Our culture these days is obsessed with identity — how we define ourselves, express ourselves, and justify our choices. But sometimes what sounds like freedom, “God made me this way," is actually a lie that keeps us from living the way He designed us... to glorify Him. Join Heidi Lee Anderson as she sits down with Amy Davison, co-host of the @MamaBearApologetics Podcast, to talk about how this subtle cultural lie is a dangerous one! Not only does Amy share her own story, but she also breaks down why identity is one of the biggest battlegrounds in today's culture and how to lovingly engage others who might see things differently. Together, let's unpack how Christians can root their identity (and their kid's identity) in Christ—not in their preferences, feelings, or desires. Whether you're a parent, pastor, or someone wrestling with purpose, let's look beyond “who I am” and rediscover Whose you are.
Ever feel like you're living in a world you just can't relate to anymore? Where prayer has been traded for good vibes, what's wrong is celebrated as if it's right, “live your truth” has replaced the truth, and “follow your heart” gets louder applause than following Jesus? Join me as I sit down with Marian Jordan Ellis, author of the new Lifeway Women's study Anchored, to expose the tricky lie of “I just can't relate to this world anymore,” and instead of a bad thing, we'll find how it's not only a very good thing, but it's the very place God positioned us on purpose to shine bright for Him. All in all, if you've ever felt like a spiritual fish out of water — this one's for you. Together, let's step forward into the truth that we're not alone, our God's not irrelevant, and we're definitely not without purpose in this post-Christian world. Don't forget to share or leave a review about this episode to be entered to win her new study studying the letters of Peter, Anchored!
Heidi Lee Anderson - author of “P.S. It's Gonna Be Good” - is sharing about her new devotional “All in, All Yours.” Heidi is no stranger to difficulties in life having overcome cancer and many other obstacles. In this episode, Haley Klockenga and Heidi talk about finding strength in who God is and pull from different stories in the Bible. Heidi declares truth and promises from God over each listener. How can we preach a gospel of peace, yet still find our bodies wracked by anxiety? On the flip side, how do we call our bodies temples of the Holy Spirit, yet regard eating, exercise, or sleep as inherently "unspiritual" activities? Join me and my sister as we hear from Justin Whitmel Earley, best-selling author The Common Rule and Habits of a Household, challenging the common misconception that habits are just physical or only spiritual. They're both—physical and spiritual—and together, let's find how our habits intertwine, the neuroscience behind them, and which ones we should focus on. Don't forget to share or leave a review about this episode for a chance to win his upcoming book, The Body Teaches The Soul! You'll hear: The myth: "Habits are either physical or spiritual" Embracing habits that nurture both body and soul Navigating fear and harnessing the power of our minds Balancing lament and hope in the face of illness Cultivating godly habits in parenting
When bad things come, what you prayed for didn't happen, and God feels silent, distant, or even unfair… what do you do? Today, we're tackling one of the hardest lies to untangle: “God isn't faithful, trustworthy, or good when ‘bad' things happen to us.” Join me as I chat with best-selling author Gabrielle Meyer, creator of the beloved Timeless series, to trade this lie for a truth that will steady your heart no matter the season: Even when circumstances shift, God's character never does. The highlights: How a writing mentor taught her to build stories around lies and truth Gabrielle shares the story behind her Timeless series — how fiction can reveal deep spiritual truths The spiritual heartbeat behind her upcoming release, Through Each Tomorrow (Book #6!) Personal moments in her own journey when God met her in hardship and proved His faithfulness Practical ways to cling to truth when emotions say otherwise Oh, and don't forget to share this episode or leave a review about it to win a copy of her book, Every Hour until Then! 2 winners will be announced on my podcast's Instagram page: www.instagram.com/tradealieforatruth __________________________________________________________
Ever felt like deep Bible study is only for pastors, church leaders, Christian influencers, or scholars full of commentaries and Hebrew concordances? I mean, they have degrees in that stuff. They're trained in theology. They just GET the Bible in a way ordinary Christians don't. But... me? I'm just normal. I love Jesus and I believe the Bible is God's very Word that I respect and honor, but I didn't go to seminary, I'm not bilingual, and I wouldn't even know where to start. Join Kristin Nave and podcast host Heidi Lee Anderson to dismantle the lie that deep Bible study is just for experts. They share honest stories, relatable struggles, and practical ways to approach Scripture--with or without a seminary degree. You'll hear: Why Bible study is for every believer—not just the “professionals” Deep study doesn't always mean complex methods Highlighting and journaling can enhance Bible study The role community plays in understanding Scripture Simple, doable tips for studying the Bible with confidence How