Tim and Rich flashback to Texas in 1984. Tragedy had struck the Von Erich family in February when David Von Erich was stricken with an intestinal illness and passed away while on tour in Japan. Fritz, the patriarch and promoter of World Class Championship Wrestling assembled a super card in his honor with the main event being Ric Flair vs Kerry Von Erich for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. The card is sprinkled with other familiar faces, like Kamala the Ugandan Giant, The Fabulous Freebirds, Butch Reed, and the rest of the Von Erich clan, including Fritz, who returned to the ring to defend the family's honor. This was an emotionally charged show with great action and one of the loudest and passionate stadium crowds we've ever seen on this show. Thanks for listening! I could not, in good conscience, put anything else in that headline. It deserves its own space to live and breathe. There isn't anything else that I could have put there that would have made it any better. It just would have made it worse. In this episode, we discover that Vice President Kamala Harris shares the same last name as Kamala the Ugandan Giant whose real name was James Harris. Mind = Blown. We were equally mind blown to hear her profound speech about space. She's truly one of a kind. Steve From Providence joins DEC. Or should I say, bashes DEC and lists the reason so many people hate him. Basically, Steve thinks DEC acts like a weasel and has an MO with people he fights. What do you think? Then it's a serious discussion of Kirk Minihane and his leave. The guys talk about Steve Robinson and speculate if he is looking for opportunities, which so much uncertainty on the show. Steve and DEC talk about show grief and what DEC would do if KMS is no longer available. Steve laughs at DEC's expense for the lack of jobs he's had in the voiceover market. Then on a lighter topic, Steve and DEC talk about Rockers tag star Marty Jannetty and his alleged murder confession. As children of the 80's, Steve and DEC talk about the mess that life is after the crowds stop cheering your name. They honor the life of Kamala the Ugandan Giant, who died over the weekend and talk about the obvious racism of his gimmack. Plus, an unfortunate 80's diet plan. Please support our sponsors. Here is podcast I did with WWE/WWF Legend Kamala (James Harris) back in 2012. It was the 5th podcast I ever hosted so please ignore the stuttering, stammering and complete lack of interviewing skills. Kamala joined me and we talk about having his leg amputated and his current health situation. We chat about growing up in Mississippi and what lead him up to Michigan to start wrestling. Kamala tell us about his early gimmicks (Sugar Bear and Ugly Bear) and how Jerry “The King” Lawler introduced him to the Ugandan Giant gimmick that changed his life. James Harris tells us about his historic feuds with Andre The Giant and Hulk Hogan and why he never fought in a WrestleMania. He takes us behind the scenes, on the reason for his departure from the WWF after his coffin match with the Undertaker in 1992. From getting a check for UNDER $2.00 from WWF to Kamala’s refusal to break character made him have a run in with the law. Rest in Peace James Harris, thank you for 8 years of friendship!

Join Dr. Carlos as he chats with Kamala. Kamala "The Ugandan Giant" was a tribal, monster-like character that wrestling fans feared everywhere in the 80s & 90s. Never speaking once during his 30 year career, we finally hear what it was like for James Harris to wrestle headline matches in every major promotion, against Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, The Undertaker, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, The Ultimate Warrior and more. After traveling the world, he now ironically looks out his back kitchen window each day from a wheel chair, immobilized as a victim of diabetes. "Kamala Speaks" is a story of inspiration; a wrestling-memoir loaded with touching anecdotes, humor and insight. It is not an angry/bitter tale told from someone harping on missed opportunity, but rather one of survival and hope for all.

Hailing from the Jungles of Uganda, Kamala was one of the most savage and terrifying Superstars professional wrestling has ever seen. No one, not even his long-time handler, Kim Chee ever seemed to know what the Ugandan Giant's next move would be, leading to a many bad nights for the men that stood across from him. Having trained alongside names like Michael Hayes, Percy Pringle, and Terry Gordy just to name a few, Kamala was groomed to be one of the greats. He debuted in 1978, facing The Great Mephisto. Harris originally wrestled as Sugar Bear Harris, then "Ugly Bear" Harris and "Big" Jim Harris. In 1982, Kamala first came into the wrestling scene when he was brought into Mid-South and World Class Championship Wrestling by the devious General Skandor Akbar. While there, he terrorized numerous opponents before leaving for WWE in 1984 going on to face superstars like The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, and Jake "The Snake" Roberts for example. Tonight Oscar and Sir Mo will speak about all that and so much more when Kamala invades Not Yo Mommas Radio show
