This week, Limor and Dan dive into the reality of travel in relationships and why your first trip together might tell you everything you need to know. Whether it's a romantic getaway or a chaotic weekend flight, how people move through airports, schedules, and shared hotel bathrooms says a lot. They also explore TSA's new relaxed shoe policy, what it means for travelers, and why small updates like this can shift the entire airport experience. Then it's onto the office—literally. As more companies push for in-person work, the question of what to wear has gotten blurry. Mass protests in Mexico have started as locals say American immigrants are making the country too expensive to live in. Oh the irony! Plus, TSA will no longer require travelers to take their shoes off at the airport while going through security. Is this a good idea? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Air travelers got a pleasant surprise yesterday. The Office of Homeland Security announced that we would no longer be required to take our shoes off when boarding an airplane. While this was a slight hassle, over the last 20 years, we had grown accustomed to it. Now, thanks to the introduction of the Real ID, the need to remove our shoes magically disappeared. We all know that air travel changed after 9/11, and since then, there have been constant tweaks to the travel rules. To some, this is no big deal. However, Homeland Security states that we can expect further changes to come soon. Hopefully, that's a good thing... The latest on the devastating floods in Texas, with the death toll now surpassing 100. Also, President Trump announces potential new tariffs on a growing number of countries. Plus, a Justice Department and FBI review related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein finds there was no “client list.” And, the TSA will now allow passengers to keep their shoes on at select airports across the country.
What does frequent flyer Jamie Yuccas think of the TSA saying we can all soon keep our shoes on while going through airport security? She joined on that topic and what's happening currently in Los Angeles with ICE.

Summer Reading Adventures: Discovering Family, Culture, and Imagination Through Children's Books Get ready for an exciting journey into the world of children's literature that will inspire parents, kids, and book lovers everywhere! In this episode of Reading with Your Kids, host Jed Doherty dives into two incredible books that prove reading is about so much more than just turning pages. First up, we meet Helena Ku Rhee, author of "Shoes Off, Please," a heartwarming picture book that explores cultural traditions through a child's eyes. Helena shares how her own childhood experiences of removing shoes at home inspired a story that teaches kids about respect, family customs, and understanding different cultural practices. It's a delightful tale that shows how seemingly simple rules can hold deep meaning. Then, SJ Engelman takes us on a hilarious adventure with "Max Mission, Diary: Operation Save the Summer," a middle-grade novel that tackles the modern challenge of screen time. Following Max's mission to reclaim his video games, the book offers a laugh-out-loud look at family dynamics, creativity, and the importance of unplugging and connecting with the real world. Both authors share a common thread - the power of personal storytelling. They transform their own family experiences into engaging narratives that resonate with kids and parents alike. From Helena's shoe-removing tradition to SJ's video game battles, these books prove that the best stories come from real life. The episode is a treasure trove of insights for parents looking to encourage reading, understand their children's perspectives, and create meaningful family connections. Whether you're dealing with screen time struggles or want to explore cultural traditions, these books offer something special. So grab a book, cuddle up with your kids, and get ready to laugh, learn, and love reading together. Trust us, these stories are about to become your new family favorites! The current trade war between the U.S. and China has already sent shock waves around the world and this is just the beginning IF an agreement can't be reached. But there are some giant obstacles that stand in the way of any peace...Donald Trump's lack of understanding when it comes to China's global reach and influence AND Xi Jinping's need to show strength against a perceived western bully. Xi is already shifting from American reliance and cutting new deals with other nations. But it's not just about monetary trade for China...it's also about the growing nationalistic fervor, inflamed by J.D. Vance, by calling Chinese "peasants". Poking the dragon with insults was a mistake. And what about other Asian nations that have been slapped with unexpectedly high tariffs such as Vietnam? In this episode of "Shoes Off inside 1-on-1", May sits down with Eric Olander, longtime China watcher, journalist and analyst based in Vietnam. Eric's deep knowledge of Chinese history and its global relationships helps put this current dangerous trade war into context. To understand the present and the future, we must understand the painful past.Eric Olander, Co-Founder/Editor-in-Chiefwww.chinaglobalsouth.com Please subscribe, rate and review us!And follow us on IG @shoesoffinsidemkt
