Welcome to part 4 of the How To Heal series. In this episode about radical listening, you'll learn strategies for listening more carefully and trusting your intuition and inner wisdom so that you can build a better relationship with your core self. You'll Learn:How to practice radical listening with compassion The 4 parts within you that you are listening toExamples of patterns that might not be serving you5 steps to radical listening and a deeper understanding of yourselfThe closer you move to your authentic, core self, the more content you will feel. This truest version of you feels peace no matter what is happening. -------------------------------------Healing is really about wanting to feel better. To feel freedom, joy, gratitude, peace, safety, and calm. To be kinder to yourself, become a good friend to yourself, notice your patterns, and make small changes to influence them. Those are our goals here.As my mentor, Martha Beck, says, “Your true nature, the part of you that always remembers what it is meant to be and never stops trying to be what it is, no matter what happens to her. Your birthright is to feel peace and joy and gratitude and love. And in your core, you carry all of that.” Radical ListeningThe goal of radical listening is to find your inner guidance to move away from the patterns that you've created to protect you from pain and toward new patterns that help you get what you actually want. We all have patterns in ways that we think, feel, and act. We need to look at them and ask ourselves where they're coming from. Are you trying to avoid pain? Are these patterns protecting you, or are they sabotaging you because you don't think you're worthy of feeling freedom, love, peace, and joy? The statements we're working with as we learn to radically listen are:I will listen to my needs and wants and see those as valid and important.I will listen to my intuition and trust my inner wisdom. Who Are You Listening To?When you practice radical listening, you are having a conversation with yourself. But who are you talking to? In his book No Bad Parts, Richard Schwartz outlines four parts that live within each of us: Your Inner ChildYou may have wounds or patterns that you developed in childhood. These were really important to you as a kid, but they might not be necessary now. These wounds are often based on attachment or authenticity. Perhaps you were conditioned in childhood to believe that you don't matter or that your needs aren't important. Or your need for security and attachment wasn't met, so you didn't feel safe. You may have been told all sorts of negative things about yourself. Or you were taught that you had to look or perform a certain way in order to be loved, valued, and accepted. For example, I grew up in a household where it often felt like there wasn't a grown up. As a result, I developed patterns of hypervigilance, overthinking, overplanning, overstructuring, and then getting easily dysregulated when things weren't going to my plan. Now that I am the adult, I've had to teach myself (and my inner child) that I am safe. The grown-ups are here. Were you taught that your value depended on your grades, performance in sports, or how nice you were? Did you hear that you were dumb, ugly, mean, selfish, lazy, rude, or a problem? What messages did you hear in childhood that you might still be acting out today? Maybe it's time to look at those messages and examine them. Where's the evidence? Your PainOur wounds and patterns can also come from culture - religion,...
What if healing after trauma wasn't just about survival—but about creativity, reclamation, and transformation? Today's guest, Marlee Liss, is living proof that healing can look radically different than what we've been taught. After experiencing sexual violence, she was thrown into the justice system and quickly realized something: the traditional punitive approach wasn't leading to healing—it was retraumatizing. So, she did something groundbreaking.Marlee became the first person in North America to advocate for and successfully secure a court-ordered restorative justice process, requiring her assailant to undergo mandated therapy instead of incarceration. Through this process, she proved that true justice isn't always about punishment—it can be about deep, lasting accountability, healing, and even transformation. This is the second episode in my series on using creativity to change the world—because creativity isn't just for art. It's for how we think, how we heal, and how we rebuild broken systems.✨ From this conversation, you'll learn:The radical question that changed everything for Marlee—and how it can change your life, tooWhy the justice system often fails survivors—and what a real, healing alternative looks likeHow creativity can be used to solve even the world's toughest problemsThe surprising key to true healing: reclaiming joy, pleasure, and personal freedom-Remember to subscribe/follow the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. Today's episode is the start of the How To Heal series here on the podcast. We're starting with the foundation of it all - radical self love. A person who experiences self love and demonstrates self compassion has less depression, less anxiety, less stress, and less shame. Isn't that what we all want? You'll Learn:A mantra to help you practice radical self loveHow insecurity shows up for me and how I return to my core self4 tools to deepen your self loveRadical self love is the foundation of healing. It is vital. It is a gift that you give to yourself. You are entitled to loving yourself and feeling good about yourself, and I want that for you so much. ------------------------------------------This is such an important topic that I've had a lot of feelings come up as I get ready to share this with you - tenderness, insecurity, and impostor