Full-cast audio dramas dominate the podcasting charts. Producers have to write the scripts, cast the talent, do all the sound effects, the music, the editing… it's a ton of work. Fool & Scholar Production's Travis Vengroff joins us to talk about the work that goes into this art form. With popular dramas like THE WHITE VAULT, VAST HORIZONS, and DARK DICE under his belt, he knows of what he speaks. Created by Scott Sigler and A B Kovacs. From the creators of the White Vault and Liberty: Tales from the Tower, check out Dark Dice wherever you listen to podcasts.
Greetings, this is Travis Vengroff, the co-creator, and producer behind The White Vault: Avrum. Avrum is a full self-contained story that takes place within the White Vault universe, which means that if you enjoy it, we've created more audio adventures just like it. We're about to travel to Ukraine in the year 1648, during one of the most terrible events in Jewish history - the Cossack Uprising… Our story follows a young Jewish boy named Avrum, who must figure out what to do after his family and community vanish overnight, murdered by Cossacks. This story is historical fiction, and while the individual characters depicted are made up, the events that take place in our story are real and depicted with chilling accuracy. Many of us on the cast and crew are the descendants of survivors. We went through great pains to ensure historical accuracy in every element, from dialogue and region and period unique sounds, to the Ukrainian, Hebrew, Georgian, and Eastern Yiddish, all spoken by native speakers. You are about to hear our second episode, which is rated PG-13 for depictions of some of the horrors that took place on that night in 1648. At this point in the story, Avrum has lost his mother, father, and brother, and is on the road to Nemerov in the hopes of uniting with his distant cousins. So prepare yourself for a journey into darkened pages of history in The White Vault – Avrum. Greetings, this is Travis Vengroff, the sound designer and producer of The White Vault. Grab a mug of coffee and your ice axe because we're about to go on a rescue mission to Patagonia after an archeology team goes missing. Icy winds, miles of treacherous terrain, a mysterious interference- separates the teams from the nearest human settlement. So far from aid, they find that they're not alone… In the episode you are about to hear - Season four, episode seven: Confess, – the team is hunted as they try to make their escape from deep within the archaeological site. This episode is rated R for language, violence, and the show is intended for mature audiences. As a warning, this episode contains spoilers for the series, so if you're concerned you can start with episode one of The White Vault. Otherwise, prepare to join our team as everything goes wrong in scenic Patagonia, when Travel is Not Advised. If you're listening to this, then odds are, that you enjoy hearing the voices of Soren Arkwright, Iaus Innskeep, Father Westpike, Flygia, and Rowena, and while I'm DESPERATELY working to bring you new episodes, I wanted to share a hidden treasure-trove with you tonight - the story that is literally how we all met started Dark Dice. It's called - The White Vault, a full-cast horror audio drama podcast written by Kaitlin Statz, the voice of Sister Cavernsfall, with sound design by yours truly... The White Vault's main story is five seasons long, and I'm bringing it to your attention now because we are about to launch our FINAL season next month in October, and members of our Patreon team that month, at any pledge level, are going to be mailed an exclusive rocker patch. Your favorite voices, mentioned earlier, are a research team that's stuck in a small outpost in the Arctic... trapped in a blizzard in one of the most remote places on earth, they discover that they are not alone, and that something terrible is lurking just beneath the ice...You're about to hear our first episode: Fristed, and if you enjoy it you can hear more by subscribing to The White Vault wherever you listen to podcasts, or you can hear it, and all of our shows, ad free by subscribing to our patreon.
