Vaig tornar del viatge malalt, de fet vaig estar dos terceres parts del viatge amb un refredat molt fort, que va començar com si fos una grip, perquè vaig estar dos o tres dies així amb febre, llavors la cosa va… es va suavitzar i vaig estar molts dies amb mucositat i tos, i els tres últims dies altre cop amb febre i molta tos, i al final va ser una bronquitis. Llavors, aquesta setmana he estat que no servia per a res i encara m'estic recuperant. Joan: [1:05] Però el viatge va anar bé o no vas poder-ne gaudir? Andreu: [1:08] Sí! No, sí, sí, ho vam fer tot, gràcies a la medicina, a la ciència, als (ibuprofens) i paracetamols. Sí, vam fer totes les excursions, vam veure les glaceres… bé, la més famosa és el Perito Moreno. Joan: [1:22] Perquè vas explicar que anaves a l'Argentina, en episodis anteriors? Andreu: [1:25] Crec que sí, que vaig dir que anava a l'Argentina. Potser el que no vaig dir va ser que anava concretament a la part del sud, de la Patagònia, que són tot paratges naturals brutals. Joan: [1:36] Preciosos. Molt bé. Andreu: [1:38] I, vull dir, molts llacs, moltes muntanyes… A la part del Calafate, que és com més o menys al mig de la Patagònia, és tot… bé, a l'Argentina hi ha molt territori que és estepa, no?, que és com desert, pràcticament, no hi ha res. I llavors tu estàs allà, veus l'estepa, que és tot més o menys pla, no hi ha pràcticament vegetació i tal, i de cop tens els Andes, bum!, muntanyes, saps? O sigui, no és com aquí que tenim el Prepirineu, que comença a haver-hi una mica de muntanyes, que es van fent més altes, més altes… Joan: [2:11] O sigui, és com si de cop pugés una muntanya allà a l'horitzó enorme, no? Andreu: [2:15] Sí, sí, sí. O sigui, tu estàs al desert i, de cop, muntanyes nevades. És molt curiós. I els llacs també són impressionants… Hi ha un llac que es diu Lago Argentino, que té un color blau cel, però un blau superclar, que es veu que és pels sediments de les glaceres, que generen a l'erosionar la roca, no?, perquè, clar, tot aquell gel, que és neu compactada, però és gel, diguéssim, doncs fa això, una erosió de la roca, que després deixa unes partícules en suspensió a l'aigua que no acaben mai de precipitar. I llavors té aquest color com... és com un… sí, un blau molt molt claret, no ho sé, molt curiós. Joan: [2:56] Que curiós. Andreu: [2:57] I després, més al sud, a Ushuaia, que en diuen "el fin del mundo", la Tierra de Fuego, doncs allà vam veure pingüins, lleons marins, també, vam veure còndors… Joan: [3:09] Molt bé, molt bé. Andreu: [3:10] Buà, va ser… va ser molt molt guai. Dans quelques jours, il y aura une annonce à propos de la tour Eiffel ! Nous allons découvrir les 72 noms de femmes scientifiques qui vont être inscrits sur la tour.  Béatrice Marticorena, scientifique au CNRS a participé à une commission d'experts. J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer Béatrice Marticorena, directrice de recherche au CNRS, le centre national de la recherche scientifique. Elle a participé à un comité chargé d'évaluer la possibilité de mettre des noms de femmes scientifiques sur la Tour Eiffel. La proposition ne surprend plus quand on sait que la Tour Eiffel arbore sur une frise du premier étage avec soixante-douze noms d'hommes scientifiques choisis par Gustave Eiffel. Dans l'épisode d'aujourd'hui, vous allez entendre une partie de cet entretien.  Dnas la lettre qui accompagne cet épisode, il y aura des notes culturelles, bien sûr,  et nous nous arrêterons sur quelques phrases un peu complexes qu'il faut maitriser et qui sont dans le discours de Béatrice Marticorena. Les noms de famille n'ont pas toujours existé. Pendant des siècles, dans la plupart des sociétés, on se contentait d'un seul prénom. Mais quand les populations ont commencé à croître, il est devenu difficile de distinguer tous les “Jean” ou “Pierre” d'un même village. C'est alors qu'ont commencé à apparaître, dès le Moyen Âge, les noms de famille, d'abord en Europe, pour préciser l'identité d'une personne. Et la plupart de ces noms viennent de quatre grandes origines : le métier, le lieu, la filiation et une caractéristique physique ou morale.1. Les noms issus du métierC'est l'une des sources les plus courantes. On désignait les gens par ce qu'ils faisaient : Jean le Boulanger, Pierre le Charpentier, Jacques le Berger. Avec le temps, ces surnoms sont devenus des noms de famille transmis à leurs enfants. En France, on retrouve par exemple Boulanger, Marchand, Charpentier, ou Berger. En anglais, cela a donné Smith (forgeron), Baker (boulanger) ou Taylor (tailleur).2. Les noms liés à un lieuD'autres personnes étaient identifiées par leur origine géographique. On disait Marie de Lyon ou Guillaume du Bois. Ces mentions sont devenues des noms de famille : Delacroix, Dupont, Dubois, Deschamps. En Italie, on trouve Da Vinci (“de Vinci”, le village natal de Léonard). Ces noms reflètent souvent l'endroit où vivait l'ancêtre — un pont, un champ, une rivière — et servent encore aujourd'hui de témoins de l'histoire locale.3. Les noms patronymiquesCertains noms viennent directement du prénom du père. En France, cela a donné Martin, Henry, ou Laurent. Mais dans d'autres langues, on l'exprime plus clairement : en anglais, Johnson signifie “fils de John”, Anderson “fils d'Andrew”. En Russie, Ivanov veut dire “fils d'Ivan”, et en Islande, ce système est encore vivant : le fils d'un homme nommé Olaf s'appellera Olafsson, et sa fille Olafsdóttir.4. Les noms descriptifs ou surnomsEnfin, beaucoup de noms de famille venaient d'un trait physique ou de caractère. Petit, Legrand, Lenoir, Leblanc, Fort, ou Lemoine décrivaient une particularité, parfois flatteuse, parfois moqueuse. En Allemagne, Klein signifie “petit”, et en Espagne, Delgado veut dire “mince”.Peu à peu, ces surnoms se sont transmis d'une génération à l'autre, devenant héréditaires à partir du XIVᵉ siècle environ. Ainsi, les noms de famille sont de véritables fossiles linguistiques : ils racontent l'origine, le métier ou le caractère de nos ancêtres, et forment une mémoire vivante de notre histoire collective.
