Michael's getting closer to #1 on the chart, next up is Kendrick Lamar's TPAB
Was läuft? Was läuft? Was läuft? Was habe ich alles gemacht?

Music can help heal like nothing else. What else better than K. Dot's critically claimed album to aid in a time of suffering? Rick and Jair breakdown TPAB. They cover the album art, what makes the album great, personal favorite track highlights, top 3 song power rankings, and its place in hip hop culture. Jair amazes with a powerful opening statement with a story of Kendrick Lamar. Admissible Bias (A/B) takes on subjects, ideas, and even conspiracy theories each episode. They hit categories from the sports world, pop culture, music, entertainment, and more. Rick & Jay both want to push the culture forward, but how they go about it can lead to a differentiation of ideas. Their highly opinionated, SEO educated, and social media substantiated views always show us that there are multiple sides and layers to every story. Rick and Jay lean into the bias, sprinkle in their truths, and mix it all up in in a battle for the hearts and minds of you, the jury. Email: admissiblebias@gmail.com

Speaking of bozos, Adrien Broner's current legal shenanigans were discussed and the guys had no good things to say. I took to Twitter to defend the honor of Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly recently. I was told in no uncertain terms that the gentleman who I defended TPAB against was coming to discuss this issue at length on THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST. That gentleman happened to be Marcus ShowinmadLov Robinson, sponsor of the show through his own website themarcrob dot wordpress dot com, so I was more than happy to oblige. He brought beer. We started talking. We eventually got down to our sides of the TPAB/DAMN. argument. We delved into the Drake side of things at length. There may be long musical interludes. We spent the first hour talking about a whole list of topics. When I signed off, we had a two hour podcast. Should I break it up? NAH. We live baby. I proudly give you the Charles Barkley episode of Hyphen Nation. SC6 is a disappointment. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hyphen-nation/support
Kendrick Lamar dropped his highly anticipated follow up to TPAB. His new album titled DAMN. has taken the music industry by storm. After dropping singles The Heart Pt. 4 and Humble, including a very creative video. Kung Fu Kenny gave us arguably another classic. So how does this compare to his previous albums? Is he in the GOAT convo with this album? Where does he rank among the MC's of today? Is this album hype or is it legit? We try our best unpack the many layers of this album. We have a full house on this episode. Joining me is George, Jeff, and Chris is back. We will drop part 2 soon. So enjoy!
“You can’t deny J. Cole’s talent, but where does he stack amongst his peers? He’s not event Top 5 right now.” — NYGHT “J. Cole is not a rapper’s rapper — he’s a mainstream artist that makes entry level conscious rap music.” — MR. PRODUCER “You can’t penalize J. Cole for making music for a wider audience — He’s successful because he’s relatable.” — MAJID “As much as I love Kendrick, most rap fans can’t sing along to his records like they do with J. Cole.” — MAJID “J. Cole is a lot more capable than his 3 albums have led us to believe he is. TPAB will push him to make better music.” — Justin “Other rapper’s do what he does better than he does it, they’re just not as commercially succesful. There is nothing ground breaking about J.Cole!” — MR. PRODUCER “In comparison to Mick Jenkins, Lupe & Kendrick — There’s nothing challenging about J. Cole’s music.” — NYGHT “J. Cole is the comfort food of rap, it’s not 5 star, but we know what we’re getting, we’re used to it and we’re never disappointed.” — ASIA “All I’m saying is, why do we have to hate on J. Cole because he’s at piece with himself as an artist?” — ASIA “J. Cole has gotten comfortable with releasing lowest common denominator music. I hope Kendrick pushes him to change that.” — JUSTIN Panel: - NYGHT - MR. PRODUCER - MAJID - JUSTIN D. - ASIA

Armond & Doc continue on this week by discussing their Top 10 (or 11) albums of 2015 - where did Kendrick's album rank? Did Future get any projects on either list? Did Armond & Doc agree on anything? All this plus Doc & Armond really get into the whole concept of TPAB being "challenging" - is it because of the content? Is it because it's jazz based? Is it because it's "different"? With Dev out, Milan and I decided to discuss some current events, including the Oklahoma SAE video (and the ignorant news anchor that wants to blame hip-hop for this) and our reaction to the album artwork for Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly. Of course, TDE decided to drop the album a week early (after we had already recorded the episode), so we'll be sure to do an episode on our reactions to the album as a whole. We also take a little time at the beginning to talk about these new headphone parties that are apparently a thing.
