WrestleMania VI was held at the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada! With a huge card, this WrestleMania would be memorable. Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase vs. Jake the Snake Roberts, Macho King Randy Savage and Sensational Queen Sherri vs. Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire, WWE Tag Champions Andre the Giant and Haku defend against Demolition, The Rockers vs. The Orient Express, and in the huge main event, WWE Champion Hulk Hogan takes on the Ultimate Challenge as he defends against WWE Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior, plus more!
Our 'Go Home' series continues along with Justine Cager, looking back at the episode of WWF Superstars of Wrestling that aired the day before the Ultimate Challenge & WrestleMania VI. Judge for yourself from some of the descriptions of the promos from this show just how many 'energy drinks' were being consumed in the WWF in early 1990.
On this episode of the Noobs and Knockouts Podcast, we return to 1990 one last time to watch WrestleMania VI! THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE HAS ARRIVED, Ultimate Warrior vs Hulk Hogan for both titles! Plus, Jake Roberts vs Ted DiBiase for the Million Dollar Championship, a cop battles a fake African (yikes), a mixed gender tag match for royalty, backstage skits with Steve Allen, and more! Won't you join us?
Most of this show can honestly be described as, "This is stuff we could have, and SHOULD HAVE, only had to see on Nitro or Thunder." Unfortunately, they threw it onto a show they expected people to pay for. However, those are not the big stories of this show. The two biggest stories of Halloween Havoc 1998 were the disastrous, craptastic match between Hollywood Hogan and The Warrior that was more historically bad than their WrestleMania VI match was good. Then, WCW follows that up with possibly the best match of Goldberg's career as he defends the WCW Title against Diamond Dallas Page. However, WCW forgot to let PPV providers know they were going to run very late, so viewers sat through the embarrassing Hogan/Warrior match, then as soon as Goldberg and DDP tied up, the PPV feed cut off. WCW had to show the match for free the next night on Nitro, costing them boat loads of money and angering PPV providers. In the news, Raw steamrolls Nitro in the ratings as Stone Cold abducts Mr. McMahon and makes him pee himself, the WWF works with both Mexican and Japanese promotions, Scott Hall's ex-wife speaks publicly about the wrestling industry, WCW diminishes their Mexican talent while Goldberg diminishes Chris Jericho, the ECW Tag Champions refuse to lose to the Dudley Boyz, roller derby is coming back, an historic wrestling promoter is close to death, and much more! The Attitude Of Aggression returns for, quite likely, the most anticipated Chapter in The Big Four Project's relatively young history. It is time for Chapter 7 of The Big Four Project, a chronological analysis, review, and discussion about WWE's Big Four PPVs/ Premium Live Events. This chapter is all about The Ultimate Challenge and on this Episode, Dave is again joined by the one and only PC Tunney, along with the returning DJ of the Mindless Wrestling Podcast, to discuss two more huge events in pro wrestling history, Royal Rumble '90 and WrestleMania VI. In January of 1990, Vince McMahon pulled the trigger and set in motion events that had never been seen or done before as the two most popular baby-faces in the WWF at that time, Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior, were pitted against each other with everything on the line. From their first mini confrontation at the Rumble to the epic Main Event of WrestleMania VI, we cover all the key events leading up to one of the most iconic matches in WrestleMania history. And, for the first time ever in the history of the Attitude Of Aggression, we have a watch-along of that tremendous Main Event. All that, and much more, including Dave's thoughts on the passing of Terry Funk & Bray Wyatt. All roads to the Ultimate Challenge lead here on Chapter 7 of The Big Four Project!About the Chairshot Radio NetworkCreated in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in wrestling and wrestling crossover podcasts, including POD is WAR, Women's Wrestling Talk, Chairshot Radio daily editions, The #Miranda Show, Badlands' Wrestling Mount Rushmores, The Outsider's Edge, DWI Podcast, Bandwagon Nerds, the Greg DeMarco Show, 3 Man Weave, Five Rounds, Turnbuckle Talk, The Reaction and more! Challenges, Slaves, Squashes Aside from its record-breaking attendance, the event is arguably best remembered for "The Ultimate Challenge"—the main event match which saw Hulk Hogan (WWF Champion) vs. The Ultimate Warrior (WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion), in which both championship titles were on the line. On February 3, 1990, a week after Hogan and Warrior crossed paths in the 1990 Royal Rumble match, Hogan put forth "The Ultimate Challenge" to Warrior, and had to know whether Hulkamania or the power of Warrior was the strongest force in the WWF. On February 10, the match was officially announced as the main event of WrestleMania VI by then WWF President Jack Tunney. On February 24, Tunney announced that both the WWF Championship and Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship would be on the line for the first time ever during the match. At WrestleMania VI, Warrior won his sole WWF Championship. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

As we gear up towards our episode focusing on Wrestlemania VI, what better from the vault interview should we release then this one. "The Genius" Lanny Poffo was one of the main stars in the WWF during the early to mid 90's, finding success as the "Genius" he would go on to not only defeat Hulk Hogan in an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event but would feature in Wrestlemania VI itself in a match against Brutus the Barber Beefcake. Sit back and enjoy this retrospective look back as Lanny talks his career, thoughts on the "Macho Man" plus an interesting Wrestlemania VI story regarding Vince McMahon. We've reached the grandaddy of them all with our rebooking of 1990 WWF; Wrestlemania VI!
