Was Jesus incorrect when He was sharing the Parable of the Mustard Seed that is recorded in Matthew 13:31-32? He claims that the mustard seed is the smallest of all the seeds and that it will grow into a tree that is larger than all the plants. But though the seed is indeed quite small, it will only grow to a tree about eight feet tall. Is this an error in the Bible? Or is there a reasonable explanation as to why Jesus said this? We think of range maps as static representations of where plants and animals belong. It doesn't often occur to us that maps are just snapshots of a constantly changing world. In the Mojave Desert, two sister species of desert ground squirrel coexist nearly side by side. A field guide's range maps will tell you where those species live right now. But those maps also convey hints out of Deep Time, and those hints can explain not only why the squirrels live where they do, but also how the two species evolved in their own directions. Host Chris Clarke shares the story of those sister species: the Mohave and Round-tailed ground squirrels. One is doing well and is abundant. The other has been designated as a threatened species. Jesus was not just a wise teacher or a prophet, He was, and is, the Son of God. In today's passage we see Jesus defending this claim. His equality with God is equal in person, works, and even power to raise people from the dead. He can do all things that the Father can do and cannot do what the Father cannot do – sin. God, and therefore Jesus, cannot do anything that would go against their character of being pure and holy. Many critics say that Jesus never claimed to be God, but in today's passage, He does indeed make that claim. Jesus is equal to God and He is the Son of God. We know this to be true by observing the reaction of the Jewish leaders and Jesus' disciples and by studying the meaning of the ancient Eastern language. Located in Jerusalem, the Temple Mount resides on what used to be known as Mount Moriah and over the years it has been a place of many historical events. Throughout history it has changed hands many times and today is a place of great importance to Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Due to all the history that is stored there, laws were put in place that banned any excavating from taking place at the site. But in 1999, an illegal excavation began which involved the careless removal of piles of dirt from under the Temple Mount. To preserve the relics that were found there, The Temple Mount Sifting Project began. Since then, 85 percent of the debris has been sifted through, though much of it remains to be studied. In the last episode, we studied the findings from a variety of tests that were done on the Shroud of Turin to determine its authenticity. Now today, we challenge it against the most important source, the Word of God. If it does not line up with the Bible, then we know it can not be accurate. HORMUZ CRISIS REMAINS TENSE AS IRANIAN TARGETING OF MERCHANT SHIPPING CONTINUES.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Middle East: This morning another vessel was struck by Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz. A total of four drones were reportedly launched during this attack, with the White House claiming that three of the four munitions were intercepted.Analyst Comment: These targeting efforts have resulted in the International Maritime Organization pausing their rescue plan to ensure the orderly evacuation of the Persian Gulf, though as of this afternoon the status of the Strait can only be described as a state of chaos. Some vessels have turned around after being warned by the Iranians, or just based on the news of other ships getting hit. Other vessels have gone "full-send" and sprinted through the Strait, hoping for the best. What has not materialized, has been a measurable surge of traffic into the Gulf. Right now, most ships are trying to get out of the warzone when they can be reasonably sure that it's safe to do so, and though there have been ships moving back-and-forth through the Strait, traffic is still nowhere near pre-war levels.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In Venezuela, rescue and recovery efforts continue throughout the country following the earthquakes which devastated the capital and several other major metropolitan areas. USSOUTHCOM has activated disaster response plans to allocate military resources for recovery efforts and other Central/South American nations are also working on large-scale mobilization of disaster aid. Major earthquakes in the global south tend to be vastly more serious than anywhere else due to poor construction standards, and Venezuela is no exception.On the ground, the hardest hit areas are the coastal region of La Guaira, as well as the capital of Caracas. Nearly every single structure and high-rise building at the tourist resorts along the coast north of Simon Bolivar Airport have either been completely destroyed, or heavily damaged. Hundreds of people remain trapped in the town of Carabelleda, with many large buildings collapsing with little warning for residents. Along the coast to the west, the town of Macuto suffered a similar fate, with many people still being trapped inside collapsed buildings.At this early hour, casualty counts are hard to assess, however the USGS estimates that there is a 74% chance that the casualty figure is at least 10,000 and that there's a 30% chance that the fatalities top 100,000 victims. Right now, it's very obvious that the 10,000-victim figure is the conservative assessment, certainly in terms of total victims (either injured or deceased). The United Nations estimated around 50,000 persons missing as of this afternoon. Officially, the total casualty figure is 971 confirmed fatalities, however this is not only certain to rise over the next few weeks, but new casualties are also extremely likely as well. Nearly all of the high-rise apartment buildings which are still technically standing are exhibiting the telltale signs of major structural compromise, such as X-shaped and stair-shaped cracking in the masonry and concrete walls. These are usually major indicators of severe structural damage, and that the risk of the building collapsing is extremely high. Por el momento, la cifra de fallecidos ya supera el centenar, pero esta no para de aumentar. Según la estimación del Servicio Geológico de Estados Unidos (USGS), podrían haber entre 10.000 y 100.000 muertos. No puedo afirmar en este minuto que vayan a ser miles, pero diría que van a ser centenas "Es un modelo. Y como todo modelo, es una simplificación de la realidad. Eso no quiere decir que el cálculo esté errado, pero hay que entenderlo como una aproximación y no como valores absolutos. No sé la estadística en este minuto, pero yo diría que van a ser centenas. No puedo afirmar en este minuto, ciertamente, que vayan a ser miles, pero hay que entender que lo que hace el USGS es una estimación de acuerdo a la intensidad, los datos históricos y la realidad política, social y cultural de cada país.", concluye Lagos López, que no descarta que estos terremotos liberen tensión en otras regiones, por lo que la amenaza sísmica en Venezuela sería inevitable.

In Joshua 11, it is recorded that Joshua and the Israelites destroyed the city of Hazor, burning it to the ground. And according to the Law of Moses, they would have destroyed and burned all the pagan idols, not leaving one untouched. As we read in Numbers 20, God punishes Moses for the sin he committed by stating that he would not be allowed to enter the Promised Land. Why was God so harsh with Moses? Jon Herold and Zak Paine open Episode 188 with a breakdown of Hunter Biden's social media return, arguing the whole thing is a calculated PR rehabilitation op. He's calling himself the MAGA whisperer, doing right-leaning podcast tours, and claiming there was no Ukraine corruption, while ghosting anyone who posts a documented timeline proving otherwise. Jon makes the case that without his father's power, Hunter has no income, no platform legitimacy, and no actual skills, making every one of his moves a hustle rather than a genuine conversion. Then the show pivots to one of the more genuinely mysterious conspiracies in recent memory: the Brown Mountain Lights. These are unexplained glowing orbs seen in the Linville Gorge area of North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains, documented as far back as Cherokee oral history in the 1200s and in a Charlotte newspaper in 1913. A USGS survey in 1922 blamed train lights and car headlights, which is impressive given there are no train tracks. Badlands cofounder CG Riley joins to share her own firsthand video footage of the lights responding to her voice, changing colors, and moving without her camera moving. Jon also covers the comparable Marfa Lights phenomenon in Texas and the leading scientific theory that quartz and magnetite geology may be generating plasma fields that nobody has managed to define yet.

If the Genesis account is correct, then that means that dinosaurs and man inhabited the earth at the same time. According to archaeologists and many Bible scholars, one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the past 50 years was made on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee at the site called Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene. During a dig, they unearthed a 1st century synagogue and at the center was this massive stone with intricate carvings engraved into it. Some of the carvings on the stone support what the Bible says about there being a temple in Jerusalem at the time of Christ. Could this also be the same synagogue where Jesus visited and taught?