God's mercy meets us right where we are—not where we think we “should” be Kristin reminds us that God's Word was never meant to be locked behind titles, training, or theology degrees. This episode is a gentle but powerful invitation to open your Bible with curiosity, freedom, and expectation. Whether you're brand new to Scripture or returning after feeling disqualified, this conversation will remind you: you are invited to the table. Ever been told to “look within” to discover who you really are? Maybe it came in the form of self-help advice, motivational quotes, or even well-meaning encouragement. But here's the problem: when we look inward for identity, we buy into the very lie keeping us lost. On this episode of Trade a Lie for a Truth, join Heidi Lee Anderson and Alena Pitts Franklin (actress, vocalist, and author of the devotional God Is) to uncover together the cultural lie that identity starts within... and exchange it for the life-giving truth: before we can know who we are, we must first know who God is. ✨ What you'll discover in this episode: ➖Why the “search within” advice always leaves us empty ➖How Alena personally wrestled with identity and found freedom in Christ ➖The role honesty plays in reshaping our view of God and ourselves ➖How God's unchanging character transforms our perspective on purpose, talents, and even past mistakes
Ever picked up the Bible and thought, “Agh, this is so dry”? You try to read, but the words don't seem to connect, some parts are confusing, and discouragement creeps in. Why (and how) does it come alive for others? You're not alone. Join this conversation with Gretchen Saffles, founder of Well-Watered Women, as we tackle this lie that “the Bible is dry.” We'll talk about the claim from unbelievers that Scripture is outdated or dull, and also for believers, who truly long to know God's Word, Gretchen gives her tangible, practical, go-to tools that can help you stay engaged when the struggle is real. Together, let's trade the lie for the truth: God's Word isn't dull, uninteresting, irrelevant, but alive, active, rich, and full of life. Listen in to discover encouragement, practical wisdom, and renewed hope for opening your Bible with fresh eyes. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why we sometimes feel like Scripture is dry How to approach God's Word when you're in a spiritually dry season The truth about the Bible as living and active Encouragement to engage with Scripture in a fresh, life-giving way Connect more with Gretchen: https://www.gretchensaffles.com Instagram: www.instagram.com/gretchensaffles and www.instagram.com/wellwateredwomen Gretchen's Book, Word Before World: https://rstyle.me/+fF6YDgGkSswD5-eb9lGFCg Heidi''s Book, All In, All Yours: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/allinallyours Heidi's Instagram: www.instagram.com/heidileeanderson Further resources: https://heidileeandersonministries.com Share to win a copy of her newest devotional, Word Before World (then comment shared when done)! You know those warnings that go off in our mind? “You better prepare for the worst.” “You can't trust people — you've been hurt before.” “God might not come through this time.” “Play it safe. Don't risk it.” It sounds like wisdom. It feels like caution. But underneath, it's fear. And fear is not the fruit of a good counselor — it's the evidence of a liar. Scripture tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7 that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and a sound mind. That means anytime fear is steering the ship, God isn't the one driving. The enemy loves to masquerade as someone looking out for you. He'll disguise fear as foresight. He'll present anxiety as “being realistic.” But he's not protecting you — he's paralyzing you. Why? Because fear shrinks your faith. It keeps you stuck. It puts you in self-preservation mode instead of God-trust mode. So today, how about you join Susie Larson and me in trading that lie — the enemy's warnings are worth listening to — for this truth: God alone gives wise counsel, and His perfect love casts out fear? Susie Larson is a bestselling author, national speaker, and host of the popular radio show Susie Larson Live, and her book, Closer Than Your Next Breath was a finalist for the ECPA book of the year in 2024. Ever feel like life just keeps knocking you down? No matter how hard you fight, no matter how much you pray, you just can't seem to win? Have you ever wondered why the battles feel so constant, or caught yourself thinking, ‘I'll never get past this struggle'? Maybe you've questioned if you'll ever feel strong or free again. But what if defeat isn't your story at all? What if it's just the enemy's script—and God has already written a different one? Today, we're trading the lie of ‘I feel defeated' for the truth: ‘I am victorious in Christ.' Join me in this episode of my podcast Trade a Lie for a Truth, as I open up about my personal journey as a cancer survivor and emphasize the importance of recognizing our giants against the scope of our great God. Ultimately, I talk about how God helped me overcome this giant of fear and ultimately, why He allows trials in the first place. Together, let's actively seize the abundant life promised in Christ and move forward in His victory. Takeaways: Life can feel overwhelming, but as Christians, defeat isn't our story. We think thousands of thoughts daily, many are negative, but we can trade them for the truth. Every