Craig Weinberg sits down with financial expert Andrew Horowitz to break down the real-world impact of Trump's tariff timeline and economic strategy. In this episode, Andrew explains how flawed assumptions behind the so-called “reciprocal tariffs” led to market disruptions and economic uncertainty. He dives into how tariffs are actually applied at U.S. ports, and why companies like Walmart either absorb or pass those costs to consumers. They also examine the deeper economic implications—like rising national debt, questionable trade policy goals, and the myth of restoring U.S. manufacturing dominance. Andrew draws sharp parallels to past policy blunders and highlights why long-term investment strategy—not reactionary economics—is key to building wealth in an uncertain world. From inflation in Uganda to diamonds vs. beach pebbles, it's a wide-ranging, no-nonsense conversation on trade, taxes, and truth in investing. As investors, we are all trying to make sense of the current market landscape and position for the eventual recovery. This week on the Left Brain Thinking podcast, we are joined by Andrew Horowitz, a Registered Investment Advisor and pioneer in the podcasting space. In our time together, we discussed why we don't do our own haircuts and the concept of "designing a portfolio like a flower garden," two interesting metaphors for how investors should proceed with trying to grow their retirement nest eggs. We examine the difference between first-level and second-level thinking as it impacts investors. We also discuss the "hellacious" impact of inflation and Andrew's view that "we are talking ourselves into a recession". Andrew also has a hilarious take on the financial media's pet term "capitulation" and whether we need to see it before markets can begin on the road to recovery. We close out with the sectors in which Andrew thinks opportunities are developing because the economic cycle isn't dead and will never be. When it comes to building wealth, the average person has two options: You earn an income or you invest. The former is pretty obvious. But the latter can be complicated. Joining Joe this week is Andrew Horowitz, the author of The Disciplined Investor: Essential Strategies for Success. Andrew discusses what it means to be a disciplined investor, how you can mitigate risks in the market, and what he thinks about the controversies revolving around Game Stop stock and Bitcoin.
According to Andrew Horowitz, this market is like musical chairs. It’s crazy. It’s chaotic. People are participating and having fun. But once the music stops… some people will end up getting crushed. But that doesn’t mean the music is stopping any time soon. Andrew, the president and founder of Horowitz & Company and host of the Disciplined Investor podcast gives us his opinion on the markets after a blue wave in politics… and explains why the “growth over value” trend may finally be reversing. Andrew also shares one of his favorite strategies for picking stocks… and a few of his favorite ideas right now. [26:51] Then, special guest Joe Davide—my nephew—gives us a millennial perspective on the markets... including his favorite platforms and companies. Joe shares some of his successes, failures, and what he’s learning from the experience. [1:04:18] Enjoyed this episode? I know I’m not supposed to talk about politics… but since they’re so directly tied to the stock market, it’s hard to avoid. For instance, with all the noise surrounding Trump’s impeachment trial, why is the stock market ignoring it? And what will it mean for the elections in November? There’s also plenty of noise about the recent Phase 1 deal with China. Don’t listen to the naysayers… this is a huge deal. Today I break down all of these headlines… and give you several names to pay attention to as one important sector begins to stabilize. That’s all in my educational segment [20:51]. But first, Andrew Horowitz, president and founder of Horowitz & Company, joins me for a wide-ranging interview. We discuss the record-setting bull market in stocks... the Federal Reserve’s influence on asset prices.... the coronavirus in China and how it could affect travel-related stocks... and more. And of course, Andrew shares a couple of his favorite ideas right now [54:04]. P.S. Algorithmic trading (algos) is driving off the charts. This is only going to get more extreme in the years ahead—and investors need to adapt to this new norm. On this week’s show, I explain exactly what algos are… and how they’re contributing to the biggest risk (by far) investors face in the years ahead. More importantly, I break down how individual investors can take advantage of the system—and beat Wall Street at its own game [59:07]. But first, Andrew Horowitz, president and founder of , stops by to debate some of the biggest topics driving the markets… including the “trade war” with China, the Fed, and fears of a recession. Andrew also shares his favorite company to short right now [13:37]. -------------------------------- Editor’s note: Algos are creating one of the riskiest markets in history for investors… But Frank’s found a way to use the extreme volatility to his advantage. After a long hiatus, fellow transplanted NY'er and now Floridian, Andrew Horowitz joined us. When it comes to markets, Andrew has long believed that following the Fed can reap large rewards. Even though as Andrew has stated, the real economy hasn't really been doing much for over a decade. But stock buybacks, Wall Street alchemy and government interventions have reaped mighty fortunes for some. But perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Employment numbers have been very strong. But if we're in the best economy in memory, why does the Fed need to even consider cutting rates? Something doesn't compute.

We’re about to make history… In just a few days I’m launching my industry’s first-ever digital security: the Curzio Equity Owners (CEO) token. On today’s show I break down all the details around my offer. I also explain why digital securities are a multitrillion-dollar opportunity… and why you absolutely must educate yourself on this incredible market—even if you’re not investing in this particular deal. I welcome back good friend—and regular guest—Andrew Horowitz of Horowitz and Company. Andrew is an excellent technical analyst and trend follower. We discuss everything from last December’s selloff to January’s incredible rebound… emerging markets… macro trends… “sticky” investments (think cigarettes, alcohol, and social media)... the Federal Reserve… and more. Andrew also shares a couple key items he’s watching to drive the markets going forward.
