Sixteen year old Kalief Browder spent 700 days in solitary confinement over a backpack he didn't steal, and traitor to his country, former FBI agent Charles McGonigal, only got four years in prison for being on the payroll of the Russian mafia. That and Putin's end-of-the-year speech to Russians, promising to destroy and occupy all of Ukraine, are discussed in this week's bonus episode. Joining us for urgent insights into how to navigate this all-to-familiar time of growing fascism is media historian Ray Gamache, a leading biographer of Gareth Jones, the hero of Mr. Jones, the film inspired by Jones' groundbreaking reporting on Stalin. Jones also reported from Hitler's Germany, where he warned that Hitler and his “primitive” mobs of supporters were going to transform not just Germany, but the fate of Europe. Gamache is the author of Gareth Jones: Eyewitness to the Holodomor and Gareth Jones: On Assignment in Nazi Germany 1933-34 To our supporters at the Democracy Defender level and higher, send in your questions for our Q&As. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (12/15/2023): 3:05pm- On Wednesday, MSNBC's Monica Alba reported that the Biden Administration is concerned about the “emotional toll” a Hunter Biden drug relapse—triggered by his ongoing legal troubles—would have on his father, President Joe Biden. Could this be the excuse the White House provides for a potential pardon of Hunter? The president's son has been charged with several tax evasion felonies, as well as federal firearm charges. 3:15pm- According to new polling data from Morning Consult, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump now leads President Joe Biden in all seven swing states—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup in the 2024 presidential election. You can read more here: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/trump-now-leads-biden-in-all-seven-swing-states-poll/ 3:20pm- While appearing on MSNBC with Jen Psaki, Miles Taylor—a self-described member of “the resistance” within the Trump Administration following the 2016 election—claimed that if former President Donald Trump won re-election, he could punish Americans by shutting off the internet! Does anyone actually believe this nonsense? 3:30pm- Mark O'Connor—Executive Director of Family's Behind the Badge Children's Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the 4th Annual Andy Chan Holiday Block Party tonight, December 15th. For more information about this incredible event, as well as donation information, visit: https://www.fbbcf.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&eventID=624 3:40pm- Appearing on CNN with Wolf Blitzer, political strategist James Carville said that he doesn't believe we are “destined” to have a Trump vs Biden, head-to-head election—suggesting that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jill Stein, and a No Labels candidate will all be on the ballot as well. 3:50pm- On Thursday, California Governor Gavin Newsom appeared as a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers where he claimed to be addressing San Francisco's homeless crisis. 4:05pm- Ari Blaff of National Review writes: “A former FBI counterintelligence chief who played a pivotal role in launching the Trump-Russia probe was sentenced to just over four years in prison for assisting a sanctioned Russian oligarch after leaving his post in 2019. In August, Charles McGonigal, a 22-year veteran of the bureau's field office in New York, was found guilty of a count of conspiracy for working with Oleg Deripaska, a Russian billionaire with close ties to President Vladimir Putin. During his stint with the bureau, McGonigal received classified information that Deripaska would be designated a Russian oligarch with close ties to the Kremlin, the indictment alleged. McGonigal was legally obligated to inform the FBI of his relationship with foreign officials, which he violated by continuing communication and establishing business ties with Deripaska.” You can read Blaff's full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/fbi-official-who-helped-launch-trump-russia-probe-sentenced-to-four-years-in-prison-for-work-with-russian-oligarch/ 4:15pm- David Zimmerman of National Review writes: “The House on Thursday passed the National Defense Authorization Act, an annual defense bill that will this year include an extension of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act's Section 702, the controversial law that permits warrantless surveillance of foreign nationals. The House voted 310-118 in favor of the bill just before congressmen left for Christmas recess. The annual national-defense bill was passed by the Senate Wednesday, and is now headed to President Joe Biden's desk to be signed into law. The final version of the NDAA authorizes $886 billion in national-defense spending, an increase of $28 billion over fiscal year 2023.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/house-passes-annual-defense-bill-extends-section-702-surveillance-authority/ 4:30pm- Dr. Victoria Coates— Former Deputy National Security Advisor & the Vice President of the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to recap her time at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai. The January 8, 1976, capital protests in Beijing, and the communist responses, are eerily similar to the way officials reacted to the January 6, 2021, protests. The double standard of reporting and prosecution was made even more glaring over the last month as left-wing protesters stormed the capital on numerous occasion over Palestine. The hypocrisy was even more clear when D-NY Jamaal Bowman pulled a fire alarm, on video, to prevent a vote on government spending. More video footage recently proved the vice chair of the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee was stuffing ballot drop boxes with votes for the incumbent D-mayor, against another D-mayoral candidate. A judge has thus overturned that primary election. This is par for the Democrat course: Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren stepped down over campaign fraud, New York State Lieutenant Governor Brian Benjamin was charged with bribery and other offenses, the money launderer Sam Bankman-Fried was the second largest contributor to the D-party, and top D-contributor Ed Buck was running a drugging and molestation operation against black people. Now the Supreme Court is hearing a case on New York threatening, discouraging, and reputation damaging the NRA, by trying to get companies to cut ties or debunk them. The corruption just keeps pouring out: ex-FBI counterintelligence chief, Charles McGonigal, partly behind the 2016 Russian collusion story, was actually colluding with Russia just like Hillary Clinton. The Oversight for the Committee on House Administration found that the J6 committee failed to keep documents, data, and video depositions, of their investigation, along with communications with the current White House, and that they outright ignored evidence, including Capitol Hill security failures. The same White House also sent letters to news execs urging them to ‘ramp up' scrutiny of GOP's Biden impeachment inquiry, and instructed social media on how to censor Hunter Biden stories. The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability also released bank records showing that Joe Biden and his son Hunter, along with business associates, received millions in payouts from Russians, Ukrainians, and Kazakhstani oligarchs as political bribes. There is now physical evidence that Joe Biden received $40,000 from his brother in laundered money from China. Meanwhile, the FBI has had 40 sources inside the Biden family for years, collecting blackmail. The National Archives has likewise announced their finding of 82,000 Biden-pseudonym emails. Dark Brandon's adventures just keep escalating in this part 2 episode. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5328407/advertisement
Show Notes and Transcript Col (Ret) John Mills returns to Hearts of Oak to discuss his latest book 'War Against The Deep State', a follow up to 'The Nation Will Follow'. John's background of decades in the US military gives him an unparalleled understanding of the role of The Deep State through the institutions. In this book he starts in the same way as he started his last, with family, with mums (Moms for our American viewers!) and how they will win this war. John then shows the importance of getting involved at a local level and then we look at Big Tech and how Private Public Partnerships are being used to push a big state agenda. Stay tuned until the end as John delivers us a message of hope and tells us why this battle we find ourselves in, is a fight that can and must be won. COL (Ret) John R. Mills and Former Director, Cybersecurity Policy, Strategy, and International Affairs, Office of the Secretary of Defense COL (Ret) Mills has had an immense impact on a number of significant national security events over the last 40 years, from the Cold War, Peace Dividend, War on Terror, World in Chaos, and the era of Great Power Competition and the showdown with China. He has served multiple combat tours. This service has been both in uniform and as a senior civilian for the Department of Defense and included service with the National Security Council at the White House across two Administrations. He has served in joint, conventional, and special operations units and as a senior staff planner on the Chairman's Joint Staff John is a part of the Center for Security Policy, Committee on Present Danger China, Spectrum consulting group, an adjunct Professor for a major University's Graduate Program, founder of the National Election Integrity Association, and a regular Op-Ed contributor for Newsmax, Epoch Times, Real America's Voice, and Daily Middle East. "War Against The Deep State" outlines the development of the mass surveillance program started in 2007 to protect Americans, the weaponization of mass surveillance against the American Citizen, and the rise of the unlawful 4th, 5th, and 6th branches of Government. These unlawful branches of Government are the Administrative State, the collusion and marriage of Law Enforcement, Intelligence, and Big Tech, and the Non-Profits that unduly steer and influence Government. In "The Nation Will Follow", John is a modern day Whitaker Chambers (who successfully exposed Communists in the State Department in the late 1940s and 1950s) and gives his account of finding himself in the middle of Spygate/Russiagate, realizing there is a Deep State, his four year path to getting in front of the Durham investigation, and gives the action plan for citizens to re-take their counties. American governance and elections are all based on the 3,300 counties and county equivalents. Available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/author/B0B999YZPK Connect with Colonel John.... It is wonderful to have you back with us. Thanks so much for your time today. (Col John Mills) Oh, Peter, thank you. An honour to be on your show again with you. Thank you so much. Great to have you. And of course, you're one of the regular War Room Posse, and it's to all the War Room Posse watching on Rumble and GETTR, great to have you with us. And today we have one of your own, one of the regular ones with Steve. And I think last time, John, we were looking at your other book, your first book. Let me bring that up on the screen. And the first one was The Nation Will Follow, and that is that first-hand experiences fighting the deep state and the action plan for the American citizen. And today we're going to look at your latest book, which is just out and it is War Against the Deep State. I will get into, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading through it. I will pull out a number of the different chapter points in it. But maybe, John, the first question, often individuals write book and then they move on to something often quite different. You've stayed on a similar thread. Do you want to just let the viewers know why this is something kind of you feel fixed on and why it's so important to produce a second book on a similar topic? Well, thank you, Peter. I always intended this to be a two-book series. The first book, in many ways, was about what I gave to the Durham investigation and my different statements and submissions to the Durham investigation and my personal war against, or my personal combat and experience fighting the deep state while I was inside of government. We do have a very important arrest out of the Durham investigation. It hadn't gotten a lot of attention and it was technically it was separated out from the Durham investigation, but I think that was pure Department of Justice front office, quibbling with Merrick Garland and John Durham who says, okay, John, we'll give you this, But you have to separate it out from the core Durham investigation. But it's Charles McGonigal, Charles McGonigal, the former director of counterintelligence to the New York field office. This is just like some of the famous British spy cases where it was found to be trusted people who were actually working for the Russians. It turns out McGonigal was the guy feeding us information in early 2016 about Trump, Trump, Trump, Russia, Russia, Russia, or actually it was Russia, Russia, Russia, Trump, Trump, Trump. And it was like, oh, okay, I'm a sworn professional. Okay. If it was, if Trump was in on this, I mean, I want to know. And that led to the, to the total fraudulent Intel community assessment of November, December, 2016. So that's, what, you know, a lot of what book one was about. And it was about, you know, the action plan right in your county. Book two is far more detail into how we've really arrived at the unlawful fourth, fifth, and sixth branches of government in America. And this is really the deep state manifesting itself. And in the American system, the unlawful for those who've been, their brains have been mushed by Howard's in history books in the American public school system. It's the fourth branch of government is the administrative state. The fifth branch of government is the coming together of federal law enforcement, federal intelligence and big tech to unlawfully surveil. And then the sixth branch of government are in the American tax code and system than what we call the non-profits, the 501C3s. So that's really the deep state manifesting itself and the order of hierarchy from the top to the lower levels is always, at this point in time in the year 2023, it's China, globalists manifested by Klaus. We must have a reset. We must establish an enduring reset. So Klaus and the Globalists. And then we always have to throw in Russia, Iran, Venezuela, and North Korea, and in America it's our uniparty that is enabling these unlawful fourth, fifth, and sixth branches of government. So that's why there was a two-book series. And then also more detail and success cases, success stories of the foundation of the American system is at the county and county equivalent level. So that's where most Americans should spend all of their time and energy, and if they want to have great effect at the national level is crash the market capitalization of these woke companies, such as Disney, okay? So there's a lot of victories and success stories here, and in America there's too many people on our side of the ledger disappointed, disillusioned, oh, nothing we can do, they'll It's worthless. It's over. You know, I'm a Churchill guy, and Churchill was both an American and a sovereign UK citizen, okay? I'm never, ever, ever give up, never, ever, ever surrender, ever. And so we will win if we put our shoulder to the wheel here. So in war against the deep state, I go over this. And I was part of the interagency team that put together the mass surveillance system in 2007 and 2014, which had a very strong enabling factor with the linkage with the Five Eyes, the five English-speaking nations, because our five intelligence services work, extremely closer, there's no closer relationship in the world. And then we have Five Eyes Plus, I'm not going to name any countries, but there's a number of other countries in the Five Eyes Plus category. So that's the transition from Book