syndrome (just to name a few). But the truth is, I'm not trying to solve all of the world's emotional pain problems. I'm creating this series to share with you my own journey of healing from trauma, uncertainty, and difficult experiences and the things that have been fundamental to me on that journey. Over the course of this series, I'll help you to:Become kinder to yourselfMake friends with your thoughts, feelings, and behaviorsNotice the patterns or strategies that don't work for you anymoreMake small changes that influence those patternsThis isn't about making a huge overhaul of your life. It's about picking one or two patterns in your life that you want to get curious about and explore…and loving yourself all along the way. Radical Self LoveRadical self love is the foundation of healing. It is vital. It is a gift that you give to yourself. You are entitled to loving yourself and feeling good about yourself, and I want that for you so much. Repeat after me: I unconditionally love and accept all the parts of me, no matter how I think, feel, or act.Write this statement down, put it somewhere you'll see it often, and practice saying it to yourself throughout the week. Then, I challenge you to practice self love through connection and compassion (sound familiar?). Step 1: Recognize the worth of your core selfAt your core - your essence, your soul, the divinity that lives within you - you are good. You are worthy of love. You are lovable, and you are good enough exactly as you are.Think of a newborn baby. Think of how deserving it is of love and care. There are no expectations of the baby. It doesn't have to prove anything. It doesn't owe anybody anything. It's just this love being. You have that same pure soul inside of you. There is an essence to you that is pure and loving and good. It is worthy of love. It is worthy of being cared for and treated kindly. Step 2: Connect to your core selfUnfortunately, we don't always live in connection to our core self. We have subconscious thoughts and behaviors. Our environment influences how we think, feel, and act (e.g. parents, teachers, peers, religion, childhood experiences, etc.). Sometimes we lose our connection to that core self, and we start using strategies that we think will either help us get better or help protect us. And these strategies aren't always very loving to ourselves or others. Our thoughts become ruled by our inner critic. Feelings come up that we don't know what to do with - like anger, hurt, or resentment. We use strategies to soothe, protect, or punish ourselves. You might recognize these as people pleasing, yelling at your kids, overthinking, drinking too much, overworking, buying new things,...

In a world that constantly promotes instant gratification and success, many of us find ourselves chasing happiness. Whether it's through career achievements, material possessions, or social approval, we've been conditioned to believe that happiness is the ultimate goal. But here's the thing—happiness is fleeting. It comes and goes based on external circumstances. That's why we often feel like we need to keep reaching for the next thing, never truly satisfied. The reason we chase happiness is that we confuse it with contentment. Happiness is an emotion, sparked by a particular event or accomplishment. On the other hand, contentment is a state of being, grounded in peace with where we are and what we have—without giving up the drive for growth. However, one of the fears of pursuing contentment is falling into complacency, the trap of becoming stagnant and losing the desire to push ourselves forward. But true contentment doesn't mean giving up on ambition or settling. It means balancing gratitude for where you are while still striving for more. ___________________________________________________________ Experience the Future of Health with Mission Med+ Experience Virtual Regenerative Medicine, dedicated to optimizing your health with Mission Med+. Focus, Discipline, and the Power of Choice We all have the same 24 hours in a day, but how we use that time varies depending on our priorities, responsibilities, and tasks ahead. Whether you're a CEO, parent, business owner, or juggling it all, your focus is the compass guiding your productivity. True focus isn't passive; it's an active, deliberate effort. It requires consistency, discipline, and a clear vision of your goals. In a world of constant distractions—emails, social media, and notifications—it's easy to lose focus. But remember, scattered attention leads to diluted efforts, making even the most ambitious goals seem out of reach. Starting at day one is something we all experience, but in today's society, we often forget that. With the constant influx of comparison and the paralysis of fear, it's easy to lose sight of the importance of beginning, especially when faced with fear, anxiety, and imposter syndrome. Fear is built into our biology to keep us alive and safe, but when it creeps into the wrong areas of our lives, it hinders us from taking action or putting ourselves out there. Many people look at day one expecting the final success chapter, but that's not how life works. Often, people either have an oversized ego or an unhealthy one. An unhealthy ego is full of pride, fear, entitlement, and comfort. A healthy ego says, "I can achieve excellence, I can pursue greatness, and I am worthy of success no matter the cost." There is a cost and payoff to everything in life. The cost of not starting is an unlived life of fear, weakness, and unfulfilled potential. Potential is the capacity to develop into something in the future; qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness. This episode in the continuing series on How To Heal explores the sometimes complicat4ed process of hiring a competent therapist to aid in addressing mental health issues.
