Tonight, my special guest is author Susan Hall who's compiled the ultimate catalog of serial killers from all over the world. The World Encyclopedia of Serial Killers is the most comprehensive set of its kind in the history of true crime publishing. Written and compiled by Susan Hall, the four-volume set has more than 1600 entries of male and female serial killers from around the world. Defined by the FBI as a person who murders 3 or more people over a period of time with a hiatus of weeks or months between murders, serial killers have walked among us from the dawn of time as these books will demonstrate. While the entries to these volumes will continue to grow—the FBI estimates that there are at least fifty serial killers operating in the United States at any given time—The World Encyclopedia of Serial Killers is as complete as possible through the end of 2017. In June 2020, the set begins with Volume One, Letters A-D. The entries include Ted Bundy, the Candyman Dean Corll, Angel of Death killer Donald Harvey, the ABC Killer, and the Bodies in the Barrels Murders. You will find these killers and approximately 500 others in this first book in the series of The World Encyclopedia of Serial Killers.Follow Our Other ShowsFollow UFO WitnessesFollow Crime Watch WeeklyFollow Paranormal FearsFollow Seven: Disturbing Chronicle StoriesJoin our Patreon for ad-free listening and more bonus content.Follow us on Instagram @mysteriousradioFollow us on TikTok mysteriousradioTikTok Follow us on Twitter @mysteriousradio Follow us on Pinterest pinterest.com/mysteriousradio Like us on Facebook Facebook.com/mysteriousradio]
Having raked over the council elections in the last episode, Jemma and Marina spend this one dissecting the Mayoral results. It's a win for Andy Burnham, a loss for Andy Street, a win for Ben Houchen and, most thrillingly of all, a loss for Susan Hall. Susan, who spent her time campaigning telling Londoners that where they live is a hellscape of unparalleled proportions. Funnily enough, that strategy didn't work. In this Trawl, enjoy her entirely graceless speech and Khan's humorous one which references the biggest winner of all, Count Binface. The man who wanted to reduce the price of croissants and bring back Ceefax did very well and completely trounced the Britain First candidate who also suffered a huge bout of sour grapes. Fortunately, there was someone in the crowd to put him right. “A hung Parliament” - it's not quite admitting defeat, but the new media lines from Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party suggest that even the Government knows its days are numbered. Nish and Coco unpack Sunak's shock admission and some of the highlights from the local elections. Comedian, actor and activist (and old colleague of Nish) Aisling Bea drops in to talk about campaigning against food insecurity. The “Essentials Guarantee” campaign championed by the Trussell Trust asks that political parties prioritise all citizens having basic essentials as part of their election manifestos.Aisling also talks about the fight for abortion rights in her homeland of Ireland, while Coco reminds us that the abortion laws in England, Scotland and Wales are incredibly archaic. Abortion buffer zones, 150m no-protest areas around clinics have just hit their one-year anniversary of receiving royal ascent for England & Wales, however, the Home Office has yet to roll out the change to the law - leaving protestors free to approach women outside. Finally, the gang mix together a metaphorical soufflé of villains, stirring in a healthy dose of uncapped banker bonuses, adding a dash of Susan Hall, and a pinch of the Labour Party's surprise new MP. The Tories got trounced at the locals – we unpack the winners and losers. Plus, we question how the media covered the races, including those who said Susan Hall might do better in London than she did… And with Monty Panesar standing for George Galloway's party – didn't have that on our 2024 bingo card – we ask about celebs and sports people going into politics. What are the dos and don'ts? • “Susan Hall basically stood there spitting fire about why she lost and how it wasn't fair.” – Jonn Elledge • “There is probably a point bringing up Reform – because they're a bigger threat to the Tories than they are to Labour.” – Marie Le Conte • “Even if you talk to Tory MPs, they know they cannot sell another new leader on the doorstep.” – Marie Le Conte • “With the younger generation online, they think all celebrities actually should be political.