One, and the nation will fall into Book Two, War Against the Deep State. Okay, there are a lot of things we want to pick up and we'll get towards those fourth, fifth and sixth sections of the government, the administrative state, the surveillance state and the C3s, that charitable sectors as we call it in the UK and all those areas by themselves are fascinating, all those areas could be a book in themselves, no pressure on you, John, but you start chapter one, you start in a similar way to the first book, a paragraph from it. If you have read book one, the nation will follow, and if you haven't, I strongly advise that you do, then you will know that I started the book with a similar message, Moms will win this war. Tell me why you start with that same message about the importance of moms in this fight. Two reasons. I think there is a distinct identifiable, the women have been at the forefront of this fight in America and I think in many places. Women are often the first to respond to the message of Christ, they're the first to respond to many messages and actions and I think it is quite noteworthy and laudable of the role because many women in addition to being mothers have said I am NOT going put up with this insanity that I'm dealing with in my county school board. And they're the first ones to show up. So one, a bravo and more encouragement. That's great. That's wonderful. It's beautiful. But it's also a message to the men to get off the couch and get on, get in the game. Yeah, there's a lot of the men I've noticed have this attitude, well, especially in a traditional family which is a good and noble thing. It's a foundation for any society. If you don't have family, if you don't have borders, you don't have a civilization. If you don't have families, you don't have a civilization. And we're all addressing dealing with this collapse in birth rates. Having children is a God-ordained thing. Come on people, stop. Well, I'm too busy with my professional life. Oh, you know, I can't afford another child. I mean, give me a break. Come on, Let's get out there, have families, have children, but the role of women, and also a message to the men, put down the bowl of loudmouth soup, stop bellowing on social media, stop going, I might lose my job, and get into the game and provide backup and reinforcement for these incredible women. And I love what many of the women organisations are doing. We've had Moms for Liberty on, Tina a number of times and that's just one of many, I think, organisations across the state that have taken the fight back to the system and are standing up for their rights as parents and also the rights for their children. So it's exciting to see that happening right before our eyes. Another part of the ballot, chapter two, understanding your county. And this is. There are a number of chapters through the books that make me sit back and think, actually, yeah, you're right. I didn't necessarily see that as part of the fight, but it is. Tell us about the county, because I think most people automatically think the swamp, DC, central government, that's the enemy, that's the bad one. But you go down to the county level and tell us the importance of being involved there. Why is it so important? Well, in the American system, and you know, after 35 plus years of working at the federal level and facing outward to battle the external threat, I didn't even realize it. And in the American system, the county and the county equivalent are the foundation of the Constitutional Republic. If you're county or county equivalent, the Census Bureau rosters 3300 county-county equivalents across America and in different states they could be called different things like in Louisiana they're parishes, in Alaska, forgive me, I think it's districts, so there's different possible names but predominantly they're called counties, county equivalents, that's the foundation for a constitutional republic. That's the foundation for our voting system. If you have a dirty vote in a county, it's not, as we learned on January 6, 2020, it's not going to get cleaner or better as it goes up toward Congress. The state is unlikely to fix it. The federal system is unlikely to fix it. They say, well, hey, this is your vote. I'm just going by what your vote said. And I think we learned a hard lesson and we forgot the importance of right where we live. Right where I live and I spend most of my energy fighting, fighting the deep state right in my county. We used to be a deep red county. We're now a bluish, bluish purplish county. And I think a lot of it is fraudulent activity, but most of the activists, conservative activists in our county just kind of said, hey, we're in Red County, what do we got to worry about? We just, we got it under control. And it was stolen right out, right from behind our back as we were thinking, hey, we're in, we got this county. No, no. So in the American system, the county is, that's where it starts, that's the foundation. Deep state at the federal level would not exist if we had clean counties. And in the American system, the 2024 vote is the big three are Maricopa in Arizona, Fulton in Georgia, and the worst of the worst, Philadelphia and Pennsylvania. One of the subsections is establishing information dominance. I mean, tell us about that, because that's where you're sure-footed, that's where confidence comes from, that's where boldness comes from when you understand the position you're in, the fight in your area. Tell us more, and it doesn't just apply to a country level, it applies in every area that information is key. It's being able to articulate a mastery of the legal landscape, of the personality landscape. Now having worked years and in the special operations community and counterterrorism and I'm very careful about using this term because people start freaking out and taking all kinds of misinterpretations but when when I coach and mentor others I always say you need to create a target book, a target book for your county and that's where you you know exactly who is in what position what exactly are their position, policy positions on different topics and you know how and when these personalities and those seven groups, when they meet, when they have public comment periods and you can show up and say something intelligent, thoughtful and actionable. Action, action, action at all times. So and this is the challenge. A lot of people are upset and I say well how many show up to these meetings, few people, and I say, okay, of those who show up, how many say something? Even fewer people of what's left. And then I go, okay, and what did you say, or write? And then we start to go through it, and I think sometimes people need to work a little bit on their vocabulary and presentation, because sometimes it may be counterproductive. I say, oh, you wrote a letter to the county board. Can I see that letter? And I go, whoa, that's interesting. I wouldn't have written it. I wouldn't have written it that manner. In fact, if I was a public official receiving this letter, I would interpret this as a physical threat, okay? So we need to be more thoughtful in how we come across. And people say, well, you're just becoming part of the uniparty. No, no, no, this is part of civil society and we need to get tough, we need to get smart and we need to get like, dominate the information environment. We need to know the state laws on elections, okay? We need to know the state codes on these different topics. We need to know exactly the governance venue in which these laws are actually applied. We need to know what the school board, who is saying what. You need to prepare and dominate this environment. And that way when you stand up and you say something, if you have a clean county, the officials are going to pay attention because they're going to go, oh, geez, I actually haven't even read that law in 20 years. I'd better go back and read that law. And if you have a dirty county, people are going to get very nervous. You're a hundred percent. Chapter three is another one that kind of is under the radar, I think, and that's public-private partnerships. What could possibly go wrong? And you start with a quote, the most dangerous man in any government is the man who's able to think things out for himself without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos, almost inevitably comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, and intolerable, I love it. And so if he is romantic, he tries to change it. But tell us about that private partnership because these are connections, these are relationships that maybe many of the public will have no idea are in place and are happening and are shaping our lives. Well, yeah, when I first came into the office of Secretary of Defense in 2004, I think it was. Everybody was using this term public-private partnerships. We got to create a public-private partnership on, Information sharing which also led to that, mass surveillance program starting in 2007 now in the American system, I mean the elites love to use that expression and so I would I set up some of the original be even before 2007 some of the original public-private, CONFABs, CONFAB, at least in my Webster's, is a small intimate gathering where you can talk, talk in detail. Well, we would have these public-private gatherings. There is no legal definition of a public-private gathering in the American system. One of the things I realized after a while, there is no legal definition. So you can do whatever you want to do. Now, we do have laws such as the FACA, FACA. Federal Advisory and I think FACA, Federal Advisory and Consulting Act, which does lay some boundaries on how and when groups, individuals can participate in helping to formulate federal policy, which is not law, it's policy, but this led to the Enduring security framework, it led to, which was our way to, and we established it lawfully, but we essentially did end around the FACA Act because we cited exceptions, and we very artfully did that. At the time, it sounded like a good idea, but this led to us establishing a relationship with Silicon Valley. And this started at the end of the Bush years, 2006, 2007, 2008, hey, they have a lot of great technologies, we're involved in this war on terror, we need a surveillance system that is broad, that's pervasive, that's enduring, and frankly we can't do this without a public-private partnership with all these evolving big tech companies, which led to the program we set up in 2007 and 2014, which was the foundation for the modern pervasive surveillance state. A blurring together of federal law enforcement, federal intelligence, and big tech, and the Five Eyes component with our UK, Canadian, Australian, and then the two people in New Zealand that we work with, that was a joke, was very important. So that and you go on to the government returns Silicon Valley next chapter which which widens that whole conversation on big tech. I know big tech was part of the focus of the first book. But tell us because we've had exposés on big tech collusion with the government and it seems, nothing much happens and in this chapter you delve into I think you call it what the four corners of innovation and you delve into different areas. I mean, tell us more about that and why has nothing really happened in that area? Oh, contraire, my good Peter. Many good things have happened. I mean, we got McGonigal, but we also got, it's a huge case that's developing huge energy and that's the beauty of states and the relationship of states and federal government. It's the Missouri-Louisiana case against DHS-CISA, Jen Easterly, who used to work at NSA, and used to be one of my colleagues. Great energy. And I'm actually becoming a party to this case, but the Fifth Circuit just shwacked down. That's a legal technical term. So they just shwacked down Missouri and Louisiana, I mean, DHS-CISA and FBI says, if you want to for national security reasons, talk to big tech. That's one thing. But in no way, shape or form can you share names, I'm one of them, of Americans to be targeted, silenced and censored. That is absolutely, egregiously unlawful and there was just, and this dysfunctional public-private partnership of NewsGuard. NewsGuard, which had the same personalities that I've named in book one and book two. General Mike Hayden is on the board of NewsGuard. It's a non-profit, it's a fraud, and it gets government money and it also again is absolutely unlawful because they're just like the FBI, just like DHS-CISA, they're giving names of Americans to be targeted, silenced, and censored on social media. So this is huge victories are amassing in this area. This is gaining unstoppable momentum and so they've been told, you know, DHS-CISA and and the FBI said, absolutely, if you want to meet with them. For national security reasons, that's one thing, but you, in no way, shape, or form can this be a venue or obfuscate the unlawful, say, I want you, here's a list of names of people to target silence and censor, and that goes both ways. That goes neither, and industry can't give that to the government. So this is huge. It's just huge what's going on, and I, we've uncovered a list that actually had my name on it and it's like hmm what did I do that was so egregious, why was I one of the names listed so this is this is the out-of-control nature and of these of these deep staters who just you know, law is just for the little people. We're going to do whatever we want to do. And you know, Jen Easterly is up there arguing through her lawyers in the Fifth Circuit. No, it's very important that DHS modulate and regulate public discourse. Really? Where does it say that? I mean, in the UK might be a different story. But I'm sorry, the American system. Absolutely not. There is absolutely no this is DHS is monitoring election infrastructure. I'm going, where's the law on this? There actually is no statute that says DHS CISA, it's your job to federalize and operate and provide mass surveillance of the election system. There's no law that says that. There's no law that says they can give names to big tech. So that's what's going on here. And that's for these chapters. Is that a step change? Because you've got a lot of experience with the military and intelligence and the agencies and understanding that, I mean traditionally probably most of the public thought that those agencies were focused on hostile threats abroad, bad countries, bad actors outside the US, but it seems as though there's been a whole flip over of the focus now being on those internally and law abiding citizens now been followed. Is that a change or has that really always been happening? I think maybe in the past some of this has happened. In a later chapter in the book I talk about the Church Commission that Senator Frank Church who led a very noteworthy event in, 1974-75 to really review the misbehavior in the intelligence community. We need a modern commission, but it needs to go far broader and deeper. And we need to literally start over with some of these agencies. I'm all for, we have to have an aggressive law enforcement, a federal law enforcement, and intelligence. But there must be absolute transparency and accountability. And it's to protect the American people. But in no way can it be weaponized. And yes, somehow, somebody missed the memo on this. And it just started and it grew and it grew. But General Mike Hayden, who I used to think highly of, was a poster child. His most recent, one of his X-Twitters, tweets, what do we call it, an X-tweet, an X-X, I don't know what we call it. But he, you know, made some very unthoughtful comments about Senator Tuberville of Alabama. And it's like, you know, essentially I would have taken it as a physical threat, and Senator Tuberville, very rightly so, turned him in to Capitol Hill Police as this former official is making a violent threat. And I think he was. And he needs to be, again, a technical term, he needs to be schwacked for that. And it's just very unthoughtful. But it's just, you have Dr. Malone coming on in the near future. It's that mass psychosis has taken over and formerly reasonable people have just gone bat guano crazy. Another technical term, is where, they just