It took me years, but I am now confident in the things I'm not good at. When you don't own your weaknesses, something else takes ownership over you. For 30 years, I believed I wasn't smart, lovable, or worthy. I was strong in all the wrong areas, like people-pleasing, self-isolation, and suppressing emotions. These weaknesses tricked me into thinking I was a good person, but I was actually enabling harmful behaviors. Accepting my weaknesses as weaknesses was the turning point. I was a high-achieving, people-pleasing, co-dependent woman who thrived in chaos and pain. Pretending your weaknesses aren't there or masking them only weighs you down. It's hard not to live up to your potential because you're afraid to take the first step and look foolish. Reality check: we were all once beginners. I mess up all the time, especially with numbers and reading things backward. When we focus too much on our weaknesses, our strengths also become weak. My weaknesses no longer stop me because I own them. I learn, I grind it out, and I don't harbor resentment or insecurity. Not taking action because of your weaknesses won't get you anywhere. You need to exercise taking action when you're afraid, and that means being courageous, authentic, and committed to something more. I built the strength to say no confidently by facing my fear daily. Over the years, I learned to love saying no because I have alignment, purpose, and confidence in my weaknesses. If you're paralyzed by fear, you'll find yourself in the same place a year from now, which is a major cause of depression and anxiety today. I continually work on tackling my weaknesses and say yes to moving forward despite fear. Embracing your weaknesses is about recognizing them, understanding their impact, and taking action to transform them into strengths. Every small step forward, even in the face of fear, is progress. True strength lies in owning every part of who you are. However, these wounds can also become sources of immense strength and insight. Healing isn't easy, and it takes a lot of strength—the right kind of strength. I used to be strong in all the wrong ways, tolerating abuse and being a people-pleaser. True strength comes from being authentic and courageous. In this episode, I'll talk about the importance of recognizing our wounds and how they shape our identities. It's about letting go of survival tactics and becoming our true selves in order to shift that into wisdom. I know that many people get stuck on their healing journey because of fear and old habits. "Transforming Pain: Wounds into Wisdom" is here to help you break free from those patterns. I'll share stories, insights, and practical tips to help you embrace your pain and turn it into wisdom. rue discipline is rooted in consistency and flexibility. Life is unpredictable, and when I am rigid in my thinking, behavior, and emotions, I stifle my growth. Adapting to new circumstances, scaling down when needed, and changing my approach are crucial for maintaining discipline. I focus on setting realistic, manageable goals that allow for consistent progress. I aim low, hit it, and keep building. This approach has taught me to view setbacks as feedback rather than failures. Great things aren't built overnight; they take time and adaptability. High expectations on an inflexible foundation will always crumble. My journey has been about learning to adapt to cope and ultimately thrive. I used to adapt to abuse, high stress, and what others expected of me, leading to burnout and self-sabotage. Now, I teach the importance of adaptability for mental health and sustainable success. It's about adjusting to the right things and avoiding black-and-white thinking. As Max McKeown said, "Adaptability is about the powerful difference between adapting to cope and adapting to win. In this episode, I dive into the nitty-gritty of self-trust, which is so crucial for personal growth and well-being. Trusting yourself means having confidence in your abilities, judgments, and decisions. But let's be real, why is it often so tough to trust ourselves? What behaviors are secretly undermining our confidence and integrity? I'll unpack the foundations of self-trust, like self-reliance, self-integrity, self-honesty, self-compassion, and self-confidence. These are the building blocks that help you trust yourself more deeply. I'll get into the common culprits that destroy self-trust: self-sabotage, perfectionism, seeking external validation, neglecting self-care, negative self-talk, and ignoring your intuition. These behaviors can really erode your sense of self-worth and make it hard to trust your own judgment. I'll also touch on factors that influence self-trust, such as fear of failure or rejection, low self-esteem, and past trauma. These issues can create barriers that make trusting yourself feel like a daunting task. To help you rebuild self-trust, I'll share practical strategies like practicing self-awareness and reflection, setting realistic goals, staying consistent in your actions, using positive self-talk, setting boundaries, seeking therapy, developing accountability practices, fostering a growth mindset, and integrating gratitude into your daily routine. This episode is all about empowering you to take actionable steps toward a more authentic and fulfilling life. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Experience the Future of Health with Mission Med+ Experience Virtual Regenerative Medicine, dedicated to optimizing your health with Mission Med+. Our 4 part series on How To Heal with Anxiety starts here, with Love. With some help from conventional sources, the metaphysical practitioner on our team, V.S., and my own experiences with anxiety and healing, I'm setting the stage for us to look at basic anxiety “disorders” and to move toward healing measures. You will see yourself, and/or your loved ones and the world at large in this list of anxieties types.NAMING struggles is an important part of healing, and… I'm encouraging us to NOT OVER-IDENTIFY WITH LABELS. Especially when we're talking about anxiety disorders.I prefer to say, “imbalances” over “disorders.” And “natural” over “normal”––because we could argue over what's normal in a world that's flailing and waking up. But the heart and the nervous