In the 10th episode of The Senior Soup Podcast, Sunrise Senior Living National Director of Business Development Tom Berry joined Raquel and Ryan to share all about the Sunrise experience and what prospective residents (and their families) should expect the first time they walk into a Sunrise Senior Living community. Sunrise Senior Living | The Vision & The Experience The podcast begins with Tom Berry walking the audience through his 20+ year career at Sunrise Senior Living and the history of Sunrise. Tom shares what prospective residents (and their families) should expect and feel when they first walk through the doors of a Sunrise Senior Living community. Then Tom, Raquel, and Ryan discuss what services and hospitality are offered at Sunrise Senior Living. Raquel steers the conversation back home: She asks Tom how families would choose among the nine Sunrise Senior Living communities in Montgomery County. Nine minutes into the podcast, Raquel highlighted Sunrise Senior Living's new vision that was announced by its CEO in November 2022, and she asked Tom to unwind said vision and expound upon what inspired it. Ryan asks Tom about Sunrise Senior Living's renewed focus on hospitality while balancing the need for outstanding care. Tom, Raquel, and Ryan then shift the conversation to breaking down misconceptions around senior living with a throwback audio clip from season one of The Sopranos. Raquel then asks Tom about some of the distinct programs Sunrise Senior Living has implemented for residents. Ryan and Raquel give kudos to Rachael Cicconi, Sunrise Senior Living's Montgomery County, Maryland director of business development, for connecting the local Montgomery County community to the nine Sunrise communities within the county. Tom, Raquel, and Ryan then discuss how Sunrise Senior Living includes animals within their communities, which speaks to Sunrise's culture and sense of community. Before ending the podcast, Raquel tossed out a nugget to the audience: Tom Berry previously hosted a television show about senior issues in the Northern California media market. Tom Berry, Jr. joins All Gas, No Brakes host Scott Barglof on today's podcast. Tom will be making the trip to the 25th Annual Duel in the Desert November 10-12 in his Modified. Tom has been racing a Modified since 2010 and jumped into a Stock Car in 2021 and began his campaign in both cars.Tom is based out of Des Moines, Iowa, and runs a Team Harris Auto Racing chassis. This won't be the first time Tom has made the trip down to the desert in Las Vegas in hopes of winning the Modified gem.“Have a good race car and a good pill draw, and keep the nose clean and do what we can to just be in the right position to make our moves and make our passes,” remarked Berry Jr. when asked what it would take to finally pick up the big Duel in the Desert win.Tom has the confidence in his Modified program going into the 25th Annual Duel in the Desert, but he will also throw his hat in the ring with his Wollam-owned 11X Stock Car and the $25,000-to-win 100-lapper XRSS Karl Kustom Stock Car Championship. After the Iowa Dirt Nationals Tom found himself tied 12th in XRSS Karl Kustoms Stock Car points so he decided to load up the Stock Car and make the attempt to increase his points and start in the top six or eight. “I've talked to Elijah Zevenbergen, Damon Murty, and I've talked to a lot of people and they truthfully are on sides with me where if you have a car starting 12th, or you know you might even be able to tail-back with 100 laps if the track is super racey,” says Tom. “But we just decided the Stock Car crew wanted a vacation; they haven't really traveled much outside of Iowa since I started driving for them besides Batesville last year,” continued Tom. “So they kinda just wanted to start doing that, so we decided to bring the Stock Car out.”Tom is excited about competing at the same time the XRSS Late Models roll into town and is cognizant of the first impression he makes while they're around. His next racing goal is to find a Late Model ride in which to compete.

