This time on High-Dere, Ian and Joe invite fellow Amoviego Martyn on the show to wrap up the craziness that was 2020!  We promise, a 3rd "Year End" show is the charm! We talk about the inversion of the moderate political and social opinion, just as long as you PICK a SIDE!  Martyn walks us through his process of learning the debt based system of the United States.  Then we explore the vastness inside us all, accessible through prayer, manifestation, meditation....we are not the bodies that we inhabit,; but we AREvsed capitalihis the product of the experiences our bodies have!!  And like we did during "Chappie" we wonder where consciousness actually comes from.2020 has been a year of a lot of pain and energies being expelled from people, a lot of them through actions and requirements completely outside the control of individuals entirely. We re-visit Olivia Mabel and tease the upcoming content tied to the mystery of Footlights Ranch. All this, and some preparations to say goodbye to President Donald J. This week on High-Dere, Ian and Joe decide to close out the year in style by jingling all the way through an episode of grab bag madness. They most certainly earned their way onto Santa’s naughty list. They kick things off with an apology to Tom Delonge after poking fun of Blink-182 while discussing UFO disclosure, a subject both are highly interested in. Joe provides a loose list of interesting topics to cover while Ian, per usual, does his best to keep up with the chaos. They question the legitimacy of the existence of Bigfoot, vaccine safety and the 2020 Election, while keeping their sites on self improvement, dealing with depression and what it means to be a hero. Then they wrap things up with a little bow with some ElfTree Media updates, the latest Olivia Mabel developments, Joe’s newest Songbird EP, how much Ian loves Taylor Swift and end it with with some top secret not secret audio obtained from the set of Mission Impossible. All this and more on this Krampus worthy chillfest of High-Dere. Things they’re combatting ultimately by doing things like updating the ElfTree Media site, getting Small Business Certification, putting out new music…all while surrounded with an ever changing medical, social and political climate; a perfect storm fitting for a year such as 2020.They also talk about survival instinct, fight or flight and physical defense beliefs in a time where info analysis by members of QAnon reveals shocking truths and lies about the world around us on an almost daily basis. This terrifying whirlwind is also combatted by self-awareness and busying ourselves with work that should hopefully bring us "All Together Now”All this and more on a typical 2020 episode of High-Dere.Song Credits:Happy Birthday! - Jazzy Piano Arrangement by Jonny MayAll Together Now - By Literally Me Right Now© Elf Tree Publishing (ASCAP)

This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe record live from the Wuhan wet market, I mean… Los Angeles, to deliver another action-packed episode, bringing you the latest on their quarantine lockdown. As the heavy hand of Covid-19 loosens it’s clammy grip on the world, we celebrate the new ElfTree Media Day with a company update! Our eyes “well with the tears of our past” as we dip into the lack of continuity and suspension of disbelief while Harry Potter and friends disappear, unnoticed by muggles on Platform 9 3/4.We marvel at the differences between the elegant elves of Lord of the Rings and the mischievous wizard slave House Elves in the Harry Potter series and how the death of Dobby brought Ian to his emotional knees. We touch base with Val Kilmer and dip into a grab bag of topics such as how Joe got his start in music, the Jay and Silent Bob reboot, creepy Bill Gates, the strange condition of getting older and the recent deaths of Fred Willard, Little Richard and Roy Horn. *FUN FACT - Roy Horn was attacked by his tiger on Ian’s birthday. Then, we scratch our heads because of Joe Biden’s middle name and if we think this bumbling hair sniffing politician will become the “official” DNC candidate in 2020. Joe shares an interesting conversation he has with a doctor who reveals some insight on the pandemic and possible hidden secrets behind the veil, including a possible sinister plan of high level Masons using the Bible as their guide to manipulate and control humanity. *Dun! This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe self quarantine and record their first ever remote show from their separate studios as the COVID-19 virus slithers it’s way into the United States. Advised by the authorities to “self-quarantine,” we test out what could be a new remote process for the show during these unknown and strange times. We question the news medias behavior, as we often do, of spreading fear among the masses as they cover this new strain of the Coronavirus and what we can do to stay aware of the bigger picture that could be playing out as we hide in our homes under our blankets. As the toilet paper and bread aisles leave us staring at empty shelves in grocery stores across the country, we do our best to