Summer is officially over… which means football season is here. And to kick off the new season, I start the podcast with a great big rant. Today I also welcome back one of my favorite guests, Andrew Horowitz. Andrew is host of podcast and president of financial planning firm Horowitz and Company. Andrew also shares the U.S. economic indicators he’s watching… and why the market is positioned for a pullback over the next few months. And of course he gives us a lot of great investing ideas. Note: My guests and I often discuss 5 to 10 stocks in a single episode… And that’s just while we’re on-air. When we’re chatting off-air, more often than not another stock or two is mentioned. And sometimes these are the of all… The very best of those stocks make it into my WSU All-Star Portfolio… And right now, .

Welcome back to another episode of Wall Street Unplugged. Last week, the S&P dropped the furthest it has since May after Donald Trump's fiery comments about North Korea. Global markets sold off almost immediately, yet only to be met with something we should be all too familiar with… A quick recovery. Over today’s eight-year bull market, there’s been an interesting dynamic that’s played out over and over again, and it has helped keep this rally afloat through some questionable times... But if it’s not Trump that’s pushing the market higher these days… what else is there? It’s questions and times like these that call for a real expert: A guy I can ask anything, who can take a conversation in any direction. From dangerous “buy mode” algo’s, earnings season, and the weakening of the US dollar... to the parabolic climb of bitcoin, and how to protect yourself from today’s recent volatility… Today’s guest and I discuss all four corners of the market.
Longtime friend, Andrew Horowitz, and I were talking on the phone the other day… Apart from catching up as close friends, we dove into some interesting talks about today's economy… I mean, how could we not? Oil and financials are rolling over, wage growth & home-sales are weakening, auto sales are down, commercial real-estate… yikes. And, on the other hand, you have only a select group of stocks (FANG) that’s really pushing this market… all while the “investor fear gauge” known as the VIX is sitting below 10. Basically, we're seeing correlations we've never seen before... intertwined with market highs that have never been reached. Andrew is calling today's market "terribly euphoric." And although I love proving him wrong, with that statement, I couldn't agree more. So on this week’s episode, as two guys sitting at a bar over some beers would do - we're taking this conversation in every direction. No agenda.. No bullish or bearish anything… Instead, we're taking a step back. And looking at the market as a whole - analyzing the recent “hard” economic data, earnings, politics, bitcoin, and even fishing. Conversations like this is what my podcast is all about. Just click here to listen… As always, thanks for tuning in and good investing, Frank Curzio
Welcome back to another episode of Wall Street Unplugged! This week I’m joined by longtime friend, Andrew Horowitz. Andrew is the host of the financial podcast – The Disciplined Investor. He is also the CEO and Founder of Horowitz & Company. To start off the interview, Andrew and I talk about the #1 catalyst in the markets right now… We’re talking politics. As Andrew says, “everything the governments talk about, the markets hang their hats on.” And he couldn’t be more spot on. The stock market just had it’s worst week since the election after Donald Trump failed to rally support for his healthcare plan. And with markets already trading at a premium, investor sentiment is beginning to pull back. As we all know, the markets have reached new heights solely on anticipation of Trump’s pro-growth policies. But will they actually be carried out? Tune in as Andrew explains today’s overarching issue… And why paying close attention to the guys upstairs (the government) is now more important than ever before. Then, if there’s one thing that Andrew nails every time he’s on the podcast… It’s his short picks. To end the interview Andrew presents listeners with two more. This is a thesis investors don’t want to miss.
Being a disciplined investor is an important character trait of successful investors. Andrew Horowitz, CFP®, author of The Disciplined Investor: Essential Strategies for Success explains the necessity of self-discipline when investing. What is the best way to deal with media frenzy, risk, and drama in the markets? Being a disciplined investor is more than watching the markets. It also plays into how you discuss financial concerns with your spouse and teach money to your children. Show host Douglas Goldstein, CFP®, brings his wife, BatSheva Goldstein, to the show to discuss their personal strategies for financial discipline and what financial messages they try to convey to their own family. Happy Thanksgiving! Welcome back to another episode of Wall Street Unplugged. On today’s episode I’m joined by good friend, Andrew Horowitz – Founder and CEO of Horowitz and Company. As the market is coming off record highs, Andrew explains why our portfolios are at even greater risk. Recent trends are far from the truth. Tune in as Andrew and I discuss what an inevitable high interest rate environment means for certain sectors going forward. Andrew then shows listeners how to take advantage of the crazy market jumps we are witnessing today. These are aggressive, short-term trading positions that could potentially move 100% to 200% within the next few weeks. And finally, let the holiday shopping begin! As online-shopping trends continue to grow, Andrew breaks down which big-box retailers to avoid this season.
Andrew Horowitz, host of The Disciplined Investor and founder of Horowitz and Company, comes on The Benzinga Podcast to talk about his origins in business in finance, the implicit aspects of creating a successful business, and the state of the U.S economy.