they went berserk on this and we, it's we must modulate what Americans are saying in social media. Really? What is that? It's that mass psychosis inside of the deep staters are career civilians, are political civilians, our uniformed military, all the contractors. Yeah, the government always know best, come on John, you should know that by now. Chapter six goes, the title is An Angry County Registrar, an incremental win in taking back our counties. And you start by saying, as I have already mentioned, I never ask anyone to do something that I would not be willing to do myself. I want to take this opportunity to highlight some successes that I've had myself. And you touch on, talk to your attorney general, you talk about finding the sheriff, get an office call with a judge. Maybe you can just touch on that because those are ways that practically people can get involved. Because I think often people think it's too big. And I think one of the beauties of your book is that you break it down into manageable chunks so people can say, I can do that. So maybe touch on some of those local engagements. Yeah, thank you, Peter. Yeah, I mean, if you're gonna eat an elephant, I don't know if this is an appropriate term in 2023. I haven't run this by the censors yet, but if you're gonna eat an elephant, you gotta start a bite at a time here. And you gotta really start, again, information dominance and mastery, understand who does what in your county. And this is where in 2019, I started tangling with our former registrar. In our county, a registrar runs an election. In Arizona, they're called recorders. Again, in other states, they may be called different things, but essentially the same, very similar roles and functions. And so I started tangling with Michelle White and it just, man, she just sent me some. And this was, I didn't, because this had not resolved by the time we published book one. So I wanted to give kind of a journey here. It's still on, the battle's still ongoing. But long story short, in early 22, I was asked to give a presentation to our, Jason Miyares staff, our Attorney General in Virginia, who came in with Governor Youngkin in a kind of a red wave. And so he said, so what's going on in Prince William County? So I said, okay, here's what I think. Well, I presented my documented series of tanglings with Michelle White. I was able to force her out. I wasn't the only one probably, there was other things going on, but I was the one who really duked it out with her, it out with her, and she resigned shortly after the 2020 November election. And you know, the only person who got really angry, the only group that really got angry was the county Republican Party, who sent me just a vicious, nasty letter on it. That's another story. But she resigned. But then in early 22, the Miyares team said, OK, what's going on? I gave him that. That's it's in the American system. It just can't be one person's word. You have to have multiple parties who make statements and they're cooperated. But after that led to other people, that led to more conversations, a grand jury panel was, a grand jury was impaneled. That's a high bar to get to that. And then they ran it and the grand jury returned several felony indictments against Michelle White. So my former registrar, so she's going through the legal process right now, for election fraud in 2020. So and all the people, there's no election fraud in 2020. Well, yeah, actually my registrar has been charged with election fraud. So I'm tangling with my current registrar, who just a few months ago, the Republican election board could have easily, no questions asked, replaced the new registrar, who I have grave concerns with also, and they choked and their inner Mitt Romney came to the forefront and they renewed the contract of this registrar. And so next board meeting, I said, I went through it, said, members of the board, in short, I said they've demonstrated their absolute fecklessness and I insisted that they all three resign. The two Republicans and one Democrat need to resign. We need to start fresh with the election board. They failed in their basic duties to ensure, because they hire and fire the registrar. So I'm battling, since they failed and choked, they could have easily brought in a new registrar, said, okay, fine. I want their, in that case, I want the election board's resignation and I'm working to hammer that through. I want to move on to chapter 7 and it's in the foreword by Ed Martin which was short and right to the point and he pulls the three of the six, the last three branches of government that go under the radar and that is the administrative state which we've touched on a little bit, unlawful mass surveillance as the fifth branch and I know you certainly focused on that in in the first book. But it's also the third part of it or the sixth branch which is the non-profits, composed of IRS recognized c3 non-profits. This has been an extremely intelligent way that the battle has moved on using entities that seem to be very good or therefore good to do positive and to take them and to use them. Maybe you want to touch on either of the other two, but it was certainly the non-profit side that intrigued me because once again this goes under the radar I think and now and then we have flashes in even in the mainstream media of how some of these organizations are used and they then we're told that's a one-off, but it seems to be a trend. Yeah, I'm all for IRS 501c3s, these non-profits in the American system. Two basic elements, they're always supposed to be non-partisan and apolitical, which are two different things, but they're not supposed to get involved. So in the American system, the poster child for bad behavior here is what we call the the University of Pennsylvania Biden Center. So after he left office in 2016, or January 2017, he created this adjunct appendage, of the big University of Pennsylvania, which is a tens of billions of dollars nonprofit itself. Most universities in America are non-profits. And so we got this UPenn Biden Center, But we don't know what it is, and this is where Tony Blinken, now Secretary of State, who led this UPenn Biden Center, he ran the greatest election interference operation in history for 2020 with the 51 intel officer letter, 11 of which I had worked for or worked with. And so it shows you right there, the UPenn Biden Center, which we can't find the IRS Form 990. It's actually not in the, I've searched the IRS database multiple times. And I've talked to the lawyers at University of Pennsylvania. And supposedly it's buried somewhere. You can have a nonprofit within a nonprofit. That's legally okay. But the universities are just gargantuan nonprofits, tens of billions of dollars of wealth, ten of billions of dollars of annual revenue and yet they they're just again that whole theme of transparency and accountability. Who at the IRS is checking to, you know, the UPenn Biden Center, which again, we can't find this, 990. Blinken ran this election interference operation. You can't do that. You can't do that. And it was the greatest election interference operation in history. And everybody goes, oh, well, let's just move on. Come on. Don't ask any questions. There was no there was no matters with election fraud. So this is the poster child for bad behaviour among the nonprofits. Moving on, and I'm keen to give a flavour because you pull in so much in the book, which actually is a short read as well. Chapter eight, FBI gone wild. And I thought, well, that could go anywhere. but two areas you pull up on, the Whitmer scam and also the FBI riot on J6. Maybe you wanna touch on those as examples of how the FBI have gone wild or gone rogue. Yeah, this is where transparency and accountability must be demanded. And so in the Michigan case, there was this group that was portrayed as right wing. However, when you peel back the onion and actually look at the forensics, they were left wing and they were like the Wolverines or something like that. And, but, you know, it's, they're white males. So, well, obviously it's right wing if they're right white males. No, no, actually they actually, part of their gig and thing was providing security for BLM and Antifa events. So these people were clearly, but the big media soundbite was, you know, must be right wing. Well, there was this kidnapping hoax that was, that was supposedly there was this kidnapping threat against Governor Whitmer, the current governor in Michigan, who's just a absolutely bat guano crazy psycho. But, so here, there was 20-something informants, or excuse me, 20-something in this group thinking about kidnapping Whitmer. However, more than 50%, it was something like 13 of the 21 or 20, 13 were either FBI agents or FBI informants. Now I have a little bit of experience in these kind of activities and when over 50% of the group is penetrated by your own informants. It's no longer, I mean you're creating, you're creating the group. I don't buy this that, so and there has been multiple charges, a number of them have been dismissed, there have been some convictions but even then I would say hold on a second, the FBI created this group because normally you have, depending on the size, scope and scale, you know you always want to get at least two and usually those informants don't know about each other. You want to keep them separate and distinct, but you have at least two. But not 50% plus of the group is actually made up of government informants and agents. That's, you're creating the group. So that's one example. And then January 6th, and this is where we have the greatest mass incarceration in American history. Never since the Japanese Americans were interned during the Second World War have we seen something like this. We still, we don't know truth on exactly how many J6s are detained. There is no running publicly formulated and public facing list from Department of Justice, of how many J6s are interned. And we can't have truth on J6 until we have an absolute revelation of everything the FBI did in federal law enforcement and coordinated with state and local law enforcement, because January 6th, until there is full accountability, what I term it as a FBI riot. Hmm. Yeah, we've had Jake Lang on twice and a number of others who have been regularly targeted, for simply going there and filming what was happening. Chapter 10, the name of the game is Regime Change. Who's in? And you start by saying I want to begin this chapter with an example of regime change, of which I have personal experience over with Saddam Hussein. So you've been involved in that process abroad. I mean, tell us about that and kind of what you've learned from some of those experiences. Well, again, we need a proactive, aggressive law enforcement and intelligence that protects America. And I always point on the CIA website, I urge everybody to read the Doolittle report. This is the same Army Air Corps Lieutenant Colonel who flew Army bombers off of Navy carriers to bomb Tokyo. Eisenhower brought him in and said, what do I do with this new thing called the CIA? And it was just, I mean, you just want to stand up at the position of attention and salute the flag when you read this report. Cause I said, that is what we need. That is weak, cause he said, Doolittle said, we have never had to deal with something like the Soviet threat before and we need to take off the gloves and fight dirty. We still have boundaries and we still have responsibility and transparency and accountability but we need to take off the gloves and if we put them in a chokehold and gouge their eyes out while pouring gasoline on them and setting them on fire, that's what we need to do. That's what we need to do. This is a life or death struggle with the Soviets. His chapter was about, I'm all for this, but the whole Saddam thing kind of went out of control and I think it was kind of the early stages of a wokeness and Saddam was a bad person. He needed to be changed out. There were, was evidence of weapons of mass destruction. I point to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence 2006 report that documented thousands of pieces, elements of WMD and then said, in the body, but then in the executive summary, no evidence of WMD. And we're going, well, you just listed literally thousands in the document. So, but we could have done it better and smarter. Saddam was a bad guy, a ruthless killer, needed to go. I think we could have done it a lot better, but I wanted to show that of how things in the forever war complex kind of just really manifested itself. We could have done it a lot better with a lot more, a lot less resources bloodshed, but it just spun out of control. Yeah, we got rid of him. And then a bunch of Shia pulled, yanked them out of his, after a couple of years, yanked them out of his cell and hung them. And then they told us about it. You know, so it just was my personal involvement in regime change. Every Iraqi I worked with was killed. I mean, it's a bloody, messy business. And so we shouldn't take these things lightly. There's conditions where we need to do stuff like this, but it can be very bloody and messy. To finish off, the last two chapters, the four corners of innovation, re-establishing America, innovation and production dominance, and then the final chapter, defeating the deep state. Obviously, you don't enter a war, you don't enter a battle unless you believe that you can win that or else you're fighting just for the sake of it. And looking at the end of the book, it's a message of, this is possible. I mean, tell us about that. I think it's a good place to leave the viewers because often these issues can be so big. I mean, whenever the topic of deep state comes up, it's huge and you've broken it down into smaller chunks, but you end on a positive note. Tell us more about that and why you believe that's possible. I give a vision of what an America-first society looks like and the pathway to returning to functional governance, functional society in the American system that is based on a constitutional republic. Four corners of innovation, which are good, but they've been perverted by the elite. Big academia is good, big companies can be good, innovators can be good, academics are important, big finance, or excuse me, venture capital can be good. Those are good, but they've been perverted and we need to, that's for creating an innovative society that makes things, and more importantly, makes things that makes things. The concept of managed decline, which most in the UK understand the concept and the heritage of where that came from, yeah, I'm going to throw that right in the trash bin. I want nothing to do with managed decline. I want growth. I want ascendancy at all times, and that's the problem with the elite. They kind of achieve this climax, and they go, there's really nothing we can do beyond this. We might as well just stop having children and just kind of lead from behind. No, forget that, never, never, ever, ever. And so I wanna give a picture of what a productive constitutionally-based system looks like. That is focused on ascendancy, an ascendancy for good, not ascendancy for dominating, an ascendancy for the good of the society. And all societies should be focused on this. All nations and the world works best when there's functional nation-states putting the interests of their citizens first and working out these matters in a functional way with other countries and that's the vision of the future and yes we can do this. John, it's always wonderful talking to you. Let me bring up once again. That is the book War Against the Deep State is available now just out weeks ago. Do get hold of your copy. I find it fascinating to read, as I did the first one, and I think it makes simple a topic which often can be complex and shows the part we can play. So John, I appreciate you coming on and sharing. Thank you so much. Peter, thank you. I just always enjoy these. Looking forward the next one. It's an honour to be on your show. Thank you so much. I hope the next one we can actually do it on an aircraft carrier. I'll work on that. I'll work on that. Thank you so much, John. Okay, thank you, Peter. Take care. Please subscribe, like and share!

