pregaming experience from the parking lot to the podcasting airwaves. Episode 210 - Brad saw another huge band from the 80's for the first time in 2011. U2's 360 Tour was supposed to hit Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, MI on 6/30/10, but was postponed a year due to Bono's back injury. The show was rescheduled for 6/26/11 with opener Florence and The Machine. He welcomes Shout it out Loudcast Hall of Famer, Murph, back to the show to help recap this concert and discuss U2. For the Band on the Bill Spotlight, they compare songs from U2's Best of 1980-1990 to songs from their Best of 1990-2000. After a Slamfest Tip of the Week, they are faced with a variation of the "Which Side are you On?" segment. U2 appeared on Late Night with Davide Letterman for an entire week in early March, 2009 - they played five songs from their new album, No Line on the Horizon. Out of those five songs, they choose which song is their favorite.Music in this episode by:U2Black SabbathKissOzzy OsbourneVisit the Slamfest Podcast online at: https://slamfest-podcast.simplecast.comRequest to join the Slamfest Podcast private Facebook page here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/slamfestpodcastE-mail us at: slamfestpodcast@gmail.comVisit Murph on various episodes of the Shout it Out Loudcast and Zeppelin Chronicles at:https://www.shoutitoutloudcast.com/https://www.facebook.com/ShoutItOutLoudcast
U2's 13th studio album, "Songs of Innocence," is an album released a full 5 1/2 years after the commercial and critical disappointment of "No Line on the Horizon" with a list of producers as long as a Beyonce album. To that long gestation period Bono said, "Rumor has it we haven't made a U2 album in the last five years. We have. We've made several. We just didn't release them because we were waiting for something that would be as good as the best we've ever done." But, once the album was released, it wasn't the music that everyone was talking about, but rather how it was released. Which is a shame because, while it may not be the experimental classic of Achtung Baby, it is wildly underrated containing some of the most personal songs of U2's career. The question is, will its virtues ever overshadow the controversy known as Apple-Gate.
In our Part 2 on No Line on the Horizon, we pick things up with the three more pop oriented songs the band wrote after leaving Fez, Morocco. Did the band panic and go chasing a hit? If so, they chose a very unrepresentative first single in Get On Your Boots. Things get a lot more interesting on the final third of the record with some truly fresh material that probably should have been the centerpiece of the record. We also go through the marketing and promotion campaign that saw the band exerting its considerable muscle. Then we cover and uncover all the stories behind the 360 Tour.
The show opens with "the tea", producer Elan asks Bik the hottest questions surrounding the Canucks and the NHL. Topics include, JT Miller's practice attire, if the Canucks should alter their lines, and Connor Hellebuyck. Former NHLer Ken Priestlay joins the show. Ken and Bik discuss changing the lines, confidence level in the Canucks and Silovs or DeSmith. After two consecutive conventional and commercially successful records in "All That You Can't Leave Behind" and "How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb," the time was right to explore something different and go someplace else to do it. So, U2 heads off to Fez, Morocco with Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, not just as producers but as songwriting partners. The sessions in Fez result in the kind of experimental material they'd hoped for, but when the band returns home, distractions and second guessing start to alter the original vision for the record.
Continuamos con nuestra revisión de la discografía de U2 con No Line On The Horizon, que cumple 15 años desde su lanzamiento el 27 de Febrero de 2009. Church Brand Guide Podcast | Logo, Website, Video, and Design
A good church brand must have the integrity to be faithful in the small things. Integrity develops trust with people and results in the growth of the ministry as people give of their resources. Mark Jones is a businessman who owns several businesses and is actively involved in a local church. He shares insights about how churches can build a brand that is trustworthy. Show Notes: Communicate well. You must be careful to communicate at the level of your audience so people will relate to your message. Pastors have to be intentional about communicating properly to their congregation so things are perceived properly. The church leadership must also be intentional about presenting objectives to the congregation so they can help. Church leadership must also be careful with small details to earn the trust of the community. Be trustworthy. When a church can be trusted, it can be effective in reaching people. Assume people see what is going on. Always act with integrity. If a church does not have integrity, people can sense something is wrong. People want to be able to trust the church to be good stewards of their money. Give them a reason to trust you. Don't just have individual people handling the money; have third parties checking the finances. Some business people are looking for a trustworthy church where they can be generous. Make your church a place where they feel comfortable doing so. Understand your visitors. The biggest thing the church needs is people who love to meet people. Churches must become good at welcoming new people by understanding their discomfort of attending your church. People are looking for a community. Help them feel at home--remember their names. Kids ministry is also one of the main things people look for when searching for a church home. Take the time to really invest in your kid's ministry. Be authentic. Be who God has called you to be as a pastor and as a church. Don't try to be like someone else; lean into your strengths. Your church is attractive when it is genuine and not trying to be something else. Focus on God's unique direction for you.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type="No Line" custom_height="60"][vc_column_text] Links: ReviveaHome.com www.stimulock.com We have new content up every week.

Jesus came to reverse the effects of this world’s fall into sin. You and I, and the people we know and love, suffer in this life both spiritually and physically. So it’s no coincidence how we hear of Jesus’ proclamation of the good news so closely connected to His miracles of healing. But, since not everyone is healed in this life, is there a queue for the cure that Jesus came to bring?

We had the opportunity to talk with 3 of the 12 members of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's (MPCA) Environmental Justice Advisory Group (EJAG) who collectively resigned in protest of the MPCA's approval of permits for Canadian corporation Enbridge to construct the Line 3 Tar Sands pipeline through Northern Minnesota. By approving this permit MPCA Commissioner Laura Bishop and the Walz administration have violated the sovereignty of indigenous nations and enacted a brutal violence against the water, land, animals and people of Minnesota. We talked with Maryan, Magdalena and Kaleigh about the decision to resign and how we can keep up the fight against Line 3. This week on RevU2 - The U2 Podcast... we're buckling up our boots for No Line On The Horizon! - U2 decamp to Fez and attempt to soak up some Moroccan vibes. - Producers come and go as fans wait with baited breath (or should that be Breathe?). - And things get meta as there are audio issues for both U2 and RevU2. N.B. Since recording Jonny has realised that a certain song is two minutes shorter than he originally stated, though he maintains that this speaks volumes about said song.