understand what is unfolding right before our very eyes as the world comes to a historical halt. Then we discuss the primary numbers and where we expect this election season to go as the tide turns against Bernie Sanders and leans in favor of whispery “Creepy Uncle Joe” Biden. We remind our listeners of the coup that was attempted against Trump, revealed through the DNC leak, and try to make sense of the sinister chaos to come.Lastly we breeze past the JFK assassination and laws that were changed in the aftermath of his murder and how taxpayer money is funneled through the murky and dodgy justice department. We wish all of our listeners a safe and healthy quarantine as we continue to chase the light and expose the dark in this new reality together. We’re just two dudes in LA trying to make sense of what’s been happening and where we think things are going in this slow waking world we live in. On this month’s FaceLifted episode of High-Dere, Ian & Joe discuss death of the old and birth of the new; evolving lives, stories, entertainment and crimes that make up this crazy-ass world we exist in.Apparently Ian feels that to see his stolen stuff again would be akin to THE Disciples seeing Christ again after his death...or seeing Superman return to life after HIS death.  Crazy! Then we dive into the death of creative productivity due to technical software issues and how they completely wreak havoc on our emotions, much like the Pepsi Fire that wreaked havoc on Michael Jackson's hair. ;)We then hear about a BLOW-UP fight that happened between Ian & Joe and learn why High-Dere is important to them & why it’s crucial to have it stick around.THEN we look at the hypocrisy that exists between the widely praised J-Lo and Shakira headlined Super Bowl LIV halftime show and the hubbub created by the (tame by comparison) wardrobe malfunction involving Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake for Super Bowl XXXVIII.We wind down the show by talking about some incredibly interesting DocuSeries presented by Netflix.  Most of which deal with HEAVY topics like Murder, rage, the opioid crisis and Nazis.  Almost as fun as having to be the person who tells a sibling that their childhood hero died.  Yeah......And just as a reminder, keep your eyes open.  All people in power "Poke the Bear" in one way or another; they've all done it.  That's no reason for an entire half of the country to completely unravel just to defeat the other half of the counrty.  We're all in this together, right?  All this and more on this “Lucky-To-Be-Here” episode of High-Dere.PLUGS:If you’d like to host an intimate evening House Show with Joe “Songbird” Moralez in 2020, please visit songbirdofficial.com/house-show for more info!INVITEES:Trey Parker & Matt Stone (South Park creators), Louise & Lisa Burns (The Grady twins from The Shining) and Lana & Lilly Wachowski (The Matrix creators)MUSIC:“Waves” by Pictures of the Floating World“Seeing You Again” by Ketsa“Streets” by Yung Kartz“Multiverse” by Ketsa“Stars” by Yung Kartz“Canada” by Pictures of the Floating World“Lemon Lime” by BrevynLINKS:The Death and Return of Superman Graphic Novel Collectionhttps://elftree.co/doomsdaySuper Bowl LIV Halftime Show Backlashhttps://elftree.co/shakiraThe Pharmacisthttps://elftree.co/pharmacistThe Devil Next Doorhttps://elftree.co/devilnextdoorHenry Lee Lucas (The Confession Killer)https://elftree.co/henrylucasConversations with a Killerhttps://elftree.co/bundyPhilosophy Clip from The Greatest Skill of All Time by Alan Watts

First, they marvel at how the Great Pyramids were built all those years ago, leading them to wonder what our Pop-Up book style society would leave behind after we either die out or the west coast falls into the ocean because of “The Big One” earthquake. We’re certainly no Atlantis. Then we hear about Joe’s fascination with the mobsters who build Sin City and how the old Las Vegas courthouse, instrumental in acquitting all the founding “Godfathers” is now a museum celebrating the history Vegas has with the mob. This brings them to condoning the mentality of intolerance, and how slavery hasn’t really gone away in the US; it has simply become more sophisticated by being run by corporations, and having us as the slaves to the “Work” machine. Why should 1 or 2 people get to decide what is good for the masses that live here? And why on earth do we, as humans, charge ourselves to live on this planet? Solar flairs and cycles are approaching a Maunder Minimum, which might mean a 60% drop in Earth’s temperatures for about 11 years on or around 2030. After a brief performance of The Star Spangled Banner from Jimi Hendrix (© 1969 Woodstock) they move on to Comic Con, where we hear about Kevin Smith’s Yoga Hosers main villain, the Bratzi. A Sentient Nazi Bratwurst. And then they give their initial thoughts on the new Batman v. Superman trailer, including their reactions to Jesse Eisenberg’s casting as uber nemesis, Lex Luthor. They wrap it up with talk of a bad business decision from the co-founder of Domino’s Pizza and a stuffed zucchini. All this and more on a jam packed episode of High-Dere.

