In this episode, we kick off with a very casual Sunday recording, where things are a bit more chaotic than usual—kids in tow, last-minute schedules, and an easygoing vibe. We talk about SLGN's recent show at Texas Live after a Rangers game, where the excitement of the game carried over to our set. The post-game atmosphere was electric, and we were all buzzing from the fun we had on stage. We also delve into the current state of streaming services and the rising costs of daily life, like groceries and fast food. We joke about the nostalgia of past deals, like Arby's 5 for 5, and how those days are long gone. Meal prepping becomes the hot topic as we discuss how it's becoming a necessity to save money. We even get into the weeds of our favorite “guilty pleasure” fast food spots and their prices. Our conversation shifts toward the challenges of raising kids today and the generational differences in parenting styles. We touch on the different ways we and our partners grew up and how that influences the decisions we make for our own families. There's a bit of humor around kids' reactions to things we used to take for granted, like commercials and pay-per-view events. As we chat about the importance of music education, we reflect on our kids' musical journeys. We discuss their experiences with learning instruments, like drums and piano, and the struggle to keep them interested as they grow older. There's a hope that they stick with it, knowing how transformative music can be.
In this episode, we dive into venues and the rollercoaster of playing live across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We share stories about some of the best places we've performed, like The Backyard at Texas Live, where the staff treat us like family and the production quality is top-notch. It's one of those rare spots where everything just clicks—from the comfortable green room to the powerful sound system. We also talk about how important it is to build strong relationships with venue managers and staff. It's not just about drawing a crowd; it's about making sure the people who work there enjoy having us around, which has led to some great opportunities, like playing post-Ranger game shows. On the flip side, we discuss some of the challenges with smaller venues, where things can get a bit nitpicky and high-strung over minor details. It's interesting how the size of a venue often reflects the vibe of the people running it.Reflecting on the local scene, we note how the cover and tribute band industry seems to be growing, thanks to a heavy dose of nostalgia. We touch on a few places we'd love to play in the future—venues that pay well and offer perks like hotel rooms, which isn't always the case here in DFW.We end by talking about the energy exchange with the crowd. Whether it's a few people up front dancing their hearts out or a full house cheering us on, that energy fuels us to give our best every single time. At the end of the day, we're here to make sure everyone has a great time, whether they're rocking out up front or chilling at the back.

NSD 1 is coming to a close, but there were some interesting moments. Let's recap an important 2024 haul and see which school A&M LB commit Tyanthony Smith selects during his announcement.
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville edition, we are joined by county-gospel singer/songwriter Cynthia Rausch!CYNTHIA RAUSCHHer parents met in a band in her dad's home state of Texas. They fell in love and got married then continued to travel and perform together for several years after, before settling down in Dallas Texas and starting a family. Cynthia's dad ended up joining the Navy right before Cynthia was born and served faithfully while his family moved from location to location in true military family style. Cynthia still remembers many trips to Wichita Falls to visit her MawMaw during that time. After her dad left the military, her parents picked up their instruments again and started using their gifts in the local church where their family attended. Cynthia's parents continued adding to the family and eventually there were 8 children in all, with Cynthia being 3rd oldest. At age 14 Cynthia went through a very dark time with her mental health and general overall health. She began struggling with addiction and suicidal tendencies and overdosed at the age of 15, but by the grace of God, she survived. Cynthia is unafraid to share her story of what God did that September night, in hopes of encouraging anyone else with depression and thoughts of suicide. "It is never the answer. You are just ridding the world of the joy of knowing the unique person God made you to be." Says Cynthia. "Please reach out to someone, getting help isn't weakness, it is the strongest and bravest thing you could ever do. And please don't fall for the lie that you aren't loved and valuable. You are. God loves you and so do I." After that night, she found a sudden desire to start learning guitar and singing. Almost immediately after she started playing and singing, she started writing music and pretty soon she was writing the music for her developing family band.Cynthia realized that playing music helped with her mental health and started advocating through her music for others struggling in the same way. Helping others struggling with depression and anxiety had become a focal point of her music. And she continues to focus on that to this day. Around that same time, her siblings started learning to play instruments too, and pretty soon the whole family began to travel and play music for churches, city events and fairs. They traveled from Missouri to Texas and everywhere in between. During this time Cynthia's gospel roots took on a more country flare and she embraced it. After meeting her husband in 2010 and starting a family of her own, her family band disbanded, but Cynthia fondly recalls the many memories and joys of traveling with her family band. And she cherishes the lessons and values instilled in her life because of them. With her 5th single "Abracadabra" currently out to radio, following her successful top 20 single "What The Whiskey Gave You", Cynthia is taking on the country music scene with joyful gusto. Her love of people and the power of music gives her a drive to bring hope to every listener and show them how much God loves them. Cynthia has shared the stage with several amazing well-known names, including Logan Mize, 90's band Ricochet, Matt Stell, Jerrod Nieman and was nominated as "New Female Vocalist of the Year" in 2022 with the T3R awards. Even though she wasn't a finalist, she was honored to even be considered at all by her fans. She also had the honor of performing at the Sunday night "Future Faces Show" at Texas LIVE in Arlington, Tx prior to the Texas Regional Radio Awards show 2022.

