Then came to him from Jerusalem scribes and Pharisees, saying:Tunc accesserunt ad eum ab Jerosolymis scribae et pharisaei, dicentes :  2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the ancients? For they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3 But he answering, said to them: Why do you also transgress the commandment of God for your tradition? For God said:Ipse autem respondens ait illis : Quare et vos transgredimini mandatum Dei propter traditionem vestram? Nam Deus dixit :  4 Honour thy father and mother: And: He that shall curse father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But you say: Whosoever shall say to father or mother, The gift whatsoever proceedeth from me, shall profit thee.Vos autem dicitis : Quicumque dixerit patri, vel matri : Munus, quodcumque est ex me, tibi proderit :  6 And he shall not honour his father or his mother: and you have made void the commandment of God for your tradition.et non honorificavit patrem suum, aut matrem suam : et irritum fecistis mandatum Dei propter traditionem vestram.  7 Hypocrites, well hath Isaias prophesied of you, saying:Hypocritae, bene prophetavit de vobis Isaias, dicens :  8 This people honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me.Populus hic labiis me honorat : cor autem eorum longe est a me.  9 And in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men.Sine causa autem colunt me, docentes doctrinas et mandata hominum.  10 And having called together the multitudes unto him, he said to them: Hear ye and understand. 11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man: but what cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. 12 Then came his disciples, and said to him: Dost thou know that the Pharisees, when they heard this word, were scandalized?Tunc accedentes discipuli ejus, dixerunt ei : Scis quia pharisaei audito verbo hoc, scandalizati sunt?  13 But he answering them, said: Every plant which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.At ille respondens ait : Omnis plantatio, quam non plantavit Pater meus caelestis, eradicabitur.  14 Let them alone: they are blind, and leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the pit. 15 And Peter answering, said to him: Expound to us this parable.Respondens autem Petrus dixit ei : Edissere nobis parabolam istam.  16 But he said: Are you also yet without understanding? At ille dixit : Adhuc et vos sine intellectu estis?  17 Do you not understand, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the privy? 18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart, and those things defile a man.Quae autem procedunt de ore, de corde exeunt, et ea coinquinant hominem :  19 For from the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.de corde enim exeunt cogitationes malae, homicidia, adulteria, fornicationes, furta, falsa testimonia, blasphemiae :  20 These are the things that defile a man. But to eat with unwashed hands doth not defile a man.haec sunt, quae coinquinant hominem.

"The spinal cord sends and receives signals between the brain and the rest of the body. A spinal cord injury often causes permanent changes in strength, feeling and other body functions below the site of the injury. People who have had a spinal cord injury also may experience mental, emotional and social side effects. Many scientists are optimistic that advances in research will someday make repair of spinal cord injuries possible. Research studies are ongoing around the world. In the meantime, treatments and rehabilitation allow many people with spinal cord injuries to lead productive, independent lives" (Mayo Clinic). This week, we are discussing the heavy and serious topic of spinal cord injuries (SCIs). SCIs can happen to anyone at any age, at any time. Join us as we digest what actually occurs when a SCI is sustained, prognoses of such such injuries, and current treatment options available. He joins the podcast to dish on everything related to security cleared careers.Beginning his career with Pinkerton, Mike served in several roles including an assignment abroad in the Jakarta, Indonesia office and ultimately as Managing Director for the Washington, DC office before joining Paragon's parent company, Securitas Critical Infrastructure Services (SCIS), in 2014. In his most recent role as the National Account Director for SCIS, Mike was responsible for managing operations countrywide for multiple large clients. Michał Scisłowski: A new revenue stream for the music industry