Show notes and Transcript Col. (Ret) John R. Mills is former Director of Cybersecurity Policy and International Affairs at the Department of Defense. You will have seen his many appearances on War Room with Steve Bannon where he brings his in-depth understanding of national security to the War Room posse. John is also part of the Center for Security Policy, Committee on Present Danger China. A year ago he published "The Nation Will Follow: First hand Experiences Fighting the Deep State and the Action Plan for the American Citizen". We start by discussing how John first became aware of the existence of the Deep State through a brief encounter with a colleague in one of the many corridors of the Pentagon. He unpacks what exactly the Deep State is, how it is anti God and why it will stop at nothing to take down President Donald J Trump and we finish by looking at John's next book which will be published within months which goes deeper into the war against the Deep State. COL (Ret) John R. Mills is the former director of cybersecurity policy, strategy, and international affairs at the Department of Defense. COL (Ret) Mills has had an immense impact on a number of significant national security events over the last 40 years, from the Cold War, Peace Dividend, War on Terror, World in Chaos, and the era of Great Power Competition. He has served multiple combat tours, this service has been both in uniform and as a senior civilian for the Department of Defense and included service with the National Security Council at the White House across two Administrations. He has served in joint, conventional, and special operations units and as a senior staff planner on the Chairman's Joint Staff. John is a part of the Center for Security Policy, Committee on Present Danger China, Spectrum consulting group, an adjunct Professor for a major University's Graduate Program, founder of the National Election Integrity Association, and a regular Op-Ed writer for the Epoch Times, NewsMax, and Daily Middle East. There is a Deep State – and this is the citizen plan of action for what they can do in their immediate neighborhood, the ground upon which they live. That plan involves activating and equipping all citizens with the knowledge of how to represent themselves locally to make a national difference. In a raw, personal and bold account, Colonel Retired John Mills will show us how he, like Whitaker Chambers, played a part in both allowing the Deep State to get a foothold in the federal government and then taking action against it. What is needed is decisive action, directed at the right, precise topics, at the levels of government we know best. The Nation Will Follow is your guide and plan to take that action and take on the Deep State. (Col Ret John Mills) Peter, an absolute honour to be on your show. Thank you. Absolutely great to have you. And people can see where they can find you, @ColonelRetJohn, on Truth and on GETTR, the nationwillfollow.com, which we're going to get into, but I encourage everyone to go and make use of the website and see what John has put together. And, John, you're so many people, touch a former director of cyber security policy. I know you served 35 years as a colonel and senior civilian, and you've been involved, as I've learned from just reading the book, at many different areas and aspects of, I guess, the government level, the military level, the Pentagon, so many areas. But it's probably better for me to ask you to introduce yourself and touch on some of those areas, because I certainly can't give honour to all the things you've done. So maybe take a moment or two to introduce yourself. Maybe two thirds of our viewers are UK, we're about 20% US, but two thirds are the UK. So take a minute to and introduce yourself to our audience before we jump into your book. Yeah, thank you, Peter. And also ColonelRetJohn on Substack will be Colonel Ret John all the time more Colonel Ret John than you can handle. And it'll just be a firehose of Colonel Ret John on Substack. But so Peter, I mean, I stopped counting at 35 years because I still have, I still do consulting, I'm very heavily involved in think tanking and things like that. So I'm very involved in the game, but I stopped counting at 35 years, but I kind of break up my time into five eras of service. I came in during the Reagan years and the Cold War. A child of the Cold War, I grew up in the Cold War with nuclear weapons, on alert, not too far from where I grew up. I came in during the Cold War, during the last decade of the Cold War, and it was an exciting time. It was the Reagan era. We were good, they were bad, and we were gonna put the Soviets out of business. It was as simple as that. It was an exciting time, some of the Reagan years. Then it evolved into the peace dividend years. I did a tour in Bosnia, worked closely with the British in peace making and peacekeeping in Bosnia. Learned a lot about a lot of things. So those are the peace dividend years when we'd wonder what is the purpose of our military? What do we do with our military? And then it evolved into the War on Terror. But it was, we even, even before then, this person named Osama kept on coming up in meetings, Osama. This guy, Osama, what does this have to do with us? But I don't get it. Who is this guy? Training camps in Afghanistan. So, I don't understand what's going on. So, it was the War on Terror years. And it was, it was a righteous anger in the response. But you know, as time has gone on, who knows some of the truth of things that went on. But it was as we spun up the US and world machine to hunt down terrorists, for a period of time, things seemed to be working. But that started to morph into from the war on terror to the, I called it the, during the Obama, Biden years, the world in chaos, the world in chaos. And then it became the, after that we'd say great power competition. And now, as we realized what was going on with China, and now it's the great showdown with China. The fifth act is the great showdown with China and the battle to save the republic here in America and actually worldwide. Well I know we've had Frank Gaffney on talking about his book The Indictment on China. I know you're a fellow of the CSB, so one of your many other parts that you play. But going on to the book, if I can just bring up, this is what the viewers will find on the website. The Nation will follow. I'd encourage everyone to go there. I enjoyed John's book on audio. You can obviously get it as a hardback, paperback. And so much to find, so please go to the website and make use of the information available there. Order your copy. It's a short book, 200 pages. You can read it quite quickly. It'll give you such an overview of The Deep State, really, in the situation there. But maybe I can bring you back. Chapter two, Encounter on the A-Ring, and the quote there, which obviously made you think of what was happening, was, we see more opportunities with her. Do you want to talk about that encounter and how that maybe opened your eyes to what was happening deeper. Well, thank you, Peter. So roughly, it was like July 2016. And I was rushing to a meeting in the Pentagon, you always go to the A-Rank so you can get you can spin around and come out to the, the other part of the Pentagon. You can get to anywhere part of in the Pentagon in eight minutes, if you know, know how to navigate. I was rushing to a meeting. That's what you do in the Pentagon, you rush to meetings and I was in the A-ring, the inner circle of the A-ring and I ran into somebody who had been a Bush appointee, somebody I trusted, somebody I worked with very closely together, somebody I looked at as a mentor, a friend and I just, we ran into each other. I said, well, what are you up to? Where are you going? He says, well, I'm being a greybeard. That's being a sage counsel during some something, some meeting. I'm a grey beard. And and I and I said, well, you know, I said, well, the didn't mean be political, but it was he was a Republican and a Republican appointee. And I said, well, the convention's coming up at this point in time. Trump had knocked out 16 in a row. I was originally a Cruz guy. But hey, after seeing 16 knockouts in a row, I'm Trump. OK. And I said, well, you're going to support Trump at the convention because I knew he was going to the convention. He said, this changed, first thing that changed my life was becoming a saved believer in Christ, but the second and not as important, but pretty important was what he said. He said, when I said, are you going to support Trump at the convention? He said, no, we see more opportunities with her. And I was just, for a second I was just, I didn't know what to say and then I almost lunged at him and I said, who is we and what opportunities do you see? And I just, everything flashed in front of my eyes and my career. I said, Donald J. Trump was right. There is a swamp, there is a deep state, and I just ran headlong right into it. I was shocked. And that, must, is you hadn't come across this in your time in the military. Maybe touch on how you made the step from, I guess, serving, you mentioned serving in Bosnia, how you, that move to actually being in the Pentagon, because the Pentagon is, I've driven past a number of times, and it's this iconic building. How did you end up actually physically being in there? Well, that's a very interesting question. So after 9-11, I was actually with another government agency at that time. I was in San Antonio. We home-schooled our son. I was at a big conference in San Antonio on 9-11, I had my son with me. He was in the room doing his work, but the TV was on. I He said, Dad, you need to come to the TV, something's going on. So I said, oh my. So bottom line, once we got back to the DCC, which is a story in itself, it's in the book. I was actually sent to Central Command, Central Command, and I was in the J5, and I worked for Admiral Cunningham, Admiral Cunningham, not British fleet, Admiral Cunningham from earlier days, but I mean, this is American Navy, Admiral Cunningham. We had no standing con plan or contingency plan for Afghanistan, shockingly enough. We have a lot of what we call con plans, not for everything. And this is one we didn't have for Afghanistan. So I was working outside of the Admiral's office with me, somebody from another government agency, an army planner, and a couple of Air Force C-17 drivers. And so we're kind of trying to come up with the plan. And so his door would be open and Rumsfeld or my president would be on the line saying, what is the blankety blank plan? Give us something. And I felt like a script writer in Hollywood because we're outside, you know, okay, here's the deal. Here's what, here's the next one. They don't like that one. Okay, here's what we're going to do next. So anyway, we came up with the plan for Afghanistan. Shortly after that, I was sent to the Joint Staff because they needed a war planner inside what is called the J3 on the Joint Staff. This is the highest staff in the universe. This was, until woke-ism, the best staff in the universe, all due respect to Whitehall, and I love my British Five Eyes partners. And I've spent time in Whitehall, And I, there's more on that in the book, but so I went to J3 Special Operations to finish off the Afghan plan, work on other places like Yemen, which is such a beautiful and lovely country and so friendly and nice. And then we started working on the plan for removing Mr. Hussein and started recruiting regime exiles and putting that plan together and executing that plan and going to Iraq to help stand up post-regime change government. So that's how I ended up in the Pentagon. That's how I ended up in the Pentagon. Wow. There's another part of the book that you describe a chance encounter with someone, whether it's chance or not is another issue, but on your way to London, and I remember listening to this, you discussing sitting at dinner and a strange encounter there, which I guess further made you think of what was happening. Do you wanna explain that to the viewers? Thank you, Peter. Yeah, this was October, first few days of October, six, seven, eight, nine, that area. And I was in, I was going to London for a Five Eyes meeting on information sharing. I was the American senior official to the Five Eyes information sharing, the five English speaking countries. On the plane, I saw somebody who had worked for years. He was a very senior FBI official, had retired. We chit chatted a bit on the plane and didn't quite understand what he was doing in London. But a few nights later. Dinner, totally unrelated to the Five Eyes meeting, a common friend of ours had been in London and was giving a dinner. And at the dinner, my call, my retired senior law enforcement colleague, we all stand up and kind of sing for our supper and tell what are we, what is it we're passionate about? And he had an absolute meltdown. Remember, this is 30 days out from the election, and an absolute meltdown about Trump. And we're going to prove that Trump is a Russian asset, which later, when he gave classified testimony to Adam Schiff and it was revealed, he totally said, we have nothing, we have nothing on Trump. So he, when he was, when he rose his right, when he gave, took an oath and was giving testimony, he said, we have nothing, we have nothing. But in this public thing, he says, we're going to prove Trump is a Russian asset. And I go, this is, this is insane. Well, I've never seen him so just crazed like this. And I'm looking around the room, you know, people are probably globalist elites and they're all going fine, because they're saying, oh, come on, Hillary's going to clean up the floor with this Trump guy. It's going to be a knockout. I go, this is crazy. This is crazy. 30 days before the election. And if you do the forensics, and I did the forensics later because I gave a large statement on this to the Durham investigation, is when I did the forensics, he was a good friend of Comey, I knew that he was a good friend of Comey. The only reason he would have been in London was to talk to chief of station. That's an American term for the senior CIA official, Chief of Station. Gina Haspel, Gina Haspel to finalize the Fusion GPS story, which was later proven to be fake. Everybody lied about it. It was stunning. And I'm going, what am I witnessing? Somebody I trust. I've been at many meetings at the White House, many meetings sitting across the table as we introduced the mass surveillance system from 2007-2014 and the Comprehensive National Cyber Security Initiative. And that was a good idea at the time. We're going to target bad people, terrorists. What could possibly go wrong? And I want to get on the Trump side. And you made one step from Cruz to Trump. I was Carson Cruz Trump, so I took another step on. But at the beginning, in the first part, you have a chapter simply entitled, What is the Deep State? And we have touched on this just once before, actually, in many interviews, only once with Alex Newman, and he's coming out from a commentator's point of view, but you're coming out of from someone who's served in the military. So a different aspect. So maybe you can explain, this is a term which I guess is, more familiar to our US audience and maybe our UK audience and is often, disparaged, dismissed and ridiculed, mocked and thrown out by the media, which makes you wonder when the media are throwing something out and dismissing something that makes you wonder why they are dismissive so quickly. But the deep state, maybe take a while and introduce what is actually the Deep State. Well, I think you can break the deep state down to three basic components. The first are the technocrats, and these are the senior ranking officials that kind of float in and out of government at the, as we're finding out, the fifth, I call it the fifth branch of government, the non-profits in America. They go to the think tanks. I'm all for think tanks. I'm all for, but I'm for transparency and accountability. I'm all for think tanks, but they float into university. I'm a college professor, university professor myself and do a graduate course. I'm all for that, but, they kind of float in and out. These are the Fauci's. These are the Fauci's. Now Fauci actually never left government. He was literally the highest paid bureaucrat in the US government, But he was not just a simple bureaucrat. He was a very senior technocrat that were, these are the ones that are the high priests of what is truth and what is the narrative. And they cannot be questioned or you will be blacklisted. You'll be side-lined if you dare question the technocrats. But then there's the bureaucrats. Those are the