trial is a test of faith, set up for our victory. God's promises are fulfilled in Christ, and it's time to live in them. We cannot wait for problems to disappear to find happiness. Jesus offers the free, abundant life in Him today. Possession of God's promises requires action and faith. Have you ever believed the lie that it's too late? Too late to change careers, too late to repair a relationship, too late to step into your calling, or too late even to return to God? The enemy loves to whisper, “You've missed your chance. The door is closed. The opportunity wasted. It's all downhill from here. Your story is over.” Good news: the Word of God tells us something very different. Join me as I chat with Sarah Molitor @modernfarmhousefamily, who opens up about a time she took a big risk and in turn, fell behind compared to friends... and what came of that.

Let Your “Yes” Mean “Yes” and “No” Mean “No“. What is Jesus Telling Us! Let your Yes mean Yes, and your No mean No. A simple statement by Our Lord Jesus. But, as we may know, this is hard for humans. Typically, in the world, Yes may mean . . . “for now”, “maybe” or “as long as it is convenient”. We are often people of qualifications. Yes! A simple word, but it can have so many meanings. The Homily also talks further about “No”. Our living, at times is a mixture of both words. Why? We might be frightened by these absolute terms. It's good to reflect on this in light of the first reading (not included within this audio). Hear more about this in the Homily. As we say Yes to something, we are saying No to other options. As we make a choice in a career, or make a choice in another way, we are moving away from other things. The more one exercises freedom of choice, future choices have greater depth. However, we also have a narrower range of options. As long as I have an infinite range of options, my life remains undefined. Hear in the Homily what this means for Elisha. While we may not receive a dramatic call like Elisha to leave everything behind, when we hear the Word of God, there is always a movement toward Him! Understand what all this means for us! What exactly is Jesus trying to tell us in the readings today! For Elisha, his answer was Yes. I am All Yours! He embraces where God will lead him. He embraced God and let go of other things within his life. But what does Jesus tell us? How do I say No to Sin? How do I say Yes completely? In this episode, Rich and Amrit talk about coaching, the direction of coaching in terms of the industry and how to become coachable. They dive deep into insight coaching and how just one powerful question can expand new possibilities in your life and business and change everything, and how important it is to have a mission that is so powerful that nothing can stop you.Rich loves coaching live and Amrit has personally benefited from Rich's wisdom and guidance. There are many insights that have served him that will serve you too. Rich is a thought leader in the coaching world, leads a community of almost 20,000 coaches and consultants, and he has helped train some of the most exclusive coaches on the planet. He is the founder of 4PC, a community of the top 4% of coaches and leaders and a best selling author.Slowing down and being present allow you to be more creative, think deeply and connect intimately. Being present in conversations and listening to what other people have to say, allows Rich to see the world that they live in. Then he can ask questions that will crack open the world they live in for an insight shift and a new possibility. This new possibility is a choice they may use or not. If so, it will have a ripple effect in every single aspect of their life and business. The enemy of a new possibility is the status quo. It doesn't want you to change and holds you back from your zone of genius. You have to find ways for yourself to show up with your gift, dream big and have a mission that nothing can stop you. Leaders must become lazier and lazier, that means do one thing today that makes the biggest difference. Status quo also affects leaders. It keeps them from being their authentic selves; they want to be visible but don't want to be seen. Leadership is not about that, it is about being human and then being real about it. In this episode Daniel and Amrit talk about capitalism as a transitory structure which is not innate to the human principles of coexistence. They dive deep into how we need to move to a new stage of consciousness, one that is based on cooperation and not competition, to help us make the necessary shift to overcome the global challenges we are facing right now.In traditional cultures, the purpose of rites of passage is to drive young members of the tribes to overcome their ego identity. They undergo a vision process which are then honored and welcomed back in the community. Once they have been through this passage, they have the capacity to take responsibility for the community as a whole, overcoming self-interest when necessary. In a parallel way, we have subconsciously self-willed the ecological damage in order to force ourselves to break free from limiting egoism. Going through a universal crisis, humanity can overcome individualism, becoming self conscious of a regenerative biosphere, constructing a new social design based on shared responsibility. At the heart of most rites of passages are psychedelic experiences. Many cultures believed using psychedelic plants properly helped