Joined by Guest Tangler Chris Antista, Chris hosts such podcasts as Laser Time, Thirty Twenty Ten, and Vidjagame Apocalypse: This week the Tanglers head back in time 31 years to Atlanta, right next to the Turner broadcasting tower which is broadcasting Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue, a "drug-abuse prevention television special" starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Garfield, the Smurfs, and many more! The Tanglers round out their 1990 research by examining Wrestlemania VI, New Kids on the Block, Twin Peaks, The Simpsons, Wilson Phillips, Biz Markie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pretty Woman, Dick Tracy, Days of Thunder, and Total Recall. Also, they may have turned Milli Vanilli into a cultural phenomenon spanning three decades with no end in sight.
Happened In the 90's hosted by Steve and Matt picks a day, any day, and then goes back in time to that magical decade we all know and love the 90's, to revisit episodes of tv, movies that premiered, or cultural events that occured on that day in the 90's. This week we cover April 1st: Steve and Matt open by detailing their shared hatred of the Everet College/ICDC College commercial guy who used to shame people watching tv at 2am into thinking they weren't shit and needed an Associates Degree. Everyone Dies In Sunderland: A podcast about growing up terrified in the eighties and nineties
The gang takes a look at the murder of noted dermatologist Dr David Birkett by the notable idiot Reg Wilson, an attempt to commit the perfect murder with the aid of Japanese erotica, stencils and crashing a motorbike into a wall like Jay did on The Inbetweeners that time, but still managing to leave fingerprints at the scene. Reg did manage to build a ladder in a maximum security prison though, so that's something.John is quite mean to Lewis Capaldi and names a section of his lawn after an unnamed actor. Gareth wants to know how to kill a Rottweiler. Claire knows how to kill a Rottweiler. Gareth sings “The Circle of Life” from the Lion King. This is unconnected to the Rottweiler stuff. Timmy Mallett invites a friend of the show to stay for Christmas. Consett's Premier Ellie Kemper Impersonator also makes her first IRL appearance. Digressions in this episode include: Legendary Newcastle floating nitespot the Tuxedo Princess, Wrestlemania VI and mortality, getting a lift with Samuel Beckett, unlikely Daniel Bedingfield merchandise, The Wizard, the SNES, Rilo Kiley, Mel Smith's dad being from Tow Law, The Piglet Files, Crime Traveller, fuzzy felt, Sooty (well, Sweep) and rebel cricket tours of apartheid South Africa. We would love for you to speculate at the identity of the actor inverviewed by John at everyonediesinsunderland@gmail.com, on Twitter at @everyonediespod, on Facebook and Instagram. But we will confirm NOTHING!We'd also love to hear your playground chants. Do you remember the “Margaret Thatcher, stick her in the bin” song? Surely you remember the "Margaret Thatcher, stick her in the bin” song.Sooty, Sue and Mr Harry are enjoying a refined musical evening. Sweep interrupts with a series of increasingly unsuitable instruments. IT'S EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF! Co-host Greg's little Hulkamaniac heart was racing for this one as Hulk Hogan came face-to-face with the Ultimate Warrior for the first time in the Royal Rumble match! This show was building up to the historic WrestleMania VI where those two clashed in Toronto. Andre the Giant made his final Royal Rumble appearance. You'll also hear Bruce's take on Disco Inferno among many other WCW talent, including details of the conversations Sting had with the WWF over the years. What if Sting would have jumped in 1988? Box Brown has been a pro wrestling fan since his first PPV experience: Hulk Hogan lost at Wrestlemania VI, and the friend he was watching with cried. He was hooked by the characters and the facade of it all, so it's no wonder that he became attracted to two huge cults of personality in André and Andy. André left a bevy of stories in his wake, one of which inspired Box to draw the first comic of what eventually became his book, André the Giant: Life and Legend. Later, Box was hooked by the way Andy borrowed the idea of wrestlers being enveloped by their characters into comedy, and his antics with Jerry Lawler on Letterman secured him a place in the history of wrestling's secrets and Box's interest. Notes: Box's most recent book, Is This Guy For Real?: The Unbelievable Andy Kaufman is a fascinating read for fans of comedy and wrestling alike. Thanks to Cards Against Humanity, the Chicago Podcast Cooperative, and C2E2 for making this happen, and thanks to Overcast for sponsoring the episode.

