We saw the Borderlands movie so you didn't have to. It's a mess. This review will feature spoilers but let's be honest, we're helping you.Brett also reviews Against the Storm, available on Xbox Game Pass. It's a dark fantasy citybuilder with roguelike elements and it's a ton of fun. He also reviews Teardown, a game where you literally tear things down. There is a lot of destruction all centered around heist gameplay. The best part? The mods ya'll. They're insane.Jason also played Ghost of Tsushima 10 times. He walks through why it's timeless and what we want to see from Ghost of Tsushima 2. Lastly, we have a special preview of a game coming soon to Kickstarter called Celestial Return. From Steam:"Celestial Return is a narrative driven Sci-Fi Noir RPG where you roll as 3 lost souls scheming the Heist of the Millennia. Roll the dice, mix and match your skills, make tough choices, and steal the "Titan Core" to rule a cyborg army!"You can follow their Kickstarter here when it goes live or wishlist it on Steam.Show Notes:1:10 - Housekeeping2:23 - Borderlands Movie Review (SPOILERS)39:31 - Against the Storm Review1:04:23 - Why Ghost of Tsushima is Timeless After 10 Playthroughs1:47:52 - Teardown Review2:07:05 - Celestial Return Game Preview2:15:58 - Upcoming Video Game Releases Become a part of the conversation! Cardy, Dale, and Jesse are here to build their own dream sci-fi games. To do that, they'll take turns at drafting aspects of other already existing sci-fi games, such as combat, location, characters, and combining them to create their own Frankenstein creations. Plus, as if that wasn't already too much fun, there's a tense round of the Endless search as well. Brad plays through the surprising indie game Citizen Sleeper to find out if one of the best games of 2022 lives up to the other Sci-Fi Games out there today. We talk through exactly how the game works and the story of Citizen Sleeper.
► Timestamps: The Expanse: A Telltale Series - 0:00 Pikmin 4 - 16:47 Bramble: The Mountain King - 41:13 Red Matter 2 - 52:06 ► Alle unsere Episoden auf Poweroncast.de ► Folgt uns auf Twitter @Poweroncast ► Podcast Titelsong: „Jump 'n Fun“ Composed & Produced by: Timo Jäger ► Podcast Logo by: Anita Wan

Tory's absent, so Ben and Jeremy talk about the Infinity RPG, and some other thematic elements of science-fiction RPGs.
The year 2020 has been a year coloured by change. Changes in many ways have touched many people's lives. Paragons of Change is a series of interviews with people from boardgaming sphere whom I’ve noticed going through changes in recent times. We talk about change and what they have changed in their lives. By default we do not claim we state facts, we only talk from our own points of view and our opinions. As the discussion might take a negative note, we try finish with a positive – by giving you a Top9 list of games. The topic of the list has been chosen by the guest and we will have a “battle of the lists” after the episode airs in my social media channels – you, dear listener, are encouraged to comment and vote on the lists to see which one of us did better. The thirteenth Paragon in the series is the acting advocate of diversity in boardgames, Calvin Wong Tze Loon. Calvin is probably best know from his advocacy on many sensitive topics in Twitter (as Ithayla) and thus we talk about topics like unintentional racism, (cultural) representation and diversity in boardgames, colonialism, reviewing boardgames, acting, and noodles. He also discusses about his passions for writing and science fiction, which ties nicely to our Top 9 topic this time: Sci-Fi Games! Comments are welcome, hope you enjoy this bit and will be back for rest of the series. Voting for our Top9's will commence some time after this episode drops. Top9 starts at about 48:20 and the topic is Top 9 Sci-Fi Games! This episode is recorded 6th of February 2021. Thank you for listening! Convention season has started! Anthony and Chris kick off the season of many cons with their rundown of the games they are most looking forward to seeing this summer. Is the list complete? Probably not, but we're excited for every game on it. Before we kick things off, make sure to enter our World Cup of Sci Fi Games contest, ending on June 9th. You can find more information here. 2018 World Cup of Science Fiction Board Games Contest To start the episode, we ask our question of the week and listeners share how many plays they will give a game before they feel they have made their mind up about it. For Acquisition Disorders this week, Anthony looks at the final game in Uwe Rosenberg's puzzle trilogy, Spring Meadow, and Chris looks at the new Vast game, The Mysterious Manor. At the table, we're reviewing Dragon Castle, the new tile placement game from CMON and Argent: The Consortium, the second edition of which just shipped from Level 99 Games. Finally, we have our big run down of 16 games we're excited to see this summer at the cons we'll be attending.