Almost fifty years ago, four boys became school friends in Poland. Today they are working together to revolutionise the music industry with a BSV-powered startup called Soundoshi. It's not their first collaboration: they previously created a software development company together which is still in business. But now, as Michał Scisłowski explains on this week's CoinGeek Conversations, their focus is “100 percent on Soundoshi”. The opportunity, as they see it, is to improve the business model for both music producers and consumers. “Even if you are generating a few million streams, then you can't really make a living from Spotify,” Michał says. That's because revenue is shared between artists on a strictly proportional basis. So if smaller artists have a certain number of plays, what they earn depends on whether or not a big artist happens to release new music and win a large share of Spotify's total plays at that particular time.Soundoshi's solution? “In order to make it fair again, we need to have the same flat payment for each stream, for every artist on the platform. So they all have the same terms and they are competing with each other.”In building a system like that, “BSV is made for the task”. It will allow the creation of music NFTs so the consumer will own the music they buy - as opposed to simply being given access to it in return for a subscription. Artists will be free to set their own prices per track - anything from very cheap for a mass audience to more expensive and as limited in numbers as they choose for a highly exclusive product. All the music will be stored on the BSV blockchain. “In this way we want to avoid any kind of manipulation or censorship.”The artist would likely have to pay something to have their work put into the system, but “we are exploring the options of maybe having split payments for this. It's just a few dollars and maybe we can reimburse that from what we are earning on commissions.”From the consumer's point of view, Soundoshi is a pay-per-track model. Instead of subscription there will be a top up mechanism to keep your account in credit but in other respects, “everything will be very similar” to the experience on Spotify. Just as Bitcoin users can send money to each other, Soundoshi's customers will be able to transfer ownership of the tracks they have bought. As well as this being a new economic model for the music business, psychologically, it's a return to an older mode: one of music ownership. As Michał explains:“We want to reintroduce ownership of the music to the fans, so they will be able to collect their favourite music and build their collections, as we were doing 15 years ago before streaming arrived.”As to whether Soundoshi plans to destroy the music industry or provide a service to it, Michał is clear: “you always have two choices. You can go for revolution or evolution. And as much as I would love to see the revolution, I understand that we need to go the evolution way.”That means working with the music industry and talking to music publishers: “we want to offer this industry a new revenue stream.”CoinGeek followed the inside story of Soundoshi and the other startups who were part of  Satoshi Block Dojo's first cohort, for a CoinGeek Originals film, How to Build a BSV Business.

About Monday Musings www.mondaymusings.org "I began blogging years ago sending my thoughts (Musings) out to my School faculty in an attempt to share my vision, and to open up the lines of communication. They've become somewhat of an expectation over the last many years, and it's fair to say that they've morphed into opportunities for me to address issues, share my educational fairytale, and to celebrate accomplishments with the surrounding school community, and indeed the world. They've also helped me “sharpen the saw” so to speak, as the professional discourse that stems from these posts has allowed me to share ideas and issues with educational leaders from around the globe. I am a featured blogger for THE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATOR (TIE online), and you can follow my posts there as well. I'm also an adjunct professor for Endicott College, teaching in their Masters Degree leadership program in Madrid and Prague every summer. Essentially, the Musings are my attempt to stay current, as well as a forum to gain valuable feedback on how to turn a school from good to great. It's an on-going process…over 250 posts and counting and still so much to learn." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nathan-leslie/message

Low Profile with Markly Morrison

Berlin denizen Markus Popp has been creating music under the name Oval since the early 1990s. His earlier albums brought a new sound to the world of electronic music that would come to be known as "glitch." On first listen, one might think they had a damaged copy of the album before eventually falling under its lilting trance. He designed his own audio software called "ovalprocess" that was accessible only at installations at a few galleries in the early aughties. Popp never made pop music, but his style became a part of that landscape around the turn of the century. Markus recalls a certain Icelandic siren asking for permission to sample one of his songs: "When Björk called me, my first reaction was who gave you this number??" After exhausting his equipment, software, and sound library, he took a long hiatus, returning a decade later with a new frenzied, post-rock, drum-laden soundscape that built a new structure on his initial foundation. In the years since, he hasn't slowed down. His latest release on Thrill Jockey, "Scis," finds Markus putting progressive electronic beats to work in tandem with new explorations in synthesizer music. He has recently scored a German radio drama, the source material of which is the foundation for a work in progress (sneak preview included in this episode). He likes his burgers vegetarian, but isn't too picky about the fixings. And for the last couple of years, he's been offering his expertise by way of coaching sessions to creative types of all sorts, myself included. Markus joined me via telephone on this episode from his home studio in Berlin to discuss all of this and much more.
