Previously, on my 2nd Episode, I talked about why I was on the Cover of Jan and Dean Take LINDA Surfin, Jan mooning me on Sunset Blvd, Easter Vacation on Palm Cnyn Dr. in Palm Springs. Finishing school in Switzerland, AND Losing my Virginity,...In this, my 3rd Episode, I skip forward 10 years, and talk about Westworld written and directed by Dr. Michael Crichton and some of this Episode is about Michael and me. Hence the name “Westworld, Crichton and Me” !….One afternoon, I had just finished my jog, was totally out of breath, when my friend Jim Brolin was driving by and stopped to say Hi as he and his wife Jane were neighbors. We chatted for a minute or two and he asked me to come by for a glass of wine. I took a quick shower, got dressed and stopped by their place. We all talked a bit and shortly after he mentioned there might or could be a part in an upcoming film at MGM & of course, my ears perked as I was very interested. Within a couple of days I had an appointment at MGM studios, where I had an interview for a role in an upcoming movie called "WESTWORLD" with Michael Crichton as Director. Who? I didn't know this director, never heard of him but anything can happen in Hollywood's film industry so I thought, it's MGM, a highly respected and well known studio, been around for decades and who, by the way, am I to question this opportunity!!! I entered the MGM lot and was ushered into a building with long corridors and many doors. Next I was led into an office where I was introduced to a very tall gentleman. At first I was taken aback by his height which seemed to be at least 6'7" and soon after learned he was 6'9". He was youngish, about 30 but quite attractive. I was delighted as he immediately put me at ease with his warm demeanor and Big Smile.. With that comfort level I was able to express my thoughts with great ease and enthusiasm. The amazing thing was ... I felt as if I'd known him for some time. Now, I assume almost everyone who is listening to this has had a familiar feeling about someone they've just met at one time or another, but on an interview well, I must say, it was unusual for me. I think you might say "we clicked & Boom, there was definitely Chemistry". As Michael put on his glasses, his eyes seemed to stare at me, almost through me which was rather strange, as if he'd known me for ages.Truly, it was almost an out of body experience (which I'd never had), but I was on an interview for an acting role and simply had to be professional and contain myself. After all, I had met him only minutes earlier. Then, a calmness took over and things returned to normal, my interview was over and as I said my good-byes I actually felt relieved in a way...Next thing I knew, I was contacted and told I had been accepted for the part of Arlette in Westworld. Well, Well, of course, I was delighted and very excited to learn I would be working with Yul Brynner, Richard Benjamin & Jim Brolin. I vividly recall how thrilled I was. Oh, I couldn't wait and was very excited to tell my mom and especially that Jim Brolin was responsible for me having the interview in the first place. (*The well known actor Josh Brolin is Jim's son and of course the beautiful Award Winning Actress Barbra Streisand is Jim's wife.)As you know, I have acted in many TV shows and films, & am familiar with what goes on & how movie sets work, etc., As you know, I have acted in many TV shows and films.

Now for the mini-story, here we go. * * * * * There was a guy named Zach. Zach loved bright and expensive clothes. Did Zach love dull clothes? Oh, no, no, he did not love dull clothes, he loved bright clothes. Did he love bright clothes or did he love dull clothes? Well, of course, bright. He loved bright clothes. What kind of clothes did he like? He liked bright clothes and expensive clothes. So did he love black and gray and brown clothes? No, no, no, those are not bright colors. He loved purple and green and pink clothes. He loved bright clothes. Who loved bright clothes? Well, Zach, Zach loved bright clothes. He loved bright, cheap clothes, right? No, no, no, no, wrong. Not bright cheap clothes, bright expensive clothes. Zach loved bright, expensive clothes.