them connect to their truth, others didn't have access to psychedelic plants because they reached other dimensions naturally. People who used these plants or naturally reached other dimensions of consciousness were repressed with christianity and the inquisition. Nowadays there is a huge interest in psychedelics. Back in the 60's, these substances were considered by the top psychiatrists amazing things that allowed a new access to understanding dimensions of the human psyche. The US government and others used to connect them with the green movement, considering them a threat to society. They were repressed for over 35 years. Daniel's book Breaking Open the Head in 2002, helped begin to shift the mainstream consciousness around this. The generation of teenagers that began with those substances in the 60's have matured. Daniel believes it is time for our society to be able to reintegrate these things, what their value is and what they can do. We need to change globally and it is only when we see ourselves as one planetary community that this can happen. Humanity has self-willed the ecological crisis in order to create required conditions for transcendence of our quality present experience, going through initiation on a planetary scale. This collective tribulation is necessary for us to evolve from our current level of consciousness to the next. By doing this we are aware of us as one unified being, a planetary organism in mutual beneficial relationship with nature and current systems. Everything from energy and agriculture, to culture, politics, media and ideology. Pinchbeck calls for responsibility to transform capitalist structures into cooperative ones, based on Eastern metaphysics, social ecology, and radical political thought.Level up your life with unlimited access to every Mindvalley Quest Program (over 30+ programs). In this episode, Tom and Amrit talk about the importance of humanity becoming a net positive to nature for a better future, diving deep into a wide range of concepts about humanity, the economy, the environment, and the future. Tom Chi, M.S. & B.S. in Electrical Engineering, is an inventor, leader, coach, speaker, investor and technologist. He is the founding partner at At One Ventures, a company dedicated to find, fund, and grow teams to catalyze a world where humanity is a net positive to nature. He coaches corporate executives and top investors, strengthens social entrepreneurship and gives talks and workshops to unlock mindsets.Today's industries are net negative for humanity, and Tom advocates for transformational shifts. Humanity needs to become net positive to nature. This means regenerate and restore damage taking action not as scientists but as engineers.Physics teaches you how to understand the physical world, and the type of understanding that allows you to be structured to create something new is useful for lots of things, including asking big questions about why we make what we make.Designing something has an intention to it. Tom calls design a frozen intention; when you interact with it you unfreeze the intention of the designer. Technology happens because of decisions we make. If it grows faster than we can get used to, it is because we have decided it should. The key is to make those decisions with good intentions. We have spent most of the 20th century figuring out how to strip mine the physical resources of the planet and we are spending the 21st century strip mining the cognitive resources of the planet. Social media is one of the cases; attention is stripped from you and your attention is a finite resource just like minerals in the ground. Many people say economics is a science but it isn't, it is a designed discipline. People that have been in charge of designing it have done a terrible job because they treat it as a science. In science there is foundational truth, in a designed discipline there isn't. We have made foundational errors too, allowing those people to talk about their discipline as a science. Capitalism is a tool just like a hammer and no tool must be worshiped. There is a big responsibility in how we use a tool well. In consequence, Tom looks for disruptive technologies that have both radically better unit economics and environmental economics so that he can work toward a world where humanity is in a positive nature. We can remodel the industrial economy but we can also destroy nature with capitalism; it all depends on how you use this tool. Chi believes we do it because we systematically have chosen to be “dumb”, that means we got sold the narratives of a social categorisation in which we decide which social group people belong to: 'us' or 'them' . We can choose to think differently. If the vast majority of life on the planet is cooperative, we must be too. We are all interconnected with each other and the universe at large.Level up your life with unlimited access to every Mindvalley Quest Program (over 30+ programs). All Yours. If I had to place my money on something (and I'm the kind of woman who spends a whopping 25 cents on a slot machine while in Las Vegas for a week - you know- a real gambling kinda gal) I'd bet that you don't have a fabulous relationship with exercise. If you do - that's great. Seriously, you smelly like fairy farts and that 25 cents is ALL YOURS. But if you don't - or if you're interested in mixing things up abit - I'd love for you to try something new on for size. I'd like you to stop doing the exercise you