careerists. They can be uniformed military. They can be civilians, and I've been both. You take an oath in office of both, in uniform or as a civilian in the US government. But these are the bureaucrats that are beholden to the idea of no matter what the question is, the answer is government and more government. Doesn't matter what the question is, The answer is a government program. So you've got the technocrats, the bureaucrats, and then you've got the plutocrats. And these are the wealthy. Many of them dominate big tech. Nothing wrong with being wealthy. Nothing wrong with that at all, as long as it was properly and legally accrued. But they have immense wealth. And as we saw with, you know, with big tech, you know, Elon Musk, you know, Facebook, Amazon, Jeff Bezos, all these, you know, they have immense power in America. You also have the venture capitalists that, you know, we're finding out and I've been to many of them, There's Anne Greeson Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia, etc. on Sand Hill Road in Silicon Valley. So these plutocrats have immense wealth, nothing wrong with being wealthy, but they have undue influence and access because of that wealth. So those are the three major components of the deep state. And I guess the deep state had no intention, the media had no intention, the establishment had no intention of Trump actually winning that election. And that changed the whole game. Suddenly someone was in the White House that was not part of the plan in whichever way you want to take that. Tell us about that because you talk about that the forces that are there that really were opposing Trump at every step. Yeah, absolutely. Government has grown out of control and there are those in government say they're conservative, they're not conservative, most of them, they're beholden to government and big government and all powerful government, but in early 2016, we started suddenly these meetings started happening where the Russians are meddling in the election again. Okay, well, interesting. And the cyber response group was a group that I was one of the original members of going back 2008, 2009. Because of several reasons, I would say I was eased out of that group. And these tremors and indicators were coming from the cyber response group. So in these very classified meetings, we start, several people start going, tee hee, tee hee, It's the Russians again, and they're very interested in this Trump guy. Very interested, and a lot of this is coming from our Five Eyes partners, because if you understand the American process of intelligence collection, we have very, what are supposed to be strict controls, but an end around that existed. It was not normally used, but used was when one of your Five Eyes partners would come up to the operations table, because at most of these, these operations centers, you normally have your five eyes partners who are, who are there right with you. So you got a Brit, you got, Canadian, and an Australian and, and maybe 25% of a New Zealander, because they have to cover everything. So... You know, you know, it too well. So, and it's a wonderful partnership and it's a good partnership, but it's part of the basis for what spun out of control. So they could, you could come up and it's called, it's called a table drop where one of your partners, and this can be used in several situations, but you know, your back is turned, you know, you're at the, you're at the centre table on the watch floor. Of your Five Eyes partners walks up, you turn around, you turn back, and there's a piece of paper on the table. And it's like, ooh, what is that? Ooh, this is good. Ooh, it's very interesting. And, oh, it didn't come from us. So I don't have to worry if there is an American national in this collection because it didn't come from us. It didn't come from us. It came from one of our partners. So there was that aspect, because there was all these inferences that all of this was coming from our Five Eyes partners, that Trump was mocked and pilloried for daring to say, because remember, he brought that up. And everybody's, oh, come on, come on. What are you talking about? No, no, that's exactly what happened. That's exactly what happened. So a few days after the election, I was called by one of my careerist colleagues on the classified, the top secret phones, and John, you have got to be involved in this. We're standing up an interagency committee to finalize the Russian narrative and delay or block Trump's first inauguration. I said, I just, I just, as soon as I sung up the phone, I just put my head in my hands on my desk. I said, I cannot believe this is going on. The simple short story is we ran the asset, but I'm a careerist. I took an oath of office. If Trump is a Russian asset, I want to know about it. So the bottom line, November, December of 2016, we spun up. The outcome was there were no dinosaurs in this dinosaur park. There was no information. So, so this is what, this is one of the, we have Intel community assessments. I've been involved in a number, national intelligence estimates. That's why we're spending $80 billion a year on the US intelligence community. And that's an unclassified number that it's released. It's right on the DNI website. And in this, there was no information. So in my write-up, because when that process, the package comes back to the departments and agencies, I write an action memo for the Secretary of Defense, who was Ash Carter, he's now dead. And I said, sir, my recommendation is not concur. There is no information that shows that Trump is a Russian asset. Even though the executive summary said Trump is a Russian asset, if you look in the body, there's nothing. We got nothing. And I was told John, stand down, cease and desist. Ash already signed his Comey and Brennan are personally hands on keyboard typing this very brief document. Which came out it's not the unclassified version is on the DNI website but if there's very little difference between these classified and top secret versions, its like what's the difference why do we even have two versions. And they Oh, John, John, you don't understand we said, small dog, but in the public version, we said puppy, all the difference in the world. Okay, I said, This is utterly ridiculous. But so you never get a director of CIA, or FBI, personally typing these memos, that's what you have a staff for. And so this was a total coup before to try and prevent block Trump from even getting into office, but that the war never ceased and never stopped to this day. John, I want to get on to the second book coming out. When you do anything with, I guess, the War Room Posse, having Stephen K. Bannon writing the intro, it becomes bigger and is part of a series now. But I want to, as a Christian, I'm intrigued by someone who talks about their faith as quite central, and listening to that, that came across, and it's, I guess, a balance against the deep state that wants to remove that and provide its own truth and security. But you talk about your Christian faith as providing, I guess, a foundation, a confidence, a certainty for you personally. How has that played, what importance has that played, I guess, in your career in the military and what you're doing now? Well, we want to be, we live in this world as Christians, but we should not conform or be part of this world. Man, which includes man and woman, is imperfect and fallen, and we have to always realize that, but the secularist, those who want to drive God out of the public discussion are, it's all about me. It's about me, me, me, and we're perfect. We have, It is this presumption, and it's faulty, that we have ultimate knowledge of everything, and we are masters of our situation. We aren't. We aren't. And being a saved believer in Christ gives you what I call a known starting point in life, whether you're talking about position, navigation, or timing, or you're talking about life, it's a known starting point, and it sets you out differently. And I'll just give you a little vignette of why we should be different and just not fall into what is the trend of the day? Is it the cult of transgenderism? Is it this? Is it that? No, no, the book, Bible, King James Version, that's what I read, it's enduring, it transcends time, almost said the wrong word there, transcends time. And no matter what, it gives you a known starting point. And in the business of government or the business of business, in life, you're going to be have a lot of questionable situations, you're going to be put in whether you like it or not. And having a moral compass, that known starting point is a foundation, but a quick vignette. I used to have to travel with this Japanese general. And one time, he came up to me, and we were getting ready to go out on the day together to do some things. And he comes up to me. John, something is different about you, you're different, why are you different? And I said, well, sir, I looked around, I go, I just didn't expect this, I said, sir, I'm a saved believer in Christ, and I'd like to share that message with you of his plan of salvation. He was like, but it was an honour, this Japanese general, he'd seen something different in me. And I really appreciate that, respected it, and hopefully I was a good witness for Christ in that situation. I've stayed in contact with him and hopefully planted that seed. So that's where I think it's very important, Peter. John, thanks for sharing your faith story. As I said, it's always fascinating. And as I said before, what you started out, you may not have intended to be serious, I have no idea. I know that Worm has a habit of making things bigger and grander and growing things. And you're, the second book coming out, War Against the Deep State. When is this coming out? It's available for pre-order now on thenationwillfollow.com. Should be out in the fall here, September, October time period, and it's a great follow-up book that gives, talks about several things. One of the big messages in The Nation Will Follow is in the American governance system, it's all about action, action, action at the county level. We have roughly 3,300 counties in America and county equivalents, a city can be a county. And it's all about government. It's all about the foundation of our governance. And if anybody is not happy with the way things are going in the swamp in D.C., the swamp in D.C. and the elite stand upon the shoulders of the nanny staters at the county level. What the left has done in America is, over 50 years, they've taken over the seven common centres of gravity in America and our county. It's the school board, county council, election board, registrar, judges, sheriffs, and prosecutors. We have to take those back. We've lost them over 50 years. In book two, we go into greater detail on that. We give some good success stories. We also talk about the foundations of the surveillance state, which I was one of the creators of, unfortunately, in the 2007 to 2014. So more- That's something that fascinates me because we have now seen live facial recognition across London, across the UK, widened out, and a huge abuse of, so we have the online safety bill coming in the UK, which will bring in the most, the biggest control, I guess, of what is said online. And I know that a number of, I know that Wikipedia, Signal, a number of others said they'll have to pull out of the UK. But talk to us about that mass surveillance state because that seems to be where we are going as a society. Well, in the book, Ordinance of the Deep State, I give the genesis and foundation of mass surveillance. And it was really, as the war on terror started, we realized we need to be better on scale. And now I've learned to be very careful about that word scale, globalists and elites and deep staters love the word scale, because they want to always control on scale. But yeah, tracking, hacking, individual cell phone is one thing or an individual computer is one thing. Doing it in an enduring manner on a mass scale is something very different. And you have to automate, you have to do it, use artificial intelligence, you can't just use throw more humans at the problem. So you have to create these structures. The foundation was the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative started during the, toward the end of the Bush period, Obama came on board, they did a review, they liked it, they loved it, they wanted more of it, so they poured gas on it. And it exploded because it's almost intoxicating to the policy person, to the senior official. And the question is not, it was not, it was no longer can we, the question should have been should we, because it got out of control. It just, it became, when you see the mass scale that is capable, that is possible, Everybody just, just goes bonkers they lose their minds they said yeah, it's you could get anything you want in split seconds and believe me, people don't understand this until we've actually sat in the, one of the control centres at one of the intelligence communities or five eyes partners and see what what what I mean by that because it's it's breath-taking what can be had, we see Hollywood versions. But a lot of this stuff is, and sometimes is even better, and it becomes dangerous because it starts to establish a mastery of government over the citizen. In the American system, definitely, the people are the owners of the government, not the other way around. But if you're one of the elite, going in and out of government, think tanks, universities, You don't worry about what the common folks say. It's irrelevant, because they're too stupid. And that's been said. I've seen that at the White House. I've heard that said at the White House on both the Bush and the Obama era. A citizen is too stupid to know what they want, yet we're going to decide for them. Verbatim, that's been said. And that's bad. That is really dangerous. Because then you start the pathway down to socialism, totalitarianism, communism, and that's dangerous. So these are tools and the campuses out in the Virginia countryside that have now been established are derived from that program. Actually, I managed, I was the DOD senior lead for that and I had budget oversight over immense amount of money. And a lot of those campuses out on the Virginia countryside were born from that program. And so no longer do we have your old school CIA operative trying to buy off somebody in some remote country. I mean, that's dangerous. It's dirty. You don't get to see the kids and family at night. So why don't you just do it remotely and do it remotely. But it also became exciting because, what, who cares about what's going overseas. What about domestically? Why don't we just use it to start unmasking those Americans and expose what those Americans are saying in these intercepts? We're supposed to be focused on the foreign threat. No, no, no, we don't care about the foreign threat. We want to know who's opposing Obamacare? Who's opposing the growth of government? Who doesn't agree with us? And we just had an incredibly important court order. I'm number 862 on the Twitter top 10,000 of those silenced by Twitter, you know, and we just had an incredible court finding where a federal judge in Louisiana said, hold on federal government. You can't collude with big tech. You are not allowed to collude with big tech on this. He goes, I don't, this is wrong. You cannot do this. We knew, everybody knew about this. We knew about this. We knew about this. And, you know, and Merrick Garland's Department of Justice, instead of saying, you're right, judge, we shouldn't collude with big tech to spy on American citizens. Merrick Garland is, and just got overruled, introduced a petition to, you know, stay that judge's ruling. Why? Because DHS CISA on Glebe Road wants to continue what they call the customer access portal, where government officials can directly reach into big tech and social media and identify and throttle American citizens. And again, that's very important for me. I have a legal team working on a filing. This was a huge, huge finding for this judge to, to, to cease this program and we need to know the truth. And who's leading this right now? Jenny Silly. Jenny Silly, retired Army O5 from, spent a lot of time at Fort Meade, very close to Keith Alexander, the former director of NSA and, and Cyber Command. And she was one of the ones I worked on in the early days of the CNCI. And she's upset, Biden's upset that they can't collude with big tech to silence America. Ladies and gentlemen, we got to fight. We got to fight and we got to bring down the deep state because they will, they will destroy every one of us. And I know that, although