Branding guru Marty Neumeier says, a brand strategy is “a plan for the systematic development of brand in alignment with a business strategy.” Brand strategy is part of a business plan that outlines how the company will build rapport and favorability within the market. The goal of a brand strategy is to become memorable in the eyes of the consumer so that they decide to patronize your business over the competition. For discussing on this topic we have with us Tom Berry. He is brand strategist & Creative director at Studio Bennu. We got confused! It's medical procedures week, but Sam jumped the gun and did a man behaving badly. Doh. Tom kicks us off with a look at the early 20th century obsession with grafting bits of animal (or criminal) testicle onto the knackers of well-to-do gentlemen and professional sportsmen to boost their performance. Meanwhile, Sam's been looking at Saci, the naughty, smelly, wish-granting, smelly, impish, smelly Brazilian folk legend. Next week's episode is a patron exclusive all about Men Behaving Badly (again, for Sam)! Find it at patreon.com/thatwasgenius Subscribe and listen to us! Apple Music // Podbean // Overcast // Stitcher // TuneIn // Spotify Welcome to That Was Genius: Two blokes. An immature sense of humour. And 10,000 years of human civilisation. Join Sam Datta-Paulin (he likes history and lives in Britain) and Tom Berry (he also likes history and used to live in New Zealand but is now in the UK as well), for a weekly reflection on the bold, the brilliant... And the downright strange. From bizarre events and stories to equally odd inventions, barely a day goes by without something incredible (or incredibly stupid) happening around the world. Choo choo, steaming in two months late, we're back! This week it's all about trains. Sam kicks us off with a look at the Australian 'Afghan' or 'Ghan' camel trains of the 19th century. Next, Tom's looking at the ancient Greek sort-of-railway, sort of road for boats, the 'Diolkos'. Next week's episode is a patron exclusive all about people called Tom and Sam! Tom Berry, Joshua Segundo, and Lincoln Crefelts talk about things.
The Filmroom consists of three friends who met many years ago, Joshua Segundo, Tom Berry, & Lincoln Crefelts by waiting tables in the same restaurant in San Antonio, Texas. The three quickly found they had shared interest in sports, film, and music and decided to create a place where they could put their thoughts and knowledge into physical history in the form of articles and podcasts. The Filmroom aims to bring you the most in-depth analysis and accurate information regarding a wide array of topics but catered primarily to the worlds of Sports and Entertainment.
After being hit with the financial crisis of 2007, Tom Berry needed to work on something to get him back on his feet. He went off buying properties and investing in real estate. What separates him from the rest who attempted to go the same path is that he and his team never used a penny of bank money to source for money. He is a seasoned investor, teacher, and the founder of Investor Loan Source which is one of his primary vehicles for assisting fellow investors. Tom shares his journey on how he built Investor Loan Source and provides great wisdom on private lending and how you can also do the same. — Listen to the podcast here: Tom Berry Discusses How Investor Loan Source Was Funded Without Bank Money I have a question for you. Are you an investor looking for funding for your next fix and flip or maybe your next rental? Or maybe even you're owner finance or seller finance or looking for some funding that you can wrap to sell to your end client, to your buyer or tenant. If you're an investor or a lender who is looking to passively invest in real estate while others do the work, then you're in luck because https://tomberryrei.com/ (Tom Berry) will loan you money for your deals and/or he will put your money to work by lending it to mortgages backed by real estate. This is really geared for accredited investors. You and your spouse have to make $300,000 a year or you as a single person can make $200,000 a year or have a $1 million net worth that does not include your homestead. I've been waiting to get Tom on the show for a while. I'm very happy he agreed. — I’m more than honored and pleased to introduce to you Mr. Tom Berry who is with https://ils.cash/ (Investor Loan Source) and is the reason that I have this podcast is that I’m a private lender. Tom, welcome to the show. Thank you for joining me. Thanks for having me. I appreciate it. I met Tom at https://www.questira.com/ (Quest IRA) in Houston. He was looking for money. He has a great hero background story. How did you get into real estate? I know you came from a different background like most of us in real estate. Can you give us your background story? My wife and I had a financial services firm. We moved from Ohio down to Texas about a year before the financial bubble burst. In 2007, we lost everything. We went from riding high in 2006 to nothing in 2007. We were part of a lot of people that were out there looking for work and trying to figure out what we were going to do next. I couldn’t find a job. I put out resumes. I couldn’t even get a phone call. I told my wife one day, “If nobody’s going to offer me a job, I'm going to make one.” She’s like, “What does that even mean?” I said, “If I don’t have a job, I've got to do something. I've got to start some little business, a little company or something.” I've always wanted to do real estate and my other job and my other career never allowed the opportunity timing-wise. I guess the opportunity was given to me and it was a blessing in disguise. We didn’t look at it as such at the time, but it allowed me to get into real estate. Like most people that are starting where we were financially, we started out wholesaling. Then we figured out how we can do a couple of fix and flips. We figured out, “We could keep some of these rentals.” We accumulated 425 doors, made over $100,000 a year every year including our first year in cash and were completely and totally financially independent and multimillionaires. Just because you said you’ve got to do something and no one would hire you. It pissed me off. I guess necessity is the mother of invention. I’m not a person to sit around on my hands and wait for somebody to come to give me something. If there’s no opportunity out there, I’m going to go make one. That’s what it was. I was angry not at anybody in particular. I was angry at my position and my situation at