THINK you should do or the exercise you ALWAYS do, and explore what movement might feel good in your body right now. Today is all about widening the range of activities that we consider "exercise". It's about experimenting to see if your body might want/need something new, shrugging off ideas about the "right" way to move, and listening to what your body is asking for. In this episode Adam and Amrit dive deep into creativity. They converse about people as creations interfacing with other creations and during these interactions, how relationships take place, serve you, challenge you to grow and what that growth is all about. Furthermore, they cave into how you can show up in a relationship in the best way possible, how to show up as a creative force of life, and how important it is for your well-being to keep creating.Community is a game changer. They tuck into the importance of feeling safe to share your lowest wounds and let yourself be seen, heard and loved. GET YOUR TICKETS FOR THE CREATE LOVE FESTIVAL 2022 HERE!Adam Roa is an artist, musician, poet, filmmaker, speaker, coach and podcaster. He is the founder of The CREATE Community, an online personal development community for creative leaders.Creativity is the path of your most fulfilling effective evolution. It is a process by which you put together new patterns assigning values to them. It expands your consciousness. Doubt and fear appear everytime you want to create something. This is an opportunity to work through these feelings. Once done, you will have created something new. This process is hard but is rewarding. When you overcome resistance with your intention, you develop resilience. When you work through trauma, you can choose two paths: either you chose to stay stuck in it or chose the payoff of self love. The more creatively you express yourself, the more self love there is that you can make use of. Your expression is unique and is the purest frequency of your soul. We are part of creation and creative energy gave us birth. This life force energy is the purest force of life. It is channeled into creativity and sexuality. We are all here to create and procreate. As we consciously create, others consciously create too. We all walk around this world searching for new experiences, new lessons and intending to grow. And the only way to do this is with love. Creativity is love. You can fall in love with people, places, food, etc. The deeper you feel that love is because there is more growth available in the other person, place or whatever. Love expands you every time it enters into a new space. When you feel love, you soften. This creates more space within and when there is more space, more love can come in. Quite the opposite of feeling fear. Protection mode contracts you, preventing you from expanding.Level up your life with unlimited access to every Mindvalley Quest Program (over 30+ programs). Replace vivid statements with vivid visions! In this episode Cameron and Amrit talk about Vivid Vision, the importance of having a vivid vision for your business as well as for your personal life and how to create one overcoming blocks and resistance. Cameron earned his reputation as The CEO Whisperer by guiding his CEO & COO clients to double their profit and revenue in three years or less. He is a top rated international speaker, lecturer, top business consultant, business growth guru and best-selling author of 5 books including his recent one Vivid Vision. GET IT HERE: https://amz.run/56XCHe is the founder of COO Alliance & Second In Command Podcast. Several years ago Cameron and a friend, each with their own business, were introduced to a new concept of how athletes use visualization to see themselves perform in future events. This was a concept that could also be applied to their businesses. After three years of success, Cameron was asked to work as the COO in his friend's company 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Applying this same concept and in only six years, he engineered it's growth from $2 million to $106 million in revenue. Not wanting to run companies anymore, Cameron began journaling to identify what filled him the most. He created a life doing what he loves most, helping owners, CEO's and senior managers create inspirational, detailed, and actionable three-year mission statements to grow their companies. Working on what you love, makes you work harder, have more success, and gets the flywheel effect happening faster.A Vivid Vision is a three page document that describes what a company's highest-ranking executive envisions for that company in vivid detail. It describes what the future holds for the company but not how it'll get there.Hiring people who are aligned with your vision is key. If they are excited about what you're building, you can flip that organization chart upside down and put the CEO at the bottom supporting the VP, then the managers, and then employees. But having a skill set is important too, people need to have the skill set of what you need them to do. Level up your life with unlimited access to every Mindvalley Quest Program (over 30+ programs). Website: https://my.captivate.fm/www.mhcmortgages.co.uk (mhcmortgages.co.uk) (1:38 – 2:49) Recap Almost there! So far, we have discussed: Putting a plan in place, the importance of help from the start and where you are trying to get to. Getting yourself as presentable as possible and the small tweaks that can make a difference Going out and