I watched it closely, and I know you talk about that, the cancer of big government and that big tech collusion. Maybe I could ask you about the Durham report, because obviously many of those in position of power have done all they can do. They failed to keep Trump out in 2016, but they've done all they can do to try and discredit him. And that's been part of the Durham report. Do you want to just let us know how that has transpired? What kind of has been the outcome of that? Well, I gave a number of statements. I had to update them as more truth was revealed to the Durham investigation. And I know we didn't get a slam dunk home run or whatever the British sports appropriate British sports term is. We didn't get a, yeah, I know Steve Bannon and others, I mean, I wasn't totally happy, but there were many good things that came out. Now, first of all, I'd say the mere fact that Durham was able to release a report, if you, understand the deepest part of the deep state is the Department of Justice and the Department to Justice front office. I worked with them closely during the Trump years and getting anything out of the DOJ front office was a miracle. Because they hated Trump and they were totally undermining Barr, even though Barr was in the end the best anyway either, but they were totally undermining Barr, everything. So the mere fact that he got it out was incredible. The second thing was he also, It was a horrific indictment, informal indictment of the entire federal law enforcement and intelligence community. The third, I would say, now I think this was part of the negotiation between Bulldog Durham and Garland to get the report out is, yeah, you've got this FBI retired guy McGonigal, the senior executive, he's been arrested, indicted for taking payoffs from the Russians, but we're not gonna call it part of the Durham report. We're just gonna announce it, it's gonna be separate, and we're not gonna connect it to the Durham report. Very likely information I gave at Durham led to McGonigal, and for everybody's reference, Charles McGonigal in 2015, 2016 was the senior FBI official in charge of counterintelligence in the FBI field office, the largest FBI field office. And so here's the guy who's supposed to be investigating Russia interference in the election, Russia penetration of the Trump campaign, and he retires and is arrested for what? Unlawfully working for the Russians. Now, of course, the pious elitist would say, oh, but he was retired. It has nothing to do with his government service. Oh, come on. These things just don't come out of thin air. Those tentacles of him working for the Russians go back years, years before he retired. So it was a huge finding. The guy who was supposed to be the trusted FBI chief in charge of Russia, Russia, Russia, has been arrested. His whole life is a mess now. He's going to prison, I guarantee that. And he's been arrested for working for the Russians. So that was huge. Now there's also five in, they're called criminal referrals, oftentimes just simplified to referrals. You never, I didn't get through 35 plus years of government service never being charged or indicted without understanding intimately the traps and the unforced errors of the environment, but you never want your name to be associated with a referral. That is known as a bad thing. Five criminal referrals are on page 11 of Durham. Well, three of those five sure sound an awful lot like information that I gave to the Durham investigation. So not a home run, maybe not even a triple, but there was good things that came out of the Durham report and these things take time. It's not over yet and we got to just keep on fighting and swinging. And as somebody from England said, never ever, ever, ever give up, never, ever surrender. Absolutely. Colonel Retired John Mills, I so appreciate you coming on. As I said, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the book. If I can just bring it up once again to encourage, whether you're US, UK, Europe, you can get a hold of it either as a physical book or as an audiobook and then part two, the next part of the series is coming very soon. John said the fall for American viewers, autumn for UK viewers. It is coming soon, but do get a copy. You'll really enjoy reading, understanding what lies behind a lot of what we are seeing and it will educate you massively. So John, I appreciate you coming on. Thank you so much for your time today. Peter, thank you so much. Honoured to be on with you, all my UK brothers and sisters and all freedom-loving people in Europe. Thank you so much, Peter.
In a stunning series of recent revelations we have seen the mask and clothes of the emperor dissolve in real time. On July 21st the Justice Department announced that former ABC journalist James Gordon Meek plead guilty to transportation and possession of child sexual abuse material, including a video of an infant being raped. The FBI found that his files date back to 2014, just months after being hired by ABC, prompting speculation that the material might have been part of a black-mail operation. Either way, James was one of a number of journalists who 'debunked' a certain pizza conspiracy, which although was certainly a counter-intelligence operation, discredited the very thing he had on his electronic devices at the time of the debunking. A few days later, an ex-FBI counterintelligence chief, Charles McGonigal, was planning to plead guilty on charges of colluding with Russia. This is the same man who had told the FBI that Russia was offering 'political dirt' on Hillary Clinton as part of an effort to interfere with the 2016 Presidential election. A few days later the Oversight for the Committee on House Administration found that the J6 committee failed to keep documents, data, and video depositions, of the investigation, along with communications with the current White House, and that they outright ignored evidence, including Capitol Hill security failures. Soon after the the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability released more bank records showing that Joe Biden and his son Hunter, along with business associates, received millions in payouts from Russians, Ukrainians, and Kazakhstani oligarchs as political bribes. One partner testified that they sold the Bidens as a "brand" to make profit. In other words, the Joe Biden, especially as Vice President, committed not only the very crimes he accuses his political opponents of, but he and his associates are actively trying to put those opponents in jail, while they continue to commit acts of treason. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5328407/advertisement
Mick Jagger, CrossFire Hurricane, And God Told Us So . . . Elvis Chan lies apparently under oath about the involvement of the FBI in the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story and a former FBI agent is expected to plead guilty for secretly working with a Russian oligarch. In this episode, join us to unpack the hypocrisy layered in both these events. We examine Ron Desantis' claims to be a futurist, but doubts persist about what plans he has to bring about this future; are these visionary enough? As he threads the needle concerning the election of Figurehead Biden, the American people still look for answers in an obviously sabotaged election. What does God's Word say? Matthew 24:4-254 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,' and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.15 “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,'[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.22 “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!' or, ‘There he is!' do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.Episode Episode 1,010 Links:Happening Now: Former FBI agent Charles McGonigal is expected to plead guilty to working for a Russian Oligarch. Hour 2 - Good Wednesday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: Former FBI agent Charles McGonigal, who is charged with violating U.S. sanctions by working with a Russian oligarch, was tied to the Trump-Russia collusion investigation, as well as a separate defensive briefing given to Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election. Mike Pence appeared to make an obvious mistake in a new promotional video explaining his views on energy policy released Tuesday. Former President Trump mocked former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie during a campaign stop in New Hampshire this week. Sources are coming out that the Secret Service and President Joe Biden know who brought cocaine into the White House... And apparently it's not Hunter Biden.
Join host Zev Shalev as he dives deep into the recently released Durham Report, dissecting special counsel John Durham's inquiry into the FBI's investigation into Donald Trump in 2016. Discover the shocking findings on the influence of foreign money, primarily from Saudi Arabia, on U.S. elections and the potential implications for democracy. EPISODE 142: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: Merrick Garland is going to appear in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday morning. And it looks like there'll be yet another new and big and shiny thing to ask him about, about the arrested ex-FBI man Charles McGonigal and the Russian linked via Paul Manafort to Trump, Oleg Deripaska. Once, McGonigal was in charge of investigating Deripaska. The next thing you knew, he was WORKING FOR Deripaska. Exactly WHEN that happened keeps changing. 2020? 2019? Now it's 2018? Could it have been 2016? Judiciary Chair Dick Durban and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse want to know, and they want to know if Garland knows if McGonigal was aware of his FBI New York Field Office and how it was already trying to fix the 2016 election for Trump by forcing James Comey to re-smear Hillary Clinton eleven days before the election. Meanwhile Trump CAN get the GOP nomination because the GOP hierarchy is moronic: it actually believes it has "cornered" him by demanding a pledge of all would-be nominees to support whoever gets the nomination because OF COURSE he always lives up to his promises. And Tucker Carlson doubles down on the January 6th video scam. B-Block (18:08) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: First you could say "Dilbert" isn't funny. Then you could say it isn't appropriate. Now, after Scott Adams' racist rant, you can say it just...isn't. Happily Elon Musk is there to defend him. And the Department of Energy says Covid-19 was a lab leak? Oh they say it with "low confidence" that they're right? And it's the Department of ENERGY? (21:43) In sports: baseball's pitch clock seems to work (I'll be DAMNED), but where is it going to come up with the money to pay Manny Machado? Four more Regional Sports Networks pumping baseball (and the NBA and NHL) full of cash say they will likely go bankrupt within a month. (25:20) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Did the anti-Drag governor of Tennessee dress up IN drag in High School? Why does one writer keep calling CNN's Chris "Maybe Ate Paste" Licht a genius when he's never finished higher than last in the ratings? And how do you spell "NINTH" and "TWELFTH"? Don't ask the Florida Department of Education - the folks there have no clue. C-Block (32:00) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Peanut, in North Carolina, who weighs 20 pounds when she should weigh 60, needs your help. (33:15) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: On one day I was supposed to have coffee - at her invitation, as a prelude to a date, with Uma Thurman, AND the president of Current TV was taking me to dinner to explain how we could get rid of the idiot co-owner who didn't know what "DVR" was and so bought ratings showing only "Live" viewers, not "Live + DVR" viewers. If I tell you I had coffee and dinner alone, can you guess what happened?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The co-hosts and Gabriel Donnelly (himself a young labor activist) interview Felix Allen, lead organizer and president of Lowe's Workers United, the newly-formed independent union at a Lowe's home-improvement store in New Orleans. Felix discusses the situation at the Lowe's store—pay, hours, working conditions that impelled him and his co-workers to organize, and he explains why they decided to form an independent union. He discusses recent labor and anti-racist struggles that convinced him that a fight for union representation might succeed even in the deep South. He also tells the story of his union's difficult fight for a union-representation election. He, Gabriel, and the co-hosts discuss the racial dimension of class struggles, and the class dimension of anti-racist struggles. EPISODE 131: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: The latest on Trump Special Counsel Smith subpoenaing Mike Pence. And the Republicans extended their collective self-own to 48 hours as "The Weaponization Subcommittee" meets and points the weapon at itself. The star FBI whistleblower witness turns out to have retired from the bureau in 1999 and gets decimated by Rep. Dan Goldman; the star "Twitter Legal" expert turns out to be Jonathan Turley and he gets destroyed by Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. As Tulsi Gabbard testifies, a Republican literally falls asleep; as Chuck Grassley testifies he insists Hillary Clinton colluded with the Russians in 2016 to make sure she...lost? It's worse than a farce; it's a farce that even Fox News won't televise. And it hides the reality that there SHOULD be a weaponization investigation and it should be pointed at the Barr-Durham Investigation, and that the ever-unfolding story of the arrested ex-FBI agent Charles McGonigal. New reporting on McGonigal suggests he could have been a blackmail victim, and that those two separate criminal indictments(working for Trump-friendly Russian Oleg Deripaska, and meddling in Albanian politics) may actually be part of only one giant conspiracy. EPISODE 127: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:41) SPECIAL COMMENT: It is carefully hidden to protect the sources, but there's no question in my mind now: The New York Times' profile of the arrested ex-FBI New York Executive Charles McGonigal implies that FBI and DOJ are investigating whether he was working for Oleg Deripaska, employer of Paul Manafort who was Trump's Campaign Manager - FOR FREE - long before he retired from the Bureau. I go through the Times piece line-by-line and the phrasing, the invoking of an earlier Russian Spy in McGonigal's own FBI department, the terminology, is all groundwork for later stories that could fully reengage this country with the reality of Trump's 2016 Conspiracy with Russia - and how the FBI's New York Office may have knowingly or unknowingly played a part on both ends of that fetid deal. B-Block (19:53) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Gang Of 8 offered Trump Dock-Drama briefing; "Jim Dial" dies; Flaco the missing Central Park Owl? He's over at my place (24:32) IN SPORTS: Conspiracy nut Kyrie Irving dealt to Dealey Plaza; NHL tries to pretend its sudden homophobia problem/Pride Night disaster crisis is just going to go away (27:55) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Inside SCOTUS (in)security and use of private emails; Jenna Ellis is a moron; a Mississippi state rep goes full racist about the Chinese balloon. C-Block (34:00) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Andre, in New York (34:50) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Schmuck Todd did it again. Another Republican Congressman lied to him about the five Chinese Recon Balloons sighted during the Trump Administration and Chuck said "duh, ok." “The information—and the bulleted information specifically in that email—is information, in my opinion, that could only have come from a classified source and a classified document …Where did this email come from? Hunter Biden's laptop. This document has been known to the FBI for years,” said Kash Patel. Was there classified information on Hunter Biden's laptop? Was this the true origin of the investigation into Joe Biden's classified documents?Kash's Corner looks at recent reporting by New York Post journalist Miranda Devine. And discusses the recent indictment of ex-FBI official Charles McGonigal, a key player in the Russiagate scandal. He was indicted for aiding sanctioned Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. Notably, Deripaska had previously hired Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous, discredited “Steele dossier.” Tonight, Patel connects the dots and breaks down what he sees going on.