This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe clean their shits out and see where Ian’s first ever “Clean” show leads them! Ian is on Day 2 of the Ultimate Reset and he’s committed and loving it. We hear how Ian & Joe were dumb and went shopping for the meal plans on the day before one of the biggest cookout day’s of the year, the 4th of July. Then we talk about the meals being made, the physical (and intestinal) changes happening, and the cost of small items like Pine Nuts ($28/pound) and Seaweed ($13 for a 1oz bag?!?). 19 Days to go. Then they talk about ElfTree Podcast Network and how our shows are what we want to hear. Ian & Joe discuss topics that everyone discusses, but they also share them with the world. And that’s why Podcast Movement is going to be helpful for them. After some chatting about the difference between advice and perspective and a run down of some favorite board games, they close out the show so that Maddie can stop freaking out over fireworks. This week on High-Dere, come with Ian & Joe while they celebrate some progress, draw attention to money scams and hit the ultimate reset button on life, because let’s face it…#Lovewins…or at least it should. On June 26th, the Supreme Court of the United States voted to essentially legalize all marriage across the country. But the interesting part to Ian & Joe about the whole decision is the reasoning people give for why they’re against it. Today, Ian & Joe talk a lot about what it means to live in a world where Love should truly “Win” but people ultimately are too afraid to speak out against things that simply shouldn’t be. They issue a warning to everyone to use caution and not fall into traps of mentality due to popularity or how others will view you. They also talk about failing (and soon to fail) economies and how when grasping for money/power becomes anyone’s main focus, morals and love seem to be the first things to go. Did you know that parts of the US Prison System are traded on Nasdaq? It’s true. Doesn’t that make prisoners into “Commodities” rather than “People” who are in need of rehabilitation for their “actions”? Additionally, shouldn’t Ian & Joe have been able to see the exhibit on the Dead Sea Scrolls for free? They talk about how something so supposedly old and important to humanity shouldn’t be used as a tool for an association to make a buck. We should all be able to see these important things and contemplate what they mean and/or what they mean to us for FREE. And then to wrap things up, we hear about Ian & Joe’s upcoming journey to cleanse and reclaim their health, bodies and minds through Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset. This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe take flight over the proverbial hill toward planet Altair, and into a magical world full of beauty and antagonists of all kinds with author and lover of life, Elijah Schkeiban. After meeting in a coffee shop and randomly being introduced to Elijah’s fascinating David and Goliath tale, Ian & Joe had to have him on the show. They talk about Elijah's 1988 script-turned-2002-book, Bats & Butterflies, and the monstrous task he undertook when, in 2009, he began to suspect that his material had been infringed upon by 20th Century Fox and James Cameron through their production of the film Avatar. From his creative process and habits, to the disciplined and philosophical mind it takes to be a writer, and even touching on his royal Lebanese bloodline dating back to the 1100s, Elijah is someone who had many different experiences in his life, and it was a pleasure having him on this 40th episode of High-Dere.

