Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Invasive Procedures Hello everyone! Welcome to Season 2 episode 4: Invasive Procedures! Hot off the 3-part season opener, we slide into a standalone episode starring none other than Lionel Luthor…well actually it’s John Glover who is well known for playing Lionel Luthor on Smallville and most importantly LA slimeball Brice Cummings in Scrooged (his most important role). Because the station has been evacuated (so we ARE capable of evacuating!!) , DS9 is being run by a skeleton crew leaving it vulnerable to an attack. And Lionel attacks! And as always, the crew is unprepared and cannot come up with a useful plan! Argh!!! What Invasive Procedures? Lionel Luthor (also known as Verad in this episode) has come to kidnap a member of the crew…well part of a member of the crew. He wants Dax, not Jadzia, just Dax. He’s a trill without a symbiont and he’s come to rectify that. And let’s just say…this does not go well for anyone. The usual and not so usual We cover the usual (bad hair) and the not so usual (Kira getting beat up by someone). Something has gone wrong with the hair in season 2 except for some killer bangs back in episode 2. But we are all a bit frizzy or in Lionel Luther’s case we’ve had a very unflattering bowl cut. Questionable hair is a common thing on this show, what’s not common is someone getting the better of Kira in a fight! She takes out a big Cardassian in episode 1 of this season, but here she gets taken out by Verad’s tough as nails girlfriend. It is alarming! What’s this rebinge thing? It’s a re-watch of a thing you’ve already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Please listen to season 1 and some of our favorite episodes like In the Hands of the Prophets and Duet. Or you can also listen to our previous episode (a really good one): The Siege. Next time… We dive into Season 2 Episode 5 of DS9: Cardassians. Be sure and join our Facebook group and Follow Rebinge It on Twitter!

Jake sits down with returning guest Fernanda Herrera Spieler, who previously joined us for S2E4. Fernanda traveled to DC and heard oral arguments in the Supreme Court for Department of Homeland Security v. Regents of the University of California, a case which will decide the future of the DACA program and further define the power of the executive branch. She and Jake talk about the oral argument, the questions and responses of the justices, and what this case means for the future of the immigrant community. Fernanda Herrera Spieler is a 2nd year law student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is working to become an immigration lawyer and defend members of the immigrant community in their quests to live a full life in the United States. Fernanda was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1994 and moved to the United States with her family when she was 2 and a half years old.
On this episode the Michaud brothers cover a wide range of topics from the Oscar winning short "Hair Love", to artificial intelligence creating a Travis Scott song. All of this and more on S2E4 of "Two Broke Guys".

Star Trek: Discovery – Short Treks, Season 2 Episodes 4 & 5: Ephraim and Dot/The Girl Who Made the Stars We’re back with not just another episode of The Star Trek Discovery Podcast! No, not at all! That’s because this is episode 47!!! This time, Ruthie and I cover the fourth and fifth Short Trek of Season 2: Ephraim and Dot, which was written by Chris Silvestri & Anthony Maranville, and directed by Michael Giacchino; and The Girl Who Made the Stars, which was written by Brandon Schultz and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi. Both of these animated Short Treks were released Thursday, December 12, 2019. We aren’t separating these… We decided not to release these as separate episodes because we didn’t get a lot of feedback on them, especially The Girl Who Made the Stars. Therefore, we’re releasing them as a single episode. Fred’s Pics! Fred from The Netherlands was kind enough to collect a LOT of images for these Short Treks. Therefore, we use them to tell most of the story! First of all, we have some feedback on the last two Short Treks… We had feedback for the last two Short Treks and the episodes in which we covered them, The Trouble with Edward and Ask Not, so we start off with that. Short Treks Season 2 Episode 4 – Ephraim and Dot This one used two “characters” that were introduced on Star Trek: Discovery: The tardigrade from Season 1 (assuming it’s the same one), and the DOT-7 that we saw in the season finale of Season 2, Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2. It’s told in a Tom & Jerry style. We didn’t really agree about this episode. Ruthie didn’t care for it at all. I loved it, but I had one major continuity problem with the Short Trek. More on that in a bit. We start with black and white images… To start, we get an old film to start with. Would they have this in the 23rd Century? I don’t think so because that’s not even a thing today, but that’s a minor point. We begin…