EPISODE 125: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: Do 15 words in The New York Times' infamous Halloween clearing of Trump on Russia identify one of the anonymous governmental sources of the lie as the just-arrested ex-FBI agent Charles McGonigal? Does the timeline of what the FBI New York office did with the Anthony Weiner laptop also suggest that the man who helped force the Comey Letter is...Charles McGonigal? Did the DOJ just arrest someone on lesser charges in hopes of getting him to flip on Trump, or the FBI New York leakers, or others in the Trump-Russia Conspiracy? Someone named...Charles McGonigal? The analysis by author Greg Olean finds potential smoking guns everywhere. And did FBI interference on Trump's behalf ever stop? A new Congressman presses the DOJ to investigate William Barr and John Durham, and - another election, another laptop - Hunter Biden goes on offense and demands the DOJ and the state of Delaware investigate Trumpland figures including Rudy Giuliani for stealing the contents of his laptop, and trafficking in them. B-Block (19:25) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Melody in Arkansas (20:38) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Tom Brady retired. Again. SURRRRRE he did. The College Board caves to Ron DeSantis - time to put them out of business. And a nitwitted Freshman Congressman from Missouri named Burlison not only compares DirecTV refusing to pay to carry NewsMax to the holocaust, but tries to ad lib Pastor Niemoller's "First, they came for the Socialists." Too bad about DirecTV being "de-platformed" and Burlison now having absolutely no place left in Right Wing Media to go to whine about being silenced. C-Block (34:49) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Sure the FBI New York bureau may have fixed the 2016 election to Trump, but literally they're not all bad. In fact, I'm a satisfied customer. They did a helluva job each time some guy mailed me what he claimed was Anthrax in 2006.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

EPISODE 123: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: "You have a lot of folks who are just waiting for his mortal demise," says former Michigan Republican Congressman Peter Meijer. "I've heard from a lot of people who will go onstage and put on the red hat and then give me a call the next day and say 'I can't wait until this guy dies.'" It's an amazing strategy but a passive one. And it ignores the various walls closing in on Trump: two District Attorneys, three Grand Juries, one Judiciary Chairman annoyed at John Durham and William Barr, one Judiciary Chairman rebuffed by Merrick Garland, one porn star, and one guy named Pecker. Still, potentially the most extraordinary story about Trump: the clouds gathering around the arrest of Charlie McGonigal, who was a 24/7, 365 days a year, hot and cold running blackmail-victim-FBI-Agent-waiting-to-happen. And now two analysts look at his arrest and suggest: this may evolve into a) a spy scandal in which the national security was utterly breached and b) a journalistic disaster in which Trump, Russia, and the FBI managed to manipulate The New York Times into pushing Trump across the finish line in 2016. B-Block (18:53) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Memphis, in Texas (20:06) IN SPORTS: The passing of hockey's Bobby Hull and Cleveland's John Adams; Why was the 52nd best player in baseball chosen to adorn the cover of its top video game? And happy 206th birthday, J. Shorthouse, Esq. (24:07) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: More George Santos stupidity, a Florida Climate Caucus Congresswoman who owns up to $195k in oil stocks, and Megyn Kelly slams Jill Biden for something her own father did. C-Block (29:56) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: CNN has gone and done it: addressing its cratering ratings by adding a regular Friday segment from Bill Maher's HBO panel. Time again to go back to 2009 when Bill and I nearly brawled at his HBO after-party because he insisted we never met in college (spoiler alert: Oh yeah we did).See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
David Waldman is feeling a little less positive today. That's good, at least when it comes to Covid. President Joe Biden isn't so positive that COVID-19 is such a big deal anymore, at least when it comes to handing out benefits. Republican's actuarial arbitrage comes to a close on Covid, although trading remains brisk on how former the Former Guy could get soon. Not just the GQP, but the FBI and the NYT might also be checking their calendars and their watches wondering when the pressure will finally come down. Alas, Donald isn't going anywhere soon. Once again, we need to reexamine the web of Trump's Russian collusion, from Oleg Deripaska to Paul Manafort, with a long, sad stop at dirtbag Charles McGonigal. George Santos isn't going away as long as his lies keep catching up with him, and they are legion. Kevin McCarthy is being punished and humiliated each moment by Santos, which is sort of his lot in life. So, is George recusing himself from committees a bow to McCarthy's steadfast moral compass, or is he just keeping Kev around a while longer to prolong his agony? Joan McCarter is here to help tear at Republican ruptures, although they are doing just fine on their own. Dems can sit back and enjoy the show.
While Jared Yates Sexton is off this week, Nick Hauselman welcomes stand up comedian Pete Dominick, host of the Stand Up! Former FBI agent Charles McGonigal, who was head of counterintelligence in the New York Field Office and a part of the investigation into supposed ties between Trump and Russia, was arrested over his alleged ties to Russia.
EPISODE 122: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:41) SPECIAL COMMENT: Watch the video of the torture and murder of Tyre Nichols by the Memphis police, and read what they first claimed had happened to him, and the unmistakable truth is confirmed anew: We are all hostages to the police. More directly, more urgently, more fatally - for people of color. But all the rest of us, too. Police who kill other than as a last, unavoidable act to protect the community are no longer police for any of us, and if they can be trained to kill because of race, they can be trained to kill because of politics, or sexual orientation, or because of whoever those who trained them want them to kill. B-Block (19:19) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Olive, the mini-pug, in New Jersey. (20:16) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: A motive for FBI election tamperer Charles McGonigal: he was leading a double life; Trump's domes and binoculars; the ratings of CNN and MSNBC crash and burn but thank god NBC didn't have to deal with the controversy of bringing me back! (26:00) IN SPORTS: White Sox retain Benetti, Super Bowl set on the dumbest penalty in years, Pride Night without the Pride or the explanation. (29:46) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: THE Associated Press insults THE French, General Ripper rides again, and the vapid CNN host who says the Memphis police didn't murder Tyre Nichols. C-Block (35:26) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: On the subject of the cratering of cable news, did I ever tell you how Lawrence O'Donnell tried to take Countdown away from me while I was taking care of my dying father? Or how he stole two of my senior producers to run his new show? Or how he leaked a personal letter of mine to Ann Coulter? EPISODE 121: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: Yesterday I proposed that to crowd this corrupt Republican farce, "The Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Government" off the stage, the Democrats needed a similar investigation in the Senate. Suddenly there are far more important reasons than politics and counter-programming. The New York Times' post-mortem on The Durham "Investigation" shows ethical corner cutting and possible criminality. And the deeper dives into the ex-FBI agent arrested Monday show the outlines of the possibility Charles McGonigal took Russian money long before 2021. What if these are just two pictures of the same conspiracy taken at different times? What if this is ALL about an effort to protect Russian Government Intelligence Agencies, and Trump? And even worse: what if The New McCarthyism of the "Weaponization" subcommittee is just the newest photo of the same cover-up? Start that investigation now, Senators. B-Block (14:57) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Cookie, in Ft. EPISODE 120: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: We must act now against The New McCarthyism, or lose the Republic. With Trump restored to Facebook, dispatching Coke Jr and recording a video sending KEVIN McCarthy instructions for this insidious "Weaponization Subcommittee," the Democrats must literally counter-program. The Senate must crowd the Jim Jordan Star Chamber off the public stage by holding its own hearings (the suppression of the Mueller Report; the actions of just-arrested FBI agent and now Russian oligarch advisor Charles McGonigal in the infamous Comey Letter of October 2016; anything will do). Trump smells the opportunity to turn truth into falsehood, and falsehood into truth. We must stop him and The New McCarthyism - and damn fast. B-Block (15:25) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Huggin, in New York (16:21) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Sapphire's successor is finally on the way; the man behind audience participation at "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" has passed; and a bad day for Joe Rogan and Fred Roggin (20:14)THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: HOW many people watched baseball's Hall of Fame announcement on the network it owns? Marge can see her reflection in a mirror. And the RWNJ who thinks Damar Hamlin didn't recover from his cardiac arrest and is actually dead and the vaccine killed him - because some people are just insensitive morons. C-Block (25:50) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: With the Republicans now offering to place one of their presidential primary debates on CNN or MSNBC, time to recall the day they starkly told Tom Brokaw what HE had to do if they really expected John McCain to show up to the debate Brokaw would moderate in his swan song for NBC News: get me fired.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (01/25/2023): 3:05pm- On Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced that his administration will provide the Ukrainian military with thirty-one M1 Abrams tanks. Biden stated the tanks will allow Ukraine to defend itself against Russian attacks. The New York Times has reported that the tanks will “not likely arrive for many months, if not years.” However, it is believed that Germany will approve its own tanks for Ukrainian use immediately. Germany had prevented other European countries from exporting German-made tanks to Ukraine without prior U.S. approval and coordination. 3:30pm- Rich and Matt recap Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' appearance at Philadelphia's Union League Tuesday night. Gov. DeSantis was awarded the club's highest honor—a gold medal which was first awarded to President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. Other recipients include President Dwight Eisenhower and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. 3:40pm- On Tuesday, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) officially removed Representatives Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) from the House Intelligence Committee. 3:45pm- How much money is the Biden Administration willing to spend defending Ukraine? At what point will funding the Ukraine-Russia war require Congressional approval? 3:50pm- While speaking with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) said he has never taken classified documents home but suggested, in light of Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and Mike Pence all mishandling classified material, there is a “problem” that needs to be addressed. 4:05pm- According to a report from Sareen Habeshian of Axios, the “National Archives did not meet the Tuesday deadline to turn over requested materials to the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability for its investigation into classified documents found in President Biden's home and former office.” 4:10pm- According to a report from Ben Zeisloft of The Daily Wire, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) sold 30,000 shares of Alphabet Inc. one month prior to the Justice Department's announcement that it would be filing an antitrust lawsuit against Google—claiming the search engine monopolizes online advertising. On Tuesday, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) introduced the “PELOSI Act” designed to crackdown on politicians engaging in insider trading. 4:40pm- In a new Daily Wire opinion editorial, Tim Meads wonders why anyone would continue to trust high-ranking officials within the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)—citing the story of FBI agent Charles McGonigal, who investigated Trump-Russia collusion and was recently arrested for money laundering and corrupt ties with a Russian oligarch. Mead recounts several other recent instances of corruption with the bureau. 5:00pm- Dr. Victoria Coates—former Deputy National Security Advisor for Middle East and North African Affairs & Senior Fellow at The Heritage Foundation—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to break down the Biden Administration's decision to send thirty-one M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. How will Russia respond to this decision? And did Germany ostensibly force President Biden to send tanks? Dr. Coates also discusses President Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents and why it's incredibly problematic—particularly when considering Hunter Biden may have had access to the files at the Biden family's Wilmington, Delaware home. 5:30pm- A report from the Government Accountability Office estimates that fraudulent lockdown-era unemployment payments very likely amount to more than $60 billion—with 7.6% of all lockdown-era unemployment payments being fraudulent. 5:35pm- Meta has restored former President Donald Trump's Facebook page. The Washington Post writes, “[b]eing reinstated to Facebook means Trump will be able to resume fundraising to his presidential campaign.” 5:45pm- Caller Joe nonsensically yells at Rich about “antiquated” M1 Abrams tanks… 6:00pm- On Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced that his administration will provide the Ukrainian military with thirty-one M1 Abrams tanks. Callers weigh-in on the decision: Is the U.S. inching closer and closer to direct conflict with Russia? 6:15pm- Speaking to the press on Tuesday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul said she would not rehire healthcare workers who were fired for refusing COVID-19 vaccinations—despite the state suffering from a “crisis level” shortage of healthcare staff. 6:25pm- Rich is preempted by Temple University basketball!