The Outer Limits of Inner Truth proudly presents an introspective interview with and Forensic Soul Analysis on Diamond Dallas Page (DDP). Show Key (In Order of Appearance) 02:14 - Diamond Dallas Page 30:23 - Psychic Medium Kerrie O'Connor 36:28 - Astrologer Constance Stellas 47:50 - Past Life Reader Laura Lyn 53:00 - Psychic Empath Lisa Caza Diamond Dallas Page is an Author & Professional Wrestling Legend. Page's drive and ambition would lead him on an inspirational journey from being three-time world wrestling champion to his current endeavor of inspiring others to Own Your Life. DDP has developed his life changing DDPYoga including books, audio cd's and DVD workouts and is touring the country to promote his system and after life changing results. After reaching several athletic goals, DDP decided that he could and would do something that had never been done before… in any sport. Approaching 36, he became the oldest rookie in history and started wrestling at an age at which most athletes reflect on their careers, Page was ready to put in all on the line and on the mat to stay healthy enough to climb from the bottom of the ladder to the main event. His incredible work ethic, training regimen and preventative maintenance along with unmatched personal focus and determination enabled him to battle the hands of time and stay healthy enough to wrestle with men half his age for years to come. His uncanny ability to create his character along with story lines that fans could relate to propelled him to national notoriety, and made him one of the hottest merchandising commodities in professional wrestling. Diamond Dallas Page recently starred in the 2015 critically acclaimed film Starting his career as a manager in the American Wrestling Association in the late '80s, Diamond Dallas Page actually made his first WWE appearance in 1990 when he drove The Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine to the ring in his pink Cadillac at WrestleMania VI. This would be DDP's last appearance with WWE for over a decade, however, as he was a manager of World Tag Team Champions in the AWA (Badd Company) and then WCW (The Fabulous Freebird). Quickly, the talented talker built a larger stable known as The Diamond Mine, which included The Diamond Dolls and The Diamond Studd (Scott Hall). That same year, at the unthinkable age of 35, Page began to compete in the ring, experiencing little success at first. In 1994, Page left managing behind completely and began wrestling full time. With a newfound focus, the New Jersey-native started to chalk up victories thanks to his Diamond Cutter finishing maneuver and won the WCW Television Championship from Renegade at Fall Brawl in 1995. Page's talent and popularity continued to grow, hitting its peak in 1997 when he stood up to the despised New World Order, a villainous faction led by "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash that was looking to take down WCW. Now one of the most beloved figures in WCW, DDP battled the NWO week in and week out to big ratings and packed houses. By 1998, WCW's Monday Nitro was among the most-watched shows on cable and Page was one of its biggest stars. This newfound celebrity gave DDP the opportunity to compete in some unique, high-profile matches, including teaming with NBA legend Karl Malone and talk show host Jay Leno on separate occasions. Page's success in WCW included winning the the World Television Championship, 2 United States Championships, 3 World Heavyweight Championships and 4 World Tag Team Championships. Always one to keep people guessing, Diamond Dallas Page made a surprise return in the 2015 Royal Rumble Match to the delight of the WWE Universe. DDP proved he could still compete with a "BANG!" by executing a number of Diamond Cutters before being eliminated.