We continue our discussion of S2E4: Judah's talk "Nourishing the Soul of a Child". If you haven't yet listened to S2E4 and S2E3 (the first part of the discussion) - there's no way to guarantee this episode will make any sense. Context is everything. Almost everything. If not everything - it's at least significant. Significant to some. OK - so, for some people context is apparently meaningless. If you're one of those people go ahead and listen without context and fully enjoy not knowing what we're talking about. Excellent. Thank you. Note: we recorded another episode prior to these two which focuses largely on the Hindu epic Mahabharata - some of this conversation is referenced in the latter part of this episode. Talking Through Blood in the Streets Blood in the Streets is episode 4 of season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead. This episode is a rare gem for either show in this universe because it gave us Strand’s backstory! I don’t know if they always planned on giving us his backstory, or if they did it because he became such a fan favorite the moment he appeared on the screen. I was definitely excited to learn more about this very intriguing character, but what is also interesting is how this backstory can be interpreted differently. What seems like a no brainer to one could still be viewed more than one way by another. It seems Strand’s intentions are still not crystal clear. Is he playing a long con, or does he really love Thomas Abigail? Only time will tell. A few more points And now for a few more points about the episode. Although it does appear that Nick is really getting the hang of the zombie-apocalypse, diving into the tent without checking it first seems like a huge risk, as well as trapping himself in a place with only one exit. It seems clear that he has more learning to do, but Nick, he will do it fast. When we recorded, I couldn’t specifically remember the lights in the cold open, but I went back and looked and I think that perhaps the lights were the flotilla that Luis said they had to get through. I think the “bad decisions” that Ofelia said Chris still has time to make will be quite different from the bad decisions she made, and actually, have nothing to do with liking a girl. Send in your feedback! I also still want to know why Strand tried to ditch the Abigail instead of staying, so if you think you know the answer, please send us some feedback and tell us! Was he going to try to get to Luis and Nick for backup? If so, why did he think he would be able to make a getaway? It is based on the concept of life energy which flows through "meridians" in the body. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow, or with various devices. Jamie & Karen discuss Episode four of Season 2, "Go Where I Send Thee". Unfortunately, while trying to keep things together, they can't help but revert to their twelve-year old selves when confronted with the innuendo-laden discussion. However, if you like Sleepy Hollow, you'll enjoy the conversation. *wink* The post WP4 – S2E4 – Go Where I Send Thee appeared first on Golden Spiral Media- Entertainment Podcasts, Technology Podcasts & More.
Back after a week off (apologies, we had hectic schedules!) we discuss S2E3 and S2E4 this week! Episode 3 TL;DR - we both really loved Episode 3, once Sarah remembers that far back. - We discuss the coin and our hopes for it's inclusion throughout season 2. - A tumblr gifset reveals the parallels throughout the show that Abbie is always trying to talk people down out of situations and we love her for it. - We're both a bit frightened of Reyes. - We learn some interesting back story on Momma Mills and a revelation causes a bit of a stirr for Jenny and Abbie, who's right? - To Holly or not to Holly, that is the questions. - We also deal with some listener feedback regarding Episode 3! Thanks for your comments everyone! Episode 4 - In Season 1, this would have been a solid episode, but coming off such a strong 3 opening episodes to this season, Ep 4 feels very much like filler. - To answer our question from Episode 3 recap, we can do without Holly thank you very much. - Although the story didn't really tickle our funny bone (sorry) we do have further proof that this show does not hold back when it comes to children in peril. - Abbey has a very interesting theory when it comes to Frank's ultimate fate.