system know what's natural. This episode (number 102) is thorough. We're covering a lot of ground and then the following 3 episodes will get lighter (kind of.) The foundation looks like:Types of anxiety disorders, as outlined by the National Institute of Mental Health.Physical, psychological AND metaphysical explanations of anxiety imbalancesThe relationship between your nervous system and anxiety healingThe distinction between anxiety and panic. They are quiet different.Definitions of our energy bodies (Etheric Body, Astral Body, Mental Body.)24 causes of anxiety that you'll probably relate to.6 ways to dissolve anxiety that are physical, simple and immediate. What IS the vagus nerve and why is loving on it so important to our wellness? Then we open the conversation to spiritual resilience and more meta-physical ways to heal with anxietySAVE THE DATE: This is all leading up to Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 12 PT | 3pm ET, for a live class, HOW TO HEAL FOR REAL. Mark it in your cal to attend live if you can.Anxiety is stirring in our collective and individual psyches. We're still recovering from the global health bootcamp that started four years ago, and with raging wars and buckling economies… we might be… frayed. Naturally. Anxiety and all of it's presentations aren't a permanent condition. It's our unhealed content asking for attention. Anxiety is Resilience + Compassion training. I have had the wonderful opportunity to interview RJ Spina several times and each time it gets better and better. This time we just wanted to talk and thought it would be a cool idea to record our conversation RJ Spina has devoted his adult life to teaching people how to raise their frequency, improve the quality of their life, heal themselves, and experience the blissful state of truly being free. He'd spent the better part of his life exploring profound metaphysical truths through his own higher consciousness exploration, but it was waking up from emergency life-saving surgery still permanently paralyzed from chest-down paralysis that awakened him to the highest truth he'd ever encountered: he could heal himself and walk again. It was something that he instantaneously knew. And he knew how he would do it. "My body was destroyed, but I was free. It was as if my old operating system of awareness had been replaced with a greatly enhanced model with far greater receptivity, bandwidth, and processing ability. I knew immediately and precisely how I would heal myself. I was in a state of Grace and cosmic consciousness. I was truly free. " Within two months RJ was walking with the help of a physical therapist. On the one hundredth day after surgery, just as he had originally predicted on the very first day after emergency life-saving surgery, he was walking on his own. All the conditions he'd been diagnosed with—diabetes, pancreatitis, Hashimoto's disease, hypothyroidism, and a syndrome called autonomic dysreflexia—had been resolved. RJ has helped countless people. He has written dozens of articles about consciousness, the Greater Reality, meditation, the ability to project one's consciousness, and the nature of the Self. He teaches meditation, self-realization, self-healing, and how to become a healer to seekers around the world. RJ is holding an even on February 23rd and 24th called the freedom workshop. You can find out more on his website. His website is https://www.ascendthefrequencies.com, You can purchase a new copy of his book change your mind which is available here https://www.amazon.com/Change-Your-Mind-Deprogram-Subconscious-ebook/dp/B0BGCVDHFL/ The Ascend the Frequencies Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/ascendthefrequencies12/) has more than twenty thousand followers.

I have had the wonderful opportunity to interview RJ Spina several times and each time it gets better and better. Now with a new book we talk about the secret science of reprogramming the subconscious mind. RJ Spina has devoted his adult life to teaching people how to raise their frequency, improve the quality of their life, heal themselves, and experience the blissful state of truly being free. You can purchase a new copy of his book change your mind which is available August 8th here https://www.amazon.com/Change-Your-Mind-Deprogram-Subconscious-ebook/dp/B0BGCVDHFL/ His website is https://www.ascendthefrequencies.com, and The Ascend the Frequencies Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/ascendthefrequencies12/) has more than twenty thousand followers.

Metaphysical Healing is a short work by the healer, mystic, and educator Joel S. Goldsmith. It explores the true nature of self as an infinite spiritual consciousness that brings forth health, peace, and joy. Goldsmith was born in 1892 in New York City. His experiences as a Marine in World War I, and the great suffering and pain he observed on his business travels led him to ask fundamental questions about humanity and God. He began a course of inquiry, searching for universal truth. As a spiritual scholar, he studied writings from ancient Greek, Sanskrit, and Aramaic cultures. On a return trip from Europe in the 1920s, Goldsmith developed pneumonia. A Christian Science practitioner who was on board ship with him was able to heal him of this illness. He soon found, after his recovery, that he too had a healing gift. Strangers began to approach him, requesting relief and prayers. While Goldsmith had no religious training, he is said to have healed many of these people. Still looking for answers to his spiritual questions, he joined the Christian Science Church, where he remained for 16 years. In 1945, he left the church, as he felt that organized religion was a hindrance rather than a help to spiritual growth. After leaving the church, he began to write, espousing his own philosophy on the nature of humanity and God. His pamphlet, Metaphysical Healing, was one of his earlier works. This short guidebook explains that truth is to be found within, not without. Rather than turning to an external God, Goldsmith proclaims that, "The truth is that God is the Mind and Life of the individual. God is the only 'I'. When we understand this, we can transcend the limitations that we have placed on our minds and spirits. Music By Mettaverse Music