LIL TEXAS has inspired a groundbreaking movement for American hardcore. With his roots embedded in jazz and classical music, LIL TEXAS shifted from being a member of a band to creating his own artistic identity dedicated to the rave. In his own lane where 200 BPM is his resting tempo, the LIL TEXAS project serves as a culmination of his true passions, from fashion to culture and beyond. LIL TEXAS made his hardcore debut with his original single “I AM EXCITED,” introducing his up-tempo hardcore sound to his audience of ravers and tastemakers from all walks of dance music. Met with immense success, LIL TEXAS' singles have been supported by Virtual Self, Kill The Noise, Pendulum, and many more. He's inspired artists who've never delved into hardcore before to join the TEXCORE movement, engaging their audiences in the most extreme form of dance music. With the goal of establishing a voice for American hardcore, the Western kink daddy himself has already infiltrated the scene with a vengeance: he made his hard dance debut at Basscon: Wasteland in 2018, followed by a slew of shows supporting artists such as Gammer, Junkie Kid, and more. As the American captain of 200 BPM, LIL TEXAS is motivated to make music that'll make you dance until you hit the ground. In this Part 2 episode with our special guest Alex TinyB she tells us how timing was perfect to create the Texas Lonestar Dancers. It all started with her judging the Miami Dolphins Cheerleader tryouts. She loves Miami culture and tries to bring some of that energy to the Dallas area. When the Dallas Mavericks dancers were cancelled the only other team left was the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. All this happened right around the time Texas Live built their entertainment venue in the middle of the new Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys Stadiums in Arlington, Texas. Alex says the Dallas Cowboys have always had everything and the Texas Rangers really have never had anything for entertainment, and especially dancers. That is how the idea was born. She met the marketing manager of Texas Live and the rest is history. 2021 is their first "real year" since Covid put a damper on so many things in 2020. Her goal is to actually perform in the Texas Rangers stadium, but Texas Live is their safe haven and it gives them the opportunity to cheer for all sports events and not just baseball. Alex is a super fair but very strict director and we ask her the struggles she has for the girls to respect her. Alex has so much confidence in her dancers that she will put them up against any of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and they will "outdance" them. Her girls are all strong dancers, full of talent and she loves to help and mold them and not just have someone on the team because they look hot. Alex is also the director of the Dallas Flygirls. Then we learn about Alex TinyB's love life and how happy she is with her baseball player boyfriend. Alex is currently in the process of putting out a country song in memory of her beloved grandfather who just recently passed away from ALS. You can find Alex TinyB on all social media handles under alextinyb Party With Miss Polly: How Does Sex Effect Athletic Performance?Question Of The Day:If you are dating multiple people are you also sleeping with multiple people?

"It's totally exaggerated. It's not me," declared President George H.W. Bush during a segment for Saturday Night Live. "Those crazy hand gestures, the pointing thing. I don't do 'em." President Bush called Dana Carvey's impersonation of him "bad" in that memorable SNL sketch, which was recorded in part by two former members of our KPRC-TV team. Kevin Gerew joins us and tells us how he ended up with his nickname Woogy. It has something to do with the movie “Something about Mary”.Woogy loves living his life to the fullest, loves to have fun and laugh and he loves to break all the rules and loves to live on the edge and he also loves women. A LOT.He then tells us about his childhood and he shares with us that he was a nerd growing up and got severely bullied. His sisters friends beat him up and locked him up inside of a locker, because they thoughtit was cool to be bullies. Woogy was not part of the cool kids around 5th and 6th grade. In 8th grade he flipped a switch and decided he would not let anyone pick on him ever again and started fighting. A LOT.He started playing football and took all his aggression out on the field, but got thrown out of every other game for fighting. He still was an All American player, despite all of that.He tells us how his Dad grew up very, very poor and built a multi million dollar business with a company called “Let’s all work to fight drug abuse”. They were the largest distributor of drug educational material in the USA.Woogy didn’t always abide by all the rules.Troy Aikman from the Dallas Cowboys is a very close family friend of Woogy’s. Gabrielle shares that she has held a grudge against Troy for many years. They used to be neighbors in Hackberry Creek in Las Colinas, TX andGabrielle took Marcella who at the time was a JR. Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader to his house to ask him to sign a football for the Cystic Fibrosis Charity. This was an important cause for Gabrielle, because one of her close friends daughter suffersfrom the disease. Troy simply said NO he wouldn’t sign the football, much to the shock and disappointment of Gabrielle.Marcella then admits that she confetti bombed Troy Aikman’s house with her friends and her Dad was not pleased. We talk about how much we love the new Texas Live facility next door to the Dallas Cowboys Football Stadium.we also discuss how the new concert venue Lava Cantina has taken off and is an awesome place to go to.Then Woogy shares the history of his very close friendship with Keith Moses who suddenly passed away a year ago.We end the show with a story about an incident that happened to Marcella at Concrete Cowboy in Frisco Texas and how Woogy is still mad that he couldn’t fight the guy because his Dad was there.