EPISODE 119: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) OF McGONIGAL, DERIPASKA, AND MANAFORT, Part 1: Even at this late date, the ex-FBI executive arrested Saturday, Charles McGonigal, could put Donald Trump in jail forever. McGonigal is not only facing prison for working for Russian oligarch and election conspiracist Oleg Deripaska, but when the FBI revived the "But Her Emails" smear against Hillary Clinton 11 days before the 2016 election and three days later leaked it had "cleared" Trump, McGonigal was the head of the FBI's 2016 Trump-Russia investigation. He's the centerpiece of TWO of the plots to install Trump, and his arrest should start the entire investigation of the Trump-Russia Conspiracy. B-Block (13:34) OF McGONIGAL, DERIPASKA, AND MANAFORT, Part 2: McGonigal, like Paul Manafort, became an employee of Putin crony Deripaska. It's time again to examine Manafort, in bed with Deripaska to the tune of $60,000,000 and appearing in front of Tom Barrack right after Trump lost the Iowa Caucuses saying "I've got to GET TO TRUMP." His story, and the timeline that led McGonigal to a prison cell. C-Block (31:55) OF McGONIGAL, DERIPASKA, AND MANAFORT, Part 3: Suddenly the picture looks so familiar: emails, a computer, gaslighting. It's time to remember the horrible feeling of the morning the sun did not rise: November 9, 2016, and to launch either a Senate or Presidential investigation of the successful Trump-Russia plot to install him in the White House before they succeed again.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (01/23/2023): 3:05pm- On Friday, Justice Department investigators conducted a 13-hour search of President Joe Biden's Wilmington, Delaware home. During the search, six more misplaced classified documents were discovered—some documents dated back to Biden's time as a U.S. Senator, which concluded in 2009. White House lawyers emphasized that President Biden had consented to the DOJ's search. 3:30pm- In a recent New York Post editorial, columnist Miranda Devine hypothesized that Hunter Biden's access to his father's Wilmington home, and subsequent access to classified files, could have been used to generate greater interest in Hunter's services in foreign business dealings. 3:45pm- During Monday's press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre refused to directly answer questions about President Biden's mishandling of classified materials—referring reporters to the White House Counsel for answers to their questions. At one point, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked if President Biden is “involved in a cover-up”? 3:55pm- While appearing on Fox News, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) told Maria Bartiromo that “Americans would be shocked if they saw how many connections the Biden family had to people directly affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party.” 4:05pm- While on ABC's “This Week,” Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) dismissed President Biden's recklessness with classified documents—explaining, that his actions aren't keeping Americans “up at night.” 4:15pm- Surprisingly, in her opening monologue, ABC's Martha Raddatz was highly critical of President Biden's conduct. While appearing on television over the weekend, typical White House allies Democrat Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) voiced disapproval of Biden's recklessness with classified documents. If Biden is losing his friends in the media and the Senate, is he in serious trouble? 4:25pm- A Canadian man has gone viral on social media after expressing his objections to a new health guidance that suggests adults consume no more than two alcoholic beverages per week. 4:35pm- According to Ari Blaff of National Review, “Charles McGonigal, a former FBI official involved in the investigation of Donald Trump's ties to Russia, has been charged with violating sanctions and collaborating with Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.” 4:45pm- According to Yahoo Finance, ChatGPT has passed an exam at University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. Professor Christian Terwiesch said the Artificial Intelligence chatbot would have received a B or B- on the examination had it been an actual student in the course. 5:00pm- According to reporting from Luke Rosiak of The Daily Wire, “[a] 14-year-old transgender runaway from Virginia endured a six-month nightmare that saw her twice fall into the hands of sex traffickers, the second time after Baltimore bureaucrats refused to return her to her home state because they accused her adoptive parents of “misgendering” her.” 5:05pm- In a new survey conducted at California's Davis Joint Unified School District, 6% of the student body self-identifies as transgender or nonbinary. 5:10pm- According to a report in the New York Times, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) summoned exorcists to her home to rid it of bad energy and evil spirits after her husband Paul Pelosi was attacked by a hammer-wielding intruder. Alexandra Pelosi, daughter of Nancy and Paul, said of the assault: “I think that really broke her. Over Thanksgiving, she had priests coming, trying to have an exorcism of the house and having prayer services.” 5:25pm- The Rich Zeoli Show bids farewell to the 2023 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. We laugh, we cry, and we play some of WEF's greatest moments. See you in 2024, Klaus Schwab! 5:30pm- The gunman suspected of killing 10 people at Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park, California ended his own life after being pulled over by police on Sunday. 5:45pm- When questioned by reporters, Karine Jean-Pierre could not point to a single instance demonstrating that President Joe Biden takes classified documents seriously. 5:50pm- An avian flu outbreak has caused egg prices to skyrocket across the United States. One state hit particularly hard: California—due to its requirement that all chicken in the state be free-range, which is more expensive. According to a report from CBS San Diego, some citizens have become so desperate for affordable eggs that they've begun crossing the U.S. Southern border to gain access to cheaper prices. 6:05pm- While appearing on Meet the Press, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) hinted that he might run for president in 2024—and, notably, refused to commit to supporting President Joe Biden's potential candidacy in 2024. 6:20pm- According to auditors, the Pentagon cannot account for over $220 billion in military gear given to contractors—which includes ammunition, missiles, and torpedoes. 6:55pm- In his memoir, “The Spare,” Prince Harry references his private parts fifteen times—including one especially awkward story. EPISODE 118: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: The Trump-Russia story roared back from the dead yesterday and basically nobody noticed. They've arrested retired FBI agent Charles McGonigal, of the lead FBI investigators of 2016 Russian Electoral Interference by Putin-friendly Russian oligarch Oleg Derpiaska. The allegation? That McGonigal has spent the last year secretly working FOR OLEG DERIPASKA. And if that doesn't make you scratch your head, remember that one of Deripaska's employees was a consultant named Paul Manafort and by total coincidence one of Trump's campaign managers was a consultant named Paul Manafort. Plus updates on Biden's documents (we're up to EIGHT different stories now) and how the Arizona Senate race just changed, activating Kyrsten Sinema's aversion to three-ways. C-Block (29:08) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Since it's baseball Hall of Fame announcement day, the story of the time I was asked at age 20 to call Willie Mays after he was banned from the game. A woman answered. Or it sounded like a woman. But it also sounded like Willie. And that's when the fun began.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We can begin the list of reasons today is Terrible Tuesday with the numbers 7 and 11. Seven more people killed yesterday in two related shooting incidents in Half Moon Bay, California. The madness will never end. This is the new normal in the USA. And the death toll from Saturday's massacre in Monterey Park has grown by one, so the number of dead victims is now 11. (Can we leave now?)Uh oh. Breaking news today... The Justice Dept has taken possession of a “small number” of documents with classified markings that former Vice President Mike Pence found in his Indiana residence. PENCE HAD CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS AT HIS HOME TOO! WTF is wrong with these people??It's a bad day for four Oath Keepers who were found guilty yesterday of seditious conspiracy for their roles in the 1-6 attack on the Capitol. And it's truly terrible for the former head of FBI counterintelligence Charles McGonigal, who's been charged and indicted in federal court on charges that include money laundering and violating US sanctions. There's more, including the fact that there's a new WH Chief of Staff incoming. Ron Klain is leaving. Biden chose Jeffrey Zients, who's getting reamed by critics not happy about the decidedly conservative choice, including Jeff Hauser at The Revolving Door Project, who'll join us today to explain what's so bad about Zients.

Sam and Emma host Graham Rayman, criminal justice reporter for The New York Daily News, and Reuven Blau, senior reporter for The City to discuss their recent book Rikers: An Oral History. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on this weekend's mass shooting at Monterey Park, a former New York FBI agent engaging in money laundering with Russian connections, Biden's new Chief of Staff, and the GOP's crackdown on food-based benefits, before diving deeper into the debt ceiling discussion and Joe Manchin's take on how to undermine social security and medicare without being blamed for it. Then, they're joined by Graham Rayman and Reuven Blau as they dive right into their work compiling quotes from those within Rikers on every element of life in the detainment center, from those working there to the detainees that are imprisoned, before they step back and explore the institution of Rikers itself, looking at this prison complex as super-detached from the rest of the NY justice system, acting as a pre-trial detention center while playing host to many victims of the justice system that suffer from severe mental health issues, all adding up to Rikers producing higher death rates while also receiving more funding and hosting fewer inmates in comparison to the rest of the New York system. After an in-depth exploration of Rikers jail as a violent quagmire where inmates are stuck for years before they even face trial, Rayman and Blau walk through the last 50 years of Rikers' development, beginning at the end of the 1970s when the crack epidemic saw New York reinvest in short-term city and state jails on the island, quickly ramping up the population of inmates to around 20 thousand and immediately cementing its role in the New York justice system, despite the infrastructure crumbling within a decade, making the island host to the worst conditions in New York jails which would continue to deteriorate over the next few decades. Wrapping up, they explore the “hidden” role of solitary confinement and the other forms of detainee abuse, and discuss the federal government's highly critical monitoring of the jail and why it has had little to no impact on its existence. And in the Fun Half: Sam, Emma, and the MR Crew tackle the arrest of former FBI agent Charles McGonigal, and Sam's greater half-baked theories of the New York crime world, Tucker goes absolutely ballistic over the idea that conservatives would just be aggrieved for the sake of aggrievement, and Donald Trump's absurd appearance at Diamond's memorial (of Diamond and Silk). They also tackle two different Jims struggle with coherent thought, before they're joined by Kowalski from Nebraska in-studio! Kowalski walks through his first impressions of New York, and the economic developments in the practice of farming over the last half-century, plus, your IMs!
