Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!Well, today on the podcast we are doing something a little bit different than we would usually do. Part of what I do beyond recording podcasts is coaching leaders through various exercises that help them to reach their goals without losing their souls. My friend Sidhara Udalagama was kind enough to let me facilitate one of these exercises for her called a Life Manifesto. A life manifesto is the exercise of prayer and thought to develop wording around how you want to live your one and only life. I thought that since we are approaching a new year when most of us typically evaluate and set goals for the next 365 days that this would be a great exercise to share with you. My friend Sid is an amazing speaker, creative and corporate consultant. Sid grew up in Sri Lanka but spent her adult years in England working in full time ministry after graduating with an MSc in Occupational Psychology.  Sid is currently working with Compassion Australia which is a fantastic organisation and you will hear more about her work shortly.Sid is passionate about people fulfilling their God given potential in this world and becoming all that they were created to be. Both her roles in the church and corporate world enable her to outwork this passion. She is a powerful and gifted communicator of God's Word and loves that the Bible has the power to change lives.Sidhara is married to her husband Dev and enjoys eating, traveling the world and repeating those two things... preferably together.Contact Jason:hello@jasonperkoperkins.comInstagram: @jasonperkoperkinsTwitter: @perkosplaceFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jasonperkoperkins/https://linktr.ee/jasonperkoperkinsIf you like what you hear, feel free to share this episode with a friend! Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!Today on the podcast is someone that I greatly admire, who has helped shape me, and really has been a foundational part of the reason I started this podcast. My guest today is the Soul Care legend himself, Pete Scazzero. I first came across Pete's work through his book the Emotionally Healthy Leader.  Since then I have been through the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality and Relationships content, I've been a part of some leadership cohorts with Pete and ultimately it has shaped much of my experience in this area of Soul Care. When I first came across his work, I was very unhealthy emotionally and although I am still a novice in this space God has used it to literally transform my life.  Well for those of you who are not as familiar with Pete Scazzero let me introduce him to you.Pete lead New Life Fellowship Church for 26 years in Queens NY where they are still members. He also co-founded Emotionally Healthy Discipleship, which is a phenomenal program that I highly recommend. Emotionally Healthy Discipleship is a groundbreaking ministry that moves the church forward by slowing the church down in order to multiply deeply changed leaders and disciples.Pete hosts the top-ranked Emotionally Healthy Leader podcast and is the author of a number of bestselling books, including The Emotionally Healthy Leader and Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Pete and his wife Geri also developed The Emotionally Healthy Discipleship Course (Part 1 and 2), a powerful resource that moves people from a shallow to a deep relationship with Jesus.    I hope you enjoy this conversation with my friend, Pete Scazzero…More From Pete:www.emotionallyhealthy.orgemail: info@emotionallyhealthy.orgInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/petescazzero/Twitter: https://twitter.com/petescazzeroFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/petescazzeroPodcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-emotionally-healthy-leader-podcast/id1064966935NEW Book: Emotionally Healthy DiscipleshipContact Jason:hello@jasonperkoperkins.comInstagram: @jasonperkoperkinsTwitter: @perkosplaceFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jasonperkoperkins/https://linktr.ee/jasonperkoperkinsIf you like what you hear, feel free to share this episode with a friend! Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!Today on the podcast I am having a very encouraging conversation with my good friend, Peter Thomas, who is the director of Capernwray Australia. Let me share a little bit of who Peter is...Having grown up at Capernwray Hall (Torchbearers), England, Peter trained as a school teacher and taught in North Wales before joining staff at Capernwray Hall and then not long after joined staff with Capernwray in New Zealand. After 25 years leading the ministry in NZ he and his wife Elizabeth to Australia at the end of 2013 to lead the Capernwray Australia work based near Moss Vale, NSW. They have two children now grown up – Callum (who is married to Jazlyn) and Alexandra (a trainee nurse) – both love the Lord and serve in ministry in various ways.As well as his education degree, Peter has a Bachelor of Divinity and a Master of Theological Studies degree and preaches and speaks in a number of churches and conferences, as well as his main responsibility as National Director for Capernwray Australia and Principal of the Bible School.Peter is on the Board of MECO (Middle East Christian Outreach) Australia and has a deep interest in the history and current issues happening in the Middle East. His passion is teaching the timeless truths of Christ's life through the Word of God and relating that teaching to the everyday world. He is still keen on all sports and used to play soccer, and squash to a reasonable standard – he says the older he gets the better he was! He loves books and reads widely (both Christian and non-Christian material). Another obsession is coffee and his typical day starts with a personally ground and brewed espresso coffee.Contact Jason:hello@jasonperkoperkins.comInstagram: @jasonperkoperkinsTwitter: @perkosplaceFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jasonperkoperkins/https://linktr.ee/jasonperkoperkinsIf you like what you hear, feel free to share this episode with a friend! Let me re-introduce you as we continue out conversation...Rachel Faulkner Brown is a girl with a past like your worst nightmare and a present that is pretty darn fun. She has lived through losing two husbands tragically in an instant, one to an aneurysm and one in an Air Force plane crash. She loves marriage so much that she took a chance on it again and married the most interesting man in the world who is their rock and secret weapon on most days. Her favorite jobs are being a wife, and being a mom to her two teenagers, Davis and Campbell. Her role as a mom is the hardest most rewarding thing she's have ever done or will do.Rachel loves ministering to women. Whether she's on the road speaking, writing bible studies, or creating healing retreats for widows, she just loves the younger version of the girl she once was. She loves freedom more than anything else on earth and finds herself saying at least once a day..it is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. She really wants to be your friend and she would love to take you bargain shopping and walk out of a store in a new outfit that cost you less than a cup of fancy coffee. Welcome back to Perko's Podcast! Here we want to help you reach your personal and professional goals without losing your soul. Our goal is to have the next generation of leaders reach their goals and at the same time say, "it is well with my soul."Today's podcast is part two of my conversation with my good friend Fran Lamatinna. Fran is the President and Founder of Strategies for Greatness, an executive coaching practice that serves leaders of organizations and work teams to be more effective. Fran has been coaching since 1999, achieving her Master Coach Certification (MCC) and Board Certified Coach designation (BCC) in the early days of the profession. Recently, Fran completed a Doctorate in Professional Coaching and Human Development (PhD). She has established a niche with organizational leaders, especially in the areas of strategic planning, team effectiveness, assessments, and emotional intelligence.Fran draws from over 20 years of business experience in the areas of marketing, sales/business development, finance, technology, operations and organizational development prior to entering the coaching profession. She founded and developed the women's ministry at North Point Community Church in Atlanta Georgia under the leadership of Andy Stanley for 12 years, and she has been an active member and officer on the boards of many organisations. If you missed last week's episode make sure that you go back to listen to it as Fran and I discussed a basic overview of the DiSC personality assessment tool and how tools like this one can really help teams work together more effectively. Today we take a deeper dive into the DiSC profiles and look at how they manage conflict. Managing conflict is a vital part of leadership and reaching our goals, so I think this conversation will be incredibly helpful. Stick around to the end because Fran also takes a look at how our personalities impact our soul care. You don't want to miss that part it is especially rich in content!Contact Fran:Email: fran@strategiesforgreatness.comContact Jason:hello@jasonperkoperkins.comInstagram: @jasonperkoperkinsTwitter: @perkosplaceFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jasonperkoperkins/https://linktr.ee/jasonperkoperkinsIf you like what you hear, feel free to share this episode with a friend!
