Our guest today is the incredibly talented Melbourne rock band, Slowly Slowly. Known for their heartfelt melodies, irresistible hooks, and emotional singalong lyrics, the beloved Aussie outfit recently returned with their most dynamic record yet, Forgiving Spree. Capturing the energy of their live shows, the album delivers some of their most mature and introspective songwriting to date while staying true to their signature charm. In today's episode, frontman Ben Stewart joins us to chat about the almost live approach the band took for this record, the intricate songwriting process behind it, and how his journey into songwriting began with him not even feeling like a songwriter. We also look ahead to the band's upcoming April tour and what fans can expect when Forgiving Spree hits the stage.Slowly Slowly: Instagram / Spotify Purchase Forgiving Spree and tickets to their tour here.Visit our official website here and follow us across our socials.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Between You & Me over Zoom video!Fresh from the frenzy of their sold-out intimate headline tour, Australia's Between You & Me (BYAM) have today shared their brand new single and music video, “YEAH!” Opening with sunny acoustic chords reminiscent of early 2000s radio hits, “YEAH!” bursts into a feel-good verse carried by the distinct vocals of frontman Jake Wilson before moving into what is perhaps the band's most pronounced singalong chorus yet. In line with its bright and upbeat sound.Jake says the song is about “living your best life and not caring what anyone else thinks. I imagine this song playing in the montage scene of an early 2000s bratty comedy film. Stylistically it's a big shift for BYAM, but we wanted to bring beachy summer vibes to a fun and carefree song.”The band teamed up once again with Canadian producer Sam Guaiana (Armageddon - 2021), who flew to Australia earlier this year to record with the band at Beveridge Road Recording Studios in Victoria's Dandenong Ranges.“YEAH!” is the band's second independent release, and follows their addictive February single “Nevermind” which, on their recent run of intimate headline shows, proved to be a new fan favorite. Sonically “Nevermind” earmarked a new era for BYAM, and according to the band perfectly captured “the spirit of our band and our live show.” The single was swiftly added to rotation on triple j, and arrived ahead of a massive stint in the USA supporting Knuckle Puck and Real Friends, followed by an Australian tour joining Slowly Slowly on the road upon their return. BYAM also joined You Me At Six and Set It Off on their recent Australian run.In 2021, Between You & Me's acclaimed record Armageddon (Hopeless Records) took the band to new heights, featuring hit singles “Deadbeat”, “Butterflies”, “Change” and “Go To Hell” ft. Mikaila Delgado of Yours Truly. The electrifying 10-track record landed as triple j's Spotlight Album on release, alongside an interview on the station's Breakfast program, and has since clocked up over 13.5million global streams in addition to support from BBC Radio 1 (UK), Spotify, and more. To celebrate the album, Between You & Me stepped out on their biggest headline Australian tour in 2022, finishing with a milestone sold-out hometown show at Melbourne's The Corner Hotel. As the year drew to a close, the band took to the USA, joining American pop punk outfit State Champs on an extensive month-long run. With new singles “YEAH!” and “Nevermind” minting BYAM's newly independent era, the band are more motivated than ever to continue their global takeover. Fans both at home and abroad can expect more new music and touring news to come.We want to hear from you! Since her first release in 2019, Juice Webster has been an artist whose music is a kind of summoning— soft echoes of connectedness and courage; lightweight and all-encompassing. Her music is a fragrance. One that reminds you of yourself, of a lover's face close up, of time that is fragmented, but still felt all over. Her acclaimed EPs You Who Was Myself and More Than Reaction have seen her play sold out shows around Melbourne, from a 2-night EP launch stint at The Tote, to a 2022 performance slot at The Forum. She has also made appearances at Town Folk Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, and on touring circuits supporting the likes of Mimi Gilbert and Slowly Slowly. This episode I chat with Juice Webster about the development of songs beyond their recording and the ever evolving meaning and progression of songs. For those wondering how a band like Slowly Slowly made their way to Dyingscene.com I would like to tell you to sit down and stfu. Let me introduce you to Australia's best-hidden gem and in my opinion worst kept secret. They let us know about their snakes and crazy spiders. But dropped the ball on this band, what a shame. So how do I know about them? Well, for those wondering. I was actually born in Brisbane, QLD. But my family moved to Denmark when I was a child and the rest is history. But between the albums St. Leonards and Race Car Blues, I stumbled upon them during a midnight catch-up with my aunt in Australia and fell head over heels with their sound. But in November of '22, Slowly Slowly released their fourth album Daisy Chain. So, once again, as it's become a daily thing, I decided to annoy to living shit out of Jay and he allowed me to interview the band. So here's Ben and I talking a bunch of things! I'd like to thank Ben for being an amazing friend and vibing with me at 1 am.