Kaizen Vocabulary Text Welcome to the vocabulary lesson for "The Kaizen Way." Are you smiling? Big smile, remember. Body up, shoulders back. Big smile, make it bigger, come on, a huge grin. Look stupid. Look silly. What about your body? Start moving it. If you're sitting in a car, if you're sitting in a train, you know you can just move your legs around a little bit. People look at you and think you're strange, it's okay. Hopefully you have a chance, you're out walking. Get that iPod in your ears. Move your body. Energy, get some energy in your body. We're going to learn some English. Are you ready? Let's go. Vocabulary for "The Kaizen Way." Our first word from this article from this lesson is zinger, a zinger. Now a zinger is a surprise or a shock. So in the article, it came from the phrase "You want to come up with a zinger of a solution to an office problem." So a zinger of a solution means a surprise or a shock of a solution. It means a solution that is surprising, in a good way here, of course, it can be negative. Zingers can sometimes be a little bit negative, but it has this idea of something that is surprising or something that is shocking. Something that is sudden, a zinger. Alright, our next word after zinger, our next word is summon. To summon or to summon up, sometimes we'll say summon up, sometimes we just say summon. And in the article we had the phrase "Kaizen can help you summon your powers of inspiration." Summon your power, to summon means to call, call something to you, right? Like "Come here, come to me now." Or to arouse, to arouse is another similar word to summon. Or to conjure, all of these have similar meanings. So to summon your power means to call your power "Power come to me now!" That's the idea. So kaizen, this method, this way of thinking, this way of improving, little small improvements, asking little small questions, it can summon your power. It calls your power to you. It gives you power. So again, to summon means to call someone or something to you. It's kind of like saying "Come to me. Come now." To summon, to summon. Next we have the phrase to cough up, to cough up. Now cough up has a very direct meaning, a very physical meaning. But then it also has more of a mental idea meaning. And let me read the phrase, in the phrase it says "Although you can't force your brain to cough up creative ideas, you can program it." Okay, to cough up means to give or to produce quickly, right? To make something happen quickly, to give quickly, this idea of calling up actually. And it comes from, physically, it means if we cough we would say "cough, cough, cough", right, so if you cough something up, imagine you eat something and then "cough" you cough it up, it comes from your stomach, up and out your mouth again. So thať's the direct physical meaning. This idea that something is inside and then you bleah, you cough it out. It comes out of your mouth. So if you have that idea

What did he like to shoot? Mosquitoes, Filbert liked to shoot mosquitoes. With what?

Reading Power Vocabulary Text Hello, this is AJ again. Big smile...deep breath. Move that body, let's start the vocabulary lesson for "The Power of Reading." Okay, one of the words we had in there was competence. Now, Dr. Krashen said people develop competence when they read. They develop the competence they need to move from the beginning level to a level where they can use the language for more difficult purposes. Competence, competence. Competence means skill or ability. So when you read you develop more advanced skill in English. You develop more advanced competence in English. So competence means skill or ability. And then we have the word demanding, right? He says you develop the competence for more demanding purposes. More demanding purposes, more demanding actions. More demanding challenges. Demanding just means difficult. Difficult. So in other words you get better and better. You can do more difficult things with the language. So in the beginning maybe you have very simple, low level English or maybe intermediate level English. Probably most of you are intermediate level. If you read my website and bought my lessons you are definitely intermediate level. So if you're intermediate level but you want to use English for more demanding purposes, more difficult purposes. Maybe now you can talk a little bit but you can't go to a high level business meeting and use English very well. That's a demanding purpose. It's a more difficult situation. It's a more demanding situation. So again, demanding has this idea of difficult, something that's difficult. Alright, then we also had the word literacy. Literacy, that people develop literacy by reading. Surprise, surprise, that seems pretty logical. Literacy means the ability to read well. So again, literacy is just the skill, the competence, the ability to read well. It has this idea of proficiency or ability. It means you're good at something. Now, usually it means good at reading. We do sometimes use it in a more general way, where you could say "I have good computer literacy," for example. Now, we're not talking about reading. We're just saying computer ability. Basic competence with a computer, we would say computer literacy. It means I understand computers, I can use computers. I'm not an expert but, y'know, I'm good enough. But more specifically, and in this article especially, literacy just means the ability to read well. Okay, we had another little phrase, well read. In the sentence it said "We rarely find well read people who have serious problems with grammar." Okay, so well read means, it just means that you have read a lot of books. A well read person is someone who has read a lot. That means you have read a lot. You know a lot about books. Well not about books, it means you actually have read books. You've read a lot of books. So
