Almost three weeks out from major surgery, Snooki joins us post-op to give the full inside scoop on having a hysterectomy and the reality behind recovery. Snooki has learned through her “hyster-sister” community that major surgery requires major downtime, what was initially understood as a two-week healing period is actually two months. Bestie breaks down the truth from having her organs rearranged to never having her period again. Meanwhile, Joey gives us a life update from Piki’s second birthday to his new favorite drink of the summer. While Joey has been sipping wine, Snooki is officially completing her first dry month. What better reward is there post-surgery recovery than a dry martini? As ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ is coming to its close, Snooki talks ending speculation and TikTok easter eggs. It’s been 15 years of growing up on the Shore, are we really ready to say goodbye to what started it all? Speaking of TV, Snooki and Joey catch us up on their latest binges from Hulu’s ‘The Shards’ to Emmy Rossum’s new ‘Furious.’ Did we forget to mention that Joey is premiering on Hulu? We’re leveling up! And in the world of celebrity, all of us experienced a great loss in Hayden Panettiere, the woman we all grew up with and who stood up for all women as she herself experienced postpartum depression, trauma, and grief. Furious is a Hulu Original crime drama-thriller series created by Elizabeth Meriwether, who also created New Girl and The Dropout and other things. It is inspired by the 1987 thriller Black Widow, which is also about a female serial killer and the female cop (a DOJ data analyst in 1987 and a new FBI agent here) who’s trying to catch her. Furious stars Emmy Rossum, Lola Petticrew, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, and more. And then: Last weekend was the highest-grossing weekend in the history of the domestic box office. That weekend was led by Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which had the biggest domestic opening ever, and by The Odyssey, which is a three-hour adaptation of Homer that gets closer to $1 billion every day. Down to Watch might be starting a new trend with a summer triple showcase to highlight how to hide from the heat and kick it on the couch as temps outside soar. Dan and Raul talk about Furious first, and you should be! There's a lot of ladies out here fightin' for their lives and Emmy Rossum, FBI edition, wants to save a few but finds herself tailing a serial murderer of abusers. Classic tropes of detective and women in peril genres abound but this show might be turning enough of those cliches on their heads that the end result is a new kind of story altogether. All the way in reality fixer-upper tv, Leslie Jones is putting her attitude and energy into Roast My Rental, a home improvement reality show that fixes people's Airbnb style vacation homes while Jones and friends inject a little playful mockery regarding the rental. Finally we see about the latest Bang Theory spinoff, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, and he does! The new sci-fi adventure comedy follows some Big Bang Theory side characters as they dimension hop from Earth to Earth, finding some strange problem they can solve or run away from by the end of the episode every week. It's a strange kind of experiment which the first episode somehow pulls off, but can these second bananas hold up such a high concept? Maybe this universe's DtW hosts can tell you!

On paper, “Furious” sounds like something we've all seen before. An FBI agent. A serial killer. A cat-and-mouse chase stretched across eight episodes. That's technically what the show is, but it's also not really what the show is. The cat is carrying around a mountain of old trauma. The mouse has a disturbingly decent argument. Neither one is behaving in a way that makes it easy to decide who deserves your sympathy. That is where Liz Meriwether's (“New Girl,” “Dying for Sex”) new Hulu series gets its hooks in. Loosely inspired by the 1987 thriller “Black Widow,” “Furious” follows FBI agent Alice Black (Emmy Rossum) as she hunts Catherine (Lola Petticrew), a serial killer targeting powerful men. Very quickly, though, the pursuit starts to feel less like a standard case and more like two damaged people slowly realizing they may understand each other better than anyone else does. That is not necessarily a good thing for either of them. The series also stars Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Jake Lacy, Rob Delaney, Rob Yang, and Steve Way.

Interview with : Robert Scheffler Songwriter, singer and guitarist Robert Scheffler has been called a “songwriter's writer” and “unquestionably one of the best performers in the New York area” by local reviewers. Previous record releases include Needles (EP), Pretty Town and Life of Luxury (including tracks produced by Jim Rondinelli [Wilco, Matthew Sweet]). His work has appeared on dozens of TV shows and several short film soundtracks. One song, “Rendezvous,” figured prominently (and dubiously) in a movie that The New York Times labeled “an unpalatable mush.” The film wasn't great but it wasn't all that bad–Emmy Rossum was in it. When Scheffler isn't writing songs, he's making furniture. His partner John knew his latest project was all but finished when Scheffler started making trips to the lumberyard. www.robertschefflermusic.com https://www.instagram.com/robertscheffler_music/

"Summer Surprise" rolls along, and this time around our online randomizer has chosen a film from perhaps our most dreaded cinematic genre - a "supernatural romance" YA adaptation! That's right, 2013's Beautiful Creatures was another studio attempt to cash-in on and replicate the success of Twilight, and upon its release it was roundly dismissed as such by both critics and audiences. But could this Southern Gothic tale of love and witchcraft possibly work its magic on us? If nothing else, will we fall under the spell of one of the most impressive ensemble casts we've encountered so far, with Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert, Jeremy Irons, Emma Thompson, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, Margo Martindale, Zoey Deutch, and Lois Lane herself, Rachel Brosnahan? Or will we once again be left "cursing" the fates that caused us to watch yet another YA adaptation?  Our Twitter Our Facebook Our Instagram Our YouTube Trev's Letterboxd Chris' Letterboxd