Following the release of Race Care Blues and Race Car Blues Chapter Two in 2020 and 2021 respectively, Daisy Chain welcomes listeners with open arms into a world of catchy tunes and starkly intimate lyricism. Showcasing themselves as insatiable leaders in the modern indie and rock realms, Daisy Chain packs in hooks, heartfelt narratives and the creamy yet captivating trademark sound that Slowly Slowly have spent over seven years finessing; and, in frontman Ben Stewart's case, it's been a lifetime and a labour of love that has ultimately led to the most assured and authentic version of the band to date. Notably covering some darker lyrical territory on album #5, Daisy Chain showcases Ben's own personal strides to discover himself both as an artist and a human in general; and the end result is simultaneously something that can soundtrack your summer and a collection of songs that intimately challenge and inspire the status quo. Punchy yet poignant, catchy yet cathartic, Daisy Chain is a true triumph for Slowly Slowly; and while it's strictly not a lockdown album, as Ben elaborates on in today's episode, its end result mixes songs years in the making with a brand new sonic identity for the band. Fresh off some epic shows around the country and ahead of some acoustic launch shows and a screening tomorrow night of the Slowly Slowly documentary Back To Basics, Back On My Bullsh*t, join Ben on Behind The Soundcheck with host Tiana Speter today, diving a little deeper into Daisy Chain, songs 10 decades in the making with childhood heroes and returning to play on the very stage that launched his live musical journey as a teenager. IN THIS EPISODE:The juxtaposition between Race Car Blues and Daisy Chain, self-actualisation, and the overall purpose that drives and underpins Daisy Chain overall. Ben strictly not referring to Daisy Chain as a lockdown record, but the inevitable shape the record took as a result of the past few years. The reality of launching Race Car Blues just as the pandemic was starting to take hold in Australia, but how the time also allowed the band to truly ask themselves: what kind of band do they want to be?The integral role of Daisy Chain's title track on the album, the loop-like structure of the album explained, and metaphors related to relationships and volcanoes that ultimately inspired the album title. The extensive backstory a decade in the making that saw the track Moving Trains finally evolve from a demo that nearly made it onto every previous Slowly Slowly album into a full-blown track on Daisy Chain; and it also becoming a genuine "sliding doors" moment for Ben with Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional fame. Ben's experience recently returning to Croydon to play in the very venue that he frequented as a kid, performing on the very stage where he played his first ever live gig at as a teenager. The importance of all ages shows, and Ben's passion for helping young people find their path with music.MORE SLOWLY SLOWLY INFO: https://www.slowlyslowlyband.com/MORE THE SOUNDCHECK INFO: https://www.thesoundcheck.org/

I've never been about the “new year, new you” bullshit. What I AM about is taking inspired action towards the person you continue to become, peeling back the layers to remember who you've always been, and continuing to move forward with hope in your heart. We're talking today about the collective exhaustion of the past year (or two) and focusing on setting intentions moving into the new year that are more about how you're going to show up overall consistently -while still leaving room for the messy parts of yourself to make an appearance. Intention is about how you want to feel, what you want to embody, how you want to show up for yourself and others. And when we can focus on that part, you'll be open and ready to receive the beautiful things coming your way.   CONNECT WITH EMILY Book a private coaching call with Emily to work together. Welcome to Episode 62 of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast. It's a depleted squad this week, bit Lee and Gordon don't care about that as they've got another East Fife win to chat about. The Jekyll and Hyde Fifers forgot to drink their medicine and it was the good guys who won the battle at Bayview, coming away with a 2-1 win over Dumbarton that sees them edge ever closer to crawling off the bottom of the division. Now the glass half empty amongst you may point to Dumbarton being depleted themselves, but you can only beat the team in front of you and East Fife did that on Saturday afternoon, albeit with some late heart palpitating moments to close out the match. The guys delve into all the high and lows, the standout players, and what this might mean for the games coming up after some recent yo-yo performances. Plus we delve into the mailbag and chat about some of the other talking points around Scottish football this week.

While reciting Path if your conscious is distracted, then should recitation be continued or stopped?

#PearlsOfWisdoms #BabaIqbalSinghJi In this case we should not stop. We should continue doing ‘paath' If we stop doing ‘paath' then it would be a defeated mentality. We have lost then. Yes, the spiritual vibrations arrive. Gurmukho, when we do ‘paath'. This is natural that. The five thieves inside us. Lust, Rage, Anger, Attachment and Conceit, They are inside us. We are busy in other issues. So, we don't come to know about them. We are busy in universal issues, business etc. So we don't come to know about these thieves. When we sit alone. And we recite the ‘baani'. Then they disturb us inside in different ways. Like sometimes they say, “now why are you not reciting the name”? We should not worry at that time. At that time we should recite the name and the ‘baani' And with continuing this, Then slowly the thieves come out of us. I earlier told you that There is a pit. There is lot of mud at its bottom. And there is pure water on the top. And the observers come and see. They say, It is very pure and drinkable water. And the ones living there say there is garbage inside. “Where is it? “ “It is at the bottom” When they bring a pipe of pure water. And when they poured the water inside with force. Then the garbage comes on the top. Then they say, The water was so pure but it had garbage at the bottom. Just like that We look good from outside. But there is much dust in our hearts. And when the pure water is continuously poured inside. Then the stagnated water comes out along with all the garbage. And at last the water becomes totally pure. Just like that our mind is a pit. If there is garbage like lust, rage ,anger, attachment and conceit inside the pit. We are busy in other issues and gossipping with friends. But we are not able to see them Because our attention is somewhere else. Our focus is on the universal issues. And we put more garbage with greed inside. And when we begin reciting the name. Then we have thoughts inside. That why am I reciting his name? Why am I reciting the ‘baani' And the weak ones get scared at this stage. With the thinking that earlier I had not got these thoughts. And now by reciting the ‘baani' I have started getting my attention somewhere else. Because the garbage inside had come out. When it comes out, it is very uncomfortable to people. At that time we should not worry. As you will begin reciting the ‘name or the ‘gurbani' The five thieves will come outside. Just like how the stagnated water comes out of the pit. Slowly Slowly it comes out. And finally the ‘baani' will settle inside you. When it gets settled. Your mind joins with the “Naam Roopi Atam Dev”. Then with the blessings of the Lord will be in love with the Almighty. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/babaiqbalsinghji/support
