American hard rockers NONPOINT have certainly made a name for themselves since their formation in 1997. The South Florida rockers currently consists of vocalist Elias Soriano, drummer Robb Rivera, lead guitarist Jaysin Zeilstra, rhythm guitarist Rasheed Thomas, and bassist Adam Woloszyn., who continue to unleash killer, groove driven heavy rock in a way that seems to have fans clamoring for more. Robb Rivera of Nonpoint and the Robbcast Podcast joins Scott this week to discuss his musical upbringing, career, and plans for the future.In this conversation Robb shares his early thrash and hardcore influences as well as his love for the early days of tape trading. The history of Nonpoint goes back a long way. Originally called Nonpoint Factor, the band had a predominantly thrash sound. Nonpoint has been around for 21 years and still going strong. Their in the process of wrapping up the finishing touches on a brand new album and out on the road with the Butcher Babies on the Kings & Queens tour. At this juncture in their career, they are completely independent and enjoying not being tied down to a record label. Robb talked about the passion behind their music and what keeps them going. An old school hip hop guy, hear what Robb’s ideal collaboration would be and if the band has any intentions of including more covers on their new album.