It's squeaky-bum time for our Prime Miniature Rishi Sunak this week... Jemma and Marina open with a discussion around the many elections taking place this week that could see things go from bad to worse for Rishi Sunak. And please God, deliver us from Susan Hall becoming the new London Mayor. Then, what's better: Twitter or X? The ladies discuss the worst rebrand of all time before moving on to an MP who this week rebranded himself from Tory blue, to Labour red. We're talking of course, about Dr Dan Poulter who has managed to find his principles so close to a general election - incredible coincidence. 30p Lee has been whinging again... this time about the banning of an old sitcom named Terry & June. Except it hasn't been banned at all. Not content with spouting nonsense about sitcoms, Lee moved on to spouting nonsense about Blackpool, resulting in Jemma and Marina having a good giggle about Lee's prehistoric vision of what he wants Britain to be. Spoiler: Get your headscarves and buckets out, ladies! Then it's onto the resignation of Scotland's First Minister, Humza Yousaf, before a trigger warning discussion about Reform's Ben Habib and the shock remarks made about migrants drowning in the channel. To end, Jemma and Marina serve up some epic underrated tweets and finish with another musical masterpiece from The Marsh Family. The Tory bellendery is strong in this ep... First, we have the audacity of a Govt known for 'losing' its WhatsApps announcing its new Govt WhatsApp, followed by a series of car crash interviews that are almost painful to listen to - a pile-up if you like. Staring with... Culture Secretary, Lucy Frazer, the little girl who cried bias. Or was it perception of bias? Or evidence of bias? Same Same. Jemma and Marina explore the possibility that the BBC may be bias, but arrive at a conclusion that is just a tad different to Lucy's. Next up for interviews they'd rather forget was Tory MP, Huw Merriman who has a perception that the BBC is bias because The News Quiz mocked Tory MPs and the Government - which ironically gives us even more reason to mock Tory MPs and the Government. And finally, it's guaranteed-to-go viral, Susan Hall, the Tory Mayoral candidate who does Sadiq Khan's campaigning for him. In another Nick Ferrari interview on LBC she is exposed for not knowing the stuff she is supposed to know about now, and then not really knowing the stuff that she supposedly once knew about - splendid stuff. The ladies touch upon that moment when Sunak laughed in the face of a woman asking him about the NHS and reminded us that he has less charisma and likeability that Mark Francois on a Tory rebellion day. Then it's into underrated tweets, followed by a pudding so powerful that it couldn't be left out. The episode opens with a trip to the Plymouth Christmas lights switch-on, where Torty MP, Johnny Mercer is met with a different type of Christmas cheer. Then it's report time... In some breaking news, HOPE not hate researchers have unearthed the deeply alarming views of the Conservative candidate for London Mayor, Susan Hall. Hall has liked posts endorsing Enoch Powell, Islamophobic tropes about Sadiq Khan, supported the myth that the 2020 American election was stolen from Donald Trump and expressed a disdain for the press and democracy. But what ought to happen now?On this episode of Radio 43, Nick and Georgie sit down to discuss the ins and outs of the shocking Susan Hall revelations, what the party needs to do now and how this case sits within the broader context of concerning Conservative Party incidents.HOPE not hate has been banging the drum about the scale of anti-Muslim views within the Conservatives for many years, and Hall's candidacy suggests that little is being done to make sure that those in the party with deeply worrying views are rooted out.As part of this campaign, we have written to the Chair of the Conservative party, Greg Hands, presenting a dossier of evidence and stating that the party must suspend Hall and undertake a full investigation into her.Help make this happen by signing our open letter.Read the full, shocking details into the Susan Hall case.

There is fresh turmoil among London's Conservatives as the party launches a probe into its electoral operations in the capital.Voters will likely go to the polls both nationally and in London in 2024. Now the internal review, news of which was broken by LBC, comes just weeks after Susan Hall's selection as the Conservatives' London mayoral candidate. The investigation will focus on the “structures, processes, and organisation of the Conservative Party in London”, but senior Tories also want party chairman Greg Hands to ensure the inquiry covers the selection process to choose their London mayoral candidate. However, Richard Barnes, the former Conservative deputy mayor of London, told LBC that the probe risked “totally undermining her position”.It comes after the Conservatives' surprise by-election win, by 495 votes, last month in Boris Johnson's former constituency of Uxbridge and South Ruislip. For the latest, The Leader podcast is joined by Evening Standard political editor Nicholas Cecil.