This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe are joined by Shelby (and Martyn briefly in the beginning) to hear the archived tale of Ian’s first 24 hours, and first week in California. Many of our listeners will know by now that when Ian moved to LA in June, 2014, he woke up on his first morning to his Uhaul and (almost everything) he owned having been stolen overnight. Poof, just gone. This is the tale of a very different Ian's first week in LA, how he initially handled this potential trauma, and the initial steps toward what would eventually become the ElfTree Podcast Network. We close our our Dirty Thirties with some initial thoughts on the new medical culture and some future thoughts podcast plans. Joe has a few EPs being released in 2015 and Shelby is in town to do the photography and album artwork for each of the 3 titles. Hear about how they found the studio, gathered the costume elements, and conceptualized 3 covers that fit with the two already in existence. They praise Shelby’s photoshop skills, contemplate having a museum of AoS props, talk about the practicality of the spacesuit that was assembled, institute the "gold rule” and wonder who would be the most annoying housemate in the Full House house. This week on High-Dere, Joe isn’t feeling well so we unwrap an archived episode from the basement days of High-Dere and show you how new and green Ian & Joe were to podcasting. We open with an a-cappella demo of the theme song and jump right in with the executive decision to just use first names, our heroes review a strain of weed right off the bat. Then they dive into the world of Church and how it was to grow up in that world. Vomit Duck was born, which leads to a story of projectile puking in Ian’s car. We then hear how fresh everything was. Ian’s belongings had just been stolen, we had no websites yet, and we had a show that has now been packed away, We2D2. Hear why Ian & Joe decided to start podcasting, and why they think it’s worth diving into. And then we hear the backgrounds of our two hosts, including Joe’s discography, his musical history and the collaborators from his first album, 2009’s If I Could. Ironically we also ask how many episodes it’d be before we had Kevin Smith on a show. And if you think about it, it really only took 1. But as a LIVE guest on the show, we’re at 36 and counting... And, as usual, we hear them stumble for the first time toward the end, while they try and figure out their sign off. All on this week’s moth-ball smelling episode of High-Dere.

This week on High-Dere Ian & Joe marvel at the supernatural, the manipulation of people through marketing and needless birthday gifts. Do werewolves exist? Ask Lon Chaney Jr. That’s what our heroes begin this week’s show with. This leads them to ask about other mythical creatures and people who apparently don’t age, like Keanu Reeves and Nicolas Cage. What if the The Fast & The Furious was made in the 1940’s, but set in 2015? They remember that Mother’s Day just passed, which leads to a chat about what Ian thinks would really be appropriate plans for someone’s birthday. And then, we hear how manipulation starts and how teachers have to be strong willed and have themselves together. Or you could just be a rebel like Ian’s mum, and homeschool! And why does Marvel think that it can keep putting out movies that are so formulaic that they’re starting to blend together? Oh, that’s right, because marketing practically shoves it down our throats so that it’s the first thing that people think to do when they have any down time. They close it out by shouting out to Hurlbut Visuals for their Strategies in Filmmaking series. And did you know that people race their drones through the woods? Yeah, neither did we. This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe discuss how art is made, with the most honest of intentions. After starting the show with Maddie, they wonder how would be the most enjoyable way to demolish a building, given a blank check to do so. They talk about the documentary “The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?”, the bizarre notion of a Nicolas Cage Superman, and the Kevin Smith Q&A afterward. Then they move to people, and how generations have changed. People almost need someone now that has a Robin Hood complex, like Guy Fawkes. And where the hell did bullshit banking and ATM fees come from? Then Joe tells us about his weekend in the studio, tracking drums for some new Awake or Sleeping music with Jeff Peters, James Gabbie and Benjamin Rice at Pie Studios. He is amazed at the process of putting together a song, getting it recorded and produced, but he admits that he misses the camaraderie of playing together as a group and feeding off each other’s energies. The challenge now is promoting, which leads Ian to wonder why an artist should have to take on that role as well as his artist role. They then move into an improv session of the ElfTree Podcast Network Elevator Pitches, touch briefly on religious violence in Ian’s