Allister is an American pop-punk band from Chicago. The four-piece formed in 1994 when the original band members were still in high school In 1998 Allister became one of the first bands to sign to Drive-Thru Records. They have released six studio albums: Dead Ends and Girlfriends (1999), Last Stop Suburbia (2002), Before the Blackout (2005), Countdown to Nowhere (2010), Life Behind Machines (2012), and 20 Years and Counting (2019). The band also made a cameo appearance in the 2004 film Sleepover. They went on hiatus in 2007, then reunited in 2010, and have become Uncle Jessie Famous over in Japan. I got Tim on the Skype and this is what we chat about: How seeing Rhythm Collision changed his life Starting off as the drummer who was the singer as well Their original name being Fall Out Boy Signing to Drive-Thru Did they coordinate their stage presence Home Grown Going Gold in Japan Touring with Day At The Fair Does a band actually have to pay for the Gold records And a ton more Check out Tim's current band Hot Alice. Allister singer and guitarist Tim Rogner joins Wingman Steve & Chris-183 for an awesome discussion that definitely is not overrated (that's an Allister joke). They discuss the Chicago punk rock scene, Drive Thru Records' success, and the band's amazing connection with Japan. Tim also walks through the Allister discography giving his thoughts on each of their albums and a ton of stories behind their songs. This time we are joined by Tim Rogner of pop punk legends Allister. Tim kindly took time out from his busy Saturday to discuss his years touring the world in a band beloved by many. He takes us through the early Drive Thru Records years and how the band became full time. Allister has always been big in Japan, so Tim shares fond memories of touring over there and their recent visit. Tim gives his honest opinions of bands Allister has shared tours with. We also have time for listeners questions and what the future holds for Allister. We have been listening to a Chicago band called PARKER, they recently opened for Allister at their 20th anniversary show. Tim was impressed by them, so give them a listen. thewastingtimepodcast@gmail.com iTunes Instagram Twitter Facebook