viewing properties and getting accepted for a mortgage. Starting to organise the mortgage and the legal work that will be involved. How there will be a lull in place as everything gets underway, which is where we can organise your protection. And now we are very close to completion and you picking up your keys. (2:50 – 11:27) Preparation But before this last step happens, I'd like to talk about a few things to prepare yourself for exchange that you may not have considered, purely because you haven't bought property before. Visit the property as many times as you need to. There's no limit and it's a really good idea to just go back and check again to see what it's like. Measure up the property, so when you are putting in furniture you know it will actually fit. Furthermore, understand what is going to stay and what is going to go. Your solicitor and the seller's will be liaising with each other to know this – but you should too. A great thing to do to help with this is to get to know the seller, perhaps even exchange personal details so you can quickly communicate if need be. Make a list of addresses to change for things like: Bank Car insurance & finance Driving licence Credit cards Loans Work Things will get more hectic as you move on so this is something you should do earlier. You may miss a few, which is natural, but get the main ones like your bank. An idea is to have a spreadsheet where you can quickly update them and it would be safer than a sheet of paper with them all on. As you change address, think about the Royal Mail Redirect service, which will be able to forward your mail to the new address. This only costs a few pounds a month. It's likely you'll already have a monthly budget. If you have, go through it again and ensure you covered everything. Have it all broken down and clear to you. If you don't have exact figures for utilities (electricity, gas, water), you should have a rough estimate. In terms of ordering furniture, make sure this is all arranged around your moving in date. It can take months for some furniture to arrive from the point of ordering so bear this in mind. But just remember: not everything has to be brand new. When moving your own furniture, make sure to plan how you're going to do it. If you haven't got much you may only need a van. Think about if there are any friends that can help you move things...

In this week's episode, Amrit has the privilege to welcome back Eric Edmeades, serial entrepreneur, business speaker, business & marketing mentor, storyteller, bestselling author and a pioneer in evolutionary biology, nutritional anthropology, and behavioral change dynamics. He is the founder of Wildfit, Business Freedom, and Speaker Nation, and has owned businesses in a variety of industries. Eric and Amrit, talk about personal development and business development as two things that go hand in hand. They dive deep in working ON your business vs. working IN your business, what it means to be self employed vs. what it means to be a business owner, and how to grow a business to achieve business freedom so you can spend your time and money doing what matters most to you.Personal development is key to building a successful business. If you want to build an exceptional business as well as an extraordinary life you have to work on yourself. The more you work on you the better your business is going to be.Every business starts in the self employment phase and needs you to be there. But, you can be self employed and keep working in the company all your life, or you can start as self employed with the intention to build an enterprise to the point it will not require you anymore and in time have a life of its own. The transition to business owner depends on your mindset. Once you have decided you are going to build an enterprise, you make distinctively different decisions on a daily basis and while you take action you are thinking how it affects your eventual plan. Decisions are risky but necessary, especially when it comes to investing. Eric shares practical examples to explain why investing time and money on your company can help you beat competition. Criteria can be the same whether you are talking about selling your time or whether you are talking about creating a business, you still have to choose what is the basis upon which you want to make money. Eric believes you must consider if it is fun, if it is going to make an impact and finally if it gives you some money. When you love what you do, you show up with passion and that makes a distinction.Working IN your business is totally different to working ON your business. As a business owner you have to figure out which are the tasks you hate doing and start a plan to take on the right people to do them for you. Your task is to work ON your business through marketing and taking assets that can be useful in other markets to expand the business. and achieve freedomLearning through others' experience and asking for their advice to avoid the challenges of solving problems that have been solved by others before. This way you become more creative and optimistic, and you can apply that to another business or even solve world problems.Empathy is vitally important for building a business. You need this skill to associate the emotional conditions of your clients and your team. The way you treat your team is how they will treat their clients.Edmeades is actually working on a book focussed on his principle “evolution gap”.