hometown, and then stumble into our 34th ending, while encouraging people to reach out and say hi! This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe find themselves in the observers seat of a few different kind of experiences, and tell you all about it! Joe finds himself the very passive observer of a tense text message string throughout the show! This leads our heroes to discuss the mis-interpretive nature of text messaging, and how people need to chill out! Joe then remember’s he hasn’t texted someone back in about 4 hours, prompting them to shout-out Lifehouse, Scott Stapp and Scott Speedman all at once. Then we hear about their experience reaching out, and demo’ing the Oculus Rift, courtesy of their friend Ben Worthen, who’s going to be on Episode 34. We hear how it felt to have a steering wheel that responded very well to the visuals seen inside the Oculus Rift. Shout out to Jeremy Clarkson at this point, while singing “Goodbye Horses” and some rendition of the angry text string is put to song as well. Jim Carrey’s twitter photo makes an appearance after a brief commercial. Then they wonder about the weather. Somehow, we hear them jump around to catholicism, a new show titled Um, Erica, Napoleon Dynamite, feeding Ian the complete works of William Shakespeare, Richard Simmons and Russell Simmons and working on an Oil Rig in the middle of the ocean. Flashback to the Toypedo pool toy! We hear Maddie fall asleep and it entertain the hell out of Ian. We hear one last set of the emotion filled text string before wrapping it up with an In-The-Car de-briefing of our immediate thoughts of the Oculus Rift from the night before. This week on High-Dere Ian & Joe check out, and they explore potential alternate realities with the Oculus Rift. How would they be able to handle an earthquake or California falling into the ocean through an Oculus Rift while dealing with perception vs. reality. The Oculus Rift is notorious for messing with your equilibrium. Ian & Joe come up with a plethora of different applications and situations on the fly, geared around Oculus Rift with no research or confirmation beforehand, so they have no idea if what they’re coming up with already exists. Go figure! Ian even pontificates about the future evolution of the technology, Geordi La Forge style. Would people supplement or replace our ability to actually see with our own eyes? Would people ever use Oculus Rift as a method of “traveling the world?” They come up with radical ideas for adventure co-op games within a virtual world set within adaptable environments. They also touch on the topics of Hotel demolition, holomapped advertising on the Grand Canyon vs. personal screensavers in Times Square, Dolly Parton, they find where Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is, why people insist on spoiling things like movie trailer releases, and Randy Quaid’s interesting rant. They back around to the Oculus Rift to talk about Trailers, Star Wars and imagine what the virtual world of Harry Potter would be like and how long until attending Hogwarts becomes a reality! That, along with an early Star Wars prediction from Ian and a rough merchandise idea from Joe, wait for you on this week’s episode of High-Dere!

This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe have technical problems right from the beginning. But then they prove that they do know what they’re doing, and now they wrap their mind around how baffling people can be! They start off by inviting Pierce Brosnan on the show. Then they wonder how places like Guitar Center, Fry’s and Micro Center are still around?!? Does anyone else remember Bawls? We do! SHOUT OUT!!! Then, very importantly, they invite Daft Punk to submit a cover of the High-Dere theme song! We would be so honored to be able to represent you at the head of every show! They imagine what it’d be like to have to say goodbye to your entire life in a proper way within 24 hours. Would it be easier for the one’s left behind who get to continue on with their familiarity? Or relationships, why can’t people just communicate, and help things flow in and out amicably? And why is there such animosity towards cops? A $400 arbitrary walking violation is why! And yet Joe was still trying to be conversational rather than confrontational. Aren’t police supposed to be there to keep the peace? Like at a peaceful protest? Like the Billion People March. SHOUT OUT!!! Much like their friend Shelby Cook (SHOUT OUT!!!) they have thrust themselves into a world of creativity, under their own steam, and it’s a trip! And that is what makes passions grow. They skip around the garden with Easter a little bit, wondering what it would be like if the story of Christ wasn’t a religious story, but just a story. How would it be interpreted? What if Jesus had a podcast? We ask the really important questions on High-Dere. Cards Against Humanity strategies get shared, and they discuss which half of their bodies they would want to get stuck in amber…all on this week’s episode of High-Dere.
